Ok, The De-Odex is up!
And the MD5 Matches!
Took three times and for some reason it got corrupted. I'm skipping the Odex unless someone really wants it... 95% of of people want De-Odex anyways.
MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE MD5!

Thank you!

Site seems to be runnign slow, maybe thats why the first 2 uploads were bad. Be patient, lol

MD5 was correct on first download. Was quick also.

Yeah, I think my site was acting stupid early this morning. I uploaded it three times and the third time took. I dont know why, its NEVER done that before.

Thanks for this. Just loaded it and first thing I noticed was a fc on internet browser. Downloaded chrome and it works fine. Just can't use stock browser

Yeah, I think this ROM may require a certain set of permissions or something. Not sure. May have to look at the updater script. Heading to ed soon so... Maybe someone else can figure it out. I only tested the My VZW and it failed but messaging and calls were good. Its a dump from my phone so who knows

Yep, thats what I did to get this... I odin'ed back to G1, then I accepeted the OTA and the same root method works and the same aboot unlock method worked.

Im currently using your deodex stock g1 rom saw this but also saw there were some bugs so was thinking of doing ota, maybe ill just wait for the kinks to be worked out on this one, but i do need my crap mods too. So ill be waiting a while lol.

Scott indicated there are bugs. Possible issue with stock browser. Kinda Crap mods not tested to work. AFAIK, the latest and greatest that's stable is the G7 radios, CleanROM 2.1 and CleanKernel 1.2, all three of which have been reported to work very well together (including for myself). Hope this helps.
--more--
Sorry, forgot to answer your question...lol...this is MUCH different than CleanROM. CleanROM has all or most of the bloatware / Verizon crap removed, as well as a lot of background apps and services disabled or removed as well. The OTA has nothing removed and is only rooted (meaning you can use Titanium Backup, ES File Explorer and other system-type apps as root).

Google Wallet build.prop edit

I made this for myself to make it easier to get google wallet working after I flash a rom, or when I'm just out and about. All this does is replace the build.prop with one that has the necessary changes to it.
From this:
ro.product.model=SCH-I535
ro.product.name=d2vzw
ro.product.device=d2vzw
To This:
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro
I have only tested this on my d2vzw on a CM10 based rom. Figured I would share in case anyone else wanted to save a couple seconds.
Thank's to imnuts for helping me figure out how to make a flashable zip!
EDIT: including the other zip I made to go back to normal when you don't need wallet.
Thanks
Edit : Google wallet keeps telling me to turn nfc on using aokp... Even after I do it. *Le sigh *

That's a new one for me, did you try to clear data in the wallet app? Should be working fine if NFC is turned on.

Google Wallet doesn't support the verizon SGS3, so you have to change build.prop to make the phone think its a GSM Galaxy Nexus in order to get Google Wallet to work.

Should be, I tested it on a build from 2 day's ago and it worked fine for me. Flashing AOKP right now to see if it works as well.
This does in fact work with 8/31 AOKP build, had to flash this before I installed Google Wallet from the market, it installed, and Wallet booted right up for me.
I have used build.prop to get Wallet working before, but I can never seem to keep it working after going back to d2vzw. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

You are doing nothing wrong, if you go back to d2vzw, it won't work anymore. That's why I made the zip, for when I'm out and wanna use wallet, I can just flash the zip, and wallet works for me. Then I made another zip to flash after I'm done with it, that will flash it back to d2vzw.

TAPPED in on my (now unlocked bootloader) Verizon S3
question
So for clarity sake... If you are rooted with a custom rom... You can flash this at any time? Do you have to flash this before installing the app? And is there any harm in leaving the new build.prop file ?
Need to know what issues I might run into. I do like the easy flash method.
Thanks

It should continue to work as long as you don't clear the wallet app before reflashing the build prop back to the stock.

Agreed, Fall. The more info the better. What did you do to cause the phone to soft brick? I hope that if you were messing around with the ICS leak, you handled everything as if it were dynamite. You say you have CWM, I assume you also had/have the Atrix Bootstrap apk as well. (?) Did you install anything else, such as BootMenu? Be as exact about what happened, what you did, what all you had installed, and the above mentioned by Fall of Enosis. The more you can provide, the better he (we) can troubleshoot...

Are you sure you are using correct file? I have not fxz'ed my A2 yet but file size 2xxx seems really small. Fastboot/sbf flash files are pretty big and even bigger for A2 because gingerbread has full webtop.

Ask jim or alteredlikeness before you do this!!!
Seriously ask first!
If I understand correctly jims script and or alreredlikness's mod to said script leaves the mbm intact. You might be able to use their stuff for ics fxz back even though your only still on gb and never been on ics. The script way is simple IF they tell you it would work. Ask them personally first though. Good luck.

someone please tell what this 44mb ota update that became available this morning entails.
any way for someone with twrp recovery to install this ota since twrp interupts the update? through kies? or, any way to install the factory recovery back after having installed the twrp recovery?
If it's only 44MB, it's sure as hell not JB, so I wouldn't worry about that.
You can always get the stock recovery back by using ODIN to restore back to stock if you really want to see what the update is.
If you search, I'm sure you'd find out what is. I know its been posted already. All I can remember for sure is the new baseband.

i just found one stock recovery tar and will flash it using odin ( it is from an old post, july of this year ) and at the download link for the stock recovery tar md5 file it said it was not tested - so not certain if it is safe to not brick. stock recovery tar md5 for skyrocket is hard to find. that is what sucks, once you load a custom recovery, hope it is possible to get back to stock recovery.
thank you.

