Hey, i have had my sensation about 2 months, now when i connect it to a pc it dosnt ask what connection type to choose, it only charges, in the menu it is set to ask me about connection type, while connected to pc there is now no icon in the notification area (used to say 'charge only' or 'disk drive') even when rebooted into 4ext recovery and mounted/toggle usb connection, it dosnt connect as a disk drive like it has always done in the past, it only charges, i have tried 3 different pc's and 3 different micro usb cables, also have tried updating the firmware to 3.24 and installed ICS with the same result, i think its a hardware issue? last time it worked was 3 days ago connected via usb to a jvc headunit listening to my music files.
Weird problem!
Maybe you could try with a different SD card to eliminate the possibility of it being an SD card problem?
If it still doesn't work with another SD Card it may well be a hardware problem.

Well I had the same problem with the custom ROM I use.
Installing it clean with a full wipe solved it.
It is definitely NOT the pc, laptop or SD-card.
Are you on a custom ROM?
- Yes then install clean with full wipe. (make a nandroid backup!!!) and install all apps new.
- No then do a total reset (reset to factory settings) and do all the install stuff new. After that you can also install with RUU your ROM designated for your device.
You will see your USB connection will show up!!
same here
i have exactly the same problem as described in op.
will try flashing a new rom then also; first have to buy a flashcard reader then to get my new rom ON the sd card....
or do you think a nandroid restore would fix the problem? will try that first.
Will report back
The nandroid might restore the problem.I'd try it first.if not , then do the full wipe reinstall as said above .if at the time of the nandroid back up it was working is a good possibility it will fix the issue. Hope this helps!

I am having the same problem ..... Dont feel like wiping and going stock.

Couple of tips that might fix your problem.
If you're running aokp make sure you disable fast charge.
Turn on mtp in USB computer connection settings. I have trouble accessing the options from most custom roms, so a little work around is to install either apex or nova, long press add to home screen - shortcuts - activities - scroll down to Settings - USB computer connection(com.android.settings.usbsettings) . Tap it and you should get a shortcut. Select mtp.
Ultimately, the thing that fixed my same issue was getting a different USB cable lol. You can also try different ports on your computer.
Good luck, hope you can find a solution to your problem! If all else fails, you can try using airdroid for transfer over Wi-Fi
Anyone find a fix on this , mine has started doing this yesterday :crying:
Tried 3 different cables , different usb ports , different sd card , formatting sdcards in 4xt recovery , reflashing firmware.... also htc sync re installed for drivers (htc sync does not see the phone), adb re installed (adb does not see the phone??)
dont think its the rom as adb cannot see the phone in fastboot
anyone any other ideas , tried ninjasalad suggestion on enabling mtp also ??
I think you're fine. I had this problem after flashing ARHD 6.6.X, OrdDriod series, and PkMn series. What I did was the following:
Went into settings. Connect to PC. Unchecked the "ask me" , Restart phone. Then checked "ask me" again. Lastly, restarted phone again.
After doing that a couple times, it worked for me. Maybe you can try that.
This happened to me as well. I think it's a hardware problem

make sure you have enabled usb debugging mode from settings
install htc drivers
install htc sync(i am not sure if it is necessary)
use 2.0 usb ports
use the original usb cable if you aren't using it yet
wont work, screen broken

I can't do that because to enable usb debugging mode you have to use the phone and the phone's screen is completely broken and there's no way to even get into it using the touch screen.

So AFTER my ICS Update:I cannot get my laptop to recognize my tf101 B50. I've had several suggestions from members, but nothing has worked. I cannot get Mass Storage Access! And that sux.
SO....is there a way, keeping in mind that I cannot get access to my internal SD ( or external for that matter) to revert my tablet back to an earlier version of ROM so that I can re-root and again load CWM or nvflash?
I don't mind how ICS operates, I just want the access back to my SD's.
IS there any hope to accomplish this? Is this something that ICS can do intentionally to keep user from having access SD and Root?
I hopd someone can help!
Thank you!
John
Have you reinstalled asus sync and all drivers?
I have tried to. I uninstalled everything I had on this laptop.( asus wise) then tried to reinstall. The install gets all the way to the end, then hangs at the 99% installed mark on the bar. I'm going to try again. Wow does the noobie come out in me!
Thanks
I just did an entire re-install of the Asus Sync.
Still get the same message that device has malfunctioned when I plug my tf101 into my laptop. I am not able to update drivers and asus sync does not detect the device.
Any of this make sense?
Frustrating!
Thanks

