I was able to get in to download mode and and run the Odin to install GT-I9100_ClockworkMod-Recovery_X.X.X.X.tar however; after reboot the phone is stuck by Samsung Galaxy S2 GT0i9100 with the yellow triangle and exclamation mark. It will not boot in to recovery mode by pressing volume up+home+power button.
Running Odin v3 1.83 + GT-I9100_ClockworkMod-Recovery_4.0.0.2 on official ICS that I rooted couple of days ago using odin....
I have tried this several times with the same result. Tried removing the battery and rerun the same procedure without success. The only thing I can do is go to Clockworkmod recover... I even restored using the settings there...
Any ideas?
This is the forums for the SCH-i535 aka the Verizon Galaxy SIII. You are not in the proper section bud.

My S2 got into a boot loop after switching battery. Charged the stock battery and put that back.. same. Tried going in recovery using vol-up, vol-up+vol-down, vol-up+vol-down+home, none worked. But could go into download mode using vol-down.
Tried reinstalling a 9100 rooted kernel (that I originally used for rooting few months back).. but now instead of boot loop it freezes on boot logo (Galaxy SII with exclamation). And won't go in download anymore.
Made a jig and successfully went into download mode and cleared the count. Used several kernels with a hope to fix but same. And the recovery still doesn't work.
I assume clearing cache and/or data might fix, but don't know how to do that without getting into recovery.
Please help!
In download mode flash cwm using odi . Reboot into cwm holding volume up and down. Factory reset, format system under mounts and storage and reinstall a different rom
Thanks for the reply!
Can you please provide the link for the correct CWM recovery for SGH-i777 US AT&T Galaxy SII, and confirm if I need to select that as PDA in ODIN?
Thank you!
Never mind.. I got the kernel from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1309293 and got into recovery mod.
Hope I should be able to sort it out from here. If not, will have bother you again.
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
I am an owner of a AT&T Captivate and successfully rooted and installed multiple custom ROMs, however, a friend of mine got the same exact phone (Samsung Captivate) and followed the same processes and now it's bricked.
I'm unable to enter download mode at all.
It was running Eclair 2.1 and then upgraded to Froyo 2.2 using KIES.
However, I was trying to install the same ROM I have on mine which is AOKP based on ICS, the phone on froyo was was rooted however CWR was not being installed, I was having the issue with the signature fail.
Story short, tried this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1091465 , got stuck, restarted phone in download mode and got to the screen with the exclamation mark.
Any ideas?
Use that screen as Download Mode screen. If that doesn't work...make or buy a Jig.

Click to collapse
I agree with this and if by accident you improperly flash odin one click(which is what i did), even when the phone doesnt turn on at all, you still have a chance to fix it use these methods to get into download mode and then flash odin one click http://samsungcaptivate.wikia.com/wiki/Putting_the_Phone_into_Download_Mode
Hi XDA,
I hope I'm doing right. I have downloaded [ROM][KERNEL] EVO-X2 [slim][minimalist][DDLE1] from other blogs that I found somewhere in the internet... I tried to follow the instruction on how to install it and suddenly my Phone got stocked with its Splash Screen which is Samsung Galaxy Y.
I tried to reflash it using Odin but my phone wont allow me to use the Power On+Volume up+Home method... I hope there's someone can help me with this.
I have found the main thread here but the site won't allow to post their here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757125
Thank you in advance...
As said in the dev thread, if you used stock recovery, you'll get stuck...
Did you use cwm?
And do give more details if you wish better answers...
Try reflashing a different rom

Odin mode is vol down+home+power, not the one you mentioned.....try to go to odin mode after removing the battery and waiting for atleast five minutes before reinserting it again....if it dosen't appear, you would have to make a usb jig....i had a similar problem while installing repencis v3.5 but it went to download mode a little later....

Hi,
I'm new to this site and just bricked my white 16 gb verizon galaxy s3 sch-i535 :crying: I was running touchwiz and decided to run cyanogen 10.2, I had to install a bootchain to unlock the boot. Downloaded RomManager and was using CWM 6.x.x, went to install it, rebooted into recovery and it started going through the system update, it finished and was about to install gapps when the device turned off and has not been able to turn back on since my computer won't recognize it, i plug it in and it makes a sound and tries to download the drivers, then it just stops and won't be recgonized. tried booting into recovery/download mode, nothing. I left it and used my old gs3 for about 4 days, tried plugging it into the charger, light turned red for about a minute and I thought I was saved, but then it turned off and nothing. Is this completely dead? Does any one know how to fix this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Samsung is now offering free repair of brickes phones. You can try that?

With a good battery boot into recovery using the three finger method volume+ and home and power buttons. Hold it until recover boots.
