Hi,
I wonder if anyone else had the same issue. I can't seem to get my SHW-M440S do data roaming in another European country. I have the M44SKSJLI3 firmware installed. I have the correct APN settings for my SIM card (T-Mobile Hungary), and when I select 'data roaming on', it will warn me about the high charges, but then no data connection is established. (internet doesn't work, the 'data traffic' icon is not showing on the top bar)
I wonder what the issue is? did anyone else encounter the same problem?
best regards,
Akos

Hi there.
I've a problem with my O1.
I've updated it to Gingerbread V20C stock and have a problem with the mobile internet connection.
My mobile operator is H3G italy. When there is no signal under H3G network it swap to another operator for roaming and the 3G connection drop. No problem till there, 'cos i disabled data roaming.
But when the H3G connection come back, it does not connect to internet. I've checked several times for apn parameters and they are ok, and it isn't a network problem for sure.
Any hint?
Sorry for my poor english, i hope you can understand my question as well...
3G problem with GingerLOL 1.5 (Vietnam)
Hi all,
I'm come from Vietnam. I met problem with 3G connection after install GingerLOL 1.5 ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118685).
Everything seems Ok except 3G connection.
Is there any one met the same problem ? If you knew solution for it, pls share it with me.
Thank you very much,
Hi all,
I am sorry, I have just found out the solution.
We should change APN setting, it can't detect it automatic.
In Vietnam, pls refer : tinhte.vn/thay-doi-nang-cap-firmware-280/p500-huong-dan-flash-rom-2-3-3-official-cua-lg-romania-root-753413
Other countries should take Mobile provider factor of your countries.
Thank you,
It's not a apn settings problem. My apn settings are ok and 3g connection work till the telephone lost h3g network and switch to other operator. When it come back to h3g i have the voice services but no 3g connection at all.
1) If you are not in roaming then turn off roaming, if you are in roaming then turn in on see it is working or not.
2) Just select on 2G from setting and check EDGE is working for you or not. If both the the things have same problem then talk to your ISP and confirm another phone has the same problem or you are only one who is facing this problem.
3) Some times your carrier change their APN without any notice so check they have same APN or not.
I'm sure it's not a network problem because other phones or the same phone with Froyo works with no problem at all.
With 2.3 i have 3g connection until i'm in a point where the default operator (H3G italy) have no signal so the telephone switch to the roaming operator. There the internet connection drop (i've disabled data connection while in roaming), but it's ok.
If the telephone switch again to the default operator i have no problem at all with voice services, but the 3G network connection don't come back until i reboot my O1. Other people have the same problem with the same device and the same version of android (lg stock rom) and the same operator (the only one that use roaming in italy).
I've had problems with my 3G connection too. Didn't go out of the country or anything, just turned on and turned off the 3G connection (data). Had to reboot every time it happens.
This seems a known bug with Gingerbread on P500 and h3g italy... Hope they fix soon....
Hi, I have same problem with data connection lost after return from national roaming in Slovakia (oprator O2). I have LG Optimus One with official gingerbread upgrade. Do you have some news about this problem? Thanks
Hi Guys,
Basically my provider is Virgin Uk who is an MVNO. They use TMobiles network. TMobile has an agreement with Orange so that we can use their network when the TMob/Virgin signal is not good. Once I am on the Orange network, the network name changes to 'Virgin' from the normal 'virgin'.
Note, in the notification pull down tray where you can see the current network, when I am on my home network ('virgin'), it shows as 'no service'.
Whilst I am on the 'virgin' network (actually the TMob network), I can use data without any changes to the roaming settings. If I swap over onto the 'Virgin' network (actually the Orange network), Android tells me that I am roaming and thus I have lost data. At this stage I have to change the roaming settings to enable data.
In my CM9 rom, I have an option to enable 'National Data Roaming'. Should this option allow me to use data on the 'Virgin' network (actually the Orange network)?
This doesn't appear to be the case and I have to switch on the main 'Data Roaming' option which would then mean when travelling abroad where I am actually roaming, I would get charged for any data usage.
Does anyone have ideas on how to sort this out so I don't have to keep changing my Roaming options?
Thanks
Hi
I have a Zopo ZP950+ with Etotalk ROM, from China, it is a 5.7inch Phablet running stock JB, with Quad Core and DUAL SIM.
http://www.etotalk.com/zopo-zp950-16g_p3854.html
I am in UK, with UK SIM installed (T-Mobile), so at moment not roaming, but phone constantly tells me I am roaming.
I want to use the full 3G/HDSPA connectivity so do not want to disable data.. Under Settings/More/Mobile Networks, there are no options for roaming settings to change, though there is a "data connection - off" option, but I don't want to turn data off, and the roaming warnings are intrusive when sending texts or making calls.
If I can''t "fix" the fact that Roaming indicator is constantly on, even though phone is not roaming, can I hide the warnings every time I make a call or send a text?
Any 3rd party apps out there to help?
Thanks
While I wait for an answer, I will add this: I just tried a giffgaff SIM using O2 network, all is fine, seems to be a problem only with T-Mobile SIM, called T-Mobile they said I needed a replacement SIM card, but this SIM is fine in 2 other un locked (though not Dual SIM) handsets.

