Anybody else having this problem in jelly bean? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

While playing a game(it could be any demanding game) suddenly the screen stops responding to touch and neither do the capacitive buttons. After several seconds you are able to do anything and then even after you exit the game everything remains a stutter mess until you restart the phone. Does it happen with anyone? Really disappointing when it happens.

no. I played Asphalt 6 and it is ok. But I just play small games now.

It doesnt happen every time for me but "sometimes" and it never happens while playing light games like angry birds.

I only got that twice because the phone probably was out of memory. Don't play high demanding games and you are fine

Ya I suppose heavy games should be avoided now, nexus S does provide a totally smooth smartphone experience otherwise. I dont restart my phone for days now and it all works smoothly, just gaming which can really bring it to it's knees.

Emulations freeze up.

hey everyone i have a lg venice that has a 1ghz processore, thats kinda powerful and should be able to play alot of stuff, but when i installed games onto it such as hungery shark evolution or order and chaos online it would freeze the entire for for around 6-15 sec. same with emulators such as gba or gbc. after awhile i have gotten a little used to it, it has stopped with freezing normal games but for emulators it has gotten worse. even 10 sec it would freeze making it unplayable. i have tried to get a different rom for that game even reinstalling the emulators. i think im just going to have to factory reset it. any ideas?

Vibration messes up accelerometer/gyro?

This is a very strange issue to describe but it happens when playing Cube Runner, and sometimes you can see it on Temple Run 2(Maybe?)
Whenever the phone vibrates when you crash in cube runner, the screen shakes, as if the gyroscope is being shook viciously inside the phone. Also sometimes it will "jitter" when just flying. This doesn't happen on my old Inspire 4G, but of course that phone barely made any vibrate when you crashed, and the Nexus 5 vibrates for half a second.
Is the vibration making the gyro all wonky an issue? I only really see it in Cube Runner, which actually seems to have problems on the N5, because it also sometimes stutters and jitters? and I have played Asphalt 8 Airborne and Riptide GP2 to death since I got my Nexus 5. There is no problems there with the wonky sensor. Is it a phone problem? Game problem?

[Q] Is the S6 overheating with games normal?

I have had my Verizon S6 for a little over two weeks now. In general I like it, but I've noticed it seems to overheat easily. A repeatable scenario is while playing Olaf's Adventures (Don't judge me!) for about 10 minutes I'll get the "Cooling Down" warning. I won't have anything else running in the background. I tends to happen the fastest when I'm playing that and doing multiple things in the game at the same time (have Olaf run around & interact with his world at the same time).
To those of you who have a S6 could you download this free game and see if your phones overheat as well? I'm wondering if it's just my phone, or if all the S6s are that way.
Thanks!
I personally never had the overheat issue while playing graphic intensive games, such as WoT and Modern Combat 5. I think it's the issue with the app, not the phone itself.
Yes it gets really hot after playing for 7-8 minutes . But didn't show any warning . I think it's just an app issue.
I'll check out Modern Combat 5 and WoT and see what happens there. I also noticed it happened with Google Cardboard.
I downloaded and tried Modern Combat 5 and watched the temps with CPUz. It didn't seem to get above 61c, so either it isn't as demanding, or like you said Olaf's Adventures is poorly written. It worries me that Google Cardboard also caused overheating though. Does anyone else have heating issues with Google Cardboard? Again it could be the apps fault. I believe it was some VR theater that caused the overheating.

Gaming problems (phone lagging)

Hi everyone.
Someone else experiencing problems while gaming?
I'm playing Dragon Ball Legends and sometimes the game becomes very very slow.
Tried deleting the game from Game Space, and it seemed worked at first but happened again...
I've set 120hz and 60hz manually also, and the problem persists.
Sometimes going to the home screen and back to the game works but I play online, it's annoying.
I think it's inadmissible for an expensive phone like this to have such issues. It's my first Chinese smartphone, and I'm not so happy with it
i find the GPU is set a little to passive. (slow to ramp up). Works well for battery though not so much for gaming. You can use "Game Space" an pre-installed app to make it run full power all the time. Games run great. Though phone gets hot and battery suffers.
IV been trying to use my PS4 controller via Bluetooth to play COD but it's just really bad lag and after touch movement, it's like after you stop moving or ADS it's like it keeps moving for about half a second very unplayable anyone else come across this?

Dragon Ball Legends works great on mine in any settings. I don't play online matches though. Maybe you just have poor connection?

Hi.
I fixed it turning off the battery saver option at the game settings!
That sh*t was bugging the game performance somehow, instead of helping me lol

Of course battery saving would decrease game performance. I'm glad you found the solution.

Well, I had a S7 edge and the Xperia xz2 before, always playing with the battery saver ON and had no big issues...
Yes the fps was far away from now, but I could play without any problems.
With the Oppo it's impossible to play.
My gaming experience has been less optimal lately, Fortnite is laggy even if I lower the graphics. Maybe the game is not well optimised? I'm on C57. Have you noticed anything like that?

My phone is a japanese model, here's A23 and I have no idea what the equivalent version is abroad lol
But I guess it isn't your phone problem...

random locking while in game?

I'll be in the middle of playing games (any game) and it will go straight to lock screen for seemingly no reason
So far this has only happened a couple times a day not terrible just odd, any thoughts?
