So I noticed earlier today that my HTC One X was lagging while playing Rope and Fly 3. I don't usually play games too much, but was waiting for class to start and deciding to play it. You could see some lag while playing this game, and this is a fairly simple game that does not require much.
Has anyone else had this problem? I haven't tried to play another game because I don't use my phone for games much. I was just curious if this was happening to anyone else

My HOXL runs great while playing games. It runs Dead Trigger on High Graphics easily. Which I have to say looks awesome. Most likely your choppy performance is the apps fault itself.

If you are on a stock ROM, the HOX goes into power-saving mode (1 core, 1Ghz IIRC) when the battery is low (below 40% IIRC).
Was your battery low?

Yea haha, sorry bout that. As far as ROM I am running Clean Rom 4.5. Battery was above 60% I'm sure. I will download another game and test it out.
I get lag on stock, unrooted (ugh) 2.2 while playing Temple Run. My AT&T Galaxy S2 never had this issue, nor does my underclocked/undervolted Galaxy Nexus. So no, OP, you're not the only one who has lag with games.

No lag what-so-ever while playing Temple Run. Have even played RipTide GP, Real Racing2, and Asphalt7 and have experienced no lag worth considering. On RipTide Gp with the resolution all the way up I noticed a slight bit of lag if you get the water to splash just right so that a lot of water drops can be seen (if you know what I mean), but that was so little it wasn't worth thinking about.
Yeah, absolutely no lag during temple run. Don't play games on my phone but from the one take I play for 12 minutes per week....no lag. Had an sgs2 too.

Has anyone noticed that almost no new hd games are compatible with the sensation? For example, when I go try to find the asphalt 6 apk file multiple sites say it is incompatible with the sensation. Also, how do I download.apk files in the default browser instead of html files?

change the .html to .apk after you download and then install
I can tell you that Asphalt 6 is looking VERY nice on this phone

Asphalt 6 and Rainbow 6 look very nice on my device. Still can't get Fruit Ninja to play correctly. I believe it's a resolution issue though

i went to the download section and it showed me the games u have bought but wouldnt work. it would download the mytouch 4g version. i sent an email but no response.
i do remember when i had called gameloft the said i can call and get my games on a new phone. that was a while back though so ill try calling again.

correct, because this phone is definitely powerful enough. THe phone comes with a HD game already. NOVA1. It plays great.

i just finished calling them and they sent me all of the games i previously bought except the ones that i havent seen in their site though.
edit: the version they sent me is 1.0.1
My problem is that I wasn't sent invoices for all of the games I purchased through their website. I also have been given free games Eternal Legacy and Lets Golf 2 by them because NOVA doesn't work on the SGS Gingerbread firmware.

GT racing is for free on the gameloft website, just click on the "samsung galaxy S2" when they ask for what kind of device you have (I got the game using a download link by SMS) the game works perfectly on my HTC sensation XE with stock rom (much better graphics then asphalt 6 in my opinion)

Is anyone playing games like modern combat 3 or GTA 3 on there HTC one s I'm curious because I'm coming from g2x and I don't think my purchased games will work here, any solutions?
Both run well and smooth on my 1S. If you purchased them in googleplaystore they are downloadable for free in your "my apps" section.
(I'm on a dutch tmo 1S (international version?) but I highly doubt there is any difference regarding this)
Though there are quite some games it wont run on my device (for now). Like certain Gameloft games and the Sims.
The only reason it won't run some Gameloft games is because they won't make them download compatible. GTA3 works fine, much better than on the g2x and n64oid is smooth as butter for me.

The t mobile version doesn't have a lot of gameloft games like modern combat 3 or asphalt 6,I bought them when i had an amaze and now i cant play them

You know I was wondering the same thing because a phone as powerful as this really should be able to run any game on the market, yet here we are. Kind of mad I can't play any Modern Combat game online. And yea the audio on GTA is a little off for me as we when I don't use a headset.

I'm guessing it because of the snapdragon S4 chip... I was happy i could download real racing 2 on my One S because i couldn't on the Amaze and now I get an error... I've been playing the PlayStation 1 emulator while I wait for games to be compatible. Sucks to have an awesome device for gaming but you can't play the high end stuff.

I can't play games that use the accelerometer.. The direction is wrong. Anyone else with this problem?
Edit: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't . Not all games have the option to calibrate the accelerometer

Same Question
It's something up with EA's servers not recognizing the device if you're on stock ROM.
If you install a custom rom, it may work. I was able to download Dead Space and Real Racing 2 running the TrickDroid rom, but couldn't on stock. Got that same error.
Dead Space crashes to homescreen when the 3D inits though, Real Racing 2 seems to work just fine, however.
edit: Using my purchased installer .apk from Gameloft when I had the G2, Modern Combat 2 installs, downloads, and at least gets into the main menu (which uses the engine for background). I assume the game itself works.

