can't help with dialer codes, but why not use shabby's 7.2 tool to root and install custom recovery, then flash a stock image to reset everything for you. You can always return to stock if that's your style

Hi all,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922978
I was following the directions in that thread and seem to have mucked something up. I went into ##3282#, edit, advanced. And per the instructions in that thread i was changing the HTTP PD Proxy Port and HTTP PD Proxy Address to 0 and 0.0.0.0
Only when i was changing the address, i think i accidentally inserted a return in there, so that the address really was:
0.0.0
0.0.0.0
Now when i try to go back in there, it either hangs at reading 76% of the settings, or it just crashes before it gets that far.
I changed the port and was in the process of changing the address when the app crashed when i clicked ok.
Is there any other way for me to reset/correct that info, other then doing a factory reset?
thanks
Have you tried the 3282 and then menu>restore?
3282- DATA,
data restore, do it here at the store quite a bit if having an issue with a phone not connecting to the network/ won't commit modifications. If you can't get it to do it you can also try calling technical support and having them do it from their end, at least that works on sprint.

I dont get anything after i go in (via edit) when i press menu. I guess maybe that was removed with the ROM i'm using? (EViO)
Hey everyone. I'm one of the unfortunate ones with 3G data issues (thunderbolt wont connect to data at all).
Tried everything I could (battery+sim pull, factory restore, etc.)
Just wanted to list down all the programming/testing menus for all to have access to. A word of advise though, if you don't know what the option is, don't touch it. Some of them make sense. So this is just a place to put them all on the same post and make it easier for all to find:
1. Dial ##PROGRAM (Password is: 000000)
2. Dial *#*#4636#*#* (No password)
3. Dial ##778 (Password is: 000000)
Keep in mind *228 does NOT work on this phone, since it's SIM activated. If anyone knows of any other hidden menus, let me know, I'll edit the original post.

Would someone be able to supply me with the APN settings for my Galaxy S 4g? This idiot just deleted his. I thought something was wrong with my phone because I had lost all ability to use packet data over anything but Wi-Fi. So while troubleshooting I deleted the default without backing it up. I did figure out why I lost data though. Did you know T-Mobile expects you to pay them EVERY month? The wife thought I paid it and I thought she had.
It's paid now, but I can't find anything here or on google that references that they are specifically for SGS4G. Does it matter? Can I use any?
BTW, if anyone knows any alternate config for APN that claims improved speeds I may as well use those. Never wanted to before because I'm satisfied with my speed, but since I'm adding them back....
Have you tried reseting APN to defaults?
Press the Menu Key
Tap on Settings
Tap on Wireless and network
Tap on Mobile networks
Tap on Access point names
Press the Menu Key and tap on Reset to Default
Don't know if that will work for ya... but other than that you have to call tmobile/yourmobilecarrier to get the settings.

I'm not at my computer right now. But go to the vibrant section and look for the think tank removing data throttle thread. Or Google T-Mobile apn settings and manually enter them on the phone.

Thanks to golmar n blackphnx for the reply, I had googled and found some before posting, but wasn't sure if I it was one size fits all. I tried what you suggested Golmar and it worked except I needed to take a couple more steps beyond your post. You got me in the right direction though. If any other boneheads ever does the same as me, follow the below:
1. Follow steps given by Golmar in post 2 to get to your APN settings but you won't have restore defaults when selecting menu (system won't let you if you do not have any APN. Only can choose to create a new one or cancel from the pop up)
2. What you will see if you have no APN stored is it goes directly to a dialogue asking if you want to create a new one or cancel. Say yes and you get a full form asking for all the detailed APN info (If you say no/cancel it exits back to the previous menu).
3. Enter Name (doesn't matter what) and then epc.tmobile.com in the APN field don't know if you need APN, but I put it in.
4. Now, when you select menu you will have option to Save or Discard. Select Save.
5. Saving brings you to the screen you normally would see to select default APN or another one if you had created. (If you just went through these steps you should see just 1 named whatever you entered in step 3.)
6. At this point you can select menu and choose to restore defaults. Your default APN will return and the dummy just created will be removed.
Good to know!
Hello everyone, for some reason today i decided to update my phone to the new pm5 (I think) when it booted up i noticed I had no data, when i went to check the apns it shows one for verizon but all the details are empty and greyed out. I can't edit them or Add a new apn set so I can't use any data when not home on wifi. Anyone run across this? any ideas on how to fix it??

