the phone´s original carrier is at&t so I bought the unlock code online, I turn the phone on and enter the 8 pin code and a messege apears saying that the phone whas seccesfully unlock from network and that the phone need´s to restart, but when the phone restarts it freezes in the htc white screen, I have to do a battery pull to restart the phone and when it boots its locked again
if I ignore the message and dont reboot the phone it does unlocked an I can reseive calls but the screen to enter the 8 pin number wont go away so a can't acces the phone, just to answer the incoming calls
if i turn the phone on with no sim card it wont letme acces the phone because it will ask me to enter the unlock patron
here is what i've done so far to try to fix it
factory reset for the hboot
it will freeze in the htc white screen, i have to do a baterry pull to reboot the phone and it boots up in the same conditions
installng the sock roms from att by ruu.exe way and sd car PD98IMG.zip file way
both ways it says seccesfully update roms but wen the phone boots in freezes in the htc white screen, I do the baterry pull and wen the phone boots its the same way it was
wipe data/factory reset from the android system recovery <3>
and the phone desplays this message
E:can't open /cache/recovery/command
--wiping data...
formatting /data...
E:can't open /data/cwpkg.zip
E:can't open /data/cw.prop
E:can't open /cache/cwpkg

data wipe complite.
I reeboot the phone and it's the same
root with ahhk
I can't acces the phone to put it in usb debugging mode so I have to run the ruu.exe and then exit when it asks me to agree to the update, then a message aperas on the phone that it's on usb debugging mode, the I run the ahhk, but whe it gets to the part of INFOsignature it gives me an error

the phone reboots and it freezes on the htc white scree
i reed in the effen manual that this error was because the sd card was bad an it could no be used as a gold card, so I went and bought a new one and it keeps giving me the same error
manually downgrade and root (scotty85's guide)
I have to cheeat my phne into usb debbuging mode from the ruu.exe
I can get to step 5 with no errors but wen a paste the "fastboot getvar mainver" it doesnt show 1.31.405.3 it shows 2.47.502.7

Not being mean but you should have stopped when the phone unlock code didn't work and then asked for help. Whoever is selling those codes needs to be stopped because they don't work and just screws things up. Factory reset from hboot disables USB debugging. Also what ruu did you run? And what version of hboot do you have now? If you used the ruu for the new 3.20.502.52 it will make things even more difficult. The hack kit failed because your ROM version isn't correct so I am assuming its the newer version just released mentioned above, which doesn't work with the hack kit. Please repost what your hboot screen says now. If your hboot is still .0024 then we may be able to run the old 2.47.502.7 ruu which I have a copy of. It would need to be run from fast boot within hboot though.

Alright. Format your sd card and leave empty, then put back in phone. Put phone into hboot, select fast boot. Plug phone into PC and then run ruu from PC. If it doesn't get rid of your issue then its possible your emmc chip is going bad.

My guess is one of two things. Bad emmc which can be repaired but requires a new main board. Or a corrupted boot IMG which without s off can't be flashed. Maybe the person who sold it knew the emmc was bad.

[Q] Won't go past HTC boot logo...

Hi everyone
My sister has a HTC Sensation Orange UK branded, running completely stock 1.50.61.1 software, without no modifications to the phone in any way, it is just as if it came out of the box. The other day the phone mysteriously stopped going past the boot logo... It turns on, white screen with green HTC logo, then within 10 seconds it turns off and back on again to the same logo, and continues until the battery dies. It does not get on the OS boot logo. The phone does however go into the bootloader and fastboot.
First step I took was download a 1.35.61.1 Orange UK branded RUU and tried to run that, knowing that it would probably fail as I was trying to go back to an older version, but I did not wanna do anything else first. The RUU for 1.50.61.1 is not available, and I have not been able to find it anywhere... When I run the RUU, I seem to get upto the point where it says "Sending Data..." and then it fails with an "UNKNOWN ERROR".
Next step , I unlocked the bootloader since the RUU is not available and if it is an issue with the OS/ROM, then I need to flash another. I unlocked the phone via HTCDev, and that worked fine. Phone is showing unlocked in the bootloader. Then, when I tried to flash a recovery, it looks as if works fine, but when I go to the recovery option in the bootloader, same issue... Won't load the recovery, and just keeps boot-looping. I tried CWM recovery via Hasoon's toolkit and manually through the fastboot command. It says sending, done OK, but continues to boot-loop.

If its in Warranty period, Try replacing it.
Sounds like a H/W fault to me..
That was my suspicion too... I am not sure if it is under warranty, I guess I can find out.
Is there nothing I can try from here?

