Is everyone's Gmail app wilding out? - Asus Transformer TF700

For some reason today Gmail is not working so well. I've been trying to access this email from Papa Johns and it won't execute 'Show picture' without doing a immediate force close.
I cleared cache and force stopped the app and no go. After trying after the force stopped app it's acting even worse.
Why Gmail be wilding out now.
Everything else is working rock solid post the .30 firmware update. Chrome is actually acting like x86/x64 Intel based Chrome app i.e. stable and working and no lag.

I was getting authentication errors earlier, seems like they are having issues today.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda premium

It has been messing up for me as well, especially after the .30 update.

Mine has become so unstable that I quit using it and switched to the Email app. Crashes, lockups, etc. I tried restarts, cold boots, clearing cache and data, uninstalling/reinstalling updates, using a memory cleaner, limiting background apps, killing other tasks/apps - all to no avail. I saw it to some degree earlier but not much - it definitely got much worse with .30.

I'm having issues with several of the Google Apps now. I have no idea what changed.

Oh my. I almost said no problems here and then decided to try....
Closes every time.. Maybe can just open mail and then just closes. No reports no nothing
.
Edit. Seems like it only crashes when launched from the widget. Couldn't get it close when opened from the icon.
I think this is a memory related issue again. Because when opened from the icon it loads a second or two. From widget opens instantly because it is there preloaded I guess. But from icon launched it loads the app to the memory. Just speculations..

the gmail app has never worked perfectly for me.
after reboot it does work for a while, but then suddenly it starts hanging and crashing.
And at the moment it starts doing that i just need to reboot, even really killing all the app/services related to that doesn't help
So i guess there is some leak somewhere. I never have any problems on my SGS2 with gmail. So it has to be something in this build.

Might be related to the "show pic" and not Papa John nor gmail.
Actually so far since the update Everything on my TF700 is smooth as butter .
Sorry 2hear these few quirks, lol

Mainstream apps like Maps and Gmail getting broken to the point of unusable is more than a quirk. This is one of the things that I have found frustrating with Android across the six different devices in my household - figuring out what doesn't work after just minor updates like .30. I'm a professional s/w engineer/architect with 41 years experience so I have a pretty good feel for the difficulties of development for multiple platforms but that doesn't make me feel any better when I suddenly can't read my email or view maps and have to develop workarounds. Not a great selling point either when I show the TF700T to my coworkers - "Yeah, other than maps and email, it works great."
Dave

GMail and Maps have crashed once or twice for me since the update but all of those crashes have been due to the NVIDIA driver bug in the ASUS kernel according to the dmesg utility, so in my case, the crashes are ASUS kernel caused rather than anything Google has done. So, FWIW, they do not seem any more problematic than before for me. I still use my work arounds and still use the apps with only a small amount of hassle.
The Google apps have always used the driver (as well they should, if the driver is not garbage it'll increase performance, LOL). This is an ASUS problem it's been in their Tegra3 ICS kernel from day one and it looks like stability changes at updates because the updates affect the memory fragmentation on your device (this is why a bunch of people will say "looks like stability has improved" and then another group rushes in and says "the update really messed with apps/games/etc, nothing works anymore!". I wish there was some way the importance of this bug could be escalated with them. The good news is JB will fix it because it'll have a 3.x kernel.

Yeah, same here. GMAIL is dorked hard; maps too from time to time. I agree though, its not a Google problem, its a driver issue from ASUS.

My Apps missing apps?

This morning, went to market->My Apps on my Xoom, and it's only showing about half of my apps. No apparent pattern to what is missing (and I can see that market still has them, just its not seeing them associated with my account.) It was fine yesterday, and no updates on my end.
Anyone else seeing this?

When you scroll down your list in MyApps, do you see a list of uninstalled apps after the installed apps? If not, look at the menu (the 4 stacked up lines in upper right hand corner) and click on purchase history. That should have all the apps you've downloaded and you should be able to reinstall the missing ones, unless Google Market thinks they are no longer compatible with your Xoom.

No, they aren't listing as uninstalled, not listing at all. Purchase history on the market.android.com web site is showing them, with install completed. So far, I think I've only seen free apps missing, but need to check more closely. But it's not all free apps, some remain.
Ok, one new data point. My market account is shared between my Xoom and my Photon. Just checked on the Photon and it is still showing apps in my apps that are not showing up on the Xoom (like Adobe Flash.) Very strange...

