My sensation broke this morning. I call the insurance people for my claim and they say I can get a HTC one s. The question is, is it worth getting this phone?
Can someone tell me the ups n downs, etc? Thanks.

I had the sensation and upgraded to the one s but still like to flash roms with the sensation for fun and the sensation seems so laggy compared to the one s. The performance and battery life of the one s is amazing. I defiantly recommend getting the one s just be sure you get the s4 chip.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
try AOKP Jelly Bean (the link is in my sig) i love this rom and it's as close to aosp jelly bean as i've seen so far (not including cm10 because it is not fully functional)
Are you from Europe or America? In Europe you'll probably get the S3 Version even if it's from T-Mobile.
I'm okey with this phone, I can't complain about anything except the missing update support for the S3 device (I have one and can't do anything about it) and the missing custom ROM support.
I got the phone yesterday evening and it came with the s4 chip (im in the u.s.).
Rooted it an hour later.
Im loving it compares to the sensation.
Only problem I have right now is the backlights on the buttons won't turn on sometimes I reseted ny phone before rooting it and that did the trick. But now its back at it

so im finally making the switch to a duel core phone, and decided to go with the HTC amaze 4g. i like samsung but there phones seem so flimsy to me, touchwiz is awful and m experience with the galaxy s was a weird one. anyways...i was just wondering if any of our favorite devs are moving/planning on moving or deving on the amaze. I have loved the development on this phone and have grown fond of the work of certain devs, (faux123, team royal, and TDJ). after seeing that tdj moved to the SGS2, it almost made me want to throw my amaze on craigslist, although i saw Faux wich made me happy ha. anyways i hope i see development on that phone as good as the mt4g was/has been.

Not true. For the amaze you don't need s-off. All you need is an unlocked bootloader. I bought my girl the amaze because her mt4g broke. Unfortunately it came s-on (some people will be lucky enough and have s-off already when when receiving their amaze) so the same week I bought her the phone, I unlocked the bootloader. Its almost the same as s-off. I was able to grant her permroot and she can even flash custom roms and kernels. I already debloated her amaze and added a custom battery, tether and have setcpu running on it to get better battery life.
At this moment I'm researching on which custom rom is best for her so I can flash.
So if you lurk the amaze forum you'll see they have a few selection on custom roms, kernels and mods.

where'd you buy yours and how much? Just wondering cause I don't think phones are worth half a grand.
Just got the amaze today.basically a larger mytouch4g.Although it has a higher screen resolution, there isn't that great a difference from the mytouch.the camera is better no doubt.actually, its quite good for a camera.build is solid, yet remains light to the touch.
Sense 3.0 is so much smoother than any sense rom.
its abeautiful phone.
Recently got and unlocked a Sammy infuse.it has a nice Tom selection, which are high quality roms (Zeus) thanks dman,my daughter loves it.
I thought I'd prefer the amaze, but provably should have tried the sgs2.
Amaze is very good though!
Edit:yeah, that extra tenth of an inch on the Samsung phones makes a difference.atleast with the Zeus rom ,the infuse is kickass and so much smoother than any mytouch rom. Yet I made my choice.
Not dissatisfied, but miss that butter from the Sammy.

Huawei is actually pretty good, aside from their low end piece of **** phones they originally released (Their original Ascend didn't even have a freaking GPU -_-).
I currently have the sensation. I'm up for an upgrade. I have a choice between the one s and the Samsung galaxy s3 . I hate touch wiz and I feel the dev presence is awesome on HTC. But the Samsung is completely awesome. So if I could get feed back it would help. It seems a bit off sided because I can only get one s and not x

Development on the GS3 will be greater, and faster, since Samsung doesn't lock bootloaders, or lock the phones with S-on.
Now ask yourself; did I really just read that? Yes you did.

I would go with the S3. It has a bigger display and its hd compared to qHD. Plus it has a micro sd which is incredibly useful since the one S barely has a lil under 10GB of storage.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
If it weren't for the size of the GS3, I would say absolutely go with it, since really the only thing the One S has over the Galaxy is its a reasonable size...and sexy slim. Other than that, the GS 3 either matches or trumps the H1S in every other category.

I got this phone free w/ 2 year contract. Its a great upgrade for me. But if I were choosing a phone that money didn't play a part in it, I would get something else.
Get a phone w/ a removable battery and micro SD card.
Sure I'm happy now, but cell phone batteries only last 400 - 500 charges. No way around that. Good class 10 SD cards keep getting cheaper.
I will be sorry after a year or so with this phone. But I'm happy now.

I've stopped trolling and I don't think the gs4g phone is worth it anymore. I'm happy that devs are still working on it but I think I need to move on instead of begging for a new update. I've almost forgotten there are other options out there.
I don't know if it's still like this but my first android phone was a mytouch 3g slide. HTC made it and that phone was the biggest pain in the butt to get rooted due to the locked boot loader. I got the s2 and have been very happy with it.

The HTC one s has been majorly upgraded it runs ics and sense 4 ( sense 4 is infinitely better than touchwiz if for no other reason the fact that touchwiz5 can be flashed as a zip onto the one s) with no worries to the one s out of the box so you get best of both worlds) has an awesome 4.3 in 900 by 560 screen res but easily a one handed device due to the thin design. Has an amazing camera a great dual core 1.5 MHz thingy ma bob (not the most tech specific term) and i could definately see the smoothness was comparable to the one x's and the gs3 but it has no expandable memory or access to battery. Oh and a HUUUUGGGE plus is that the one s has an alpha cm10 build already. So pretty much the s one is better than the s2 in every thing except for storage, price, and nfc. Seems like a no brainer right! Its just that with a 2 yr contract the one s is $150 vs the gs2's wapping 0 dollars. I could wait for the price to drop but it was at 50$ back in April when I couldn't upgrade so I doubt the price will drop that much. I feel like this post may have answered by own question lol.

SGS III by far.

Honestly I didn't know what the big deal was when I was on this forum before I got this phone with jelly bean. And now having used it for a couple weeks I really still don't see the big deal with it. It's nice don't get me wrong but it's not leaps and bounds better than ics like gb was to ics.
All in all I'm happy with the phone. Dual core is awesome, the gig of ram also helps allot. love the bigger screen. And with the 16g internal and the 16g sd card I had from my sgs4g I don't think I will be worrying about storage problems for awhile lol

I think It's because of HTC. With all the different variant versions of one S all the different h boots. I dunno man I truly belive my next cell phone will be Samsung. I've always wanted to try it out but didn't like the phone design. The galaxy 3 and note 2 are the first Samsung phones that actually caught my eye. I guess we will see what's in the future line up. I had the HTC amaze and sensation. HTC failed the Amaze as well. Oh well.

They look pretty similar, here's the spec sheets for both though if you haven't seen them yet. Looks like your Inspire has more RAM but Nexus has a way bigger hard drive. I've had my NS for a few weeks now and I'm happy with it despite it being two years old. There are some great roms for it too, HTC was a let down for me on the development side. Plus it's just a sexy looking phone I would make the trade if the condition is similar on the two but that's just me, I'll take pure android over Sense any day.

The 4.2 roms I've tried are great, very little lag if any with the right kernel. I think the drop in ram will be your biggest issue though, may not be quite as smooth as yours.

The develpoment section is better for the Nexus, the sexyness is undoutible asswell, just turn the screen of on it and look! (Nexus looks more modern do you see how new devices tend to have round corners?)...if you are not certan on the other owner's phone do not traid but if the device is ok, do it in a heartbeat!
