soft-bricked Nexus S trying to root

Hi guys,
Tried following the directions to root my Nexus S (at&t & 2.3.4) by following this guide:

I have the same problem as the poster on this page, I am stuck at the Google splash screen when booting. Someone responded to him, but I find the answer unhelpful. Can someone please help? Thanks.

I understand your having a problem and the best place to post questions is in Q&A section. You'll find the thread you started in the wrong section will get bombed hard. I would appologize and repost in Q&A... JMHO

It is correct that you have not flashed a custom recovery and have not set up fastboot or adb yet?

This is the development section....you should go to Q&A forum...at least you could have tried the Ace Hack Kit thread about it....

The best way to root is to use the hack kit because its flawless in execution. And all other methods have a higher chance of failing. So use the ace hack kit and use VM or boot camp to load windows and do it from there. Other wise go to a school or other windows computer and execute.
And please remember to post in the right section from now on. Otherwise it'll be an all out attack.

Just pack up the phone, send it back, and get an iPhone. Or you could start to follow the rules of xda.

Grumpy? no we aren't grumpy, it gets annoying when people either
A. Don't look or search before posting
B. Create a thread in the wrong section (ESPECIALLY the dev section)
This guy did both so hes gonna obviously get flamed by people who get angry about it. Guess you don't know the rules of the forum at all.

How to unlock inspire 4g to work on GSM ?
Maybe it is an old question,but this must be posted in order to know the newest ROM-Radio-Stock can be downloaded.
The answer must be simple and clear.
If anybody can help in this thread ,he must give the steps to unlock the inspire 4g and from where we can download the best ROMs.

I am new

Is there an all in one, 1 click root for the Asus tf300t? I just got it and did an ota. it now reads jroo3 c.u-epad-10.4.2.12-20121122. I bricked my touchpad and do not want the same fate for this

Hmm root is not hard I guess you are already on jb so you like me will need an unlocked bootloader which can be done from Asus website. Then just root there is a tutorial in the tablets general forum.

1. Rules for posting in this forum
2. Rooting your phone after updating to JB
3. All tools, firmwares, ROMs and guides in this thread.
As per the general consensus there is no 1-click root for JellyBean firmware. Only way to root is to unlock the bootloader.

Thank you for your polite response. This is not as easy as rooting my T999. Hope I get the hang of this before I return it
When I tried to install the root, I got a green android with a red triangle....

Would you be so kind to remove this thread and pose your question at the right place? You have more chances of getting the right answers and this public space stays organised

In order to root first you need to unlock your tablet. Beware, this will void your warranty as Asus registers the serial no of the device while unlocking and there is no workaround.
If you are okay with the above, you unlock the tab. The unlock app is in Asus website under downloads.
After unlock flash a custom recovery (most prefer TWRP).
Then from custom recovery flash the insecure superuser I.e. su files.
This is how most people here do it. Others may correct if I have misled OP.
The green Android in red triangle means it could not flash the update file.
In case of OTA the green Android will have spinning animation indicating the flash.
Please see the videos posted in the development section (sticky) before proceeding.
This tablet is a lot different from other Android devices, read up before messing up.

That's not how it works
Custom Roms and Custom Recoveries are built by people who own the device

Yes. I don't What causes it. It crashes every single time i scroll. I can't use my poweramp app. Can you offer some help? Emailed the devs but no reply.
