Cm10 themes - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I just installed cm10 for the first time and am looking for some themes to try out... I saw some in the play store but it said hdpi and xhdpi phones only... Does our Verizon s3 fall under that category? Any info about themeing the phone would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Any themes for Xdhpi will work fine.Xdhpi is referencing the pixel density settings for the screen. Themes listed as CM9 have also worked for me. You may see a couple of different error messages when trying different themes, one is reference to theme compiling, these will not load at all typically. You may also see a reference to lacking assets, these will typically load fine. I am a fan of the mixer themes in the play store, they are listed as CM9 themes, great variety of different looking icons, and they are free.

Does anyone know of a clone of the "System" theme but has the Gingerbread green rather than the Holo teal?

Yeah geeze, where are all the themes? I see almost none for cm10. All I really want is the stock theme in a different color

I just opened up the Play Store and did a search for "CM10 Theme" and a whole bunch came up. I have downloaded about 25 different free ones (I will admit I am rather selective...) Settled on Black Exodus for now.

I can't thank you - because I ran out for the day, but i'm going to post a link to this in my thread.
You just probably solved the issue of adding additional themes to my ROM that I was unsure of how to do - if you still have all the stock themes from T-Mo/HTC as well.
Do you?
If so - you are the man!
I still do, when I set the new theme the icons you changed take a reboot to take effect, and of course htc bits don't get skinned but its a start!
when you set a theme when you go back to theme chooser it forcecloses a few times. but i was able to set a few different themes =]

Fantastic - I linked to this post from my ROM thread.
Looks like you cracked the nut open, and now it's time to sort the tasty bits from the shells.
I really appreciate you posting this find - keep us updated on what you come up with.
I'm going to spend a little time cleaning up the GPS thread I got going in dev, then jump back to Bulletproof - you've motivated me to do more work on the graphics/themes now instead of waiting.
Since it seems everyone is pretty stable on 1.1, i'll take this rest period to spend some more time graphically cleaning things up and see what I can do to get more themes added to the ROM.
I am certainly going to make a few more lockrings today - I have made and tested some using different shapes besides the ring and they work out well without problems.
I'll bang out some of those rings, then slide right into working on themes and probably cruise that avenue of development until sunrise.
I actually have to go out in the world and do some stuff tomorrow, but you've got me really excited and motivated.
If you clear cache and dalvik-cache before trying to load themes, you'll suffer less force closes on the theme chooser - let me right now make you a flashable zip i'll attach to this thread to uninstall and re-install the theme chooser and clear caches for you.
If you flash that after the new themes are on the device, it should reset the theme chooser and prevent the force closes - give me ten mins or so and i'll have it up here for you.
Dude - when I get my thanks button back you're getting some!
Edit:
Looks like I have the themes mod still up on my host for when I added the stock themes back in to the ROM when people wanted them before 1.1 - just flash this and it should solve your theme chooser problems.
Make a nandroid first - but let me know how this works for you.

D'oh! Sorry - had an empty space in the link that made it not work - my apologies, got a little loopy in my excitement!
It's fixed now, but still broken in your quote because it saved it as it was when you quoted it.
Sorry about that!

I flashed the zip. When i open theme chooser all the previews are blank. I figure this is because since they were not built to preview the themes. After applying a regular mytouch theme all the previews are there. It seems like the gesture of sliding through the previews makes them forceclose oddly enough. Sliding slowly produces no forcecloses. And when using a system theme, fast slides work fine. Im guessing there are effects missing in the cm7 themes present in htc themes

Okay - good to know and thanks for the information.
We're kinda wandering through uncharted territory as far as my knowledge base goes - while some more veteran devs may be able to handle this off the top of their head to me it's all new.
All the little tidbits of info you are providing is helping a ton - I don't have a copy of CM7 for this device, so to download it now would knock me offline.
I am, however, running CM7 on my Nook Color, which is sitting right here, so now that i've got the GPS thread handled i'm gonna see about pulling some stuff from it and getting a start on this.
I am flashing a fresh copy of 1.1 to my dev phone as I type this.
I will not be including any CM7 themes in my Bulletproof release without direct permission from them. I've asked and received permission to use some of their work in the past - which never came about because it was when I was going to take over CK23's ROM. That obviously didn't go anywhere so neither did the need to use some of their work then.
They are great people and the only request they made was to give them credit for the works of theirs I used. That being something that's important to me - as seen in my ROM thread - I don't see it being a problem to use their themes...
... but not without asking, and if they decide they do not want me to use their themes in my ROM it's not gonna happen... and no hard feelings if they say no - for all they've done for the dev community the least the rest of us can do is respect their wishes.
For the time being, i'll be using their themes to test some stuff out and see how it all works - but again, any public release is dependent upon their permission. With the attention that whole team is putting to ICS I don't expect to get any kind of answer any time soon.
I think It would be a good idea to use the themes to knock the kinks out of using cm7 themes, and build that modified version of theme chooser into bulletproof. I that way we could use the themes with no issues and just go find and download them on our own.

