Low System Sounds Volume - Motorola Atrix 2

Is there any way to turn up the volume for the lock screen unlock sound and the selection sound? Everything else on the phone is plenty loud like ringtone, notification tone, call volume, media, etc.... But I can barely hear the screen lock/unlock sound and the selection sound. Also it seems like the haptic feedback is BARELY there. It's so subtle that it may as well NOT be there.

If you do not have the Android SDK installed on your computer you need to install it. Then go to the Windows Start menu and select computer. Then open the Android SDK folder then open the tools folder. When in the tools folder hold shift and right click anywhere it is open space in the window. Select open command window here. When the window opens up connect your device via USB cable (make sure you have USB debugging checked in development in Settings) and then type the following into the command window:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
You will be looking for version-main the number beside it is your firmware version.
(Or)
On your device, press < Home >
Select < System Settings >
Select < About phone >
Look for ‘Android version’ or ‘Firmware version’ to see the exact version your device is running...

Android Version is 2.3.6 I figured out the sound issue. It was some setting that was restoring from an old phone when I would factory reset. But the haptic feedback is still barely there. It's so little, it might as well not be. The vibrate function works fine which I believe is off the same motor?

The haptic feedback on 2.3.6 is much lighter than that of 2.3.5, so that's normal. There's a thread for restoring the haptic feedback of 2.3.5 here (somewhere), I'll see if I can find it...
Edit: Found it:

Have you checked to make sure you have it turned on in Settings/Sounds, down at the bottom Screen lock sounds.

[Q] Notifications go silent on the Skyrocket

Hi all,
I've been a member for a while, but this is my first post in a while.
I recently changed my Motorola Atrix to a Samsung Skyrocket. I love the phone, however I am having a little problem. The Skyrocket will not make noise or vibrate for notifications (such as text, or email, facebook, twitter, etc) but will play ringtone for phonecalls. When I restart the phone, it will work maybe for a day, but after that, it stops working again. Sometimes after receiving a call the notifications will start working again. I've checked the volume settings, and the notifications and ringtone settings, and everything like that... it's all normal. Any suggestions? I've been searching in the forums, and other sites as well, but dont seem to find anything.
The phone is rooted, but that's about it, stock rom. I also did a master reset on the phone as well.
I was using go sms but deleted it and the notifications still go silent.
Any help would be really appreciated!
Thanks!
Hopefully someone here can help ya. I still have not found a solution
Ome thing I never really thought of was trying an Odin restore back to stock...a full clean slate. If that doesn't fix it then definitely a defective phone

That's what I did this morning. So far it's working perfectly, hopefully it will keep working.
Thanks for the reply!
I installed Go SMS again and seems to be working. What I did notice this time around, is that when I was setting up the notifications for the Facebook app, I noticed the option to choose from the Android System ringtones or from Go SMS. Maybe I had it set up to choose ringtones from Go SMS. Seems to be working fine now.
The notification volume and incoming call volume are seperated. The notification sometimes changes somehow idk how. If you want the incoming and notification to be the same download MySettings. The open the app up and click and hold the ringer icon then itll come up with volume settings. Check the box that says use incoming and notification sound together

[Q] No notification vibration

Hi everyone. I installed the Liquid JB ROM last night and so far, it's been good. The only problem I've encountered is that my phone doesn't vibrate when I receive SMS in both sound and vibrate modes. It will vibrate for calls though.
Since vibrate mode is what I'm usually on, I'm hoping it's just a setting I may have missed. Any help?
Thanks!

Open up MMS, hit menu-settings-then scroll down to vibrate, it mostly likely says never. Change that
If that doesnt help check the settings under display and sound.

Vibrate When Plugging In For Charge?

