As the title said, vibration doesn't work for me anymore.
When I flashed the leaked ics, my vibration stopped and the compass or magnetic meter or whatever it's called stopped working. I thought this was a problem with leaked ICS.
I have flashed the nordic rom via odin now and the compass works again but vibration doesn't.
Does anyone else have the same issues? Please help me
I can't do much without vibration
"I like spelling my name backwards"
could be hardware probs cuz my vibration didnt work like 4 months ago and i just didnt fix it ... Try to plug in ur headphone , and push the input bit to the left ( the side with volume buttons ) , try your vibration . If thats the case then its hardware prob .

I've tried all that. Vibration worked on gingerbread.
It could be a hardware problem but getting off leaked ics fixed the compass. Software might similarly be in the way of the vibration.

I'm on TheFrankenstain MOD and I had lost the vibration once. I had to reboot and the issue got solved, but the problem is different from yours.
Hey Pudup buddy,
I think this can be discussed on MJ's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837966 thread..??
For downgrading please use this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843093&highlight=downgrade+to+gb
Buddy, I know you are having a problem but searching before making threads is also a rule of XDA.:good:
Dont mind it buddy.
Reporting to MOD.

Nevermind, I found the problem. And yeah I did search but nothing turned up :3
Anyway the vibrator motor and the earphone jack are one piece and are connected by a small flex cable. Well the flex cable has been cut right down the middle
It's really small. I'd say its been caused by me probably dropping or jerking the phone while headphones were in and that caused the vibrator motor to break away from the headphone jack.
Seems to be a problem for people using Galaxy S2 as well. That's samsung products for you.
EDIT: And while I was trying to fix the thing before by doing what someone suggested which was using a headphone pin and moving it back and forth, I managed to tear the connecting to the earpiece too. So now I don't have a vibrator and I can't hear calls without earphones :/
Gotta get this **** replaced.

Woah ! :3
Why did you try you fix it on your own buddy ?
The electronics inside are very delicate, you should touch the internals only if you know what you're doing.
I hope you can get it repaired under warranty & this little tear doesn't void your warranty. :good:

As bhavik said, flash 2.3.5 Indian stock & give it to the SSC.
If you by any chance give them your handset with ICS flashed on it then at first they would be amazed & may / may not allow you claim warranty.

Empty your memory card by copying the files to your PC. :silly:

Before giving it to service center first flash Stock ROM of your country and do factory reset (similar to formatting the phone memory), what happened to your phone ..

It's Really Strange problem with touch screen
Phone is in service center now.
Might sell it after it comes back and get a Note
S4Sixty - I had a very similar problem.. screen used to go bonkers.. Do crazy things... I was really fed up... But then later i found out it was a screenguard problem... I am not sure if its the same with you but that was the problem with mine.. I changed from matte to gloss and I got complete control over my phone again... Strange but true.

Update :
Collected my phone back from Samsung Service Center.
They changed the LCD and flashed 2.3.5 Official (they claim it is the most recent ROM for my country.....Sheesh).
Advice me to remove the screen protector which is usually the main cause of the touch screen responsiveness. Took their advice ( as well as reymsterio7) and applied a clear guard instead of the matte protector i was using before.
Result : All looks good now. I dun know if it was the screen problem or the matte guard which was the problem.
Overall, i'm glad i dun have to change phones now.

Yeah I flashed Stock FW and my counter was 0 since I used to flash Custom ROM's through CWM.
Those guys act so ignorant man, they never understand the problem! I called them just now and they saying "You problem is network switching off right??" . I have clearly told them that phone gets switched off possiblly while connecting to network so plz check with a SIM inserted. They dont understand. I dunno why cant Samsung hire professionals to deal with our phones bought by our hard earned money. Their service is a joke.

glad to know that your prob got resolved, as you said they changed LCD now you face any prob with screen protectors?
I have a glossy protector on my Galaxy R yet my screen goes bonkers.
So it is definitely a Hardware/ Software issue. I haven't gone to customer care centre yet, With the hope of getting an update for my R.
BTW, Why do you think MATTE Protectors are causing the trouble?
I was thinking of getting one. And also I need your help about the CC part should I go and tell them what my problems are? Or should I just wait for an update?

hey,
think everyone got this since the update. We had some posts on this in the german android help forums.
I mailed motorola, they said I should try a factory reset.. which didnt help (so you dont have to try).
I mailed them again and they said they forward that error to the technicians. So when I here something about this I post it here !
Please post all questions in the Q & A section. Thanks! Thread moved.

