Ummm you know its been on back order from tmobile customer loyalty since early December right? That usually means its kinda popular.
Samsung has been outselling apple... I doh?

You must not watch TV. All three versions are all over the TV. Maybe you live under a rock!

This is terrible advice. Don't buy something that isn't popular? Really? If I had gone by that rule I'd never have bought my HD2 or my Evo View & I'd have missed out on two excellent devices. Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's the best.
Here's some advice that everyone can follow- do your research, go to the store & play with different devices, and buy whichever one you like best.

A while ago Engadget had an article on the best smartphones for the four major carriers and used this for the cover. It's definitely popular..

Well, I don't think thats a good advice, my advice is before buying a phone like the galaxy s2, look for issues about it in the internet and try it out before you buy it.
I regret saying that Engadget's article about the screen issue wasn't that noticeable and they had it on a really dark place etc. Now i'm noticing that every darn day.

Cause the average consumer is dumber than dog ****.
Windows mobile is a slow and laggy phones. Phones should be released so they don't need to be hacked. It should be because the owner wants to. That's my opinion on it

You know this is one of the most selling phones in the world right.... Right? Samsung has put millions in marketing and made a version for every major American carrier and is attempting to sell more than the original.... You are aware of that right? So you started this thread to be flamed.... Correct?

This guy hasn't responded to a single post in his own thread. Obviously just trying to light a fire in the forum. CLOSE!
This has to be the best phone I've ever owned. I just upgraded from the sensation and it doesn't compare this phone is a monster. Don't need to root either after the update

If you have not purchased one yet. I would suggest the GNEX. It has exceeded my expectations and ICS OS is pretty nice.
I would agree Nexii are amazing devices. But when I choose a device I take a look here on XDA, see what the development community is like and then i will get it
I really liked the keyboard on my old LG. Specs don't seem that spread apart. Any opinions? I'm Also getting $65 cash.

for me its a terrible choice...but hey, if you put a physical keyboard in front of having the best android phone on the market, then sure, why not. I guess its a personal choice over specs
im not a fan of the glide.
Is LTE important to you?
No i don't get LTE

There's no substitute for a physical keyboard. Period. You're going to type better on the Glide, and that's a basic usability factor.
I was pretty much sold on the Glide myself, but I jumped to the Skyrocket because it was very important to me to get a phone that was more future proof, given my last experience, and the Glide is not, and (I'm speculating) will probably not get Ice Cream Sandwich. That's a big deal to me.
HOWEVER, if I was the kind of guy who bought a new phone every year and wasn't planning to be stuck with it for two years, I would have gotten the Glide. It's absolutely a good phone.
Honestly, that seems like a terrible trade and your getting ripped off. If you really really wanted to do that, your better off selling it for straight cash and buying one cheap from Ebay, Craigslist.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
If i sell it the most I'd get is around 360-80 which is the average price of the glide on eBay
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Whatever phone you like to use and feel most comfortable with is the one you should get. Don't have a phone you don't like just because other people think it's better.

im sorry but i totally disagree...luckly, the human brain adapts quite well. ive had a gs2 for 6 months and i can type better and faster than you on your glide and even better and faster than most on a computer. you get used to it very fast, at least i did
Well for emulators the physical keyboard will be best. I think I'm gonna give it a go. They have roms too plus i can get my taste of ICS with my galaxy gab 10.1 with CM9
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
The Skyrocket has great rom support. I have one and completly love it. It all comes down to personal preference though. I came from a phone with a slide qwerty and I always said I would never get a phone that did't have one. Well I got my skyrocket and guess what... I got used to not have a physical keyboard.

There's a lot to be said for no-look typing (and the improved accuracy that comes with it), which is virtually impossible with a touchscreen and effortless with a physical keyboard. Also, things like switching to extended characters always slow me down on a touch screen, but don't on a physical keyboard.
The Skyrocket is certainly the better piece of hardware, quite a bit faster, larger/better screen and obviously much slimmer. But the Glide's still a dual core phone with a Super AMOLED screen, and for many users it's not the kind of thing that would be a big sacrifice to get that keyboard.
As title states I want an s3. I have a near new white iPhone 4s 64gb already jail broken that I will trade (cash on top if needbe) for your s3 that isn't bricked or broken physically. iPhone haters please don't troll, someone might want to take up the offer. Thanks
Wrong section, not trolling but you might have better luck in the market place threads.

