YouTube skipping on liquid ics 1.5 jmod - Thunderbolt General

Trying to watch movies on YouTube, and for every movie, right around the 1:10 (an hour and 10 min) mark, the playback starts skipping. I tried the same movies on the GB thundershed rom and it played all the way to the end, with no problems. Tried flashing different radios, which had no effect. Same result when I tried using TubeMate.
Tried wiping cache + dalvik, and fix permissions. No change. Anyone else experience this?

What were you using to play the videos originally? I'll try to repeat what you did and see if I have the same result.

On thundershed I used the YouTube app. Without issues.
The YouTube app and the TubeMate app in ICS gives me the problem.

Video app only partially plays vids

Question: Hi there
the stock video app on my tab plays videos partially then stops and goes back to the video list. Is this a known bug and if it is does anyone know how to fix it? If i access videos via the file explorer it plays fine!
Also is there any way to play all videos continuously and randomly or a player that does this?
Thanks

Hmm. Playing the video partially is weird. What if you keep tapping the screen? will it finish playing?
If you click on the menu button, there is a option that says "Auto Play Next".
Hi there
the video stops suddenly so i am unable to tap the screen. It then returns to video app screen. The same video will play fully if accessed via the file explorer, that's the weird thing. This means i can not use the auto play next feature within the video app although the video app is what plays the video when opened via explorer.

Does this happen on all video's?
Hi there yes it does?

Have you tried any other video players just to see if it also happens outside of the stock player?
Yes, i jave tried numerous apps such as qq, zimly and mixzing and they all work fine. They just do not have what i need, which is the ability to arrange videos in various orders such as date or size as well as auto play next or random play. The stock player is perfect for this need. As above, if i open.the videos via the my files folder it uses the stock app to play the videos and the problem is gone. This would be fine but this way you lose the ability to auto play video. Its extremely frustrating! The video app seems to play about 2 mins of videos then audio goes slightly jerky and it stops and returns to app. Is there a way to re install the video app? Thanks

Reinstalling the video app would require Root. Have you done that or considered it?
By advised rooting does invalidate your warranty. Samsung issued a newsletter to all service centres advising them if they received any phones that had been rooted they were not to carry out repairs under warranty.
Anyway, has it happened all the time since owning the Tab or has it only started playing up recently?
If it has been playing up all the time it may be something to do with the codecs of the video where when you select direct from the player it picks up the problem but misses when you select the video using a third-party selector (My Files you mentioned).
If that is the case there is nothing you can do about it other than ensure your movie files don't have the same codecs.
If it has been playing up only recently it will be some form of corruption that has crept in.
The only way you are going to get around this is either root your Tab and reinstall the Player.app (providing you can get hold of one that is).... or carry out a Factory Reset that should clear the problem.
Hi thanks the advice. I will try a factory reset abd hopefully that will work as i do not want to root the device.

video playing completely stops working after several hours... please help

Hey all, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I much enjoy watching movies on the DC's beautiful amoled display...
HERE'S THE PROBLEM: Upon booting my phone, all videos run fine (mp4, flv, youtube, facebook, etc.). However, after several hours and upon going to play a video, it either doesn't load on site or, when opened in video player, moboplayer, mplayer, vplayer, etc, i get the "sorry this video cannot be played" message. Upon rebooting, my videos work again... for a time
Is anyone else experiencing this issue or have any possible idea what's causing it/how to fix it? thanks in advance
fyi my phone is running imnuts' ed2 debloated v4 kernel, rooted of course

I have had the music player and pandora not function untill after reboot. The music player would say that MP3 is not supported, lol. Also on imnuts voodoo kernel.
I'm having the same problem...after a while nothing is recognized on the media player and you tube videos play with no video, just a black screen...reboot fixes it...

Anyone tried updating Flash to see if it makes a difference?
I'm stock ed2 and have the same issue. Only a reboot fixes it for me.
I wonder if it's some kind of memory leak. Be interesting to look at when you start having the issue.

how do you do that? I mean, I've looked up flash updates, but I think it's built into the operating system? i can't find any. *I apologize if these are noob statements but I really am at a loss. And would flash alone account for ALL my videos not working, even ones that aren't flv files?

Stock ED2....same issue...reboot is only fix...gonna post to verizon support so maybe an update will fix.
It seems my audio issues only surface when I plug the headphone jack in b4 playing music, I get a "does not support this format message". When I start the music and then plug in, no problems.
Bumping this thread to see if anyone found a solution or knows what causes this.

I did hear someone say that installing CWM, PBJ lagfix kernel, and Gummy CHARGED ROM helped with freezing videos they would get, but I don't know what aspect of that helped.
Same issue here, on both ED2 and EE4. All apps that require the media player service, like YouTube, HBOgo, DoggCatcher, etc will NOT play until you reboot. Other apps that do not use the internal playback player like Poweramp continue to work. Only remedy is a reboot. VERY annoying.
I have submitted this issue to Samsung and I am waiting to see what they have to say. If EVERYONE else who has this issue and is reading this can do the same, it would be greatly appreciated.
I made this quick video summarizing the issues we are seeing here. If you can, please distribute it to people and maybe we can gain some attention. This is driving me nuts!

Similar Problem
Mine doesn't play videos from other sources no matter what. Lame because when I went over to GummyCharged, the same videos work fine.

Sorry this video cannot be played problems

Hello xda community!
I have been having a persistant problem with youtube lately with playing videos.
Everytime i go to play one, it gives me this annoying message "Sorry this video cannot be played."
I have tried clearing and resetting my browser, but the problem still persists. The same problem with the youtube app.
If anyone would be kind enough to help me resolve this problem, i would greatly appreciate it!

Custom rom? Fire wall activated? Latest flash players not installed? I have had those issues before that prevented me from using youtube
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
why dont you just use your youtube app?
I'm experiencing the same problem with the Youtube app.
In addition to that, I can't play any video from my SD card, getting exactly the same error message: "Sorry, this video cannot be played."
I've tried removing the cache used by the Youtube app, which helped in the past to solve some problems, but can't find a solution.
I'm using CM7 for Motorola Milestone.

Video problems

Hey there, i have a problem with youtube on my phone, everytime i load a video, my screen starts flickering, only the video, NOT the hud, i un-installed it, cleared data and tried every thing, but nothing works, could it be my rom or kernel??
Thanks for your time

Hi, maybe some problems with flash player.
Try uninstalling the flash player or update it via the play store.
There is a small possibility that your gpu is ****d up, you can test this by playing a game or try to play a self made video that u captured with your phone. If all works well, the flash player itself is to blame.
Good luck!
??????Question
:cyclops:When did it work last without doing that? Have you changed the device in anyway since then?
reflash the rom
I fixed it, just updated my rom , flash player didnt work D:
Thanks anyways <3
