I dont entirely understand your question. I am guessing you have CleanRom installed? Then how did you lose your root? Did Super User become uninstalled? If so it can be installed from the play store. Under your ASUS customized settings and Developer settings make sure nothing is marked to disable the usb to pc.

CleanRom is a pre-rooted rom, so you just reflash cleanrom and you should have root back.
Dear Taylor i rooted and have install cleanrom on my tab. But then i did a factory reset, after that i got no more root even the CWR is gone.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
That is my problem i cant reflash because i dont have the CWR on it and my pc dont connect to my tab so i cant even root it again. i got everything backup on titanium but you need root to use it.

If you did indeed have CleanRom then it should not have wiped out the root not should it had wiped your recovery. So my question is what did you flash because flashing CleanRom will not touch your recovery. And CleanRom does not have to be rooted, it is already rooted so it sounds like to me your flashed the stock rom. So IDK what is going on because flashing/wiping Cromi does not touch recovery not take away root.

As long as your bootloader is still unlocked, you can use fastboot to flash CWM and then whatever ROM you want.
For CWM touch, see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926286

Are speaking of the latest CROMi or CleanROM the older version?
Sounds like a system wipe vs. factory reset.
I'd ADB push TWRP and reinstall the ROM.
What exactly is the tablet doing when you hook it up to the pc? Are there any sounds like the pc is recognizing the device is connected or say a usb device is attached? Does the tablet say it is connected to the usb of the computer? Can you charge the tablet fine using the wall plug and cord? I've had the pins on the port fry and it became useless to any computer it connected with. Worked fine for charging via the plug. Asus had to replace the port on the tablet under warranty. Give the developers trying to help a bit more info as it may not be software but a hardware issue.
I got the CleanRom 3.3 install.
When i hook up the TAB on my pc nothing happens. Charging the tab is ok not a problem. I dont think the port is fry because i try to hook up my old phone to my pc Samsung galaxy GT-I9000 with android version 4.2.2 and my pc is not recognizing this one. Maybe is the USB drivers from my pc? It run on windows 7..... i will try to hook up to another pc tonight its run on windows XP maybe that wil help.
i wanna thanks you guys form all the help till now........:good:

Edit:
I see you lost your recovery also.
Edit 2:
Plug the tablet in
Go to Device manager on the Win7 PC
See if the "Asus ADB device" is evident in the list of devices
If it is there double click to get the dialog box then uninstall the driver
Restart the PC

Hmmm...
Don't know where to go from here.
By your explanations you may be looking at a hardware problem.
Very hard to tell with information provided.
Does your PC see any other USB devices when connected directly to the PC (not through an external hub)?

Did you check to see if you have USB debugging enabled?
Download the tool from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094746, then make sure you go into settings and enable USB debugging (located in settings -> developer options), plug in the usb cable, then run the tool to push TWRP to your device (not recommend CWM, this tool create problem). See if the tool see your device. Please try both Win7 and XP.

tell us how to run adb on your pc and screen shot please. I believe you're not doing the right thing.
I'm having a similar issue, only difference is I've done nothing and suddenly USB connection stopped working. I can charge normally and when I try to connect TF700 to my PC, nothing happens. Not even some "Ding-Dong" sound like most of the time you connect some USB devices on it, and absolutely no error, no ADB and other things are shown on Device Manager. I'm thinking it's most likely my cable or my port is broken. I've ordered a new cable yesterday, hope it's gonna be that easy.
Hm... For me this happens when I kill wudfhost.exe in processes on my pc... Which is the driver it uses to recognise the connection to android devices.
Check taskmanager to see if it's there. If not, there you (might) have it. It should be in c:/windows/system32.

If i press and hold power and volume down until you get the option:
RCK - Andriod - wipe data
up left says: The Device is UnLocked.
Android cardhu-user bootloader <1.00 e> released by "ww_epad-10.6.1.14-20130329" A03
Starting Fastboot USB download Protocol
When i go to RCK device says:

Then i will get the android error see the pic.
Everthing is working fine i just cant get to recovery or root my tab. I even manual updated my tab from 4.1.1 to 4.2.1 still the same problem.
No recovery and no fastboot.
OK. First of all, although I'm using the TF101 for the first time, I'd like to say that I've done a fair bit of rooting, troubleshooting and customizing various Android devices (HD2, Desire, SE x10, SGS2, SGSN, SGSN2...). So I ensure you, any lack of knowledge regarding the TF101 is not caused by ignorance. I'm trying to find out the cause for my problem for few days now, but can't find something to catch on. There are many similar problems with TF101 not being recognized by PC, but they all offer solutions which don't work, I don't understand them, or which make no sense.
Let's start at the beginning.
I have gotten my hands on Asus EEE Pad Transformer TF101. It was really cheap. I was told it came form USA.
It's obviously rooted, has a custom rom and recovery (ClockworkMod Recovery v3.2.0.1. roach2010-tf101-r1)
This is waht it says in Settings>About:
Model Number:
Transformer TF101G (although I think it is actually just a Wi-Fi model - TF101, it has no SIM slot)