My MZ608-32 have the same problem after I upgrade to ICS, only sound on one speaker, I try to factory reset two times and nothing, in some aplications the lower speaker function with very low volume at example some YouTube videos. With readphones both sides work fine.
In my MZ607 from Brazil I have same bug. But I like so much this bug, with it I send my MZ607 for warranty and probably I get my money back. And get unlock bootloader tablet.
Not Good
I have a Xoom 2 ME and since updating to ICS, I too, have the same sound problem. Do you all think it is worth us clubbing together and sending a mass e-mail to Motorola and see if we can get some form of OTA update to fix the problem? We are only getting half the speakers working and we paid for them ALL to work!
Has anyone got a place we can send such error reports to?
Many Thanks in Advance

Hi guys.
I found a workaround for this bug. For now im using some Tasker profiles to change the speakers configuration when the screen orientation is changed, but i plan to write an app to do this automatically. Root is needed to workaround this bug, and permanent rom changes aren't necessary so it doesn't break OTA updates.
In not sure why motorola disabled this feature on the ics update, it works ok here, a "pop" can be heard when the screen is rotated, maybe thats their reason...
Hi, it would be great to make the speakers work again.

Hi guys, sorry for the delay on this. The apk is done and uploaded to google play. Been using it for a few weeks now, works good.

Hmmm I was gonna say blown speaker but...now I'm not sure. How long has this been going on? Could it be network related (I know kind of a coincidence) if it were me I would try a clean install or new ROM. Maybe downgrade to last OS temporarily to rule out a hardware or network issue. Hope somebody has more info for you.

Hey, I have a bit of a problem. My screen is acting weird, clicking randomly or just not responding at all sometimes. The only way to fix it is to lock and unlock my screen. Sometimes, even that doesn't work. I also noticed a dead pixel on my screen. It's not very visible but annoying nonetheless.
Sometimes, after a call, my phone just stops responding, and I need to keep the power button pressed to restart it.
What could be reason for these problems? Also, I still have my warranty left. Would the service centre people be willing to fix an issue such as this?
I'm in college right now and won't be able to give it for service for another week. I'm not sure if parts are still available for our device. :/
Also, any news on the official India ICS update? I've been waiting for a while now, checking the forum every few hours for an update or a stable CM build. I know it devs can do it. Can't wait for it.
PS: Any news of epsy? He's been gone for a while now.

may be its about your fingers huh? if u touch the screen with sweated or wet fingers, messaging is going to be nightmare
my advice is cleaning your screen with a clean and wet linen or cotton material, and then with a dry one.
also have a high quality screen protecter film.
if u have already tried this and the prob still occours, thats something that i dont have any idea
Thanks, I'll take it to the SSC as soon add i get home.
btw, i avoid using my phone with sweaty or wet hands, and since wiping the screen doesn't help, that's probably not it.
I think the screen guard might be the culprit after all. I've been thinking of changing it for a while now. any suggestions on which one to get?

Hello, this is my first post on XDA I recently bought a OPO from a friend fairly cheap, he just changed the digitalizer on it as he cracked the screen. The only problem was that the loud speaker stopped working when he replaced it. Everything else on the phone is working fine. I've opened up the phone to look at the ''motherboard'' which the speakers connect to, can't see any issues (would post a picture on the parts i mean, but since i haven't made 10 posts i can't have links in my posts). Now, can it be this part acting up? As i read somewhere that this part also controlls the vibration, and the 3 buttons in the bottom of the phone. But those work just fine. Or could it be the actual speakers? But i couldn't think that he could possibly manage to break the speakers somehow... Any suggestions? Also, english isn't my main language so excuse me if there are any errors in my text