That offer is like saying I'll trade my Corvette for your Malibu. This is an Android forum after all and although an Apple fanboy may think the iPhone 4S is something special anyone here realizes it's an over hyped, tiny screen, outdated, joke of a smartphone...The S3 is 10 times the phone the 4S is! Good luck!!
I will not flame you or anything but id suggest trying a site like craigslist in order to get a trade. Its kind of hard to trade an Iphone on an android site you know?
Hahahahahahahah
I'm sure someone will love to trade you an S3 for an iphone 4S on xda-developers:good:. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/good.gif

Not to mention its XDA. All I used to see was douches all over these forums. The guy who said "Hurp durpy shouldn't be here", ok still no need to just talk **** at the guy. First of all its just a phone, their not important whatsoever. Just because we are Android users doesn't mean we go on hating every Iphone user. Their are some that *gasp* are not fanboys of their crappy products.
I'll do it pm me. The gs3 is a little laggy for my taste and the ui is very cluttered and cartoonish. I prefer the smootheness of iOS and perfect synchronization across products. Also this phone feels way too cheap, like its a toy. Screen is really nice though, but then again so is the iPhones but just a little smaller.

Love this phone, ppl say it's a cheap build cuz it's plastic,I put a case on it and feels so good.I've had many phones, this is by far my favorite phone.only complaint is bad radio signal in weak spots....everything else is kosher.this is my first Samsung galaxy phone.sorry just felt like sharing.

agreed! I have owned devices from every current manufacturer and samsung is my favorite! people argue, whats the point of having a device with a weaker radio? my response is better battery life. then i also follow up and say, whats the point of having a wireless device if its constantly connected to a charger?? I have yet to hear a good reply on that lol.
I agree, I love it. I have had 3 HTC phones and, while they seem more "solid", they didn't seem to be of any better quality. To me "solid" = heavier and my Rezound is a beast, hence why my GF now has it. She can carry it around in a big purse, lol
Besides Samsung is more fun to play with...
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Yeah I agree. I never felt that my gs3 felt cheap. Yes, its made of plastic, but I would much prefer a lighter phone made of plastic to a heavier phone made of anything. the iPhone 5s: now made completely out of Tungsten Carbide. Nonsense. It's a phone.
I love my GS3. Build quality is OK, I like HTC for quality a little better though.

I know I saw an article about this and I don't know it anyone else has recently but it discussed the possibilities of manufacturers letting customers build their own device kind of how computer manufacturers do now.
I think this would be a really cool idea. I would love to just build a phone the way I want it but of course I would just throw together a phone with all the best specs
Realistically I doubt this would ever happen. It would take away control from carrier's and also manufacturers. They love having customers in the palm of their hands begging for a new device just 2-3 months after paying full retail for the one they currently own.
Just imagine how much that would change the cell phone industry?
Any input

That would be a neat idea but the cost would be ridiculous. I would not be opposed to having more options though.

Alienware is overpriced and overrated, much like apple(sorry I had to) the best way to build is just buy the parts yourself off of new egg or something similar. You will always pay less this way.

I agree, I've built every computer I've used for the last 15 years. I just like the aesthetic quality of Alienware's products and thought it would be nifty if they would put those design aspects towards a phone chassis and UI.
If I had the money.. I'd do it. Question then would be how to like your phone without it infringing on another.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I think that would make developing ROMs and kernels for phones nearly impossible with there being such a huge variety in hardware. It would be really cool for sure, but I believe development would pretty much die.

Yea, then you could pay twice the price of the worth of the machine so you can get a little alien head graphic on it.:good:
I imagine there would be some some similarity due to the standards that would have to be put in place based on mobo size, case size, how everything fits together.... I'd still totally do it. Ive already heavily enjoyed building computers. Would give a nice sense of control over a device that can so easily erode privacy.