A simple reboot should solve the problem. It has happened to me a few times at random, but not as of lately. Not sure if the market runs into some issues or the system itself, but after a reboot everything should pop up and be just fine. It always did for me when I had this issue.

Rebooted, no change. Dug further, I'm only seeing paid apps, plus Google Maps and Videos in the list. But if I go in market to one of the other apps (for instance, Kindle), the market page offers open/manage, not install, so at that level it knows I have downloaded/installed the app.
Sent off a "Contact Us" to Google.

Response from Google yesterday asked me to remove updates to Market. Problem was, I haven't received any updates to Market. So latest is that this is a problem they've seen in some other cases, no current fix, but a "specialist" will be getting in touch with me. No further followup today.
eric
Two days, two nags on the support email, no contact from the "specialist".
Found an app that I had installed that wasn't showing up had an update. Navigated to the app in market, and it showed update. Did the update. As the update finished, the app flickered into the My Apps list for about 2 seconds, then disappeared out of the list.
eric
Well, nagged Google again today, at least for a hint of when there might be a fix. Did get a response - basically we know there is a problem, we have no estimate for a workaround or a fix.

Here's what I would try if I were you:
1. Go to the options, applications, manage applications, all, and then scroll down and click the Market. Since you are having major issues it sounds like, I would recommend that you just hit clear data for the Market app. Maybe restart before you open the market again. See if that helps at all.
2. Just out of curiosity I would install the latest market update that was released for phones. I would see if the problem was still persistent there in the new market app. This market was intended for phones at the moment, but it looks like it will support tablets soon. It seems to fit pretty well on the Xoom. If all goes well, maybe you can stick with that one for a bit.
Here you can find the most recent apk for the market that was released for the phones some days ago: Android Market 3.1.3
That's really the only advice I can think of. If you were rooted you would wipe data, caches, and dalvik cache to start a fresh new install to see if that changes anything. On technical speaking terms: there really is not much else you can do if this all does not work for you. Never seen anyone experience this before.
Thanks for the suggestions. Just tried both, and neither made a difference. Actually, pretty surprised 2) didn't make at least something different about the problem. I'm starting to wonder if the problem is something on the server/account side...
Google says they have seen others with the problem and are working on it, guess I'll just have to wait them out.

Sounds like it's server sided to me, which is really odd. I suppose it is a very unknown problem that only a very select few people have run into. Like I said, I have never seen this issue before on the Xoom.
I tried my best to help, but it's beyond anything we can deal with personally. Google says that they are working on this problem, so just hang in there.
Yup, will have to wait for a Google fix. Thanks for the replies!
eric
I'm not sure if you fixed it yet but here goes. I had the same problem; more than half of my apps would not show up under the "My Apps" list, even though if I searched for them in the market I could still update/uninstall them. I also searched through the forums but none of the suggestions helped. I finally fixed it tonight. Here's what I did:
(Oh yeah, you'll need Titanium Backup to be able to use the Market Doctor)
First I went to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications.
Selected the Market. Cleared cache, data, and uninstall updates.
Then immediately (I suggest you have it ready as a background app) I opened Titanium Backup and ran the Market Doctor. The reason i say 'immediately' is because the Market will re-update itself fairly fast so you have to get it done before it does so since I believe the Market Doctor does not work with the new Market.
That was pretty much it. When I opened the Market I saw that all my apps actually showed up in the My Apps list even after the Market updated itself. Hope it works for you.
I think you need to be rooted to use Titanium Backup, don't you? I'm running stock.
Nope, no more followup from Google at all. And now, even if I manually go to the market entry for an app, it won't always show me the "update" button, even though there is an update available.
eric
3 business weeks in, no fix, no workaround, not even an update email that they are still working on it. Google has a lot of customer support ground to cover to be a consumer company, and for now (3 weeks) I can't update my apps.
eric
Still getting the runaround from the Google Android Market Team. "At this time, I'm unable to provide a timeline for resolution, though I can assure you that we're aware of the issue and actively investigating. Thank you for your patience!" every time I nag them for the last 4 weeks. No request for more data from me, debug/logging version to run, etc.
So Monday I asked to have the case transfered to the manager. Get a new email, from "Richard" (no last name, same email address as the prior support member) saying the case had been transferred to him, and saying exactly the same text. Replied asking if there was anything I could provide to help, no response in now two days.
Looks like Google still hasn't learned anything about customer support. Can't wait to see how they do with Moto if the deal goes through...
eric
So "Richard" wrote back, explaining that they all use the same email address, and carefully avoiding answering my question about his role, i.e. was he really a supervisor/manager.
He told me that they have identified the source of the problem, so don't need any further information from me. No, there is not a fix available of any kind, and he doesn't know when there will be one. No, there is no work around other than calling up each app individually in Market and seeing if there is an update (not very practical for my large number of apps.)
At this point, I'm tired of beating a dead horse. I know we aren't Google's customers, we're their product, but they still have to learn to take user satisfaction seriously.

