I set my poor phone on a slightly tilted box this morning and it fell about four feet onto a concrete floor and the screen shattered. It's usable but only for a bit before I get really angry with it. I'm thinking about a) switching to the SG3, or b) getting a replacement screen and attempting the fix, or c) both.
But the question is - where do I find a replacement screen that's compatible? Is this screen compatible?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/FULL-LCD-DI...355?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d04c74e43
Or is that screen just for the international One X?
I think you need the AT&T version. I think all the others are slightly different sizes. If anything it would be the international One XL, but I don't think it will fit.
There is a plethora of threads about replacing cracked screens, one of them must have a link to one that fits.

Everyone I search I find only One X replacement screens, anywhere from $10 to $50. I can't seem to find a One XL screen anywhere, and I haven't found a thread with a link yet. I'll keep looking!

Except it doesn't - I'm not a fan of people who just fire back with "use search" because there's a similar thread. That thread doesn't talk about whether the One X screen will work on a One XL, or whether the eBay link I posted would work.
Can't answer your question about compatibility. But what I can say, is that I would not buy from a eBay vendor that hides all the cost in shipping. $50 for shipping is unreasonable, even from China. Its misleading and dishonest.

I will sell you my screen for shipping. I tried to separate the glass from the LCD. Impossible! Tons of adhesive. So I just ordered the LCD and screen combo from repair universe. Now it works fine other than the lights on the bottom three buttons where very hard to transfer the diode pieces.
(Edit) I ordered a brand new screen before take apart and now it just sits. You can have it!

If you have the att branded HTC one x this is what you want.

It is the whole assembly , you will never separate the LCD from the glass with out breaking one or the other.

You can ask in that.. Because its related to screen cracking issues.. I am neither a fan of posting "search results" or service to find existing threads and posting them. I am just helping this community in some way and that is by preventing multiply posts of same topic

I replaced my screen with the international one x and it worked the only problem was that digitizer came defective and wouldn't get touch input on the right side of the digitizer so I ended up buying a att version digitizer 18$ BTW my screen doesn't have glue between screen and digitizer so I can replace one or the other without breaking them. The original one was glued. The replacement I got was not.

after screen replacement have any of you had issues with screen separation?
my screen is cracked in the bottom right corner, and i was considering replacing it before it got worse. but if replacing it is going to cause seperation and light leak then i'll just live with it for now.
what about having HTC repair it?
anybody know what they charge?
Well , fine but no one asked this question : Can you use One X screen + digitizer on One X XL ?
No.

I just get my HTC One X. Wonderful phone, but I have very uncomfortable issue with display. On majority of screens in menu or applications, especially on dark backgrounds, it shows dozens or even hundreds of white or red pixels staying or moving as you swipe. Please help, what I should do? Got some screenshots.

Take it back asap
Take it back, you should have no trouble exchanging it for a new one. Mine had one single dead pixel and they swapped mine for a new one. My new one even has the whiter display as opposed to the other one which had the yellowish tint.

looks like bad ram the gpu is using. Exchange it.
Thank you so much for your reply. But what if I bought it through RadioshackWireless, can I go to At&t store with that phone to exchange it there? Thank you.
I agree...I would exchange it...either a ram issue or the display is bad..HTC uses a few different companies to make their screens so it could just be bad...if bought at best buy at att, you should have no issue exchanging it..if amazon, you can still return but have to wait on shipping...
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
you will have to go to Radio Shack and have them exchange it, AT&T will tell you to take it back to them. If you got the the phone from Radio Shack Online then check your packing slip and make sure it doesn't have any specific instructions saying that you can only return it to them by mail. Hope this helps

Hey XDA, I recently bought a One X about 5 days ago.
Since then I've replaced the phone 3 times, first and second replacements were for dead pixels, third was for a faulty Wi-Fi signal, now my fourth one which I'm currently using has light leaking through the sides and one of the capacitative buttons is not bright at all.
I'm getting really tired at this point and I really want to just find a good One X without problems. Any chance the grey ones have less issues? I doubt it but it's worth a shot at asking.

