Hey guys this is an off-topic thread. Its not related to any development.
Today morning i dropped my fit for the fifth time. Yes,i have dropped it for the fifth time. Three times from bed and two times from my hand which literally made it fall tumbling very hard. But i was surprised to see that its still working so perfect like nothing happened. Our fit really has a good built quality.
Through this thread i just want to know that how many of you have dropped your fit, how many times and what were the after effects of the incident on your phone. I hope to get fun replies from you all! :good:

Dropped more than 10 times...works perfectly...just a few scratches ...:/
3 or 4 times on asphalt in the corners. And it is very ok no problem.
Press THANKS if I helped.

dropped it 20-30 times
once in a toilet too.....
i told my friend why fit is better than s3 by saying that if u drop an s3 the screen cracks but a fit's dosent
he dared me to drop it
did it and nothing happened to it (lots of xpereince)
put a sticker on my battery and then took it out so that the glue stays on it and now my battery never pops out when it falls
zero times... its almost 1.5 years..
i dont remember , if i actually dropped it.. but i do remember my frnd dropping my mobile once.. was on a kill to him.. but nthing happened to FIT.. thankfully..
Plenty...
Almost like 3 to 4 times a week...
Asphalt, marble, tiles, wood; I've seen it all
I have a silicon case, but my back panel has the side locks broken (battery used to force out at every drop)...
I have a heavy-duty scratch guard, but it only covers the display, and not the entire front end, so there are plenty of marks there...
One of the scratch is deep enough to have go through the scratch guard and touch the screen...
Plus, the power button works as if it has its own brain...
I have dropped it almost 15 times. it mostly happens when I connect my fit to pc via usb and the cable stretches when I move the keyboard towards me
ps the battery and the cover should both come out when the device falls down. It is specifically designed such that the centre of gravity instantly shifts outside the device due to the battery so that impact on the device is less
Sent from my GT-S5670 using xda premium
Almost 3-4 times a day.. Still, it doesn't have many scratches.. Only 1 looooonnnng scratch at d back, which i got cuz i couldn't remove d back cover and used a compass to do it xD

At least 15 times.
Most of those falls were from 3-4 ft onto hard floor.
Right now the plastic part near the 3.5mm socket is slightly broken.Thats all...
Everything is working fine

Thanks all of you to share your experiences. Dropping fit for 15 to 20 times,4 times in a week, almost everyday, etc. you all are really rough users. Anyway its good to hear that our fit goes on working fine every time. Hats of to its build quality:good:
Dropped more than 10 times, works fine.. not even a scratch..:victory:

All was going well with me and my sensation, once my phone got dropped on hard surface and now splash of green dots (dead pixels?) are appearing on the screen.
Help me to sort it out, I'm not liking to see my sensation in this condition.

As stupid as it may sound the freezer solution actually works ..just Google ..dead pixels freezer xda ...you'll get tons of successful results ..
Also I myself used this solution thrice on my device ..I got same dead pixels after it has fallen
If you got those dead pixels after a fall then I bet my RC status on this solution that it works
Now what you need to do is
1. Remove battery, sdcard and sim card from the phone
2. Tightly wrap a polythene bag or any other plastic bag such that not even a single drop of water can enter it ( I used rubber bands to keep the wrapped bag intact )
3. Keep the phone in freezer for 6-7 hours ( or for a night )
4. After that take out the phone ..leave the phone outside for 15-20 minutes to let it go to room temperature
5. Pop in necessary stuff and turn on the phone and see the magic
Note: after the above process even if a single dead pixel was left keep the phone back in freezer for another hour ..because if you start using the phone with that single dead pixels ..all the other dead pixels starts coming back during the time you use the phone

Worse? They were worst in my case.. Covered half of screen and I kept the phone in freezer for two nights.. To completely remove them.. And this means yes the process removed the dead pixels completely

Tried the freezer technique, left the Mobile in freezer for 8 hrs.
Dead pixels are certainly reduced but not completely vanished.
So I put it back in again. :good:
BTW @ganeshp, How many times you did this to get rid of ur problem with pixels ?

hi guys, weeks ago i dropped my phone and the screen was cracked (the phone was dropped on the screen side hitting the floor),
yes, the phone is still working and everything seems to be fine except the screen, there was dark lines here and there inside the screen.
there is this thing that worries me that the screen might no longer going to work anymore, i dont know, maybe sooner or later because the cracks seems to becoming worst day by day.
attached together is the figure of this phone screen condition.
is there anything i can do to fix the screen?

Hi everyone . I have been using nexus from about a month now.
Yesterday my phone went completely mad .
I had just come back from washroom and tried unlocking the screen .
My phone didn't even register my touch . the emergency call started itself. Buttons got pressed on it own on my pin screen . it took me ten tries to even enter my own phone . then the home screen wasn't responding. The touch went off calibrated . I tried switching off and on . tried touching power off . airplane mode started and was switching on and off . I finally got it to power off . then restarted it again . no use. Same thing. Tried again. Same . and again. Same .
Finally with great difficulty logged back in my phone and did a factory reset. That too buttons kept pressing itself . I dunno why this happened. I haven't dropped it or anything. I lost all my data . even after the reset it doesn't feel.like it felt first .
Did this happen to anyone else ?? Please help .
Did you get it wet in the washroom?

Sounds to me like your phone needs an exorcism.
Sounds to me like moisture got to it somehow. Condensation maybe? Only thing i can think of that would cause random and erratic touchscreen input.

A screen guard and case will not protect the device from water damage. I agree with earlier comments, to me it sounds like it's wet.

My hand was wet . but how can water enter due to it ? I'll go check it out. I have warranty. Lol for a moment I thought my phone was hacked and someone was controlling it .
Steam from a shower or bath is enough to ruin the phone.. It doesn't have to physically get water drops on it.

What this guy said.
Turn it off and come back in a couple days. You should have done this in the first place but hey, woulda, coulda, shoulda, you didn't know. Hope it works for you otherwise it's RMA time.
Try putting it into a bowl of rice for a few nights. This generally pulls all of the moisture out. It definitely sounds like you got some moisture in there somehow.
I've also read somewhere that putting your phone in a bowl of metho will pull out moisture. But do not quote me on that haha.

I had a samsung nexus s and whenever there's moisture on the screen (mostly sweat), it randomly presses anything. So I wipe it off and leave it for a few minutes, then it's back to normal. Didn't happen yet on my N5 though.

Sister-in-law dropped her Nexus 5 into a mug of tea. Almost completely submerged. Only the USB port was sticking out. Red light of death appeared. Phone was put in a bowl of rice and eventually put in the hot press. Still had the red light of death. Tried charging it. Red light of death was constantly on and no sign of life. Today, 3 or 4 days after the accident, I took the back off, unscrewed the battery connection and pulled it off then fitted it back on. Held the power button on for four seconds as per normal and the phone turned on and is working 100%. Hope this helps other Muppets who drop their phones in a mug of tea lol
It's called lucky!
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA Free mobile app
Hhahaha glad it survived, most of the people whose got their phones submerged cant get it to work again like you did, lucky guy!
Hey Charlie, how's it going?
That was really lucky. I would suggest giving the metal parts of the circuit a clean with alcohol though after any liquid contact. Also, not sure what a hot press is but any heat can cause the liquids to evaporate, which means steam travels and condensates on yet even more critical parts. Definitely lucky.
(Its dan by the way)
