RPG Games for the Infinity - Asus Transformer TF700

Anybody has any suggestion for some good RPG games for the Infinity?
Hopefully, some that would utilize well the good screen resolution of the tablet
I know there's a separate thread for games but I guess RPG gamers out there would appreciate the filter
Thanks a lot ^_^

There's an old buggy port of Baldur's Gate for Android and there's a proper tablet version coming soon, for what it's worth...
I believe you'll find more Diablo-like games (Heroes Call, for example) than proper RPGs which seem to be getting out of fashion, but I'm waiting for some hints here as well, perhaps someone knows something (HD) tablet-optimised.

It's a bit pricey but Square did a good job remaking Final Fantasy 2. It's not out of this world on the graphics but its still fun. Look up some youtube videos of the game play.

One more vote for Final Fantasy III, the game looks amazing on the infinity and the controls are well thought out.
If you're a fan of JRPGS (turn based selection combat) then any of the games by KEMCO are good. The story may not be as epic as chrono trigger, but it gets the job done lol
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...lution+Co.,+Ltd.)#?t=W251bGwsbnVsbCxudWxsLDNd
Finally you can also play all the old RPGS with an SNES emulator, I suggest https://play.google.com/store/apps/...vbS5idWJibGV6YXBnYW1lcy5zdXBlcmduZXNfbGl0ZSJd
I've been playing all the fan translated rpgs that were released in Japan but not for the US like suikoden 3!

are these turn based?

got that final fantasy III game and i must say that it definitely is awesome... they actually did a lot of change in the graphics compared to the original one...
i wonder what else is out there for our infinity? I just downloaded Horn and so far it looks great... but im actually looking for some more Japanese RPG games similar to final fantasy... any other suggestion?

I just noticed DosBox Turbo is available. OH MAN. I wonder if I can get Master of Magic and some other great classics running in it! That really opens up the possibilities!!

I'm crossing my fingers for Gameloft to properly port Order and Chaos to the infinity.
The game was sweet on my Galaxy Nexus, so I wonder how it will be on this baby!

If the you have the snes emulator and a good source of roms, see if they have 7th saga. That was pretty neat growing up. It had about 4 or 5 main characters to play as with different story lines.
While waiting for O&C, check out Iruna Online. I think the company is still working on an official final release but it is promising. You have your group online game play etc. Makes you wonder what Gameloft is doing when a much smaller company can release a beta version of their online game that is compatible with our TF700.

Also if you like old school Baulder's Gate style RPGS I have to recommend Avadon: The Black Fortress

bards tale
the bards tale like the olders versions on mac and ps, the hd version is 3.5gig but its worth it. :good:

Haven't purchased myself yet but Spectral Souls (if you are into Japanese SRPG) has relatively high rating among Japanese community.

looking for those types......................

For turn based I rate the following :
Call of Cthulhu : Wasted Land
Xenowar
The first is a seriously brilliant horror rpg based in H P Lovecraft's world and during the first world war.
The second is a very good remake of X-Com Enemy Unknown.

bringing this back up as Bard's Tale isnt jiving real well with JB for me. Even in performance mode, when you run into several enemies the game slows to a crawl and eventually force closes.
Anyone else having this issue or have a solution?

I bought Bard's Tale HD version (3,5GB) but the performace during the game is really low. I must change Performance mode to MEDIUM ( Infinity actually is the the best Android tablet and I must play in medium level to play without any lags ?? WTF). As the game dedicated for Tegra 3 is really not optimized or Tegra 3 is overrated.

I choose Performance mode in tablet settings. Next time to play. In performace options (in game) I choose maximum and let's go. Everything looks really nice (moving around tavern) until you meet the fist enemy. There is fire, big monster and at this moment I have terrible lags. My "hero" is moving so slowly and there is no any pleasure with playing. When I set performance mode (in game) to medium it looks great. So my question is: Tegra 3 is overrated or game not fully optimized or maybe both...

What is your favorite Game on the TF??