Not sure what to say at this point. If it was more widespread it would have been fixed right away. But, if it appears that they have now identified the problem, the coders will resolve it within days from now.
My final suggestion is to make a new email account altogether and try that. See if it still is the same problem. If so: It is your device, not Google.

It's not the device, because the problem is also replicated on the web site. Also, remember the Xoom is the reference device for Honeycomb (and I'm running stock), so still a Google issue if it is Xoom specific.
Given it's been a month and they haven't been interested in getting any further data from me, I'm not overly optimistic that it will be fixed in the next few days, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

Google Maps crashing all the time

works just fine for me, offline maps and all
works fine on mine too (I'm on .26 WW, it also worked on .22)
on which version are you?
have you tried to delete the app cache?
have you installed the latest update for maps (01.08.2012)?
I also noticed that Gmaps always crashes when I hold the tablet in portrait mode. No problem in landscape.
Hi, I was having problems the last few times I used it, did the cache increase sizes and all, with no luck. What I tried right now, * appears * to be working and have fixed the problems. (Disclaimer, I haven't spent that much time with it, so not sure if it's fixed or what - but from my previous experience, it seems like it worked.)
I did a "cold boot" on the device that I read on other forums. TF 700 Forums
You will NOT lose any data! This is not a hard reset. It takes a few seconds longer to reboot (just this one time) with some diagnostics/debug tools on screen. But since then, it has soo far helped Google Earth. (I know your questions was related to maps specifically, but this could be the same thing.)
Hope this helps!

Interestingly it does the same on my TF300T too. Works like a charm on my Galaxy Note though.

I suspect that most of the google maps crashes are caused by the nvidia GL driver physical memory allocation bug. You can be pretty sure this is the cause if google maps crashes every time you start it but rebooting solves it for a while. Or you can check dmesg in a terminal for the kernel error message I talked about here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30737043
Note you would need to run dmesg fairly quickly after maps crashes since the kernel logs are polluted with debugging messages which ASUS seems to have rather sloppily left in the kernel.

Me too....
I have had exactly the same problem, but also with GMail. Both Maps and Gmail both crash and stop working. No message or error message. Happens so frequently, it makes the apps unusable. I have found small relief if I try to purge the memory of the tablet prior to using the app, but that is a terrible state of affairs if this great tablet has so much trouble working the most fundamental of apps....
Very frustrating ... I came from having the Acer A500, and never had an ounce of trouble...

I am hoping that I am not speaking too soon, but the problem of crashing apps on my Infinity seems to have stopped. This is a weirdsituation as the only apps that seemed to have problems are the ones from Google. Google Maps, GMail etc. What I did was cleared the cache in Google Maps and also downloaded an app FMR Memory Cleaner. Now I am not sure which item did the trick, but I haven't had a crash for about 3 days now and that is a big improvement. I hope others might find similar success.

