Soft keys or nav bar - Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE

I haven't found it in the settings, but is there a way to hide the soft keys and cue them with a gesture or something?

Moved to Q&A. Even though your question thread may be "Theme & App" related it's still a question so should be.

[Req] Notification Bar mapped onto search hardware button

Tried to search around but no catch so far.
Hello, as per the title I'm
looking for an application that is able to map the pull down notification bar to the search button as sometimes when we are having fullscreen applications on we would like to maybe take a peek on the bar for any updates.

I like this idea a lot!
Perhaps we could move the search button/app inside the notification pull-down menu?

That's an awesome idea...I always hate leaving the game/app I'm in to check my new text or something like that. This could be very difficult though..
great idea, its hard to grab it sometimes on the incredible
yeah, it will be great if there an app that can do so, but I'm no dev, so I can only put up a request and hope to get a response from people that are able to do so.

Map long press multitask button to search

Is there any way through the build prop to map the long press of the multitask button to search? That way when I'm on the home screen I can hold the button and voice search will start up?

Should be possible, reviewers remapped the multi task and settings keys..maybe ask in his Rom thread.
Btw wrong section. You'll probably get more info in the general section. This thread will probably end up getting moved or closed..

What am I missing - expandable notifications

Ok, I'm sure I'm missing something here but I can't for the life of me figure it out. I cannot get expandable notifications working. Running the stock Verizon update from yesterday, not rooted. I've tried it in both touchwiz and go launcher. If I get a notification for multiple gmail messages it shows as a single notification showing the number of messages. If I try to swipe up or down (with either 1 finger or 2) nothing happens. Swiping to the side clears the notification same as on ics. Pressing and holding on the notification pops up an app info box. I've been sending myself emails and texts all day trying to figure this out. Am I missing something or am I due for a factory reset?
Thanks in advance.

Two finger pinch will expand or hide notifications.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't know if it was the battery pull, cache wipe, or if I was just doing it wrong but I have it working now. Swipe up/down doesn't expand/contact and neither does a vertical pinch but a horizontal pinch seems to work. Very touchy though. Nothing like what I've seen in videos.
Thanks again.

Is your expanded notification for Text messages working? I can pinch to expand but it doesn't show any options such as 'reply' or 'call' and it's just black space. However, expanded notification for calls and emails seem to work.
I get no options when I expand text notifications. I also have to pinch horizontally (like with all my other notifications) to get it to expand. Is anyone else able to expand by swiping down with two fingers or pinching vertically?

Nope, Samsung changed that unnecessarily on VRBLK3.

I have been asking the same question and have yet to get an answer from anyone. Are we supposed to have a a quick reply option from the notification?

I think that's an aosp feature, you won't get that on touch wiz ROMs for a while.

how can I change what the soft keys do?

Is there a ways or app that can be used to change what a soft key does.
For example to open "Utter" instead of google search when clicking on search.
I installed "Xperia/AOSP NavBar Buttons" for Xposed and like it but I want to change the action and clicking on search......
In other works, remapping softkeys
Thanks
There is no search button on standard softkeys anyway. Just home recent and back button. I think you may mean the nav ring but either way settings for then can be changed in most custom ROMs now a days

Like I said in my opening post I installed "Xperia/AOSP NavBar Buttons" for Xposed and added the search softkey in the navbar. I don't use the navring and still using stock rom.
On the AICP rom you can change them to whatever you want and also do a long press and a double press as well. It's great.

Gravity box xposed has options to customise the navbar keys