What are you wasting hours playing on your TF?
Hands down, Gun Bros. Great looking game on the TF, runs smooth and the controls are snappy.
I love Robo defense on my Evo but it's just not the same on the TF, even the HD version so it's my phone game of choice.
I'm looking for other tower defense or starcraft style games if anyone has suggestions. Hope to have warcraft one working using aDosbox emulator. =]
Probably a bit too boring for some but I like WordFeud!
Besides, since I don't have much time, WordFeud works really well.
just installes crystal defender. not hd but since I like towe defense game so it's cool. games from hexage.net like radiant hd, robotek hd, etc are also lovely. last but not least I love gameboid emulator, runs almost all popular gba game flawlessly
Definitely Plants vs Zombies HD. Look up the apk on Google. Or Paradise Island. Both are pretty addicting

If your looking for a TD game try out GRave Defense HD, my personal favorite time wasters have been Backbreaker THD, Fruit Ninja THD, and Riptide GP(and yes im apparently a whore to the TegraZone)
Backbreaker THD, Samurai II THD, PVZ

Just purchased battleheat great so far and it has tegrazone graphics... giving you your first thanks.
+1 to Battleheart....great game and well worth the money! I got nervous after doing the manual update to 3.1 and the game ran into issues (loading). Great to see the developer was quick with the update to fix the issue, back to my 6+ hour game.
+1 Paradise Island...was a great game at first now it is starting to become kind of a chore. I have filled up my allotted land and have 3 levels to go until the next section is unlocked for purchase.
Robotek, Brain Cube HD, Plants vs. Zombies HD (even though I have beat it 3x on other platforms), and Nano Panda.
All those game look amazing on a Tablet.
My fav is crazy snowboard. U can even use ur android phone as a controller and the tablet as the game screen.

my fasves are
Wordsmith (great for playing with friends)
Stupid Zombies
Plants Vs Zombies
Zombie Defence
Samurai Vengeance
Apparatus
Spaghetti MArshmallow
X Construct
and Spiderman HD but no now it force closes all the time on 3.1
Dungeon defenders is amazing on the TF. Also pocket legends is pretty cool if you like mmo's
I play the crap out of gun bros...just wish they would update to allow for bros already, it gets rough with just me and the gimpy stock bro thats only good for eating bullets and taking dirt naps.

mini squadron rocks. I played first the lite version but now I have the 2 paid versions.

Could someone describe the control scheme of Battleheart for me?
I've tried games like Gun Bros and Dungeon Defenders but I just can't get over how the analog "sticks" are implemented on a touch screen. A pity b/c those games otherwise look amazing but I can't get over the controls.

No one has said Majesty yet!?
It's a fantastic RTS game, albeit a little basic upon first or second try. Once you really get into it, there's a ton of strategy. Not to mention it looks fantastic on the transformer and is super easy to navigate around and play (functionality-wise.)
Spectral Souls is a full fledged console game (100+ hours of gameplay).

[Q] RPG Games for Honeycomb

Anyone know any good final fantasy type RPGs that work on honeycomb? There is one called Spectral Souls I found in the market but it looks to be in japanese. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have spectral souls, and it's not in japanese:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.hyperdevbox.spectralsouls
Also- Check out BattleHeart. It's much less involved than Final Fantasy, and not turn-based, but it's ton's of fun:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.KelliNoda.Battleheart
I suggest you use various emulators for android to play RPG's such as final fantasy. Also as said before battleheart is a decent one, although imo its not really Final Fantasy like.
Like you I've been keeping my eye out for some good RPG's for Honeycomb and haven't found much yet.
Emulators and some of the older ones are awesome but the emulators don't make use of a touch screen (apart from a emulated d-pad) and its the same problem with Spectal souls... I mean they go so far to get a huge tablet RPG but then don't make it fully touch?! You use emulated buttons to navigate around (apart from turning the camera! WOO!)
Battlehearts is pretty cool but a bit simple - awww can't win with me it seems
Would like souls to make use of a full touch screen (i will buy it then) or waiting for something new to come around.

I've been scouring looking for a nice android rpg but find myself in the same situation.
I'll be experimenting with the ps3 controller hooked up to the dock soon and will likely play psone rpgs that I never got around to playing years ago.
I got about 10 hours of enjoyment from battleheart, it was fun.
There's actually not many games at all optimized for honeycomb, but hopefully soon.
Been itching to try Souls but haven't succumbed to the temptation to drop the money for it.

