What class is the sd card that comes with our phone? - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Is it a class 10? How can I check?

Well idk but for sure it's definitely not a class 10. Maybe a class 4 or 6 at the greatest.

Class 4. Its right on the card.
Did you even try looking at the card before posting?

I am sure it is that but i also think we would have to have the bootloader unlocked to do that too. A better idea would be to just get a bigger microSD card. I am sure a 32 gb class 10 card would be more than enough to hold music and photos.

4GB internal storage for user apps is a big waste.

Class 10 sometimes won't play nice with these phones. The sweet spot is class 6. And yea, maybe someday we will be able to use it but I doubt it. That would mean that after the bootloader is unlocked (if ever) that devs would need to take on the project and many people are already leaving this phone behind.

Samsung 32gb Class 10 $35!

As the title says, Fry's Electronics has a Samsung 32gb class 10 micro sdhc card for $35 right now!
I don't know how long they'll have 'em for so I suggest you head to your local Fry's asap if you're interested in picking one up. Maybe call in advanced to see if they're in stock.

Big games and use the phone as a music player
Thanks for the heads up, OP!
I picked up two yesterday; one for my mom and one for me. I'll defiintely make a habit of keeping more music on my phone or even pictures. My 16 GB was so full that I had to take all of my pictures off of my card.

Not really, its the way computers read numbers. Binary, so to the phone 1024 MB = 1 GB. To us humans, 1000 MB = 1 GB.

If he's able to do the labor then he should just find out for himself by doing it. It's not meant to be exchanged or upgradable, but if he thinks he has compatible phone ram off another phone then he should try and be done with it.

If this can be done maybe we can double the screen too ... I wouldn't mind having a larger screen!
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
That'd be sweet. But as far as labor, you need soldering wire and micro soldering tip with high power magnifier so you can see all the contact points. This process is known as microman, micro management. Kind of a pain. As far as hw goes, I'm sure there is a chip set somewhere you can use. Might have to rewrite code for it to function as max spec and to even allow the programs to run.
I have the a broken Motorola atrix and access to a iomega soldering tech I would like to thank those that helped ill try and let you know

I'm not 100% sure but...
Get some fast class 10 micro SD from Samsung (Their SD are blazing fast)
And download Swapper2, or any swapping app from the market...
Note: Slow SD WILL result in a slower performance

^ Don't get some cheap arse 1 dollar store SD card and use swap... Those will slow your device to a snail pace.
Just curious... How are you planning to reprogram the micro controller to access the new address space???
