How much did you pay for your phone? And was it on or off contract?
$178.99 off contract thru premier store. No commitment. No contract extension. However there was a flaw in their system that they have since fixed.

Wow. Lucky!
Off what?
Isnt there 3 of these threads now?
99.
-50 recycle rebate at RS
$49 dollars
I paid $79 with contract
BUT I am grandfathered on a very old unlimited data plan plus 200 SMS for $35.
Also I'm happy with AT&T so why not?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
128.99 with contract extension from wal-mart. It was only 99.99 at ATT, but they didn't have any in stock and I wanted one right then
$80 on contract at Costco.
Swyped from my Desire HD using XDA App
My buddy just picked one up for free with a contract extension. The guy at att said he was a good customer.
$99 on contract (best buy)
Via the XDA app for the HTC Inspire
130 out of pocket in total 380 (sold my captivate on craiglist for 250)
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
$90 after taxes but before the $18 upgrade fee from Costco. Includes an accessories bag, which has a belt case, crappy headphones and a working car charger which I was very happy about. This is on contract by the way.
69.99 Amazon with contract.
I want eligible for upgrade, att gave me $249 but added few of accessories and bluetooth. Phone came to $179. I check best buy, best they could was sell me retail.
Note that another att store i went to say $299 for my situation. 2nd att store is $249 befire the extra acc i bought the same time. Didnt hesitate. Although my next upgrade date is 2 years from now. And i still kept the unlimited data plan.
Not bad of a deal afterall, considering that i shelled out $700 for the touch pro wgen it first came out (dumb move)
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I paid 299 each for them with early upgrades on non data lines, but had them add the phones to the 2 data lines. My kids dont need data on thier lines.
I feel the phone is worth it and i have been waiting a long time for att to get something like this in. Im not sure if im going to keep using the inspire or the dell, yet. But my wife feels better now that she has a real replacement to the EDGE only hd2 she had before the crapdivate she just replaced.
$70 on contract with amazon and new contract but convinced ATT to give me a statement credit because my last phone's screen died three days ago after 10 months, so it was free
...except for the upgrade fee
I might just have to get one off Craigslist but its like 400 bucks.

Got mine for free with make/model exchange after 2 faulty captivates and 2 hours on the phone
$49.99 from AT$T , off contract but with a new commitment. It was a knife in my side to " re-up " with AT$T because they suck so bad.
Would have gone to T-mobile, but really wanted this phone. Here's hoping that AT$T bites the dust now that their cash cow ( iPhone ) has been spread a little thinner.

That means that my 2 year contract from my Tilt ended and I was free to take my number to another carrier with no early termination fees to AT$T.
After 18 months AT$T will allow you to upgrade your phone at a discounted price if you sign a new 2 year contract. But you cannot go to another carrier until your contract is up.
I had to sign another 2 year contract, so AT$T will easily make up the cost of the phone by taking everything I own and my first born child in outrageous service/data plans and obnoxious fees. There is a reason they are at the bottom of every customer satisfaction survey. They work hard to be there
So I took my sensation back on Sunday... it had a few bugs in it and also wasn't convincedi was getting the best deal with vodafone.... though the signal was much better than my desire on tmob.... I'll probably sick with voda
Anyway... the question its where its everyone getting the phone from? Phones4u was offering me a good deal but was slightly put off when they said the warranty with then was only a year where as vodafone will cover it for the whole contract.
The online deals are good but if anything goes wrong then you need to post it away and warrior for ages for them to sort it.
Just wondering what's everyone's preference?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I could get a 20% discount through my work so I was sorted. I got a £40 a month 18 month contract bumped down to £32 using the discount. Winner!
...there's something I don't like about 2 year contracts. Just seems far too long to be with one handset.
Agreed... I miss the times of 1 year contracts.... its the reason I'm not canceling my tmob though.... since I didn't get an upgrade at the time they've reduced my tariff to 8 pound a month... at anytime I can get an upgrade though... so I'll leave that rolling... get a sensation on another tariff then after 12 months... reduce the sensation one and get a different one with tmob

Take advantage of your system there must be a loophole somewhere. In US phone cost 550 full retail no contracts. Alot of peoples sign up a new 2 yrs contract 199 after 15 days they cancel their contract cost 200 early termination fees. Comes out to 400 add tax ill give it 450 max

I got mine as an "out of box special" (review model) from Handtec. Cost £351 including shipping. At the time, that was about $500aud. Compare that to signing up for a 2-year contract with the most expensive telco in the country, costing around $2k all up, and it looks like I got the bargain of the century.