[GAME]Zen Pinball THD

I had been waiting for this game for months. Just noticed it was released. This game is awesome on the TF. Comes with free table. Game is nearly identical to xbox and ps3 version. Two other tables available for 1.99 each.
Best pinball game for android, Hands Down!!!!
+1. Been rockin it for a couple days.
whats amazing is the amount of graphics this game pushes through the TF procesor...and never hiccups...awesome
This app is bad news. Already bought the two other tables and have been drooling for more. I am worried that I am going to throw my tablet at the wall because I just can't put it down and keep dropping balls. I will get the high score soon. It is that well made.
Well, I wish that the action taskbar would rotate to portrait with the game, instead of staying on the side. Or at least have the option.

If you are using the Revolver ROM, I've found that it's best to just disable the taskbar completely while playing! Revolver ROM has an option to hide the taskbar at any time....
It is an awesome Pinball game, along with Pinball Ride, Pinball HD, Kick-off Pinball, Dino Madness Pinball, Xmas Pinball, etc!
In case you couldn't tell, I'm a big pinball fan!

Since no one really responded with anything back then, I might as well just come back to tell all of you on the fence of getting this, that this game is very well optimized. Good, responsive hardware controls and full-screen resolution for the XP. Plus the soundtrack is awesome! Here's a gameplay vid:

Mame/Neo/Cps Emulators are great but where is the challange. I like and brought these official ports (metal slug too) for 2 reasons. 1) Bluetooth multiplayer 2) a limit on credits. Where is the challange if you can keep shoving fake credits in, it makes these games too easy because you have no real death. Its like cheating and there is no point in that when you are only cheating yourself out of a good game. With metal slug on Emulator i completed in a hour (fun over). On the official port not even half way in and been playing hours worth. At least with emulators like Snes and PSX you have limits as its built in to the game (Saves states are also bad but still mean you have to get past the place your stuck on dying). I am happy to recommend these ports over the emulated way
Original MVS cartridge are 'free play' at will anyway, but you are right about arcade, nothing can beat the 1coin challenge and bt coop option is the best.
My previous bought of metal slug for android was a disapointment, few option, gallery mode, slowness this one seems better optimized. I think save state is a bless to train yourself in the hardest level without crawling again the whole intro + much more freedom to simply save your progress.
My fingers thank autofire as well. I found vsFighters a bit more difficult compare to the arcade because of the controller, xplay paddle is tiny and snk special moves can be tricky.

Any good real time strategy games out there?

Honestly I can't find anything worth playing so far. I'm from the generation of CC generals and red alert, and allot of what I see on the market is really lacking. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It's not a RTC game like cc but as strategic game i ciuld advice you Valor which may downloaded from Amazon app market. It's an online game where you build and conquest cities and you can join with other players in guild (with private in-game forum and messaging). It's very addictive (i play it since 2 years)

I would love some too. I am playing OpenTTD on this though. If you like C&C (I love them) there is a good chance you'll like OpenTTD.
OpenTTD is too complicated for me. At least for a random play.
Problem with most of those kind of games on android is that they depend on in-game purchases.
Or they are really REALLY difficult to play.
I would rather like to pay a bit more for such a game but then be able to play it without the need to buy extra stuff to win.
OpenTTD is very big indeed. Just focus on building a good railway system, since they are by far the best way to improve your economy. I've never actually played ottd on a tablet because I can play in a lot better on my laptop. The controls are very hard on a tablet to be honest.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T
I realize you're asking for RTS, but I'd still recommend a look at Battle for Wesnoth. Not real-time, but it is a fantastic turn-based strategy game a la Fire Emblem. It's a fantasy-themed game, so if you're into elves/dwarves/LotR/etc., then it's probably for you. I have it on my Infinity, but I honestly play it more on my computer (it has cross-platform play, which is pretty awesome). There *should* be a free demo to try out, or just go for the PC version (which is completely free).

Check out Battle Alert, my favorite on Android. Also try War Revenger which has less tactical options, but better graphics. If either of these games lag on your device, set your minimum cpu speed to at least 920. I use PerApp, which lets me set speed (and more) for specific apps, a must-have for gaming on Android imo.