I like this idea too. Figuring out what's missing from either the two theme-chooser/manager.apk files or the themes themselves so people can find their own themes is definitely important.
My goal for Bulletproof was to distribute it with about 20 themes to start on a fresh install - we gotta do something with all that free internal memory available now.
You've definitely paved the way for that dream to become a reality with this discovery and the supporting information you've been supplying since - I can't thank you enough for this.
I love the open source philosophy, curious people, and the home XDA has made for us to share awesome stuff like this - I just can't contain my level of excitement right now and am bouncing off the walls with enthusiasm.
It really is amazing, I'm just glad to have a mysense rom with awesome themes like honeycomb and gingerblur.
I think the themes themselves are missing the animations compatible with htcs theme engine.
The normal one doesn't bounce around with card like themes. I think that's the real problem, including which makes sense why it doesn't handle swipes well. I it doesn't know how to replicate the bouncing cards.

As far as I can tell it just requires a deodexed rooted mysense ROM.
Use mybackup root to backup your apps including themes and restore it them with data afterward

Yeah I can't download the themes anymore, and I deleted my titanium backups recently. Ill try it tonight, my brother is running the cm7 rom

[Q] Ace Hack Themes?

So I searched up and down for my answer, could not find, if im THAT blind I do apologize lol.
I have rooted my HTC Inspire 4G (At&T) with Ace Hack awhile ago and just pretty much used it just to change fonts...I was looking for some themes to install onto my phone but I was wondering if the themes had to be spacifically for Ace Hack? Also, I know you can change fonts and remove stock apps ect. with a rooted phone but can I change font color or would that depend on the app I install?
Thank you for taking time to read and/or answer!

wait, wut? The Ace Hack Kit has nothing to do with changing themes. Basically you have some options. Some ROMs have themes built specifically for them. ARHD for instance has some themes that can be flashed. You can also use the UOT kitchen to customize a theme for yourself, it may not be as inclusive as a true theme but it does a good job at getting almost ever aspect. You can also use a different launcher, i.e. Go Launcher or something different, and they have themes for each launcher.
Fonts can be changed by using the font installer app. the color of the font depending on what font you're talking about can be changed with UOT kitchen or with a theme you use. Hope that helps!

haha not a problem! yeah ROM specific themes are few and far between, especially since the ROMs are updated often which sometimes causes changes in framework which in return causes the new to update the theme. You can always try ADW launcher, they too have some themes. If you aren't opposed to CM based ROMs I know they have a theme chooser app as well. UOT though seems to be the best option short of learning to theme that gives you the most customizable experience.

[Q] Where's the best place to find CM10 Themes?

Just wondering if there is a good site or forum with access to great CM10 themes for my Samsung Galaxy S3
Look no further but in our own backyard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1799685
Also, you can find a plethora of themes in the playstore by searching for CM10 or CM9 themes
There's also a cool free app called Theme Chooser, that makes finding all aosp themes much easier than in the play store. The play store after a search, automatically goes to the top of your search after you look at an app. Annoying if you've scrolled down far to check some out.

More/custom HTC Themes?

So I see that Sense 6 has themes...but a very limited amount of them (4). This wouldn't be so bad, but the themes provided consist of a purple/blue one, an orange/red one, and two that use like a mintish green for their primary colors. Ick.
Just curious if anybody has isolated where in the system these are kept yet. I've poked around with root explorer, but have yet to grab the full system dump and go through it proper-like. I'd really like to find where these are kept so I can go about making something of the holo variety. That, plus google home launcher and a modded helvetica font would make for a very elegant looking UI.
This is something I'm hoping for too. Very weak selection of themes out of the box.

Not many choices for themes?

I run a samsung galaxy s7 (qualcomm), and I run the nova launcher as a replacement for the default touchwiz home launcher. I have only one theme downloaded to my phone (Purple Tech by prapas chantavali, from the samsung theme store/app), and I like it, mostly for the purple color. Most themes I saw on substratum and here are dark themed but with barely any purple; and for what themes not on substratum, they say "its trial only, but use root explorer, move/delete some stuff, and its free"
TL;DR for a person who has a qualcomm s7 and therefore can't root or flash, what really are my choices for themes. and for those hosted on either substratum or here, are any of them purple and free? free themes with no ads are really preferred

just buy it on Theme Store.
Hahahaha a very intelligent way to ask for free paid themes xD
Jk.
The only thing that you can do is to purchase it over playstore or Samsung theme store.... Because Samsung is a heavy modified UI most of the themers are selling their themes (for a good reason)
I've been thinking about building themes and starting a thread, I've already tested on my wife's phone, and only takes 2 apks(font/theme).
I'll post my current personal theme, I can do quite a bit theme wise. If your interested. I can explain what I am able to include and exclude.
It's a quick look, but almost all stock Google and Samsung apps are covered, system interfaces included.
Quick note, wanted to add one picture, for anyone that doesn't care for hero amoled. Also, shop wouldn't let me add this picture as an edit.
Hi, first time posting so no doubt I've probably posted in the wrong spot, wrong format or given a remedial, uninformed, dumbarse response, or a combo of everything all at once.
No biggie, considering my noob questions about rooting are coming next - I'm also Aussie so that will be making me laugh for years to come - but if a lack of themes are your only issue, go get yourself a copy of KLWP and KWGT and make your own with relative ease. Or download free presets from G+ and PlayStore or buy some of the really sweet presets from the PlayStore....
OK, now to go find a stupid arse spot to post questions about rooting. Lol...rooting
there is an app called themeGalaxy. create ur own theme.