This is common, check out these forums:

It just happens sometimes, not 100 percent sure why, but when I flashed Revolver's ICS rom, I lost the ability to have my device recognized when plugged in.
I have since fixed the problem by installing HD Revolution ICS rom, now my device is recognized just fine.
You should try reflashing your Rom if you'd like to keep your info, or if that doesn't work, make sure you download an app back up utility, back up your stuff, then flash a brand new rom after doing a full wipe of you device.
Should work just fine after that.
Others have found flashing the file located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22964131&postcount=47
worked out.
I appreciate the advice. BUT, If I can't get my transformer to show up as a Mass Storage decive on my PC how can I load these?

You have a removable micro sd card? Take it out of the TF, transfer the needed files to it and put it back in the TF.
I can't boot from the micro sd. I have the files that I need on it. cannot access the external micro SD OR the internal SD. The Tablet is running fine, I just cant gain access to the SD cards. I can't boot into recovery, I can get it in APX mode, but windows 7 or XP won't recognize it. Trying to update the drivers, windows is telling me that the best drivers are already installed.
This doesn't make sense to me. What would have caused this glitch?
Again, I am sorry I updated to ICS.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Sorry, missed the part where you can't access your sd card.
If you are using windows...get a copy of Ubuntu. That's how I did it (not with the TF) when I had problems getting my external storage to be recognized. The easiest would be to use a USB thumb drive so boot into Ubuntu. Ubuntu usually picks up all kinds of devices. Even an HP printer that is nno longer supported by W7 . That's how I print stuff I need.
I loaded Ubuntu onto a jumpdrive and booted it up on my pc. Plugged in my Transformer.
Still no-go on recognizing my TF101. Is here something specific that I am not doing? Should it have picked it up automatically? This is a real head shaker....
Thanks
I have to ask another question. Still nothing as far as Mass Storage/SD recognition of my TF101 B50. Windows 7 doesn't see it, and the Ubuntu I loaded this morning doesn't see it. The problem started after an OTA update.
When I try to boot into recovery, I get the robot with the red triangle and exclamation mark. Am I just SOL on this? is there ANYTHING that has worked for anyone else. This Tf101 worked great before the update.
My pc knows that something is connected, but gives me the UNKOWN DEVICE message in Device Manager, The latest drivers I have from ASUS won't work to update the drivers....I'm all out of ideas. Am I screwed?
Thanks in advance for the help......noob here.
I'm quite confused with this one. Here's what's happened so far.
I was on AOKP Build 31 with CWM touch 5.8.2.1 and decided I want to go back to stock and start fresh. I found a mostly stock 9.2.1.17 from a thread in XDA titled "[ROM] TF101 Rooted Stock 9.2.1.17 + bootloader + modded recovery US and WW" (sorry, can't post links). I downloaded, checked the MD5, made a nandroid, wiped data/cache/Dalvik and installed the ROM. After doing that, I have been unable to get my device to connect to any computer via USB. I tried restoring my backup and also re-flashing a fresh copy of AOKP Build 31. I am able, however, to connect via ADB using TCP/IP. When I plug the device into my Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit I don't get any sort of notification or sound. When I plug the device into my Ubuntu 11.10, 64 bit I also don't have a connection showing up using the 'sudo lsusb' command. The strangest thing is that when I plug the device in the screen turns on, so clearly the USB cable is not the cause. I've tried two different Win. 7 computers, my Ubuntu box and a Fedora box (and multiple USB ports on each computer). Any suggestions?
Try this, Settings> Storage> hit the 3 dots sign at top right corner, hit USB computer connection,
Un check the MTP box and check it again. If that don't work try turning off USB debugging

Tried that on one of the Win. 7 boxes and the Ubuntu box, no success.
Have you tried reinstalling the drivers? I had to do that when I went from stock to custom rom.
This happens a lot. Something to do with the bootloader not getting flashed properly or something.
Get the full ICS ROM from Asus website and flash it.