Bought my One S yesterday for $0 after the $50 rebate. Classic plan is still less expensive than AT&T considering T-Mobile's new unlimited data plan. On top of that get the corporate 15% discount on the $400 I will pay over the value plan and I have an insurable One S through T-Mobile and Wells Fargo credit card for $360. Not a bad deal and beats buying one on craigslist.
So, be carefull.... what you think is full price may not be exactly true. $450 comes to mind.
Sorry guys the email I obtained was incorrect I edit to avoid confusion

I searched but couldn't find a similar thread.
On my March bill in the Important Information section it says that they are changing the way they calculate taxes and surcharges on premium content:
Tax & Surcharge Base Changes Effective 4/1/13, Sprint will be changing tax systems for charges such as insurance & premium content. This update may cause an increase of taxes and/or surcharges on your bill for these products. For details of taxes & surcharges, visit sprint.com/taxesandfees.
There is a slickdeals post talking about it.
It hasn't shown up on my bill yet, but may on the next bill. The URL they refer you to hasn't been updated since November, so you can't determine if your rates are going up.
Taxes going up isn't a reason/way to cancel, but if they increase the premium service fees in any way then you can cancel without the ETF.
It's worth looking into if you want to drop Sprint for another provider (or just get out of contract to get a new phone).

Correct, which is why you could cancel your contract ETF free.
The question is, what is considered premium content. Is the $10 charge for more a smartphone considered premium?
Also, this may only be regional.I know people in California have been able to cancel already without the ETF.

The phone itself doesn't determine premium or not. Premium features may be items like damage protection, international calling, etc. It almost definitely has nothing to do with what phone you have. It's premium service features.
They don't charge an additional fee for LTE service. They do however charge a fee for Smartphone data service (since smartphones use more data than a traditional cell phone). That may be considered a premium service. If it is, then every Evo 4G LTE owner has an "out" on their contract.

Thanks for sharing. I've been looking for a way out of my contact. Sprint service here gets worse by the day. Most times I get about 10kb download on 3G. And that's when my data isn't disconnecting constantly.

For those talking about the charge on the OG EVO, it wasn't a 4G charge. Ugh. I feel like I'm repeating myself because people don't pay attention and don't care to understand. The $10 charge that Sprint started with the first EVO is a $10 data surcharge for all smartphones because they CAN use more data than a dumb-phone. It has nothing to do with LTE or 4G. It was an excuse Sprint used to increase their data fees while still giving unlimited data.

As for the person mocking me regarding the .36 cent increase and switching to Verizon and paying more. Look, I didn't say you had to switch carriers, it just lets you out of your contract. So cancel and restart under a different name or something, you can get a new phone for the subsidized price. I myself am sick of the crappy service and promise of LTE in my area that never came (was supposed to be second half of last year). Even with my free AirRave, service still sucks.
I too get an employee discount, but I also get a discount with all the other carriers. The ONLY benefit I have with Sprint is the unlimited data. Verizon and AT&T would only cost me $5 more per month with better service, and 4GB of data (we haven't gone over 3GB in the last 4 years).
So, feel free to be an ass and mock me,I don't care. I'm trying to help those who DO want a new phone for $200 instead of $500, or who do want to jump carriers (and get a new phone). To those select few, your welcome and good luck!
I've been following the Slick Deals thread as well as this one also here on XDA. I've already tried calling to see if they know what my personal change will be and, of course, the rep had no idea (she actually didn't even know about the statement on the bill in the first place). My bill comes out on the 10th of each month so I have to wait until then to see the changes and start my full attack.
