Hi all.
Anybody been able to connect the N8000 to Samsung Kies? All drivers are installed, the N8000 is recognized as such by Windows, drives are mounted. Latest Kies from Samsng: 2.3.3.12085_7.
BUT: Kies stays on "Connecting..." forever and ever and ever... until it finally gives up and goes back to ask to connect a device.
Anybody experienced the same and found out what to do to fix it?
From memory if any samsung phone or tab that has USB Debugging enabled will do this. Disable it and try again.

Thanks for the hint, well appreciated! USB debugging is off. I had tried with it on, too, as other threads said that's an issue. Both without success.
I sometimes get a message from Kies that it was unable to retrieve device information...

Just click on "Solve connection problems", wait (sometimes for "hours"), restart PC and connect again. Mostly it´s a problem with the drivers when KIES has updated something.
I have this problem with one PC literally every time I connect and with my two Sony laptops never ................

Tried that, too, without success.
However, I finally found what's the problem. For whatever reason, CSC wasn't set, which Kies apparently insists on. Setting CSC rsolved the problem, Kies working fine now
Thanks again to all who helped! :good:

Hi can i know How u set CSC?
Related
Everything was fine till last nite but then I noticed that the phone is not showing in windows explorer nor kies is able to connect. I then restarted the computer but that did not solve the issue. The phone mtp shows connected but comp cpu goes up & remains 90-100% which means some driver is hogging the cpu.
What can be done to solve this issue, reinstalling is going to be a major headache as kies gave me hell lot of a time installing the driver on my win7 x64 system.
Connection choice is set to kies not on ask on connection.
Problem solved.
Took the battery out for few sec & then restarted connected to computer without any problems & now kies too working fine.
Firmware not upgrading through KIES
just wanted to know, were u successful in updating your firmware to 2.3 from the stock 2.2 that it was providing.
I have a 64 bit windows 7 system, and everytime i try updating the firmware through KIES it crashes.
Has anyone faced this issue?

How can i get MTP to work? The device manager is showing an error 10. I tried many solutions but no-one worked. Is there any trick or solution for MTP? I have Sam Galaxy SCL i9003 running TheFrankeinsteinMod 3.8. Thanks

LOL. Are you serious? This isn't the right thread? I thought it is. The thread's name is describing my problem. Teach me, boss!
I apologize, I searched for this but cannot find it anywhere. I cannot get Kies to work on my laptop(windows) with my Skyrocket. All I get is USB device not recognized. I have rebooted, uninstalled, etc no luck. any ideas? your help is appreciated.
When I try to connect via wi-fi computer says
No Sim Card inserted, unable to continue.
But phone says connected

I have the same problem. My Windows 7 Professional doesn't recognize the SR. It saw my Captivate no problem.
Funny thing is, my Macbook Air recognizes the SR and it never recognized the Captivate. This is just bizarre...
My MacBook recognizes it through Kies right away, you shouldn't need drivers for that actually, or for USB mass storage mode
Hi,
had same problem.
I replaced the newest version of "kies" by an older version and it works. My phone is now recognized.
Hmm which older version did u use?
Thank u all btw
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA App
it's 2.0.3.11082_152
Thank you,
Turned out that the USB cable i was using didnt work with the S2 so I switched to stock one and that worked. I then downloaded the older Kies as suggested above, Thank you, and that worked.
I then rooted it and everything is working great.
Thank you all.
Now deciding and researching new ROMs
So, I have been unable to get my Verizon S3 (now on JB) to connect to my PC running Kies over wifi. And I am running with the current version of Kies.
The phone sees the computer OK, and I start the connection, and I get a dialog on the phone that says it is waiting for confirmation.
I look at my computer and I see that it appears to have initiated the connection to the phone, but is just spinning.
I have tried obvious stuff like letting Kies do it's troubleshooting, and turn off my firewall, and other suggestions in their troubleshooting guide.
Still no luck...
Any ideas?