I let it download, and then because I'm rooted it failed as expected, which is fine because I don't want the update anyway. I just rebooted and it seems to have stopped the nagging.
Anyone know how to turn off device management? Or to where the pkg was copied so that I can rename it?

I have Titanium Pro and froze DM. Thanks sent.
Wish I had known to do that before I let it download.
Any idea where the update was saved to, and what it is named? I'd like to get rid of it.
I can't remember where it saves to. Maybe you can find it with root explorer.

I have not seen what it updated. Been running factory since July.

No NFC

Why can I enable my NFC, but it stays greyed out? I posted two pictures. One showing my NFC settings page and my phone setup.

Also, why does it say I have a galaxy nexus in my settings. I have a s3. Ha.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Did you change the build.prop or use the wallet installer.apk to get Google wallet working? That tricks your phone into thinking it's a nexus so wallet will work.
I have the same nfc problem. Ruining AOKP. Don't know how to fix it. Let me know if you figure it out.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
It was wallet. Have you tried changing the build.prop? I didn't try doing that yet. But my NFC works on beta2 on liquidsmooth. Noticed in ROM manager when I was trying to upgrade recovery it said my version was a nexus also. Lol. New to android so I had to switch ROMs so it said I have a s3 in about phone then upgrade clockward recovery mod ..

Nandroid backup, flash a TW rom, enable NFC and leave it on, restore your Nandroid. See if this helps.

The thing is, if you read the very first thread in the link that ddurandSGS3 posted, the OP started the same post already and folks offered help there too. He could have just revived that thread. I posted help there too although I wasn't aware he responded again until just reading ddurandSGS3's post.

Oh no I totally understand. I'm just saying no one ever actually searches. They just start these threads about questions that have been answered 100 times and clutter up the threads. Just like in ROM sections. People all post the same things without reading.

Possible NFC fix
Here is a link to a zip that you have to flash. A friend gave it to me to fix my nfc issue and it worked beautifully, he also used is and it fixed his nfc issue.
http://www.4shared.com/zip/WMZoQj_P/LS_nfc_fix.html
I take no responsibility for any negative repercussions that may occur due to you flashing this zip.
Hope this helps
Happy flashing from the cat.
Who created this file and what's it do to fix NFC? I switched to liquidsmooth beta2 and it works now.

You just answered your whole problem. Could have saved us a lot of time. If gonna jump around on ASOP based roms **** gonna be broke.
I'm rather paranoid about the secure element and potentially frying it when switching ROMs. I always reset Google Wallet and clear data before I flash in a new /system or do a factory reset.
Possible NFC fix
The zip was downloaded from a thread in the verizon general QA section. Not sure if I could find the thread because it was a friend who directed me to the zip. Also I'm not certain what is does to fix NFC I just know that after flashing it wallet was working for me.

change to stock and i think it will work
This problem was resolved. It was liquidsmooth rc9 that was making my NFC not work. Switched to a different ROM and it worked. About to switch to rc9 and try the file in the post that a member posted in this thread though. Ls beta2 sucks!

[Q] Stock JB 4.1.2 from sgh-t989 to sgh-t769

Hi everybody...
I'm kinda new to Android...
I want to ask, is it possible to install the stock JB 4.1.2 firmware which belongs to Samsung galaxy SII (sgh-t989) on Samsung Galaxy Blaze 4G (sgh-t769)??
I would say no.

It would solve a lot of problems with development if it did work though.

Just curious, is it possible to port stock jb from sgh-t989 to the Blaze? Could we actually get a taste of real Touchwiz JellyBean?

I think that someone with a lot of porting experience can get this to (partially) work, I have no experience with porting what soever, but I do know Python and learning VB. Would be cool if I could use those in android
I hope someone may consider it. I am learning all this stuff with a lot of effort. I have until now been developing apps only... But ROM dev and porting, and kernel tweaking is really interesting. But you can use python in android...at least in app dev.

Wow, Somcom, you have already done it? Why haven't you posted that awesome ROM on our dev thread? But if you opt to keep it private, i would like to have a taste. Or at least teach me how you ported that ROM. I really wanna be a ROM dev and porter. Thanks for the hope.

Finished it about 3 hours ago.
WiFi is broken, keeping me from relasing.
Wasn't really a port, was more of recompiling the kernel and adding blaze support kind of thing. Only took me 9 hours...
This approach lets people flash any Hercules and skyrocket tw rom.

Do you have like tutorials for porting tw roms from similar devices(Hercules etc)? I would like to learn that. If not please give me some guidelines. I would really be thankful. Anyways you know a lot of stuff, have you ever considered passing that expertise to others? Oh well, i know there are a lot of tutorials on everything all over the forum and stuff, but maybe your way is different. You have done a lot of dev work, that's what i mean.

Ha ha.
No tutorials it's all prior knowledge.
Well here's how this project came to be :
1) read this thread
2) downloaded the source code
3) diffed the defconfigs of herc, the cm t769 and the ics apex one.
4) compiled a kernel
5) repacked boot.img
6) didn't boot
7) replaced my uber kernel with the compiled kernel
8) booted, no network, wifi, gapps.
9)Repeat 4,6,8, and 9 five times. 10) debug ril. Fixed
11) post screen shot
12) go to sleep

Thanks Somcom, I'll try that. But my ROM will probably get stuck on the bootscreen, or systemUI or android.core process will keep crashing , coz that's what happens to all my Roms. But thanks alot. I hope to see the 4.1.2 tw ROM soon. GREAT DEV WORK, REALLY GREAT...
Forgot to mention flash isn't working too

They are linked to the libhardware_legacy.so lib, which can't be easily modified.
