Reboot/Battery Dying Problem - HTC One S

When my phone dies and I reboot it after charging, many of my apps when I tap on them say "application not installed". It's a big hassle reinstalling them all the time. Anyone else having these issue or know a fix?
BTW I'm on Trickdroid TMOUS 6.2.0.

Haven't seen that before, I was on Trickdroid 6.2 for a while and it never happened. Are your apps installed to internal storage or moved to SD (SD meaning the storage partion, as opposed to the default 2.5gb for apps)? Maybe try wiping dalvik & cache for starters..never hurts.

I have a few on the SD and the rest in the 2.5gb for apps.

I don't think I've ever had a phone completely die in over 5 years of android fun. I think that might be your answer

Haha sounds reasonable. I would switch to Viper but WiFi calling is a big must in my house. :/

Random restarts.

I get 1-2 reboots a day. A couple lock ups happen too. Anyone else? Is it normal?

It's definitely not normal. Try wiping fresh and installing only necessary apps then test again. If the issue persists trade it in for a new Infuse.

Problem with restarts had been referred to SD cards. It is not always relevant, as such behaviour used to happen even on card-free phones. My problems started just after update to Mango, what made phone practically unusable.
I tried and seems succesfully solved problem in following way:
- connect phone to Zune
- click on phone, then settings
- choose RESERVED SPACE position
- change with slider from default 1% to 20%
- apply, disconnect
My phone, with Micro SD, stopped crazy behaviour, f.ex. during making photo, using apps. So far so good.
So maybe, either Samsung or MS had screwed up default settings of phone and use of ROM/RAM upon processes.
Solution can be applicable to Focus S and Omnia 7 too.
Good luck!

Are you referring to media hub? If so, you can freeze or uninstall it.
Wow, this just jumped up for me as well. For the last day and a half my battery life has been brutal. This morning I'm down 16% in 45 min. despite not using my phone.
Looks like two apps are the culprits: Media and Media Server. Can anyone tell me how I can determine what is forcing these to run?
I thought I could correlate it to installing a free Amazon talking book, 'cause after installing it this weekend my media server never seemed to shut off and I had to reboot to kill it. But I uninstalled the app last night with no improvement.

Looks like some have had success removing all media files from their SD cards. Doing this piecemeal sounds pretty daunting to me - seems like every app folder and subfolder has at least images in it. Think I'll wait til next time I flash to start fresh. If this battery drain keeps up it will probably be in the next couple hours

Haven't used Odin on this SR (it's a two-week old replacement). I've only used Odin in the past to remove root. I'm at a loss here. I've formatted my ext. SD, wiped my phone numerous times, flashed 3 different ROMs today, and restored every app one-by-one so that I don't restore the data. Still media server runs like a top.
Is there a way to use Odin that's faster than removing root and starting over? I gotta fix this - I can't last 4 hours on a battery.

Huh. I was having a similar problem, and moving all the files from the internal sd card to my computer fixed it. And then I read somewhere that fix permissions would work too. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help. Good luck!

Optimizing aplications after restart

After updating my sensation to android 4.0.3 with sense 3.6, every time after restarting phone i wait too long, and on screen writes: optimizing applications. Is it normal?
Yes, it is. It happens on mine too. Not a lot of apps are optimized for ICS yet... I believe that is why that loading thing shows whenever we boot our devices. I am not sure--- but it happens to everyone. You're not alone.

Having the same problem here - it seems to be caused by a process called "media" that after the phone boots keeps crashing and restarting. If I kill this process the phone acts normally and I get my usual day usage out of the battery.
Just need to find a fix for this "media" process - might try a factory reset later.

I have the exact same problem, I use ARHD but it seems to affect all Sense 3.6 ROM's I've tried including stock. Can you tell me what SD Card you have and do you have a lot of music, photos etc on it?
The issue doesn't occur on Sense 4.0 ROM's.
My workaround was to just disable Media starting automatically using System Tuner (needs root).

Wow. Very similar to me.
I have a 32GB SanDisk Class 4.
700 Music tracks and 200 photos.
This doesn't seem coincidental. Where did you purchase your card from and around what time period?
Amazon, about august last year.
I tried a factory reset last night and formatted the sd card, put no media on it but again that process is restarting again this morning. Its supposed to be migrating the media database... But there's no media for it to migrate...
Might try a different sd card tonight.
Maybe someone could split these posts off in to another thread to see if there's others with the issue?

