Are you rooted? If so flash a different radio or else go to the store they can fix. There is nothing you can do without root.

I have the same problem.
It all started when I tried to flash a new JB ROM. I tried Paranoid, XenonHD, JellyBean and none of them were able to connect to my cellular network. Before that I used AOKP and when they released their JB build 1 I tried flashing it as usual with a factory reset and then flash ROM. But I still couldn't connect to my cellular network. I then tried to flash build 1 over my restored nandroid and this time I could connect. It was just like there was some important file that the factory reset removed.
Today I'm running Codename 3.4.0 that I flashed over the JB build from AOKP and I can connect and use the phone but at the same time I feel that the phone is not as responsive and so forth, not because of JB but more because of this flashing over and over again.
I have thought about going back to stock and start over but I'm not sure that would solve it, or at least that is more work then trying to fix this in any other way. (I presume)
Just recently I tried to install the latest Codename (3.5.0) and as usual I did a factory reset and wiped Dalvik, then flashed ROM and GApps but could not connect to cellular. I then tried to flash radio from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884 both the KF1 and KI1 but still doesn't work.
All this time I can unlock my SIM when the phone starts and I can search for cellular network but trying to connect just gives me an error code stating that I can not connect and that I should try again later.

How to know what baseband is compatible with MIUI rom? I have tried to install MIUI roms, but internet not working. MIUI baseband version is similar to stock 2.3.3 baseband. Maybe updating baseband to compatible with MIUI is help?
It should work right away. Have you tried doing a hard reboot by holding volume up and power button while your phone is on?
Or try putting it go airplane mode, reboot, then take off airplane mode.

Yes I`ve tried hard reboot and airplane mode. Nothing changes.
You might need to add your pan. Not sure on how to do it for different carriers though.

If you had the wrong baseband you wouldn't have service at all, not just data.
If your APN is fine, try removing the battery while the phone is on, then the SIM card, wait about 20 seconds, then put them back in and turn your phone on. Flashing custom roms sometimes messes up your network, and the above procedure worked for me.

Get their carrier info and when you go in apn setting select tmobile and edit that info there.
I really searched everywhere for like two weeks, and didn't find an answer.
I tried both, CM9 and CM10 on my Galaxy tab 2 7"(P3100), with not inserting the 3G SIM card and wifi works smoothly.
but as soon as I insert the SIM, I can't find wifi networks anymore.
I reverted back to the Stock ROM, but since I really love CyanogenMod, which I had on my last five devices, I would really appreciate any help.

I've never have this problems on my P3100 with Cm10
If you want to try, install CM10 with the simcard inserted
I tried both installing the ROM before and after inserting the SIM card, when I install it before, wifi remains working until I insert it, and if I install it with after inserting the SIM, it boots the first time without wifi.
So, I'm guessing it's something related to my carrier or network.
EDIT: my Mobile network shows : HSDPA:9

I use the sim connection rarely (always Wi-fi)
I'm in 2G mode for battery save and no mobile data, so i'm in GPRS:1
This is the type of the network which is connected now.
But it's impossibile it's the carrier! This tablet has a network module same as the other smartphone in commerce.
Have you try to use another tipe of speed connection like HSUPA, HSPA, UMTS?
Or you can simply put 2G mode and use the wi-fi connection so you save battery and use 2G only for message/call and, when you want, you can turn off wi-fi and use 3G mode for the mobile data (UMTS, HSPA, HSDPA, HSUPA) automatically which is the preferred in your location.
It turned out, that it's all about my carrier. There is some kind of check performed be the wifi module, and when it finds out that your from certain countries, it disables wifi. And that can be solved by changing the Wifi country code in Secure system settings, or by using this :

Try odin 1.85
Install kies for drivers
Reboot after installing kies
Put tab into download mode volume down+power
Connect tab to pc from read of case not front usb ports
See if tab known by odin ( yellow bar+com number)
Download correct firmware for your tab try www.samfirmware.com
Browse for tar file or tar.md5 in pda area of odin
Click start and wait till pass and green bar