[Q] S-Off not working

I've been rooted on my AT&T One X for some time (it's the most reliable way to get tethering). I've been doing this to my Android phones for some time, and while I've dabbled with ROMs on my old Galaxy I've been comfortable with rooting on all of them to get some perks like tethering.
So now I have a phone with Android 4.0.4, BL-Unlock, SuperCID, and root. It works great, I love it except that now I'm getting constant reminders that an OTA is available; it's annoying and I can't stand it. My plan at this point was to gain S-Off and open up all my options (either going back to straight stock or flashing a ROM).
Unfortunately, the facepalm S-Off isn't working for me. All the steps complete as they are supposed to as far as I can tell but every time I get back to the bootloader, "S-ON" is staring back at me. I've made sure to grant SU permissions for the last command but I've gone through it several times now and nothing. I have no idea what isn't working; anyone have any ideas?

Reboot your phone and try again. If you could pastebin your cmd and link here so I could see what's happening I should be able to help but typically, if you're doing everything properly, it doesn't always work the first time. Sometimes you need to reboot the phone and try again

What rom are you on? Stock rooted works best.
I am stock rooted as far as I'm aware; that's why I'm getting the OTA notifications (I think). The only things that should be changed should be CID and root plus the addition of TWRP Recovery.

Then reboot and keep trying. Until you get error 92. I've seen it take some people quite a few tries. You can also try changing you're cid to 22222222, sometimes the change in cid gets it working.
Fastboot oem writecid 22222222
Pressing and holding the power button until the screen shuts off simulates a battery pull. If you're not rebooting that way, reboot that way.

:good: Thanks a lot, after a dozen tries, the hard reset of the phone did the trick. It worked the first time after that.
Edit to say that I did not have to change the CID.
Well i figured i would put this here for anybody having device offline problems while trying to get s-off. If you get "device offline" in the middle of the process like i did you may have to unplug your phone and plug it back in. This seems to be an issue with aosp 4.2.2 roms

I was having the same issue until i tried the hard reset but now when i enter the last three commands they all say "ADB server didn't ACK" and when I reboot it still says s-on. am i doing something wrong?

[Q] HTC Sensation 4G keeps restarting

Out of the blue, my htc sensation 4g started restarting again & again.
I've tried to flash stock rom again using correct RUU but nothing is working. Yesterday formatted my SD card through other phone & after phone started working nice but when I switched off phone to insert SIM card, it started giving same problem.
Please advise what kind of solutions I have to restore my phone back on stock rom? I don't want to loose my investment.

Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Thanks for the quick reply folks but don't think its battery issue as I'm able to start phone in bootloader everytime.
In bootloader, getting message "No image or wrong image"
Could it be a problem with your SIM maybe ? If your phone can stay powered in bootloader , the radio won't be powered up in bootloader, try a different SIM and see if that helps ? And the no image stuff is just where the bootloader is scanning for update and diagnostic images , nothing to worry about .

What does the computer detect? fastboot not working either? are you S-Off? try connecting it to charger with battery outside and see what happens.
No bootloader on VolDown+Power press, no indicator LED light when connected on charge with or without battery.
Phone was S-Off before this hepened. PC detects phone on USB connection and Device Manager says "qhsusb_dload" for device.
ADB/fastboot does not detect phone on connection.

What matters is your CID. unless you have SuperCID you need the exact RUU for your device. go to bootloader and via fastboot type fastboot getvar cid. This will give you your CID.
Here is a list of Sensation RUUs:
http://www.androidruu.com/index.php?developer=Pyramid
I suggest using an ICS RUU, as it will allow you to avoid messing with firmware (will flash it by itself).
Good luck.
Started to work with restats maybe you can get in your fast boot by now?

if you are still on S-OFF you can use any ruu.exe which means a GB one too
but you must have supercid
by the way can you boot now to the bootloader?
Yes, it is S-Off still but now after recovery, unrooted.
I can go into bootloader via VolDWN+PWR.

it is better to use the GB ruu.exe just to be sure
My CID was HTC__036 so is that got something to do with bugs i had or is it just preventing you
to flash RUU packs? I do not really understand how it works tottaly. Is it better if i cange it to 1111111 and can it be restored back to stock after?
I got problems with WiFi, BT and FM, thay not working so one of the options are to fully restore the phone by removeing custom recovery, S-OFF, and everything and get it back on factory GB OS so it can be sent on repair.

if you change your cid to supercid(11111111) then you can use any ruu.exe you want
with cid:HTC__036 you can use a specific ruu.exe
and no cid has not to do with bugs
after supercid you can revert it back to the original one if you want
after ruu installation it will remove custom recovery but the S-OFF will remain
Ok, i seen someware how to restore S so only thing now is to find that GB RUU. Can someone point me to the file on that RUU list and
what about radio and suff. Does it need to be same radio version as mine now or?

[Q] HTC One X: Stock, stuck in bootloop, need to recover pics please!

