I was curious if anyone else is having the same issue as me.
Once my phone hits 20% the phone will shut off and the battery will be completely dead. It starts having the read issues at 23% but once it hits 20% the phone will shut off and i will have to charge it again. I don't know if there's an issue with the phone or i screwed up a file on the phone and its not reading correctly
I have Odin it back to stock and wiped all data and still have the same issue. It is very weird. This issue started to happen 2 days ago

That is a Battery Issue nothing software related. Other people reported that as well.

Next time use the Search button tho since other people have asked this before.
Bummer Dude I have taken mine down to 0. Fully functional
all the way down no read issues. I would definitely call Verizon
to get a new battery. (See Attached)
Thanks for the link. Verizon is sending me a new battery for free. Hopefully it helps.
ImgBurn i have to ask. how the hell do you get 2 full days lol the most i have ever had was 1 day 2 hours

I've got a att fuze that was working perfectly then all of a suddern (after giving my girlfriend crap about her iphone battery lasting crap all time) my phone just started to heat up and the battery drains in 10 minutes.
i will only chargte to about 60% overnight and not turned on....
then it will lose 15% on a reset and today it dropped from 45% to 4% in 2 minutes.....
when it is on it heats up near the camera lens.
Is there something stuffed on the phone or is it the battery?
it was working perfect then all of a sudden 2 days ago it just started doing this.
ive tried new roms and radios and it still does it ive taken the sd card and sim out turned it onto airplane mode and it still does it.
just wondering if its the battery or the phone and if anyone else has had this problem.
i got the phone off ebay (in perfect condition worked like a dream till this) and it has no warranty.
Thanks in advance.

After putting on usb for 4 hours to get it over 50% and flashed the new ATT rom onto it and then it seemed to be fine. then put energy 6.5 on.
The night before I was impatient and flashed it by forcing boot loader (so it didnt have to be over 50% charge, it was on 24% i think) and running the flash program. next day once it got to 92% it started.
I would of checked that battery but these phones are very uncommon here and everyone i know has an iphone....
so word of warning MAKE SURE IT HAS 50% CHARGE BEFORE FLASHING!!!!
this easiest way to see if it's the battery or something in the phone that's causing the issue is to try another battery or different phone with your existing battery. that would be my first step in troubleshooting.

Try changing your radio ROM to a different one. When the radio is constantly searching betweem 3G and EDGE it heats up and will stop charging.
Make sure you Security Unlock your device first and follow instructions from the Wiki.
Hi all, laid down to take a nap and woke up to a dead Thunderbolt. I can't get it to turn on, no indication light is shown when it is connected to the charger, and I get an unknown device when plugging into USB and trying to ADB reboot.
Everything was fine right before I took a nap and now nothing works . I've never flashed leaked radios and the latest ROM I was running was CM7 RC1.2 with the stock kernel. Not really sure what else to do at this point except weep.
try pulling out the battery?
Tried several battery pulls and none seemed to make a difference. My phone decided to come alive again just a few minutes ago on its own. Now I'm really perplexed by what happened and worried this may happen again in the future.
Uber-weird...
I read this post last night, then woke up this morning with the same symptoms. Plugged it into charger and the indicator light just blinked once and then nothing. I guess this is where some might panic but just let it alone, it doesn't have enough juice to power up yet.

yeah i have seen that before...sometimes you just gotta leave it plugged in to charge for a little before you can boot up the phone
Agreed let it charge a while or go get a new battery and try it

Yesterday when this happened, I was at around 50% battery life. If others are experiencing the same symptoms then we should try to get to the bottom of this somehow. Not really sure what kind of diagnostics or feedback I could submit because other than this freak accident my phone has been running perfectly.

