I just flashed a kernel that includes the 'fast charge' function. When this is turned on and I receive and intent with action = 'ACTION_BATTERY_CHANGED' the value of the intent extra 'EXTRA_PLUGGED' is always 1 when plugged in. If I turn off 'fast charge' I see the value set to 2 when plugged into computer, indicating USB instead of AC Power. Is this how fast charge works, just pretending to always be plugged into AC Power or would this be a bug in the kernel implementation of fast charge?

Any way to have the Touch Pro operate on external power only when plugged in, leaving the battery alone if I have it set to not charge when connected to a computer?
Sometimes I hook my phone up and turn off the charging feature because I don't need it to be charging. It would be nice if it would run off the external source in those instances so that the battery does not continue to drain while the screen is active or I'm messing with the phone.
you might be able to pull the battery out.... but i don't know why you wouldn't just set it to charge? Its not going to kill your battery to do so and you will have more power later.
I CAN NOT charge my smartphone Charge only off or
Bootloader is the way it recognizes correctly when connecting and disconnecting the usb cable
Android System Started
On with the USB Cable: Indicates the battery icon as charging but in the state of the phone "indicates you are not ****ting", so disconnect and disconnect the cable does not recognize
On without the USB Cable: Does not recognize anything, neither connect nor disconnect
Loading with the Off: load very slow; By moment turns on and off the screen and shows the logo and then the percentage of battery
same problem but solved finally
Switch off your phone/ let the battery drained to null(recommended)
Try to start your phone at 0% to drain battery.
Screen will show 0% or plug icon.
Then connect charger then , then switch on plug of charger.
After few minutes screen will show battery at 3%.
Let it charged without disturbing, it may take more time.
In my case it take 1-2 days to fully charged.
After fully charged, notification light will show on speaker, then disconnect charger and turn your phone on.
Hope this will solve your problem.
If not repeat same procedure.
***Never turn your phone on/restart while charging it may create the same problem***
If the problem not solved, uninstall or disable "charging related noise problem" system app.
Problem solved
After trying to solve the problem by placing different ROMs and until flashing the Firmware the solution was the following
As the only way to properly load the phone was by bootloader mode; Leave charging the phone that way about 5 hours lego ignited the equipment even charging and that way began normal operation the equipment
Is there a way to automatically switch fast cable charging on/off at a specific time in S7?
My tablet seems to have a weird behavior.
I just installed KatKiss 6.0.1 and it works perfectly but this weird behavior still continue:
When I plug the tablet only (no Dock attached) on the wall outlet the screen turns off directly. I can try to use the button on the side as many times as I want, it does not come back to life. The screen only comes back when I unplug it.
If I hit the sleep (or power) button without charging it, it comes off and on: normal behavior.
If I put the tablet in sleep mode, then plug it into the wall, once again it becomes impossible to wake it up, the screen stays off.
With the USB cable plugged into the computer no problem to go back and forth in sleep mode: normal behavior.
With the dock/keyboard attached and charging it to the wall outlet (this time the plug goes into the dock itself), it comes off and on: normal behavior.
Tests already made:
- Battery saver is off
- In Developer Options I tried the "Stay Awake" option, no effect. As soon as I plug it, the screen turns off anyway, and impossible to turn it on without unplug it
Any Ideas?
Today's tests:
- When I set up for example a lockscreen with a pin number:
I plug the tablet to the wall outlet, the screen goes off, then I hit the power button, the lockscreen comes back, I enter the pin, and just when the TF700 opens, it goes off again... and it's impossible to turn it one again, except by removing the outlet plug connector
- I removed the plug from the wall outlet and just insert the connector inside, it turns off! So even if the charger is not connected to the wall, the connector is sufficient to create this annoying bug... I don't understand why it does not happen with the USB one...
I have an old CUBOT P20 "chinaphone" with Android 8.0 that I want to use as an IP camera and I need it to stay always on.
I have removed the battery and attached the usb power supply directly to the battery terminals and it works fine.
But to my surprise when I turn on the phone, the battery percentage begins to drop and when it reaches zero it shuts down like it does when the battery get low.
How could it be possible? there is NO battery, it's just my usb power supply connected at the battery terminals!
The power supply has plenty of amps (it's not a charger) and it seems that Android has a built in "countdown" that starts regardless of the battery capacity and shuts the phone off.
If I disconnect and reconnect the power supply and then turn on the phone the percentage of the "battery" starts again from 100% and then begins to drop. This is extremely annoying because I need to leave the phone always on without interruptions.
Is there a way to disable this android function?