Hello, newb here with a problem...
My girlfriend's phone (HTC One X) randomly reboots today and gets stuck in a bootloop, HTC screen and then black, over and over... seems like it won't load the OS. I do a little research and manage to time it just right to get it into HBOOT and just shut it down so I can try and figure out the problem later.
I have no experience rooting phones, minimal experience with Linux and Java coding. Her phone is new, bought unlocked with GSM carrier bands. She lives in Romania and will be taking the phone home with her in a week, so no SIM card yet, just airplane mode and wifi. This does mean I'm on a timetable to get it fixed though, it needs to work before she leaves as I'm not sure of the support she may get back home.

POWER DOWN
Now, from what I've read, I may be able to fix the problem with a reset, but here is the hiccup... I need to save the pics and video that are on the phone. Is there any way to do this with a phone that is only stable powered on in HBOOT? Normal boot ALWAYS responds with a loop, HBOOT can sit for hours with no issue. I have my GF's laptop with Win 8 Pro and could do cmds if there is a way to get the phone recognizable by the computer.
I have searched for hours this afternoon/evening to try and find a similar problem, but it always seemed to be with rooting the phone. If anyone has ANY ideas how to save the pics and get this phone stable, I would be incredibly grateful. Thanks in advance!

BTW picture and video are save on your SD card ....and make sure u don't wipe SD card during factory wipe from recovery......
The boot screen shows the following:
***LOCKED***
EVITA PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-11111111
HBOOT- 1.14.0002
RADIO- 0.19as.32.09.11_2
OpenDSP- v29.1.0.45.0622

I have deleted those two from my post, but unfortunately you quoted them in your post and I can't delete that... do me a favor? Thanks.
I should have mentioned in the first post that I don't want to root her phone if I don't have to, first priority is to get it running. Second priority is to save the pictures that are on the phone. Everything I have read tells me that the SD contents will be deleted during a factory reset or when rooting, so I am saving those for a last resort.
Is there a way to upgrade the firmware without doing any resets?
btw- I am not the one who turned S-off, it came from the factory like that... fairly confusing to me. Thanks again!

Thanks button hit, and I would gladly hit it a dozen times if I can get this phone to work long enough to recover pictures and then try a factory reset. On another forum someone had suggested putting the phone in a fridge for 5 minutes or so and that would somehow let it boot long enough to get the pics via USB. Idk about putting her phone in a fridge though... :silly:
I also forgot to mention I had tried recovery as well, I don't recall seeing TWRP, just 3 or 4 yellow lines of "cache error", then eventually a blue menu. From there I had tried "reboot", same problem. Got back to that screen and tried "clear cache", still the same thing.
Just got to recover again, looks like this:
Android system recovery <3e>
Use volume key to highlight;
click power key to select.
Reboot system now
Apply update from external storage
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Apply update from cache
Apply update from internal storage

I have already tried the Reboot option and Clear cache option... should I next be trying to apply an update via external storage? If so, which update? I obviously can't update from internal since I can't send/receive files to the phone in its current state and I never put an update in the phone storage. Thanks again!
Unlock bootloader via HTC dev, install twrp 2.6 recovery then mount usb in recovery and you will have access to sd card

Appreciate the help, I am still new to rooting and the like...
Won't unlocking the bootloader wipe the SD? Or will it just wipe the apps and data? I don't much care if I have to reinstall apps, but losing the SD contents I would like to avoid.
I'm also trying to avoid voiding the warranty as the phone is only a month old, is there any way to get the computer to "see" the sd contents through the bootloader without unlocking it? Perhaps a software that the computer could force the phone to show the sd?
Thanks again all!
I thought it wiped the sd until I did it some stuff was gone but my music and pics remained but that's just my experience, maybe someone else can chime in.

Ah, ok. I'll use that as a last resort then, not voiding the warranty has become a higher priority than recovering the pics. Unless someone suggests another option, I think a factory reset will happen tonight.
Thanks for the help guys, and any other suggestions are gratefully accepted!

The unlock process only wiped my text messages but my images and music were untouched.

Anyone have any experience with CPR? I don't know if it's worth it to wait until Monday to get them to try and fix it, if they could even do anything.
If it was my phone, I would root and reboot, but I don't want to risk messing up my gfs phone more than it is. Still open to suggestions, thanks a lot for the help everyone.

Morning all
I'm in a similar situation...can anyone help?
Stock HTC with no mods, water damaged, had screen/cable replaced, after two days back with me screen went multi coloured, exclamation mark appeared on battery icon, phone stayed on at 1% battery with mains charger plugged in...now in bootloop and until until its run flat can I plug it into Mac to charge... Won't charge from mains
If there's a step by step guide to getting it stable enough to extract data (android file transfer doesn't work) that would be v helpful
Currently this is like death by a thousand cuts
Was there a conclusion? My wife has similar situation, but her contacts and notes are more important than pics. The phone froze on the updating of the software (trying to use HTC Syn).... Please let me know if there is a private solution as well. Pay to fix. my email: [email protected]
Peace,
Steven Chao