This is the correct answer.
It is in fact the correct answer to a great many problems/questions on the ICS TFs. This is the problem with nearly every Google app. This is the reason games "designed for Tegra 3" crash consistently on the flagship Tegra 3 tablet. This has probably generated a significant number of RMAs. etc, etc. If this bug had never existed, probably a fourth to a third of the problem threads on the XDA TF Forums and other related boards would not exist.
Some people will claim they don't "have" it or that they have "fixed" it by some hokey method, but this is untrue because it's a driver and memory issue that exists at the kernel level and exists on every TF running the ASUS stock kernel.
The reason people think they can fix it (or think they may not have the problem) is because:
They can work around it
When and how it manifests is highly random and configuration dependent.
I.e. When and how often it manifests depends heavily on the memory state of the system at any given point in time, which in turn depends on a lot of stuff.
So, for example, if you have a bunch of apps/services installed (and virtually everyone's setup is different in this regard, even your own setup will vary over time) it makes a huge difference in how often and when you are going to see it. It's kind of like playing Russian Roulette except it is a giant revolver with 10000 chambers and there can be anywhere from 1 to 10000 bullets chambered every time you pull the trigger (run an app, install a new app, start a new service, etc).
So there are no fixes at the user level (aside from unlocking and installing a custom kernel): ASUS is the only one who can truly fix it for a stock TF.
So, for us, there are only workarounds. After owning five TF devices all of which have regularly been affected by this bug, here is how I deal with it:
On first crash: Run FMR Memory Cleaner, rerun crashed app, this will often "fix" it for a long period if I have not got a lot of stuff installed.
If app crashes after FMR, rerun FMR again. This sounds crazy but if you rerun FMR two times in succession it will usually allocate so much RAM it will force the launcher to reload. NOTE: IT WILL LOOK LIKE THE LAUNCHER HAS CRASHED, IT HASN'T. Wait like 30seconds to a minute for it to restart. Now rerun your app. This seems to give me a new lease on life for 90%+ of the crashes.
However, if your app crashes AGAIN. You guessed it: Cold Boot. Silently curse ASUS and NVIDIA as the machine reboots if it makes you feel better.
NVIDIA discovered acknowledged and FIXED the bug earlier this year. ASUS has either through ignorance, laziness, or malice not incorporated that fix into any of their code prior to the JB kernel for the Nexus 7 and the TF300 (which they probably picked up by osmosis for the 3.x kernel source). IMHO, given the prevalence and impact of this issue, this is evidence that whoever is directing/driving their FW development and/or applications engineering is criminally incompetent.
We will continue to have these issues until ASUS either: fix ICS (won't happen) or release JB. I consider my device usable because I am aware of the issue and can almost always get it to do what I want without a full reboot. However, I pity the poor confused folks whose config causes them to see this often but do not have any technical understanding of the issue or the workarounds.
Unfortunately, I'm getting Gmail crashes even shortly after doing a cold boot. I tried uninstalling updates this AM but that didn't help. I'll have to try your Step (2) as I got a crash after running FMR Memory Cleaner. I think I already tried that as I did see the Launcher issue you mentioned. Really frustrating as between Gmail and Email, I have different problems. I've been trying K-9 but I don't really care for the interface. Maybe I'll just have to continue using my Xoom for mail (Or my Galaxy S3, truly the most solid Android device I have owned).

Like zenaxe explained, the reason for a crash depends on a lot of stuff. This is why so many do not have the same symptoms you seem to be having. It might even be caused by some other app, rather than the Gmail app itself, but on it suffers from the side effects of that "rouge" app.
Step 1 is to eliminate all unnecessary apps from running in the background. You'd be amazed at what gets started when your reboot in completed. The easiest way is to list all tasks using System Tuner's task mananger (enable the System view aswell, no need to enable Kernel). From that list you can probably kill a bunch of apps, but usually the just restart so it's better to uninstall (so they won't start up again), or make sure you disable the Activities/Receivers that make the app (re) start on "its own". Disabling Activities/Receivers could render your app inoperable, so be careful what you disable.
Step 2, uninstalling updates is usually not the solution. Keep it up to date, as that one will have the most "knowledge" stored in it's code. Meaning, if Google found an issue with another app and the Gmail app, they might have worked around it in a newer version.
This is all from my own experience. When I first got the tablet, I went crazy in the play store and downloaded every single app I thought might be of use. After only just 1 week it had weird symptoms and apps would crash a lot. I decided to start over (factory date reset) and take a different approach. I still try out a lot of apps, but I started to use blue stacks to do all the "messy" install/tryout/uninstall, until I decide on the one or two apps to use.
Keep it clean and mean.

Constant Reboot...re:Dropsync...IRONY!!!

