Can I change my mac address on my droid charge? I think I have been caught looking for a new job while at work using the company wifi. I know stupid. But any help would be great. Thank you.

just curious on why you didn't just use 4g\ 3g? Idk if it's possible to change a phones mac, but how can they associate your phone with that MAC address? Did you have to enter your name and password, accept agreements or something similar? If you did chances are it wont make a difference seeing how you already registered that MAC to your name.
it is possible, but i'm not sure how. i know the first handful of roms i flashed would change my mac address with each flash - i know this b/c i filter my router access by mac addy.
so it can be done.

It doesn't really matter. If your employer is geeky enough to pin you down by MAC address, then they are geeky enough to decode the MAC Address and figure out it's a mobile phone. And if they "caught you" then your phone's MAC address is the least of your problems. Your web activity is much more relevant than a MAC.
You might want to dust off that resume if you're so concerned!

I have read and understand the importance of these rules. My reason for posting here was the fact that the mac Address is no like needing to start your music player or something general it is something that even in this category most people seem to know very little about while I greatly appreciate all the help I believe that this would be the correct place to post a question such as this. I did move it to the other forum after the first person advised me to do so. Once again I would like to let everyone know how much I appreciate all the help and support I get from this forum.

Does anyone know a link for an apk clone of cyanogenmod7. Like a launcher.(Ex. ICS launcher by team syndicate). If not then post a very detailed step by step way to install CM7 and if you can include HTC EVO shift permrooting instructions. First question I can actually help answer. Lol.
From what I saw in the forums. He got suspended because he broke some rules. Don't know any details but he's not gonna be updating the pages anymore. He has a website by the same name as his username I believe. But that's all I know. If any other details are known by someone else, I doubt their allowed to say. Hope this helps.

Hi, I've came across several posts online about people using their incredible on the straight talk service. I have the cdma workshop already, qpst & other software even a remote access program. I really would be thankful if someone could help me with doing this? I know its possible because theirs people that will do it for a fee. ok i believe i got it unlocked cuz it shows tamper and underneath has unlocked i used the all in 1 kit from hanson and i know he said flash recoveries but when i hit TWRP 2.5.0.0 nunthin happens the only thang under flash the TWRP and your own recovery wen i hit that cmd pops up wantin command exit out of that . a window pops i hit TWRP.img says recover flash done but a window pops up error variable used without being declared usb debuggin enable could somebody pls help me out here P.S sorry if this is the wrong thread new here

Yeah it was in the correct thread. Only problem is that the question had been asked and answered countless times already. The devs have had to post so many times already for people to search before asking a question, because stupid questions like that, which are being asked numerous times out of laziness are clogging the thread up. I know you're using your phone, but so are many others. And all it takes is to switch to web view and use the search feature. I answered your question, with a reminder to search.

Have a look at the last few pages of the Sense 5 thread. The devs in there are sick and tired of answering stupid questions like yours because people like you are too lazy and dumb to do a simple search. There's nothing wrong with my logic, it's stated within the guidelines of xda that you must search before asking questions. You broke xda rules. There's everything wrong with your logic, using an excuse like "I can't search in the app" is ridiculous. Use a godamn browser. Simple as that. Buy a clue.

I do recommend taking some time and reading some stickies. You may run into issues down the line and they will give you insight as to how to resolve them if they should come about. The oneXL has some quirks and it's not all to difficult to end up with a brick.

Ware84, are you sure you want to fiddle with your phone?
This is not easy and you could entirely break your phone and need to buy a new one.
Altering your phone is sometimes fun for geeks but for the general public the sense roms actually work better. Your stock phone will function more reliable than swapping to cm etc.
I think you should seriously consider if you a "super geek" user that is capable of doing these complex modifications to your phone or if you will even enjoy your phone after doing it.
I think you would prefer just leaving your phone alone.