When people had issues like this before for some reason they experienced battery drain and didn't realize the battery was really dead. If its that it could be a bad app, rom issue, or kernel issue.
If is battery after you fully charge I would wipe battery stats then maybe run a rom of your chosing without unnecessary mods or apps to see if it still happens

I have had this happen to me twice in the past few weeks. Each time I just left it alone, charging, and tried powering on after several minutes (10+). I would then fully charge and calibrate the battery.
To OP .... i also had an issue like this and i ended up having to warranty replace it with VZW.
This one was already a replacement to a previous one, and within minutes of booting it up, it was experiencing 'reboot' problems. Verizon indicated i should wait for the update to fix the issue. I just left the phone plugged into the wall for the weekend (didnt even look at it), and Monday morning it was dead. I pulled battery.... let it sit unplugged, let it sit with pulled battery ... nothing would bring it to life.
is this a rooted phone?
If so, we can flash an alternate kernal to see if that is the problem. Usually powering off problems are related to the kernal in my experience with the TB.
IF NOT,
I would try wiping the device so there are no apps before returning to verizon for a refurbed.
It is not likely but possible you have a misbehaving app draining your batter like crazy.
Also, your phone might be doing something weird like closing system resources when it needs ram by accident thinking its an app or something. I've seen that happen before.
I have had this problem twice in the last three days. The two days it happened, I woke up to a dead phone while still plugged in. Unplugged it and put it back on the charger and it eventually turned on. I use it as my alarm clock, so its getting frustrating having to rush to get ready in the morning because my phone dies when on the charger. It is rooted with bamf 3.0, but I haven't done anything to it in months just because it ran so good. I am going to check my app stats to see what I may have downloaded.
When my battery charge drops to 80-70% my phone turns off. When I try to reboot it turns off almost immediatly after I have dialed my PIN. But if i recharge at the same time when I boot it works just fine.
I read topics about similar problems and they said that it may be caused by bad battery. Could it be the reason why Im having this problem? If it is, what kind of a battery would you recommend me to buy?
I have the same issue. My battery is at 100% and it shuts off on me. Sometime it last a while but then just shuts down again. Hope someone knows a fix.
Only just seen this thread, and I'm getting the same problem. Anker battery? I'm considering putting my standard one back in to see if it cures the issue. If so, I guess I'll be looking for a stock XE battery instead.
About a week ago my Sensation started working like a charm. Don't know what happened. Charged it overnight and no problems anymore. No idea what happened there...

I think I've got the same problem. It doesn't matter if battery is 10 or 110% phone reboots after 30sek. The only fix I found so far is to leave music on all the time
Hey guys, i've seen some other threads about batteries being stuck at 100% but they were generally with rooted devices so i figured i'd make one here.
The Problem
My infinity will charge fine, usually 1% per minute and when discharging going from 100% to 35% in about 5 hours screen on time, mainly using web apps, no real gaming, maybe dead trigger for 20 mins per charge. However when i take my tab off the charger it will stay at 100% for over 45 mins, and most recently over 1h 20m, causing the battery reading to be way off. Today it randomly shut down claiming i had 20% left.
Does anyone have any ideas? Like i said device is non-rooted and i dont have much interest in rooting it. Problem started just before we got the Jelly Bean update, and i got the tab in mid august, so it was working fine for a couple months.
The next logical step would be to factory reset and contact asus if that doesn't solve anything. I was hoping to avoid that if you guys had any tips or tricks.
Thanks
My TF700T has just started doing this. So your not the only one. I've only just started to search around for a solution.

I suggest you make a backup then do a a factory reset (twice). After that check to make sure this issue is gone, before re install any apps. If this doesn't resolved the issue, you need to reflash the full Asus firmware. This eliminated your software issue, and the last 1% chance is your hardware.(but very rare).

I've done as you suggested. Including factory reseting the tablet twice.
I've had the tablet off the charger for 14 hours and 28 minutes. And it's still showing 100%...
Worth noting: It was fully charged with the dock this morning. I've taken the tablet off the dock and used it for the day and it's still 100%
Anyone else got any other suggestions?
Same problem here, started two days ago, the transformer shuts down at ˜33-35%. Installed battery monitor app and it reports ˜500mAh still availble just prior to the shutting down. After it shuts down it's dead until I plugg it the power chord, it charges to 100% but then the same story again, shutting down at 33-35% remaining battery left. I've tried the battery calibration app which deletes the batterystats.bin file but that didn't do anything. Also tried three factory resets without any success... I'm on stock ROM but rooted.
Any ideas to what to try now? Or should I wait for the next firmware upgrade and see if the reflashing of the firmware will resolve this?
How do I reflash the installed firmware version, want to try that next...