It seems to be working fine, except for being totally filled up with apps, bloatware and data. Natural instinct was to install a clean ROM. I wanted to go with CM, and a newer Recovery, but I got stuck on the first step. I can't get it recognized on any of my computers. Both Windows 7 and 8.
However I plug it in, I get; USB device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to you computer has malfunctioned... This happens when I connect the USB cable when Android is booted up, when in recovery and also in APX mode, providing I have entered it (I'm not really sure because the display is always black).
In Device Manager, I can see only one exclamation icon (I did enable show hidden devices) in Universal Serious Bus Controllers called Unknown Device, which seems to be from the TF101. I tried uninstalling it. Restarting both the tablet and the computers. I tried to manually override those Unknown Device drivers with ASUS Android USB drivers for Windows and Universal_Naked_Driver_0.72 and ventana apx driver, but it wouldn't take any of them. I also tried installing them manually by right clicking on the INF files, and still nothing.
Then I thought I could mount the sdcard or USB mode in recovery, but that wouldn't work either.
Any solutions?
Do you have the stock USB cable? Are you plugging in to a usb3 slot?
Does the rom have fast charge enabled? I think that's what it's called but it allows USB charge rather than seeing your files and such.
Do you have mtp mode or mass storage mode options on the tablet?

Yes, I have stock USB cable. At least I think so. I'm not the first owner. How can I be sure? It seems to be charging fine on the wall charger. It doesn't charge thru PC though.
If you are asking me if I tried it on USB 3.0; yes I did. Both 2.0 and 3.0. Not recognized.
I don't know if the ROM has "fast charge". I'm new to the TF101, and Honeycomb in general, and I didn't notice such an option. Where can I look?
I also didn't see any MTP/Mass storage modes in settings. Where would they be?

I did look around. I read a ton of posts here and elsewhere. There is nothing to the point. People at transformer forums are actually advising to just forget about the usb and use wireless transfer instead, since there are so many people with this problem who can't solve it. That would be fine with me, but I'm especially stuck because I can't flash anything since my USB connection is not working, and current CWM recovery doesn't seem to support flashing from internal memory/sd card.
Before you do anything else, install TWRP recovery before you brick your TF with CWM
Install Goo Manager here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.s0up.goomanager
Tap the menu dots at the top right of the app and choose "Install OpenRecoveryScript"
That should flash the latest TWRP recovery for you

You might need to update to ICS first then, maybe Honeycomb is too old
CWM has a habit of boot looping devices, I would try updating to an ICS ROM and then trying Goo again before going for a Jellybean ROM
EDIT - You might have more luck getting TWRP installed using Easyflasher

My guess is a bad USB cable. I had my USB cable stop working for ADB/APX/MTP/PTP but it still works with the Asus wall wart for charging. New USB cable fixed it straight away.

Same problem here... Tried Naked Driver and still got nothing. The Tablet just won't get recognized by the computer (Windows 8.1).
Did you have any luck unbricking it?
I've been through soft bricks before but this time, it seems to me that I've hit the bottom... I just can't think of anything else... any help??
had this problem for 2 years now. started off off like that, now it doesnt recognize at all. if it's rooted, flash a recovery using a terminal emulator. (there are instructions on team win's website on how to flash it to the appropriate block). then, just install a ROM with twrp. mine is in a permaloop. wiping data, rebooting, doing it again. if you get it to work, don't tinker with it any more. that's from my experience.

hi sir,..i have the same problem above,.my data cable doesn't work ..the cwm i used now doesn't show my ext sd card,.only clockworkmod file,.is it possible to flash the old rom without computer?..how..please reply ,..thanks,
Don't wanna be the bearer of bad news but, I gave up trying to recover that thing a long time ago buddy. My advise to you would be: let go of it. The way I see it, the only way you could do it would be if you could replace the connection port and regain access to you tablet through you computer - considering the problem is being caused by that port.
Another way of doing that would be if you could actually have access to the tablet's internal storage and then place a ROM there so you could flash that using CWM.
Those are the only two options I didn't try, and now I can't, since I gave mine away to someone I thought could try one of those things, but not even an eager 17 year old boy could do it.
So, good luck with that.
Afternoon guys,
Before anyone has a go at me, I've have spent about five hours looking through this forum for what I'm looking for and i've tried all the easy unroot/easy flasher/etc and got all the stock Asus rom and recovery. AND the forum search is temporarily unavailable.
So here is what I have:
ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.3.4
Liquid Smooth Rom
I have installed the stock rom, recovery and wiped everything.
If i press the power button it loads into CWM recovery.
If i press power and down vol, it loads to the wipe data/load android screen, and which it hangs on forever,
So I guess what im asking you good people of the internet is:
A) How do I finally get rid of CWM Recovery (because even if i install another recovery it boots back to CWM), and
B) How on gods earth do I get back to stock?
Now I know people are going to be like search the forums, I have, and I've tried literally everything that everyone has posted, and clearly while it's worked for millions of other people, my tablet is retarded and doesnt want to follow the norm.
Also i am the greatest noob ever.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hmmm, did you unzip the stock ROM once before flashing (it will still be a zip).
Otherwise, try using EasyFlasher and APX mode. For EasyFlasher, do not unzip the stock ROM, use it as it downloads from Asus.

