My current daily driver modem. Technically it's a SGS4G modem but works extremely well for me and I thought I'd share it.

Data speeds are consistent with the UCKJ1 modem I was running. Wi-Fi works great, no issues so far. And I'm not having the error sending msgs over 160 characters like I am with all the latest leaked Infuse modems.

Flashed, so far its fine I'll let it settle and see how it does.

Yes, it can have the clock glitch, but otherwise its the best.

Beside the clock glitch, anyone has problem with GPS (like ... very slow lock in)?

How's this modem on battery drain? Same as KK1? (terrible?)

really i got the kernel running as well. still gotta work on factoryfs and cache isnt really important.

Yea...I got the kernel...I just don't have that much experience with the kernels yet...I got cache.rfs extracted but stuck on factoryfs.rfs...lol

i haven't tested beyond flashing and seeing if it boots and connects. the kernel is working over kk3 as is the modem. the factoryfs well ill see if anything can be extracted from it. but i dont know what advantage that'll have over just running kk3 if any.

Just flash this modem and data connection seems faster. Specially since i live in an atomic bomb shelter, anything that gets good data connection is good for me

Just a fair warning that this gave me the worst battery life I've ever seen. It drained 5% in 5 minutes after flashing, so I reverted back to kk3

You can't really make any kind of decision on battery life unless you let it run on it for a few days. I've started with horrible battery life before, but then it usually even itself out in the end.

Right. Five minutes is barely any time to get a fair assessment. I would recommend atleast 3-4 days before arriving at one.

I also got fast battery drain right after flashing. Gave it a reboot and a few hours later, battery has only gone down 2%.
Just needs a reboot. Then your good to go.

Thank you. I wasn't aware that modems needed to settle in, and I will try it out again. I just have not had an issue with drain that bad before

So stopping by xda I noticed an anti throttle thread with an actual solution.
I have tested this myself!
The data use still shows up on your account, but you are never slowed!
Change apn to internet2.Voicestream.com

It only works for a few hours, maybe even a day or two, but it doesn't work, I've tried everything. That's been debunked for a while.

I just did it two days ago, I was over a gig over my limit. And still streaming netflix two days in a row

Well in the thread i posted lots of people are doing it. Its an apn not set up for throttling anymore. It would never take 3 full days on two devices well over the limit to get throttled

Yup, it is working for me too...streaming netflix and over as well.

I should have done this weeks ago. I went over the limit this month and I've been having 2g data speeds for a week and a half. It sucks. If this apn doesn't work then ill just have to never use 4g hotspot to play xbox online again. Lol

No go on $50 monthly plan here...resturants,beach areas,etc I frequent have wifi so no biggie. I wish androids worked on my old $20 ul data/text plan tho. I never really used the net alot more so cuz tmobile just got 3g here mid last year.

Nah it was perfect. I was actually in a 4g area and full bars.
The status bar will tell u ur on 4g when ur on 3g or 4g, so its hard to tell unless.u do a speed test

Not quite sure, I don't use bt, data( I'm always in wifi range), brightness constantly low and I use the user space or on demand governers they seem to work quite well. My battery lasts all day from when I wake up at 6am until around 10pm.

Always biggest troll, the open says no other roms besides sky ics....other than that are you running nightlies or team chopsticks cm9? I want to switch over when all the bugs have been worked out so I can use as a daily rom, do you know if anyone fixed the HDMI out for cm I heard it doesn't work properly.

I started having problems with battery life issues after update 17 but turning off back up my data in back up and reset has helped a ton. There also might be something wrong with google services constantly downloading something I stopped it with droidwall for awhile but after turning back up off it seems to have stopped hope this helps.

Turning off the backup does help a lot. Here is also the option to tell wifi to stay on only while charging when sleeping. Its set to be on at all times by default, but will help quite a bit while asleep. Hit Wifi, then hit menu, then advanced settings.
To android vets this a well known, but it may help some android noobs get that stellar battery life their searching for.

Does 4g not work?
I'm showing 3g right now and normally get 4g in the area i'm in (i'm at work not home).
NVM it just showed the H symbol over 3g. I know it's Fake 4g, but normally here never drop to 3g on GB, seems to be more stable at 3 and rarely get H.

The way ics asop roms handle 3g over 4g is unless you NEED 4g it will default to 3g. Update a app or two and see what happens.

Ahh very cool. NOw i've read about the wifi signal issue which isn't an issue except for wifi calling. Guess it doesn't matter since it crashes but in the future if that takes off and works.

Flashed it last night. Everything is great except the wifi calling. Can't make and receive calls.

Love this. Only issue I have been having is wifi is slow even tried various modems from FB but each seems to have a downfall, lb6 made wifi fastest out of them all but then my service bars bounce up and down and lose signal inside buildings. Still figuring all this stuff out since this is my first flash. Thanks!

Sorry if this has been answered or I missed a thread...is the difference between this version and 20130227 is that wi-fi calling works on this ROM?

No. And wifi-calling still doesn't work on ICS... closest it got was accepting text messages, but the wifi app still crashed on calls.

It's a kernel thing. Proton kernel doesn't do bln but hefe will. The downside I think is that the backlights will stay on while the screen is on. Although I think some people have both working with some combination of rom and kernel. Ultragen I think.