Maybe with Chainfire3D. But I didn't dare to install that.
i want to buy this games since its only 99c for my tab plus... but its not available.. already tried changing build.prop details still not letting me download it in market..

I downloaded this game from the market's and it gives me a country gate error. I purchased this when I have a kindle fire and it worked fine on that, so I copied the data files onto my 6210 but the images were all messed up. The only way for this to work is to find the mali-400 data files and even then I don't know if it would work.

A few minor things for me, the three assist options cant quite be seen under control options, but you can toggle.them off and on and figure it out for yourself. Also after finisheing a race, the engine continues to roar for an extended few seconds which is annoying.
search xda, I found a nice little cheat for 16 million cash.
not too impressed with this game so far. part 3 should be much better though.

Not sure how you got the cheat to work with the previous mentioned version. I searched the events.dat file for 350 and did not find it. My events goes from 00000345 - 00000364. This is the HD version.
i used his events.dat, race first race come in LAST.
back up your events.dat just in case.
bought and upgraded every car still have 11 million
still not liking this game too much, maybe im more a fan of the arcade style racing games

I thought as much, I'll give that a try. I'm just the opposite when it comes to racing, I prefer the simulation games as opposed to arcade. I started playing this game originally on iOS when android was just a glimmer in Google's eye.

actually im not, frustrated actually. Im used to arcade racers where you can drift a mile.
RR2 is proving to be a challenge.
But Im doing well so far.
without the cheat I would have gone mad without a fast car to compete.

It did when it was released at least (Gameloft tends to **** up big time in updates) but I've heard nothing but negative things regarding the game.
Btw, has anyone played Super Dynamite Fishing? It looks pretty funny and claims to be Play optimized.

It's ok, wasn't my type of game but I've certainly played worse, it used to be free on Getjar. and yeah it's optimized, or it was when i played it atleast

Ive heard it does. I have it on my Tablet and I got bored with it fairly quickly. It was kinda cool but not all that great.

Really? It bugged the **** out of me to be honest. The touch pad controls were way too jumpy to get a good shot off and I've only been able to play with auto-aim enabled (not why I bought a gaming phone)
Nova 3 also had abysmal touch pad control and required auto-aim IMO whereas Nova 2 got it perfect (as perfect as touch pad will ever be for me, I favor analog style).

I can live with that, but there is other thing that bugs me.. maybe it's for another thread but... I find Max Payne a shockingly disappointing game. I'm just at the beginning but...it's the whole game like this? Move from room to room, shoot some bad guys, advance the story a little bit, move to another room. Gosh this is boring. I will admit this is my first experience ever with the franchise so I did not know what exactly to expect. Bought it basically on hype and because it's made by R*, who made my beloved GTA 3.
Also how long is it? I'm not sure I won't be bored to tears mid-way although with these kinds of games (kinda movie-like experiences) I usually try to persevere and finish them. Sorry for derailing the thread.
Oh its completely about the story, the gameplay doesn't hold up particularly well and the concept of the game has been expanded upon so much over the years that its almost not worth a retread unless you are compelled to for nostalgia's sake. Max Payne 2 is actually a pretty great game even by today's standards but the first game feels very very old.

Ugh... thanks for that. Guess I still got 9mm with better graphics, better controls and online play... so I don't really have to be disappointed.
...at any rate, Gangstar Rio is actually kinda dope! Same for Virtua Tennis. I really want NOVA 3, but I'm debating whether I wanna put up with any more of Gameloft hogging space off our phones as "data".
I bought NOVA without realising it takes up 17mb data. I cant even play these games really now. I think I'm gonna go ahead and root one day

Using ZergRush method, it will either work and root, or won't. In doing so, data, contacts and anything else won't be affected either way.
Root gives you the power to knacker your phone but if you're not an idiot and don't go deleting important system processes, you're safe.

Just search "need for Speed" on the samsung app store should come up, and I do not know if your carrier will affect it.

The tegra 3 doesn't compare to adreno 320 short answer it will smoke GTA. However if the s4 anything like nexus 4 stock kernel (sim chip set I think s4 upgraded a little though) after 15 mins if chip heats up thermal control kicks in and you may get shudder.

OSMOS HD - an AMAZING game, very peaceful, looks fantastic on this 1080p screen, and runs flawlessly
there is a demo for people who want to try before you buy, but the full version is definitely worth the $3 - especially for people who are after a game that is peaceful and not rushed/hard/painful to play