Still On My First
hmmm, I have read a lot about people getting damaged and faulty One Xs. I find that very interesting and wonder if it just bad luck, but with how many people have these problems, I wonder if HTC made a few bad batches and just didn't tell anyone about them. I am on my first One X, hopefully the only) and have been loving it ever since the day I got it. I haven't noticed any problems. Another interesting thing I have noticed is that people seem to say that their grey ones are just fine. I've got myself a grey one too and have had no issue either. Maybe it is only the white ones that had this problem. Hope you get a good one soon, or I even hope you decide to stay with the One X. Maybe you can try getting it from somewhere else that may noot have gotten a bad batch.
I would keep getting replacements until I got one that was perfect, or at least close enough. Something like a yellow tint in the display isn't a big deal, but dead pixels or broken wifi is.

Thing about the wifi is, the wifi is a defect on almost all units. It was a mistake that HTC themselves actually acknowledged. It has something to do with the connectors being too far apart. My One X seems to disconnect frequently but it will only be for a few seconds, so I don't worry too much about it. Apparently the newest made devices have fixed this issue but I expect that it will be a little while before all of the old ones are sold. I hope this helps :highfive:
Hey guys so my dumbass did not have a case on my one x and cracked my screen is there any place I can take to get it fixed or anything I can do without paying up the ass. Any suggestions or options would be appreciated!

I don't have any advice first hand but as far as suggestions are concerned, you might want to try one of the 14,726 other "I cracked my HOX's screen" threads in the first few pages of the forum. Odds are you might be able to find some decent info in one of them, but that would require a little effort and actually searching so I dunno if that is a feasible option or not.

Personally, I would only go down the official HTC route. From what others say, it's about $200. Of course there are your horror stories with HTC service, but I would tend to think that all the people that had a jolly experienece aren't rushing to XDA to post.
Good luck.
P.s., I am posting this assuming you don't have insurance.

I would do the same, if I cracked my screen. Unlike most other phones, replacing the screen on the One X is not a simple fix, due to how the casing is constructed. Going to a 3rd party repair shop has a high probability of inferior results like this, and not all that much cheaper (if at all) than going to HTC.
One of my customers cracked his screen two days after getting it. He has insurance, but I suggested contacting HTC to see what they would do. He eventually got a supervisor on the phone who capitulated and offered to fix it for nothing more than the cost of shipping. It's worth a shot.

I cracked the glass on my camera lens. What can be done about fixing it??
I know insurance covers it, but only if I pay the $200 deductible. HTC can fix it for next to nothing in cost, but that requires I mail the phone to california, wait for it to be fixed and for them to mail it back.
I have found the entire back portion of the phone available on eBay for $40 however after closer look, these are all for the HTC One X, not the HTC One XL.
I was talking to a friend of mine and he says the glass is just a very thin piece of protection and you really dont need it so I should just remove it. As it is now, the camera takes extremely blury photos. Any ideas on how best to fix this? If the glass is not important, I might just remove it entirely but it'd be nice if I could fix it somewhat cheaply.

I'm pretty sure it happened while I was working. I keep my phone clipped into my seidio active holster. The case keeps the phone protected quite well. I've dropped the phone from the height of 4-8' several times, without any adverse effects.
I know the night I was working on a large data/phone cabling job, I am sure I did not drop it. But when I went to take my photos, they all came out blury and I found its cracked. Has two cracks, forming sort of an X. I would bet you that it happened while I was working on the hard tile floor and rolled over on top of something hard like one of my tools or something. Possibly. Still unsure.

I did call AT&T warranty, I was told that they do not cover small issues like cracked glass on the camera lens. They will only replace the phone if it was not working... like a bad micro usb port or something. If I was more sleezy than I already am, I would break it so that I can get it replaced. But I'm not doing that.