Thanks

If your TF is SBK1 (Serial B6O or earlier, some B7Os work too) you can use NVFlash
http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Asus/Asus+Transformer+(TF101)/STOCK+ROMS/ICS+.27
Stick the TF into APX mode (Vol up & Power from Powered Off state)
Run download.bat as Admin (Right click > Run as Admin)
@frederuco
I did unzip it and install it. It still hangs.
I tried EasyFlasher, but for some reason I run through it and the process completes, when i reboot the tablet nothing has changed.
@*Detection*
I can't get the link to work for some reason.
Thanks for your help so far, but stupid tablet stays stupid!

I downloaded it and ran it as admin, DOS flashed up and disappeared before i could read what it said.
the nvflash app does the same, even when i run as admin.
maybe this is a lost cause..

What is the first 3 characters of your tablet serial?
And was it in APX mode connected to PC USB with APX drivers installed ?

The serial starts with B40.
Im on a mac (as i have no access to a pc) but have VMWARE running windows 7, with APX drivers on it.
When i put it in APX mode, it comes up that it is connected as Nvidia APX device.
Could this be where I'm going wrong?

Yea probably, I've never tried using NVFlash on anything other than a PC running Windows
Try updating the NVidia APX Device with these drivers
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1489867&d=1353190140
Chances are its the drivers running on the Mac that are causing the problem with the USB > VMWare > TF101
I know nothing about Mac, but I heard you can install Windows 7 almost natively using Bootcamp or something? Might be worth trying that if you can't do it in VMWare

Great!
At least you know now you can do what you like with it firmware / ROM / Recovery wise, and always be able to return it to stock, you can't break APX mode unless you physically damage the tablet
Hi All,
It has been a time that I unlocked my TF700t then followed the CM10 documentation to install 10.0 using CWM.
Recently I wanted to upgrade to 10.1 but it didn't work and ended with my tablet rebooting undefinitely.
I reverted then to install back the ASUS stock Rom from their website :
- I downloaded the file
- unzipped it (since it contains another zip)
- put it on a micro SD
- Booted into CWM
- installed the zip
I ended with a working tablet on the stock rom JB 4.1 but know I wanted to try again CM but I cannot access recovery anymore. I can access the bootloader but when I select RCK I get the droid laying on his back with the warning sign.
I thought I would need to flash another recovery (TWRP or other) using fastboot but now when I plug the tablet to my PC it keeps telling me that the device is not recognized. I tried to install the USB driver but it doesn't get detected.
Can anyone please help ? The tablet is working but I am afraid that it has lost some of its capabilities.
Thanks

What Windows version are you running?
You may have to uninstall the drivers for your MTP device before installing new ones as well as disabling Windows to automatically install drivers for a new device, then manually point it to the Universal Naked Drivers folder.
Or downlaod Android SDK tool ad through it the Platform Tools and USB drivers.
BTW: When you flashed the stock firmware you lost your custom recovery. That's why you see the dead Droid - it's the stock recovery.
If you can't get fastboot to work you can use Motochopper to root your JB 4.1 stock firmware and then GooManager to install the latest TWRP recovery.

I have tested it on WinXP, Win7, Ubuntu and another box with Win XP. Always same thing the device is not recognized.
When I try to update the driver and point it manually to the naked drivers it cannot detect them.
I guess that even for running Motochopper I will need to get USB working to be able to root my device.
Any help please ? I am stuck with a sluggish stock mod that buries the perfs of my device.

Then it's a driver problem and it's solvable. What do you see in Device Manager under Portable Devices with your tablet connected? Did you uninstall the driver and re-install it?
Did you try to install Asus Sync (which should give you compatible drivers for the TF700)?
So many driver problems lately... there's got to be a pattern to it, but what it may be beats me :what:

In the Device Manager I have nothing under Portable Devices, but under USB devices it appears an Unrecognized USB Device and a bubble notifying about an unrecognized USB device keeps popping in the task bar. Even after installing ASUS Sync it is not detected.

If you connect the tablet directly, I'm stumped. No idea why it's not recognized...