If so then Imei is ok ,
Could you do it before , Verizon does not locks this settings out?
Check better in your device forum
I'm not sure if I was able to before or not, never seemed to run into this issue, the apn is there but a lot of the required fields are blank instead of filled in, I have tried the two roms in the Verizon sub forum and didn't have problems with them till I switched off of the last one to go back to stock
Edit and I checked to see if the imei was clean and it seems to be so, so it hasn't been blocked
Edit 2 so I don't have to double post, and I've tried switching back to one of the custom roms after this problem came up, and the apn issue showed up again so I'm not sure if it's the phone, sim card, or network

Hi

Hi All,
I've just received my new S8+ Coral Blue (Korean LGU Plus branded) SM-G955N that I had bought online from Kogan.com.au. I was alittle devastated to see that upon trying to log into it with my Google account, the dreaded "This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device" error has occured.
What I've tried:
I've tried factory resetting through stock recovery, but this didnt help.
I've went ahead and downloaded the stock firmware from Sammobile (sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s8/SM-G955N/LUC/download/G955NKSU1AQDG/129793/) and flashed it through Odin. I've made sure to flash everything - the AP, BL, CP, Home CSC but the issue is still present.
Is there anyway to get rid of this damned error without rooting or voiding warranty?
Please help!
Galaxy s8+ frp bypass
try adding a network then in the pop up type any work....try holding it down then press assist when it goes to google app type test dpc bypass install it n add a work account.....reset your phone once more and your good to go
Wiz_Kidd,
Im not sure If I understood exactly what you meant. I do apologise but could you please be alittle more clearer with your instructions?.
Just for the record, I cannot get beyond the Google Sign In screen so I dont know where or how to add the network you've explained in your post.

Ok....heres a different way....when you reach at the add account pop up....type any random word and hold it down until you get another pop up then tap on assist....when the google app pop up type test dpc and download it when you complete that contact me
Do you know which software the phone is currently on? You should be able to find the version it's currently on in the recovery menu.
There's only one descent solution:
Return the phone where you bought it and:
1. ask there the log-in account
2. ask for a new phone
You'll never pass FRP (and that's a good thing, in case the phone has been stolen)

Ok Ive just tried that but when I do select the randomly typed word, 'Assist' doesnt come up. Only "CUT COPY and SELECT ALL" comes up. There is no Assist button or menu.

Ugh, is this really the only thing to do?. I dont think they would know the login account as I bought it from an online retailer shop. The box wasn't opened and all the stickers on the box were still there (until I opened the box of course).
Theres videos of people passing FRP online. I do believe there would be a way around this. But if it comes to it I can always return it.

Yeah theres a left arrow, but it simply takes me back to the previous screen.
So what are you thinking?. The phone is fake or some Samsung engineer logged into it before factory resetting it or something?
Oh and please note that I am doing all this with no simcard in the phone. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Yep I have connected to my homes wifi whilst holding down the word.
It seems that trick does not work on the newest version of android. Nor does the Realterm trick work either.
Quite sad really.

Flash the combo fw and eng boot. Should fix your problem
Honestly its quicker and easier for you to return it to Kogan ASAP and get a working replacement *fingers crossed* in your hands quicker.
If anyone is claiming to have a quick fix on YouTube I would be apprehensive and venture to guess that they're just out to make a quick buck off of some unsuspecting suckers. It seems there was some method for the s7 on MM but after some light reading I am under the impression that this method doesn't work on Android 7.0 Nougat.
There may legitimately be a fix out there somewhere but I feel like I would have seen it by now when you include other threads where this FRP question has been brought up. Again I could be wrong but I still think it's just not worth the effort tbh.