HTC Inspire 4G reboots alot

My HTC Inspire 4G reboots too damn much, it's been like this for weeks and am only writing this now because i have been patient but now i'm at the point of throwing this thing out of the window. I've tried many roms but no matter what it reboots, the rebooting is not constant like on a loop or something like that but i'll be either browsing, listening to music, playing games, etc and it'll reboot, it reboots more than 5-8 times a day sometimes more. As i said before i've tried many roms from Android Revolution HD, aospX 1.0.0-BR2 - 4, Unofficial Cyanogenmod 9 by PipelinerArd, Smartdroid Reloaded, and IceSense V Beta 3 and no matter what it reboots. Is there anyone that can please help me?
As i was typing this i was watching netflix on the inspire 4g and it rebooted on me again for no reason.......i swear i wanna slam this ish on the damn floor .
Try a stable Gb rom after a full wipe.
Wipe data, wipe dalvik, wipe all partitions (except sd card).
If you get a reboot, then try it without the sd card.
Sent from a dream.
I did try a stable GB rom, i tried Android Revolution HD 7.0.4. Is there a stock 2.3.3 rom for inspire 4g that i can try? I've also removed the sd card but it still rebooted. I'm currently using aospX 1.0.0 BR4.
With so many roms and still have reboots its a sign of a dying battery. Its a known symptom of a battery about to go.

My gf's has the same exact problem, and she has replaced her battery but it didnt help at all. Ive tried multiple kernels/roms but nothing helps. Im thinking it has something to do with her wifi because she says it happens almost always when she is at work or home (connected to wifi). Could flashing a different radio help this or are they strictly for data/voice/text?
I would be more willing to blame hardware for this, maybe the phone has taken water damage or been dropped. Check and clean all connections on the device (sdcard, simcard, battery, usb, wifi antenna, radio antenna). Flashing different radios is not the first route to take for fixing this problem. But if you want to do this, first start with re-flashing the current radio (obviously doing an md5 check on it while it's on the phone before doing so) and start from there.
I read a reply in another thread about this saying the sim card was the culprit and after replacing it he didnt have anymore reboots...I had her go get a new one, I'll report back if this fixes the problem or not.
Just saw this thread I have also been having reboot issues diff roms seem to help on cm9 now and it only does it a couple times a day now instead of the 7 or more like before. I have replaced the battery, flashed many diff kernels. I would love to find out the culprit next step is to tear apart the phone and check connections

Just wanted to update everyone with this problem, after my gf put her new sim card yesterday morning she hasnt had a single reboot yet...normally she would have had 10+ by now so I'm pretty confidant that was the problem.
Well i currently don't have a sim card in the phone so i only use it for everything else but a phone. what are radios for?
Oh and also i've noticed that the phone doesn't reboot while in recovery (i'm using 4ext) i've left my phone in recovery for a while because i needed to transfer a big file (over 10gb) to my micro sd and it never reboots and now everytime i need to transfer a big file to the phone i go to recovery, the reason i say this is because if it was a hardware issue wouldn't it do it anywhere including recovery. Also doesn't the phone creates a log that perhaps can help find out what the problem is?
So your phone is having reboot problems, but your not using it as a phone (not on a network, no SIM card)
Have you replaced the battery yet?

Nope not yet, have to buy one but at the moment i have no money but when i do i'm gonna buy a new battery and see. But i truly hope that the problem is not hardware and that it's just the battery.

Do me a favor and download from the play store and app called "Android System Info" it is free, and will give you easy access to the log files.
If you can catch your phone rebooting, try and look up the log right after it and copy and paste the info you find here.
I am still waiting for mine to reboot I put the app on mine so I could look at the log from the reboot, and since then my phone hasn't rebooted.

I have been using the same ROM for about 4 months, but lately I have noticed that the cell gets warm at times, specially when charging, some times it gets hot when it's supposed to be OFF. When this happens the phone won't even turn on, I have to remove the battery manually and then put it back in to get it to turn on. (This has been happening for a while)
Anyways, skipping to this week. My phone is randomly restarting during calls. One of the random restarts made me lose some of my apps. The icons for some of my apps are messed up (they show as some default android icon), and when I try to open them it tells me that they are not installed. The app for the camera is also not working. It's similar to when you upgrade windows and all the registry gets lost; therefore you are forced to re-install all of your programs.
This is driving me crazy. Has anyone had this problem before?
Any kind of help is appreciated,
Thanks.

Yep, the exact same happened to me on Hellfire 2.3. I think a data wipe/factory reset will fix this issue but I just went to a different rom as Hellfire rom just didn't seem to like my G2X.

Wouldn't I lose all of my apps and info saved on the internal memory by doing that...?

You would only lose things like apps, other stuff like texts and call logs can be backed up and restored on your new ROM, it is possible to back up app data with titanium backup but its not too recommended because it can cause some problems on the new ROM. Things saved on internal SD like pics and download aren't touched.
Hope this helped

Latest baseband stopped these problems for me.

How exactly do I upgrade to a newer base band?
Thanks!
Using the lg updater tool to flash v21y updates the baseband. There's guides in the stickies.