I don't have a dock and I am connecting directly with the cable. I have just reflashed it to stock rom again hoping it resolves itself but nothing.
It's driving me crazy. The stock rom is really sluggish and I want to flash it to CM
Sounds like a windows driver issue to me. You need to force windows to use the right usb drivers. You normally do this by upgrading thenm in device manager. You may have a borked windows installation to fix as well..
Try the ones I have attached.

Had the same problem.I fixed it by uninstalling the faulty usb device. Then disconnected the usb cable. Reconnected. And the drivers installed.

Im having the same problem and after one day of research I could not find a solution. I bought a use TF700 with a standard andriod on it, no mod, not unlocked, no root. When I connect it to the pc I get the same error, meaning just a USB Device showing up. Tried different PC's with different types of OS, no success.
Did you manage to fix the problem ? I would really appreciate some help because now I can't use that tablet in debug mode to test my android applications and that's all I bought it for. By the way, is there a adb tool that works wireless and doesn't neet root access or can I get root access without connecting my pad to my pc ?
Thanks for the help !
Well did you install adb fastboot drivers on the PCs you tried? Did you try it under Linux? Do you have the original Asus cable you connect it with?
adb over network is an option under Developer Options in Omni and Omni based roms - at least the LP roms. I don't think you can get that with an app you install. Probably needs to be baked into the kernel.

First of all thanks a lot for your response, didn't think anyone would still react on that post because it's quite old. Yes I did install adb fastboot drivers, the device only shows up in the usb section saying usb device not recognized. I tried nearly every driver I found, installed the Andriod SDK, the Asus Sync Tool, the naked drivers... then removed them all (including the hidden ones) and installed just the adb fastboot -> no success. I have not tried it on linux, but on windows 7, 8 and 10. Android version is 4.2.1 and Build is 10.6.1.14.10. I now unlocked it using the apk provided by asus (version 7 , 8 did not work). Still for rooting I need pc connection, so I ordered a new cable today (cable is original Asus though).
I installed the Rom Manager and that tells me the ClockworkMod Recovery and TWRP are already installed. I also tried that recovery (power + vol) and got the same result as nacef meaning " I can access the bootloader but when I select RCK I get the droid laying on his back with the warning sign." Thing is, I don't know what the previews owner did, so it might be the reason he sold the Tablet. Can I get anywhere form that Bootloader ? Maybe boot as a Superuser and then use wireless adb to root the device ?
Thanks a lot for your help, Im feeling that I have wasted the money and the only way to get rid of that feeling is to fix the problem
Grab the Puppy Linux live CD from here: http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...t/46090-guide-adb-fastboot-linux-live-cd.html
It has adb fastboot already installed. If you don't get a connection with that one the problem would be tablet side, not Windows related.
I booted using that Puppy Linux and followed the Guide but no success. After entering "adb devices" I get the output "list of adb devices attached" and than a blank space. So I tried booting in fastboot like you described in your guide and entered "fastboot devices" but that also gives me nothing. Fastboot works though (as it's already included in that image) so I tried a bunch of other fastboot commands but that just results in "waiting for the device".
I don't know what to do now, it has something to do with the tablet itself. Im waiting for the new cable but don't think thats gonna change anything.
You are not trying to do this through the dock port, right? You are connecting the tablet directly to the PC?
The only answer I have left is either a broken cable or one of the pins in the port is bent or broken. Get a magnifying glass and check them out.
I connect my tablet to my two laptops, one is win 8.1 and the other osx, neither shows any sign of knowing the tablet is connected at all.
it does not prompt me to instal any drivers, i dont see it in device manager though i could be missing it. definitely doesnt show up in file explorer as a drive. have tried switching from mtp to ptp and back again. I have no dea. The same cable when connected to the charger works fine, but no sign of life on a computer.
I'm trying to root it and get CM10 on there but this is stopping me in my tracks.
edit: i also just tried an older windows xp computer, no luck their either.

USB debugging has been enabled and disabled multiple times. Multiple reboots. I'm going to try rolling back the firmware from .10 to .8

I wouldn't start installing custom anything without working fastboot and adb access.
- Make sure the contacts of the connector and cable are clean.
- Do the equivalent of "lsusb" under OSX to check if the tablet is detected.
- Try different USB ports.

Have tried five ports accross three computers on three operating systems. Two usb cables, and the use of the dock should have bypassed any dirty connections. I can try Ubuntu live boot tomorrow if it comes to that.
Sent it off to get fixed, they verified they had the same problem, waited weeks for a replacement part, they replaced it and sent it back. And its doing the samn damn thing. So done with this tablet.

No, and I would think a factory reset which I've done multiple times would have undone that even if I had on accident some way.

How do you connect the tablet to the PC? Always through the dock USB?
Do you have the same problem when connecting the tablet directly? Undock it, use the original cable to connect to different USB ports.
