HTC One XL in South Korean LTE? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi All,
I have a question regarding use of my HTC One XL in South Korea. I am currently working in Singapore and have been using LTE service (Singtel). I will be leaving to work in Korea shortly.
Now from the link in Wikipedia (....wiki/List_of_LTE_networks), i understand that Singtel and Korean LTE providers (KT, SK) use the same LTE band (Band 3, 1800 MHz). But it think there is more to eye then just same band.
Can any fellow XDAian kindly guide me if this same device will be compatible in Korean LTE providers?
I will be very thankful for your help and suggestions.
Good Day.

I cannot say much about LTE but I can confirm 3G and that they do carry the Evo which should have the same LTE frequencies.

Kinda off topic, but what will you be doing in Korea?

[Q] Sensation 4G version

I have heard there are 2 version of HTC Sensation? one is the 4G and the other is the normal. Are the 4G available online somewhere? or have to get it in Australia??
AFAIK should be available in Canada by now (Bell/Virgin).
http://www.htc.com/ca/products/sensation4g-virgin-mobile?view=1-1&sort=0#tech-specs
http://www.htc.com/ca/products/sensation4g-bell?view=1-1&sort=0#tech-specs
What are your umts frequencies in Australia?
Europe has 900/2100:
http://www.htc.com/europe/product/sensation/specification.html
Both are the exact same phone. the 4G is what North America is calling it. Don't know if it's in Australia yet. I'm guessing you use the same bands as AT&T in the US uses (Telstra?) so if you want one that would work on the 850 band you'd have to pick up the Canadian version just released by Bell

Wil US T-Mo One S work on AT&T?

I have AT&T service in the US and was interested in purchasing a US T-Mobile gradient blue One S to use with it. Will there be any issues with 3G/4G? Does the US T-Mobile One S support AT&T's data network fully?
Yes but I believe you will only get Edge Data.
EDGE is not 3G though, right?
Anyway, to quote Amazon.com's One S Page:
It runs on T-Mobile's 4G HSPA+ networks (850 MHz;900 MHz;1800 MHz;1900 MHz;UMTS: Band I (2100);UMTS: Band IV (AWS);UMTS: Band IV (1700/2100)).

That would mean it should work on AT&T's 3G network, right? 850/1900Mhz?
Bah, this is all so confusing.
EDGE is not 3G
You won't get 3G/4G speeds on AT&T with this phone.
Yes, what he said ^^ No 3G or 4G
On GSMArena Review their is written that it is at&t friendly as it has 850/1900 MHz Bands

There's more than one version of the One S. The international One S will work on AT&T just fine.
Both the box it comes in and the specs on the T-Mo support site says the T-Mo One S supports:
Network
3G/4G Capable
GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900
Band I (UMTS2100), Band II (1900), Band IV(1700/2100), Band V (850)
So I think it would get high speeds on AT&T.
I got this same question.. so if I buy this phone on US t mobile it will work with at&t 3G..?? If so I will be buying it right now..!!

Which version of the one S do you have Tmobile or international?
US T-Mobile version, which i assume is what you guys are talking about.
Well according to videos and specs sheets t mobile HTC one s can run 3g/h on at&t (
And so, that means I will be getting HTC one s instead of att HTC one x because firstly att unlocked the bootloader and secondly there will be much more development for the htc one s because the att HTC one x is different to the international

You mean AT&T locked the bootloader...
I'm pretty sure GSM is voice/text/2G only and has not much to do with higher speed data. Somebody had posted a picture of the T-mobile One S box, which lists the bands it operates on.. which included UMTS 850 & 1900 as well as GSM 850 & 1900 (plus all the other T-mobile bands, obviously)
Whereas, as far as I can tell, the international One S does NOT have UMTS/HSDPA 1900 but does have GSM 1900

Yea. Got my international one S yesterday and I rarely get more than 3 bars and is often switching between H and 3G. Haven't run an official speed test yet but data seems to be a little slower than with my A8182 Desire (including page processing)
Also lists compatible bands on the package and does not show 1900 under UMTS/WCDMA HSDPA, only GSM

I noticed the same. I just assumed that 1900 is 1900.
Anyway, I have the T-Mobile US One S unlocked and working on ATT. It seems as fast as the one x I had before it. The only strange thing is that when I run a speed test, it says 9kbps down and 1Mbit up. Pings are 150ms.
Browsing the web, downloading apps are much faster than 9kbps. Not sure why it says 9kbps.
**Update**
Ok, so I tried a different speedtest, and I am getting results I would expect.
3.5Mbit Down
1.1Mbit UP
Again, this is the T-Mobile US version of the One S that I manually unlocked.

Where were you purchasing it from? I signed up for a tmobile contract and paid the $189 for the phone then I think I will pay the $200 ETF in a few weeks. Which would be slightly cheaper than purchasing the phone outright or the international version.