Hi there I have the same issue with my Star Note II N9599 and it too reverts to Roaming and I use Orange UKeven though its now part of EE Network UK but I did find out that the handset is actually Roaming! To check this go into Dial Pad and type *hash*hash3646633hash*hash* then goto Connectivity then down CDS Information the to Radio Information then to Phone 1 and you can see if the Sim in slot 1 is truely Roaming or Not?
I have yet to find a fix for this issue but did also stumble across my Associated Network Radio Bands as follows:
GSM MODE ( SIM TRAY 1 & 2 )
EGSM900 (selected)
DCS1800 (selected)
PCS1900 (selected)
GSM850 (selected)
UMTS MODE ( SIM TRAY 1 ONLY )
WCDMA-IMT-2000 (selected)
WCDMA-PCS-1900 (greyed out)
WCDMA-DCS-1800 (greyed out)
WCDMA-AWS-1700 (greyed out)
WCDMA-CLR-850 (selected)
WCDMA-800 (selected)
WCDMA-IMT-E-2600 (greyed out)
WCDMA-GSM-900 (greyed out)
WCDMA-1800 (greyed out)
WCDMA-1700 (greyed out)
Now at best guess I take it these settings are not correct for the U.K.
If this is so then which BANDS Do I Need and how do I go about changing the greyed out ones that I cannot select to be selected as a usable Radio Band?
I have looked as best I can on Google etc but Im all new to this and not entirely sure what to look for or how to do it if possible?
I have read other sites of users being able to change the Radio Bands for other types of Handsets so I know there must be a way?
I still have the issue where I can set my phone to Register on the Orange network and it connects and gives me 3G with Data but soon after the connection decides to reset to Roaming and drops Data unless I choose to select Data Roaming?
I am using an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), so I have always had to activate "Data Roaming" in order to be able to establish a connection over the mobile data network.
Usually in my S3 which i was using before, I could see a sign next to the reception gauge which indicated me which mobile data standard my device was using at the moment (H+/E/G), even when I was roaming at these times.
Nowadays on my new Nexus 5 with stock Android 4.4 I am justing being shown the "R" sign next to the gauge, without any indicator for the standard it is using at the moment (LTE/H+/E/G).
Is there a way to disable the roaming indicator ? can anyone tell me or create a xposed module for the same if possible ?
thanks in advance. it is such a small issue but its annoying since i dont get full connection always and want to check whether i am getting 2g or 3g
Are u using Lycamobile?
Which country & network are you in?
My operator is a MVNO in the UK, but don't get the Roaming flag.
That said, when I was living in India if I travelled to a different state it would behave as you're saying - so wonder if it's more related to that than the fact it's an MVNO?
Yes am using Lycamobile and I live in Virginia, USA
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app

Hi,
I have the same problem in Spain, also using a VMNO and on stock ROM I also get the R.
When I was using customer made roms (Cyanogenmod or AOSP based) this did not happen as in the settings menu there was an option of setting National Roaming.
I am using another different device than yours (Xperia V), but it is a common problem. If anyone knows a solution, perhaps with an Xposed Module, or whatever it would be very helpful
Thanks
Same problem, I miss the data indicator while roaming
This app helped to solve my problem. It's a network monitor but it also indicates on which data network you're on.
It's called "2G 3G 4G LTE Network Monitor" available in Play Store
I have a similar problem. Not on an MVNO, but I'm using an unlimited Telmex plan in Mexico, which give lets me use my phone and data normally when roaming in Canada and US, so i really don't care to know that on roaming, but i would like to know what sort of data connection i have, if any.
I've been running a flashed 'official' 4.1.2 (Singaporean origin ROM?) for over a year now but recently have been experiencing performace niggles. Therefore I decided to do a 'factory data reset' from the settings menu to clean the tab up. It was never actually wiped before as even when I went direct from 3.2 to 4.1.2, all the applications were kept in place, so I figured it could do with a good internal flushing.
After reinstalling my apps, everything is indeed running smoother and with no real performance complaints. However, I seem to have lost my ability to use the inbuilt 3G modem for data. It still registers with the network provider as per the SIM card (in this case, o2 UK) and I can send txt messages to the number so it really is on the network and working to some degree.
Despite this, I don't have a network connection via 3G nor do the indicators of network data connectivity show on the bottom status line irrespective of whether nor not I enable 'Mobile Data' (i.e. I can't see the little 3G/HSDPA indicator or the up/down arrows). All I see is the reception strength indicator, whichever way I set 'Mobile Data'.
WiFi is still fine (subject to the 2.4GHz only restriction of the ROM).
Anyone have any ideas what I should do?

Just to follow up - the problem was more basic than an issue with the tablet hardware or flashed OS. It was an APN configuration issue. Basically the auto installed APNs were wrong and I had to manually configure a suitable APN for my pre pay mobile broadband.
Is it solved? Please update main title to SOLVED