What happens when you uninstall the drivers, reboot the PC, then reinstall the drivers and restart Kies? I don't use Kies so I'm only able to troubleshoot blind. Are also using the OEM usb cable that shipped with the phone?
Hello pisses me off Odin
the drivers are installed
Kies is not installed
I try all the usb port
I try these other usb cable
I tried every version odin
Thank you to solve my problem:laugh:

First uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your phone. Get them from Samsung site just to be safe. also try redownloading odin from a different website, could be a bad download. and 'm assuming you have a good USB cable and good USB Ports.
also what model phone are you using? that's in settings--about device--model number

Hi, I'm kinda having the same problem the original poster is having.
My problem is, my windows 7 computers do not see the phone at all, no matter which cable/USB port I use. No beep, no trying to install drivers, no nothing. I'm assuming that unless windows sees the device to begin with... I won't be able to use kies or Odin or heimdall or adb or anything right?

ok, have you checked device manager to see if the phone shows up there? and you're right if it isn't being detected than you can't use it basically lol. I know sucks.
honestly, download the drivers manually and install them. If you're not sure how to check device manager or find the drivers google is you're friend :good: hope you get it working!

Drago, thanks for trying to help me, can't tell you how much I appreciate it bro. Now when it comes to windows, I'm no noob, I actually own a small business going out to people's houses and fixing their computer/WiFi/printer problems. So device manager, yeah I tried "scanning for new hardware" tried and tried, checked and checked, restarted, tried safe mode, tried using different administrator account, nothing. That's when I got this gut sinking feeling, what if something is wrong with the USB port on the phone.
It's a SM-S820L, galaxy core prime. No sound when I plug it in, nothing shows up in 'my computer', no tuh noon sound, and I remember back when the phone was working like normal, I tried to get a picture or two off of it by plugging it in while it was on, I remember it showed up in windows no problem, even without the drivers from Samsung installed. Now nothing happens, even though it says download mode.
I still need your help Drago, don't forget about me

alright well you have one of 3 issues then honestly.
1. phone USB port like you said
2. the PC/laptop USB or..
3.cable or driver issues.
make sure your completly uninstall the phones drivers in device manager while the phone is plugged into the PC. next unplug the phone, restart, reinstall actuall samsung drivers, than try pluggin in again. use a known working USB port also.
sorry I can't give you an answer that's the best I can think of, let me know how it goes!

You can try redownloading Odin and also running Odin as an administrator, that's been the case one in a while. lastly uninstall and reinstalling drivers could help. If this does'nt do it sorry, I'm all out of ideas.
I have same problem with Odin v4.42 and work with Odin3_v3.04,try different version of Odin.

Have you tried uninstalling all the USB drivers for your device, restarting PC, re-installing drivers then restart PC and then try connecting your device.
When you updated, did you boot to stock recovery and factory reset and wipe cache partition then reboot? Sometimes failing to wipe during update can cause things to not work correctly.

And when you right click on the driver with the yellow triangle and select update driver, it does nothing?
Have you tried manually updating the driver and choosing the option to select from files on your PC instead of the auto-update feature? You can use this method to navigate to the folder that the Samsung drivers are installed in and select them from there, this should load the drivers.

When i try to update it says it is up to date and the manually installing of drivers.
Done with that too
The problem is just with the note 4
I have an s7 edge too and a note 3
They connect without any hassle to my pc

Have you connected to Odin While in download mode and it isn't recognized? Or have you only connected to PC while the phone is running in system and the PC doesn't recognize it?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledg...ice-descriptor-request-failed-for-windows-10/
Follow the steps but don't install the crappy driver easy program.
Here's a video
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hKwRUdfRN2s
There are actually a lot of tricks that can be used to solve the "device descriptor failed/not recognized" error.
A Google search for:
"USB device descriptor failed"
Will give you plenty of tips.

You changed the USB settings as suggested and nothing changes?
You disabled anti-virus before installing the drivers?
You disabled fast startup? (If your PC has this feature)
How USB works on your note 4 versus how it works on your other devices may have slight differences, that would explain why your others connect and the note 4 doesn't.
Have you enabled USB debugging developer options?
99% of the time this is a PC hardware/driver issue, not an issue with the android device in question.
