Email App, Can't Connect to Server - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is going on with the native email app, it just won't work. It keeps saying "can't open connection to server"
I use hotmail and I tried doing manual setup and then clicking on Exchange. The I added "@hotmail.com" to the domain and I made the server "debug-m.hotmail.com". This worked for a month but now it is back to "can't open connection to server".
I really don't want to use alternative app like the Hotmail app because it's really bad and I don't want to get a gmail account just because this app does not work. Did anyone find a solution to this?

Email - How to dont delete emails (keep them in server)

Hi guys
Well, i searched many times, in google, and here about this, but nowhere i found a resonsable solution for this, that is not exactly a problem.
I have an HOTMAIL account, and a PT-EU rom (official) (abit old) and i have the live mail ( i believe that already came with ) and i receive emails normally.
SO where is the problem?
The problem is: I do not want to delete emails form the server. Just copy to my cellphone, then if i delete from it, the email keeps in the server.[/SIZE]
Everytime i sync with wifi, all deleted emails from my TOUCH PRO (T7272) are also deleted from the server (hotmail).
I have an outlook in my job that does that (in my house, i lost many days trying to configure... and still doing the same thing as my phone, deleting the messages from the server, even worse, couse delete after transfer to the computer...)
ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION?
I know for [email protected] there is @ setting to [email protected] PPop or something [email protected] keeps your [email protected] in the server when you delete it from cell. Sorry I'm no help
i use gmail and it just labels my e-mail as "deleted item" and then removes it from my inbox. but its still in there. check if its in another folder in hotmail.
How have you got your Hotmail account configured, I use my live (hotmail) email address on my phone, configured to get my emails using POP3, with the "Keep messages on the Server" box checked, knowing how you've got your phone configured would be helpful.

my configuration isnt by that type, and well, i think you just told me the sollution.
The way the thing is, is that i have program from microsoft, "live mail" that comes with messenger and some other things. I just needed to login into messenger to it configures my email to receive messages.
I will try to delete it, and try to configure by pop3

Mail App not deleting from server

I have a Hotmail and Yahoo account set up through the Mail app on my Thunderbolt.
Under settings, I have the "Delete Mail from Server" box checked, but it still does not delete them from the server. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I don't go on my computer for emails very often anymore, so when I do, I find a good 20 or 30 mails that I need to go through and delete again.

[Q] Exchange no longer working due to..

Hoping someone can help with this..
I'm using:
Server: webmail.company.com
Login: domain\user (not same as email)
Email: [email protected]
SSL (checked)
Accept all SSL (checked)
This has always worked in the past but recently stopped. When setting this up now I get an error: "You typed an incorrect server address or the server requires a protocol version that Email doesn't support".
Using all these settings in K9 mail I get a similar error. With K9 mail however I have the option to add a "Mailbox Alias". When I add [email protected] into the Mailbox Alias field it works.
Ideally I'd like to continue using the default Email app and Calendar but since there doesn't appear to be anyplace to add a Mailbox Alias in the default client I cannot. I am using that mailbox alias as the email address I enter when setting up the Email client.
It's not a company issued phone so there isn't much I can do as far as having changes made on the server. I believe they must have done an update or changed some setting, as there was an email that the OWA server was being restarted which preceded these problems.
I tried setting this up on an iPhone this evening. It didn't give the same error but rather just wouldn't connect to the same server. This previously worked as well as I had tried an iPhone briefly a few months ago.
It seems that no one else at work that collects email with their stock Android Email.apk is having any issues. I would assume at this point it is some kind of account problem, but I am using the same info as listed above in my work laptops Outlook client for collecting mail via https when not connected to VPN. I'm also using those settings on a Macbook in Entourage to connect to exchange, though I believe that uses webdav. Both of those clients continue to work, and as mentioned above, k9 works when adding my email address to the Mailbox Alias. I was also able to get TouchDown working though I'm not that interested in buying it.
If anyone has anything I'd love to hear it.

It seems to be an account/permissions related problem though I don't really understand why adding a mailbox alias with K9 resolves the problem, though the above OP mentions his worked with Touchdown when it wasn't working with default email.apk.

Yahoo won't work anymore

My Yahoo mail stoped working for no reason, it keeps saying that my account info form my smtp is incorrect?? WT? No it's not it is correct.
Are you using a pre-configured Yahoo account type on the phone, or using a manually-configured Yahoo POP access account (requires a paid account)? I'm having no problem with Yahoo on my phone (paid account, but I'm using the pre-configured account type on the phone and the paid access for Outlook on the PC).
If it doesn't come back in a day or three, delete the account and try re-creating it.

It's a manually configured POP 3 Yahoo account that was working fine, I did no updates or configuration changes; I noticed that it bombs out when I try to send an attachment, it keeps saying my smtp account informaiton is wrong.
I forgot to mention that this has happend 3 times before and each time I've deleted and recreated my Yahoo account but this time it has not worked. This is really starting to get on my nerves; why does Windows Phone do this? My account settings are correct, ive even double checked they are the same as my Outlook on my computer; what gives?

Okay I narrowed it down to that if I don't attach a picture to it it works fine; WT So now I can't send pictures via email because I gett that stupid error. Help.
Try using the automatic Yahoo account type (which will use IMAP, and possibly a different SMTP server). I don't know why attaching an image is messing up the server you're using, but there seems to be some kind of problem.
I am having the same issue and I am just trying to send a regular plain text email. Then I went to yahoo and for some reason I had to reinstate my account. When another friend of my reported the same problem. We figured it was a yahoo, issue.

Migrate email profile help

trying to use the native email client in place of the company authorized touchdown.
Is there a way to do that.
I've done the following with the hope to make it work
took all the settings from touchdown onto the boxer app and I get the message not authorized to sync with server.
When I delete touchdown, mobileiron tries to install the profile on the mail client and the mail client gives the error unable to upgrade account.
I don't know what else to do. I'm new to the galaxy world and would love to use the native mail client so I can see the combined calendars.