I'm new to Android and I can't seem to find the answer to this question.
When you plug in an iPhone for charging, it vibrates briefly to let you know it's charging?
Is there a similar setting for the Nexus 5? I can't seem to find it in Settings and as I searched Xposed modules and Play Store widgets, none of them seemed to have this exact setting or feature.
When I search the forums here, all I find are people who seem to be suffering from a defect and don't want their phone or tablet vibrating when they're plugged in.
To be clear, I just want a short vibration and a short screen wake when I plug into a micro USB cord for charging. This would confirm to me that the phone is actually charging.
Thanks in advance!

I can't remember if the stock software updated to do this but for example, I'm on SlimKat ROM and I can set to vibrate, play a sound, and wake up the screen. Some ROMs may have other options as well.
I'm not sure if an app would do this but mostly I've always seen it built into the ROM itself.

For SlimKat:
Settings > Display > Wake up on charge
Settings > Sound > Advanced options > (Enable, Vibrate, Notification sound). The sub menu in Advanced options is called "Power Connectivity Alert".

I am using 4.4.2 Kit Kat stock. I don't have the "Wake up on charge" setting under the Display settings.
Under Sound, I do not have "Advanced Options" under Sound.
Thank you for helping. I'm relatively new to Android; I'm not to the point where I'm considering flashing modified ROMs onto my Nexus 5 yet. I like that I'm able to root stock Android relatively easily and use the latest version of Android essentially when it becomes available. It's something I took for granted using iOS. It's nice to be able to go to the latest and greatest on the Nexus 5 essentially as soon as it's out.
Is there another way to do what I want to do without installing SlimKat?

It is possible to do it without SlimKat but I'm not sure. Stock Android is rather lousy even with root. Custom ROM's are the only way to go with the exception of losing proprietary features. So you won't have the options I've told you, it would be on SlimKat ROM. I recommend you read sticky threads on XDA to beef up your knowledge. You may also want to search the Play Store and see if apps are available to do these functions until you decide you wish to use custom ROMs.

I set it to vibrate most of time as I'm in meetings most days and coming from iOS, I'm not in the habit of switching the volume back up when I'm done. When set to silent, the iPhone vibrates when I plug it in to charge. That's the functionality I'm looking for really as I try to sneak a charge whenever I can, i.e. in the car, etc. It's nice to get the confirmation vibrate that it's charging without having to turn the volume back up.
Maybe it's not possible on stock or a widget or via Xposed. Just wondered if someone knew if I could get that functionality on stock but rooted Android.
Thanks!

II guess you could just change the build.prop to make it do this.
Also I just realised it only chimes when placed on a wireless charger lol.

There's an Xposed module that will let you get a lot more granular if you're WIRELESS charging,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2587431
LOL, but nothing it seems, for basic Micro USB cable chargers.
Have you seen my mobile app which does exactly the same.

Amy feedback is welcome. If you dont happen to like the app, I will be happy to refund

[Q] system volume help

it seems like my touch sounds have gotten a lot softer on my note edge lately. I checked my volume settings and all of them are maxed out. does anyone else have this problem, or is there an app that increases touch volume? I've downloaded a few volume booster apps but none of them seem to work

I'm not intending this to be snide... but, have you rebooted the phone? I get weird issues like this on occasion only to have a reboot or on the really rare side, a restore, fix it.

If you reboot only, you won't lose anything. To reboot, press and hold the power button until the Phone Options menu appears and choose Restart. If you want to save text messages, it depends on your app, but for the default messaging app, you can go to the Messaging App home, select the menu, and choose to save messages. I think it only saves standard SMS messages but they do go to your MicroSD if you have one inserted.
If you chose a system wipe, then yes, you would lose everything, so don't go that route! Just go with the restart.

I have a very similar issue, my volume is acting up or down should I say. Every time I get a norification, phone rings, or play music or videos the volume sounds normal for 2 seconds and automatically goes WAY down to almost zero. All levels are at max, have downloaded 3rd party volume controls, have booted in "safe" mode, and still no luck. But when I have the ear piece volume is fine, during a call the speaker is fine. Any ideas guys?