I recently decided to flash a jeallybean ROM since most of them are getting really great and we don't have any word on the official update. Unfortunatly, I'm now unable to get a data connection on my HOX. It's the rogers version which I unlocked and I'm now using on the Bell network. Before flashing, LTE worked fine with the stock sense ROM, but now I don't have any data at all.
ROMs I've tried :
AOKP, MIUI and CM10.
I've tried to : set the data connection to GSM only, nothing, to LTE only, nothing, to WCDMA only, nothing. I've tried all the APNs I've found (pda.bell.ca, pda2.bell.ca, inet.bell.ca). On AOKP it sometimes said "Error while searching for network". WiFi, texts and calls work fine.
If anyone could help me, it would be really appreaciated. Otherwise I'll just revert to Rogers ROM. Thanks alot!
I cant offer any help, but I'm having a similar issue recently. I was on a nightly build of CM10 (from 10/06/12 I believe). I upgraded to a newer build (from 10/10) and I get no data over cell. I flashed it back and things were fine.

Before flashing jelly bean roms you need to flash a sense rom then do full wipe and install cm10 or aokp..

Every device has its own nuances, as do various ROMs. So I'd advise posting this in the forum specific to your device.
Still no data connection.
I am having the same issue with my AT&T One X phone.
The phone was running 2.20 before it was unlocked/rooted. Installed TWRP, was a noob and forgot to save a backup, fastbooted the boot.img, flashed AOKP and CM10 successfully. With both of these ROMs, I could not get internet to work via cellular connection. I have tried everything with the APNs (even had AT&T help me setup APN settings) and still no mobile data connection. I can still receive/send SMS/calls, use bluetooth and wifi, just no mobile internet.
I'm not entirely sure what to do next. I attempted to go back and flash the UrDroid 4.1 Stock Sense ROM, but after fastbooting it's boot.img and attempting to flash with TWRP, I got a signature verification failure. Got scared and restored back to AOKP (I remember to make a backup this time.)
Thoughts? Sorry for being a noob.

I am in a "4G" area (HSPA+) but I am also a hour drive away from LTE. I have tried APNs for both, but AT&T recommended I stick to the LTE APN. AT&T had me go to Settings->More->Mobile Networks->Network Operators and the phone just sat there searching without finding anything. I just did that above operation again and it found AT&T and I selected it. It spins on "Registering on AT&T..." for a few minutes and eventually errors out "Cannot register on this network at this time."
Have you tried switching off LTE by selecting "GSM/WCDMA Auto" in Settings?
I've had data problems on certain ROMs, where turning off LTE got the HSPA+ connection working.
In that case, it was probably a base of build.prop not playing well with AT&T's network. Although I would think the ROMs you mentioned would have these issues worked out at this point (and for some time now).

When I switch to "GSM/WCDMA Auto", it immediately switches itself back to the LTE setting. This is concerning.
I then flashed other modems, versions of CM10.1 and no luck. I odin'd back to stock 4.1.1 and I am still disconnected to the mobile network. What do I do

I am also having the same problem I went from MOAR rom to CM 10.1 and my phone says roaming. I try to call and it tells me to call Verizon. SO I went back to MOAR rom and I still have the same problem

Same issue here. Had to restore to previous.
Check Q&A and Dev threads.
The .1 breaks data. Either go back to release, RC5 or go to Nightlies.
I went to nightlies and i'm working fine now. (and get the new features)
My problem is I flashed back to stock via odin and I still have no data, at all. It's roaming...Will attempt to reflash tonight.
Alright I'm on the latest OTA build, MF1 I believe, still roaming only. Where should I go from here, what should I flash to hopefully get rid of this. *228 doesn't work. *2767*3855# says my phone is not authorized to make this call, etc...I'm stuck.
Nevermind, I did a full reset and have all my data back. I'm on the latest OTA, can I root, unlock, and proceed as normal from this build?

Yesterday, the phone started to not want to connect to the internet (mobile data not WiFi) so I found this curious and rebooted the phone and tried re-downloading internet settings but nothing fixed it. I factory reset the ROM (not the phone) but now I couldn't even make calls/texts as the phone was stating 'Emergency Calls Only' and after going through the phones first boot setup, a window popped up saying the phone could not connect to the SIM. In the end, I changed roms (running Doomsday ROM at the time of the error's start) but still the same issue. Tried CM, same issue. Now on stock JB and the problem still consists. I can't really afford a new phone at the current time and my Z1 is being borrowed by my dad. Any help would be much appreciated.