What do your power saver settings show under settings?
Mine are at 10%
Have you factory reset your tablet recently?

Everything in power saver settings is left default, 15%. But the transformer never reaches that level..
Oh, and I also have the same behaivor as the orginator of this thread, the battery shows 100% for good while after a full charge until it stops dropping, forgot to mention that. My tablet is four month old and this just started... Unfortunaltey is feels like a HW issue with the battery reporting the wrong remaining charge to the OS... But I will wait for a new firmware to see if a reflash resets the battery configuration somehow.

My TF700 shut down at 25% battery today. I think it's time to contact ASUS to see what they can do.

Try to poweroff your device and let it stay down for 1/2 hrs, then power it back on see if that resolved your issue.
You need to recalibrate the battery.

This is what I did. except I left it plugged in over night, then unplugged it, turned it on and it is back to normal.

I tried this to no avail. Worth noting the device was off for about 5 hours when the battery went flat. I've also tried turning it off and charging it.
I have a TF700 on a TF300 dock, and I have found that if I unplug the tablet from the dock, while the dock is plugged into the wall, it stays at that battery level until I plug it back into the keyboard. Deleting batterystats.bin, turning it off, waiting long enough for it to get to 8.4V, and then doing a cold boot seems to fix it.
As of maybe a couple of months, my phone shuts off almost immediately after getting to 20% it turns off and when plugged starts charging from 16% or so. Any idea what may be causing this and how to fix it?
I have the same issue mate. It happened twice for me. Was using Snapchat and the battery drained down to 19% and then it suddenly showed 0% and the phone shut down. And then after I charged it for a bit, it showed around 20%
I have same problem here, guess factory reset might helps.
Same issue on my friend's Honor 8.
Mine turns off at random percentages. Sometimes it happens at 20%, 10% and most recently 67%. I'm wondering if changing the battery would fix the issue
same issue here disappeared for like 2 months and it happened today
This suddenly happened to me today, I was using Snapchat and I took a pic, was writing a caption to send to my friends and all of a sudden it dropped to 0% and shut off, even though it was already at low battery I know It still had enough life for me to be able to send the snap and listen to music. What sucks is that I didn't look at the battery percentage before It turned off but when I turned it back on it was at 13%, even though when I tried turning it on from before it kept telling me 0% and shutting off repeatedly
i noticed that when i plugged in the charger and checked the recents all the apps opened were showing up.....looks like its doing soft reboot but cant complete the reboot......smh!!!
Same problem here

Rooted stock
I realize that it happens when it's really cold outside. It happened to me a second time today when I was outside in the cold, so I guess the phone turns off to prevent anything from happening internally, because it shut off at around 50% of battery and when I turned it back on it wasn't 0% like it had told me
I'm switching out the battery today I'll let you guys know if it fixes the issue
No root till now fully stock.
Well replacing the battery fixed the issue. I also deleted battery stats once it was charged to 100%
Same issue here. My device goes from 20% to 1% in about 2 seconds. And then when i charge the phone, it shows charging from 19%. It happens all the time.
Hi, had same but my first time died when I was flying drone with it, it was at 17% of bat. I was so nervous that I lose my drone that I forgot to check what was the problem with bat. Now when I was trying to film my daughter skiing after 2min outside of my pocket it turned off although bat. was at 78% and tem. outside was -3*C. Yesterday I've send it on warranty, I let you know what they say (if anything). Mine H8 is stock no root.
Wander is there any app than can check number of cycles of battery, this way I will know for sure if Service replaced battery or only told that it was replaced

Did the service center fix the issue?
Yes, they replaced battery, screen and frame, actually they only left old back panel and MB. Screen was replaced because of dead pixels (but I didn't saw any before). After a year, I think I have same issue with battery again but this time no warranty anymore ;(