I'm having an issue with my tablet constantly rebooting during Dropsync's initial setup and sync with my Dropbox folder. I setup Dropsync to sync photos from my dropbox folder and after about a dozen or so downloads, the Infinity locks up and then reboots. Once the tablet reboots, it will continue to sync for a short while and the same thing happens again and again unless I'm quick enough to disable Dropsync.
The irony is that I was about to post a thread here using my laptop, while my Infinity was doing it's dropsync thing. The thread was going to be about how pleased I had become with my Infinity over the last few days after solving some of the issues I was having. I'll still post the successes I've had, since this dropsync issue does not change that. I've found that some of the lag that I've been experiencing is app related and not limited to the TF700. The Netflix app and the game Gears and Guts were two such apps that as it turns out, are laggy on many many systems, so I can't blame the Infinity. Turning on "force 2D rendering", has helped a lot, especially with Netflix. I was also getting lag while scrolling on some websites but that turned out to be browser related since the same page worked flawlessly with another browser. As for the general lag and sluggishness, a factory reset seemed to take care of those issues (thank goodness for Titanium).
So here I am, getting ready to write a "I misjudged my Infinity" thread, and now I'm getting crashes and reboots because I'm pushing my tablet "too hard" by downloading files? WTF!? My friggin phone has no problem with this! I'm re-frustrated (is that a word?).
Any other users of Dropsync or a similar app have this issue? Is this something that is fixable via software (update or ROM)? I think either way I'm going to return my tablet while I'm in my 30 days. I'll exchange it for a new one and see if it fairs any better but the leash on this thing is getting shorter and shorter. It's too bad, I so want to love it.
UPDATE
I'm now running drop sync as I'm typing this on my Infinity. It's running flawlessly. The difference? I changed the destination folder from the external sd card to internal memory. It's a work around. There shouldn't be an IO issue that precludes the use of the sd card for large downloads but at least I can live with it. But for the price I paid for this, along with the keyboard I shouldn't have to "live with it". I'll hold out hope for a fix.

Netflix mystery

First of all. Not trolling.
My netflix app was suffering from what it seems like most infinity users were suffering from- painfully slow scrolling. Not even setting force hardware gpu setting did not solve the problem. But today I fired up the netflix and the problem has gone away! Smooth scrolling with almost no lag. I know there is an netfix update, but I have not updated. The problem of lagging when typing to search still exists though. I am happy but quite puzzled over how it "just" fuxed itself. Anyone here with more brain power care to explain?
I am running stock 26 build.
As chief Dan George said "sometimes the magic works and sometimes it does not"
My experience, I followed the "force 2D GPU" on to solve my Netflix issue, but it didn't work (still the same, impossible to scroll etc..), then I did a reboot and still no luck. The next day it works beautifully. So the only thing I may think is something with force 2d hardware did not really kick in until later or a glitch issue with force 2d on. I then turn off the force 2d and Netflix back to non function again, then I re enable 2D and it stills not working, then did a reboot and this time it works right away. So my theory is enabling "force 2D" will resolved Netflix issue but it may not kick in right away.

Netfilx had a update on my device on the 6th. After the update it made the app. work much like it did for me when I used the Prime."Force 2D GPU" is the required on my device anymore. Once the page is fully loaded, it more around fine.

Anyone have a copy of the .apk file with the new NetFlix? I have NetFlix via a DNS Proxy, but don't get automatic updates to the application, due to being in Europe.

Thanks Seolyang for pointing this out. Netflix works great now. I went and turned off 'force 2d hw rendering' and it still performs the same. bout damn time!
Yes, my Netflix is working great now. Funny how people were returning their devices over a little software issue like that.
+1. I've turned off Force GPU and the newer version works basically like it did with force GPU. Not perfect, but infinitely more usable. I considered the UI non-functional without force GPU on the prior release. Really glad to see this fixed on the TF700. Netflix is an important app.
Mine is still super laggy even with the latest update
I think all of Netflix are running slow.
I tried to demonstrate the app to a colleague and the app totally undersold the Tranformer Infinity.
I don't know what to say about this.
I never experienced this problem with the Transformer Prime.
I tried searching for something on the app tonight and a bunch of search items showed up but it was impossible to select any of them. By touch or my trackpad. Most annoying bug ever.
Netflix issues of lag has already been fixed. By app update and latest .30 update. Its smooth and lag free now... at least on my end

Nice... Improved alot better but I notice a slight lag when you were browsing netflix a few times. Only thing I wished you should have added in the video was scrolling a tv show with seasons and episodes to see if it was smooth also in netflix.
Nice to see they fixed it without needing to use the 2D forced.
The TV shows series interface stinks. Just do a big list that scrolls. I'm luke warm on the choosing the season thing.