[Q] Unlocked One S from Canada (bands)

Hey guys just wondering if anybody has unlocked a One S (bought from a Canadian Carrier) and tested it out on Wind or Mobilicity.
I emailed HTC asking them about the bands supported by the phones and this is the reply I got.
Fido: HSPA 42 Mbps
Bell: HSPA 42 Mbps 2100/1900/AWS GSM 850/900/1800/1900
Sasktel: HSPA 42 Mbps
Telus: HSPA 42 Mbps
Virgin: HSPA 42 Mbps

Asked them if the other phones had the same bands
I do apologise for the misunderstanding, but the bands would be the same for the One S on each network.
That being said, I will suggest to contact Wind Mobile to verify if a unlocked phone will work to its fullest potential or not. The reason I mention this, is that some providers put a limit on the connection, on an unlocked phone.

So I was just wondering if anybody has tested this out and knows if it works on Wind or Mobilicity by just unlocking it or if the AWS bands are "locked" just like the Galaxy Note.
Wrong. Canadian One S are not AWS.
If we would have AWS onboard we would have the T-Mobile US phone

Are you sure Penta Band ONE S exist in Canada/USA ? read post #3
As for the official HTC site says. HSPA/WCDMA:Europe/Asia: 850/900/2100 MHz
BUT Your links would make sense according to the note Network bands in regions other than Europe and Asia Pacific may be different, depending on the mobile operator and your location.
I too, am trying to find out too what bands does the Canadian version support
Fido , Bell, Virgin all listed HSPA 850 1900 2100 but Telus only listed 850 1900 , so that leads me to believe 1700 is not supported.
However at the same time, the international version isn't penta band, nor the T mobile version... Where are theretailers getting their penta band One S in black?
Maybe the device is penta band from the fatory but carriered modified ?
My Telus One S arrives next week and I will unlock it but ufortunately Wind doesn't
operate in SK so I won't be able to test it.
I tried to look at the demo phone and I couldnt find the menu option to select networks.

The black unlocked international One S is for sure not pentaband as far as I know and supports less bands than the blue version. I am assuming the blue versions are all the same and just branded differently. My suspicion is Fido/Bell/Virgin/Telus aren't listing the 1700 band so that people do not buy and unlock them to use with Wind/Mobilicity.
That's too bad there has to be someone out there that has attempted to try it on Wind/Mobilicity. It's such a pain how every site/company is showing different specs.
The European version will not work with AWS. Currently the only *confirmed" AWS version is the T-Mobile US version. However if S-Off is ever achieved then flashing a T-Mobile US radio could "unlock" the bands in the European version and other versions a la the Snapdragon Galaxy Note.

I am aware the the European one does not have AWS. However I am not asking about the black European model. In Canada we have the blue model just like the one with T-Mobile in the States which leads me to believe that the Canadian version=the American version; I just need some confirmation.

Sorry didn't know that, went to the HTC UK site and found all the major carriers that had the One S and they were all black. Why does it have to be so difficult for companies to get their specs straight...

Does anybody mind looking under the cover for the model / FCC ID / Industry Canada certification numbers and reporting back with the carrier they got the phone from and the FCC ID. They should be printed on the label near the headphones / headset jack.
These are the variants available in Canada.
PJ40100: UMTS Band V (850)
PJ40110: UMTS Band II (1900)/IV (AWS)/V (850)
PJ40200: UMTS Band V (850)
PJ40210: UMTS Band II (1900)/V (850)
I went to Telus and Bell today ( the Fido and Sasktel stores didn't have working demo models ), I checked the FCC tags and both of them showed "PJ40110". on the top line.
I didn't look at the FCC ID or IC.

Awesome! Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it. Now I can safely go out and buy this with no worries
Please be aware that you will buy an unsupported phone, unlock the bootloader to root the phone, most probably voiding your warranty in the process (there's talk that the root-only (and not requiring unlocked bootloader) method for the NA One X works on the One S) then Sim-unlock the phone (by a paid code or the new hack), find the APNs for your carrier...
... And hope that all works...
I don't want to scare you but make sure you fully understand all risks. Specially if you buy the phone outright and don't have an account on that carrier...
Despite the fact that I can't test data (as it should be locked in my account) here is a shot telling that I'm on 3G UTMS (which can't be done with this SIM on a non-AWS phone like my iPhone).
I got one from Virginmobile had it unlocked it and am now using it on Mobilicity.
The Rep at the store assured me it wont work but i tried it and it did.
Reason for buying from there was because it was on sale.

There are countless threads on this. The phone is unlocked, but you probably wont be able to pick up LTE because it doesn't have many LTE signal bands -- the ones that it has are pretty specific to VZW.

You should try to get the Rogers or Fido versions of the XT925 (a lot are listed on eBay). You might also be able to find the European versions. These are all gsm. If I remember correctly, most Israeli cell companies are no longer offering CDMA.

[Q] Any Smartphone LT 1900mhz Band 2 ?

Hi guys.
I live outside USA, in our country there's only one company with LTE for mobiles.
They are the Sprints of our country, CDMA/3G 800mhz and LTE in the 1900mhz but Band 2 instead of 25
There are only two available smartphones, The Huawei M931 and The recently (as yesterday released) Samsung S3 LTE available.
I realize certain vendors as HTC are selling Unlocked LTE version of their smartphones but I couldn't find any information about the bands supported.
So does someones know any unlocked or unlockeable smartphone CDMA/3G 800mhz and LTE 1900mhz in the Band 2?
Thank you
BC25 phones could work on BC2 LTE networks.