You can root it (rather painfully and obscurely) by using an update.zip with the version of the firmware Razorclaw needs to work, and root in tablet and then flash in tablet. Downgrading to the required honeycomb might fix the usb too. I've never had to use ADB to do anything on my tf, aside from developing

Ive rooted a bajillion devioces and never thought to look there when my tf101 stopped connecting, ive rebooted my pc and it a hundred times
Thanks for the DOH! moment !!
OK. First of all, although I'm using the TF101 for the first time, I'd like to say that I've done a fair bit of rooting, troubleshooting and customizing various Android devices (HD2, Desire, SE x10, SGS2, SGSN, SGSN2...). So I ensure you, any lack of knowledge regarding the TF101 is not caused by ignorance. I'm trying to find out the cause for my problem for few days now, but can't find something to catch on. There are many similar problems with TF101 not being recognized by PC, but they all offer solutions which don't work, I don't understand them, or which make no sense.
Let's start at the beginning.
I have gotten my hands on Asus EEE Pad Transformer TF101. It was really cheap. I was told it came form USA.
It's obviously rooted, has a custom rom and recovery (ClockworkMod Recovery v3.2.0.1. roach2010-tf101-r1)
This is waht it says in Settings>About:
Model Number:
Transformer TF101G (although I think it is actually just a Wi-Fi model - TF101, it has no SIM slot)
Android version:

It seems to be working fine, except for being totally filled up with apps, bloatware and data. Natural instinct was to install a clean ROM. I wanted to go with CM, and a newer Recovery, but I got stuck on the first step. I can't get it recognized on any of my computers. Both Windows 7 and 8.
However I plug it in, I get; USB device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to you computer has malfunctioned... This happens when I connect the USB cable when Android is booted up, when in recovery and also in APX mode, providing I have entered it (I'm not really sure because the display is always black).
In Device Manager, I can see only one exclamation icon (I did enable show hidden devices) in Universal Serious Bus Controllers called Unknown Device, which seems to be from the TF101. I tried uninstalling it. Restarting both the tablet and the computers. I tried to manually override those Unknown Device drivers with ASUS Android USB drivers for Windows and Universal_Naked_Driver_0.72 and ventana apx driver, but it wouldn't take any of them. I also tried installing them manually by right clicking on the INF files, and still nothing.
Then I thought I could mount the sdcard or USB mode in recovery, but that wouldn't work either.
Any solutions?
Do you have the stock USB cable? Are you plugging in to a usb3 slot?
Does the rom have fast charge enabled? I think that's what it's called but it allows USB charge rather than seeing your files and such.
Do you have mtp mode or mass storage mode options on the tablet?

Yes, I have stock USB cable. At least I think so. I'm not the first owner. How can I be sure? It seems to be charging fine on the wall charger. It doesn't charge thru PC though.
If you are asking me if I tried it on USB 3.0; yes I did. Both 2.0 and 3.0. Not recognized.
I don't know if the ROM has "fast charge". I'm new to the TF101, and Honeycomb in general, and I didn't notice such an option. Where can I look?
I also didn't see any MTP/Mass storage modes in settings. Where would they be?

I did look around. I read a ton of posts here and elsewhere. There is nothing to the point. People at transformer forums are actually advising to just forget about the usb and use wireless transfer instead, since there are so many people with this problem who can't solve it. That would be fine with me, but I'm especially stuck because I can't flash anything since my USB connection is not working, and current CWM recovery doesn't seem to support flashing from internal memory/sd card.
Before you do anything else, install TWRP recovery before you brick your TF with CWM
Install Goo Manager here

You might need to update to ICS first then, maybe Honeycomb is too old
CWM has a habit of boot looping devices, I would try updating to an ICS ROM and then trying Goo again before going for a Jellybean ROM
EDIT - You might have more luck getting TWRP installed using Easyflasher

My guess is a bad USB cable. I had my USB cable stop working for ADB/APX/MTP/PTP but it still works with the Asus wall wart for charging. New USB cable fixed it straight away.
Solution
hi. if you cannot enter apx mode. try flashing a new rom of the tf101 or reflashing your current recovery
Soft brick Asus transformer tf101,None boot stuck\no USB
Hello I'm having the same problem with my tf101 but I can't get windows 7 64bit too load a driver for it, tried them all? Mine is soft bricked and there's no recovery file to restore. getting file not found.
Only shows CMW Based recovery v 5.5.0.4 roach-tf101-r2, also won't see SD card to re flash a rom or recovery.img, seems everywhere I turn I hit a wall on getting it back to working again, just hangs on Asus Logo?
please help? do I need to use a terminal program? is there a way to force a driver to load and see it long enough to reimage?
Thanks tons for any help.:crying:

Same problem here... Tried Naked Driver and still got nothing. The Tablet just won't get recognized by the computer (Windows 8.1).
Did you have any luck unbricking it?
I've been through soft bricks before but this time, it seems to me that I've hit the bottom... I just can't think of anything else... any help??
had this problem for 2 years now. started off off like that, now it doesnt recognize at all. if it's rooted, flash a recovery using a terminal emulator. (there are instructions on team win's website on how to flash it to the appropriate block). then, just install a ROM with twrp. mine is in a permaloop. wiping data, rebooting, doing it again. if you get it to work, don't tinker with it any more. that's from my experience.

hi. if you cannot enter apx mode. try flashing a new rom of the tf101 or reflashing your current recovery

hi sir,..i have the same problem above,.my data cable doesn't work ..the cwm i used now doesn't show my ext sd card,.only clockworkmod file,.is it possible to flash the old rom without computer?..how..please reply ,..thanks,
Don't wanna be the bearer of bad news but, I gave up trying to recover that thing a long time ago buddy. My advise to you would be: let go of it. The way I see it, the only way you could do it would be if you could replace the connection port and regain access to you tablet through you computer - considering the problem is being caused by that port.
Another way of doing that would be if you could actually have access to the tablet's internal storage and then place a ROM there so you could flash that using CWM.
Those are the only two options I didn't try, and now I can't, since I gave mine away to someone I thought could try one of those things, but not even an eager 17 year old boy could do it.
So, good luck with that.
So after trying to find a straightforward guide for installing the USB drivers for my OPO, almost every link says to use the OnePlus One toolkit, so I followed the 'manage drivers' section of the toolkit but for some reason, whenever I come to use my phone with my PC, the drivers seem to wipe themselves out! After I've done the initial driver installation, everything works fine, but after a day or 2, when when I plug my phone in, it will show 'unknown device' or it will show 'A0001' but with an exclamation mark next to it in the device manager and my phone isn't recognized. I'm using windows 7 x64 and the original red OPO cable.
I must be doing something wrong with these drivers, does anyone have a guide for deleting old drivers and reinstalling drivers for the OPO?
Edit: Ive reinstalled them again using the toolkit guide but I dont know if they will keep again, either way, im flashing blisspop now, maybe its an issue with 5.0 stock rom or something?

I had similar issue with lollipop ROMs, didn't find any solution except flashing fastboot images of CMOS12 or simply downgrading to CM11S.

Fair enough, well i'm thinking I may move back to CM11S if things don't work out on Blisspop. If I turn off USB debugging and then switch to camera (PTP) mode and then back to MTP mode, my phone then connects fine. I wanted it to connect so I could copy my Titanium backup files off the phone and onto the PC. In the end, my mate told me about Airdroid and I managed to download them through that as a ZIP file. For some reason, the titanium backup folder isn't visible from your computer, I tried copying it to the DCIM folder and it just gave me a 1kb file. I also tried a new folder called backups and it was empty when I looked on my PC, but the files were visible when using Airdroid and also when I used a file browser on my phone.
Weird stuff!
Just wanted to bump this and see if anyone has a solution or even just an explanation.
Whenever I plug my OPO into my PC (with the original cable), the device, A0001 is found but is shown in Device Manager with an exclamation point. If I then right click on it and chose uninstall, and then reconnect the phone, it will connect and work fine for MTP/PTP modes. If I put USB debugging on, the MTP doesn't always work after. But no matter what, if I shutdown my PC, and then come to connect the phone the next day etc, I have to do the uninstall of the driver then reconnect for MTP to work. Pretty frustrating!
Anyone know why the phone isn't remembered by my PC correctly? I'm on Windows 7 x64 if that means anything.
I'm moving back to stock ROM soon so I'll see then if its something to do with the unlocked bootloader or using a custom ROM. I'll report back if I have any luck
Bumping this again, its still the same on 6.0. I don't fancy moving back to stock ROM, I like CM over Cyanogen OS, but this problem is really frustrating. Every single time I connect the phone to the PC, it will come up as A0001 but with an exclamation mark next to it in Device Manager, if I right click and uninstall the driver, then reconnect the phone, it works fine then. But if I restart my PC, it does the same thing where it cant find the right driver for the phone.
Is there anything I can try to fix this?