Here is another video of navigating TV SERIES. Initially there was a brief pause but after it loaded more it was smoother
Ok I completely forgot to do the tv show season/episodes scrolling. I'll do another take. I got nothing else to do atm.

To me, that still lags like crazy. Here is my experience with netflix. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lw6J_ZC3MD0 Impossible to search for a specific movie/show. Note, the reason the movie starts on the infinity is because I accidentally hit it on the main page outside of the search box. I would say that someone should do a side by side comparison with other tablets to show how bad it lags and doesn't work.
Sorry, I don't know how to insert the video like you have in your posts, lol.
Here is why it "all of a sudden was better" . They fixed things on their end without any update.

There must be something going on with your tablet? What are you running? Could be something modified or a 3rd party app that could be causeing this. Its running very smooth as you can see from my video. And Netflix has fixed the lag issues and unresponsiveness. Maybe clear data on Netflix, uninstall reinstall.

i have the search not working problems as well. i does not work on on my acer 500 either. I've read that because app uses html5 netflix can reprogram some things without an actual update from play store.

Multiple Facebook Processes issue

I seem to be having a weird issue with my S8+. Whenever I open a Facebook notification, instead of going into the already open Facebook app and refreshing to the Notification point, I get a new Facebook app instance launched (up to 3 at a time).
Also the erratic notifications are not visible in the main app, even if I refresh.
I have only one Facebook account, no third party FB apps. Just the Facebook (not Beta) app and FB Messenger app (and that works OK).
Given that the FB has burned through half my 2GB data allowance this month I'm inclined to blame some of it on the triple instance eating through resources.
I've been reading a lot on how the real FB app is a total battery hog and Data hog due to running background processes. I can't comment on your odd issue when opening FB but suggest you consider an FB alternative. I'm trying out Friendly for FB. It includes Messenger too. Seems to be way less intrusive (running in background) but I can't quote any stats for you. I am seeing better battery life now. I don't look too much at data usage since I have unlimited. Good luck!

It's because the Facebook app sucks. I would suggest turning any auto play/upload options to save data by the way.

One issue was that. Had it off on my Nexus 6P. Then forgot to turn Autoplay off on this one (and thinking that Autoplay was off by default on Cellular. It wasn't).

Yeah that was burning a lot of people when Facebook first enabled it and of course it's on by default in the app when you install it clean.
Same issue!
I'm also a Nexus 6P upgrader, and I'm experiencing the same issue! It's actually the ONLY annoyance I have with the 8+, though I was also quite fond on generic Android, so I'm working to adapt my phone settings to that experience, as much as I can...
I'll be interested to see if there's a solution to this. Currently, I'm just avoiding clicking on the notifications, or remembering to close the extra Facebook app(s) if I do.

I have at times used many alternatives like Friendly, especially with my Nexus 6P which had an awfull battery, but keep going back to FB apps. Seem more featured and polished to me.
Yeah I have this too not seen a fix yet
Same thing happening to me. Are you also getting the Facebook status bar issue where it's going wonky all the time?
I think as a workaround if you just launch FB app and go to notifications within the app you are fine. As you said if you go from a FB notification it seems to open a new FB process which is definitely not good for battery or memory.

Problem is the app doesn't show the (same) notifications I get from SystemUI. So I get different notifications from Android and different from the app. It's like they are fighting each other.
I tried disabling the Samsung preinstalled Facebook packages but the issue remains.
I seem to have resolved the issue.
First a couple of notes.
I've had the phone since May. I got the June and July updates, but issue was not resolved.
I did a full reset and issue persisted.
I did a full reset without any restores from Google or Samsung. Didn't even login to my accounts. Same thing.
So I did a full flash of the latest official ROM using Odin. In the process I used the European unbranded CSC instead of my provider's (CYV Cyta Vodafone).
Problem solved. So apparently it was something to do with that specific branch. Minor market would also explain why I seem to be the only one reporting this.
Hmmmm! I seem to have this problem. Not rooted on a G955W. Anymore clues?
I do have it as well
Same issue on note 8
I seem to have a similar issue where Facebook will have more than one instance running after a while. I can alternate between the two instances running by pushing home and then going back into the app so for instance it will be in a video where I left off and then when I push home it will go to a an instance where I am commenting on a post and then when I push home again and go back it will go back to the video. The only way to temporarily fix it is to force quit the app for me.
