Acer Recovery Installer - Acer Iconia A700 and A510

Has anyone used that Acer Recovery Installer that is in the play store? Is there even a point to using it now that we have cwm? I'm just curious to see if it is useful to anyone.

I guess it only support for A50x n A10x.

no, it supports A51x too, but with an old recovery which might be dangerous (except if it was updated recently)

I suggest just using NoThrill's recovery.

[Q] Installing CWR Touch?

I currently have an older version of CWR Touch on my tf, but I'd like to update to the latest. I believe I got the current one on there by flashing a custom file someone put together. I haven't been able to find one for 5.8.2.1 and I can't for the life of me get the fastboot method to work. Is there something I'm missing, or does someone know where I can find a flashable version? Thanks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446019 I recommend rouge, it's not the latest but functionality wise imo its the best. Has NvFlash version and cwm version.

I know that's an option, but it's become something that I need to accomplish now. I know I'm supposed to be able to do, so I want to be able to do it. There's a very real possibility that I flash rouge over it after, but I want to at least win the battle of getting the latest CWR on there first.
Even better would be if TWRP would get ported to our TF101, the TF201 and TF300 have support, but not our OG.
Yeah, if you have CWM touch you have afaik the Latest version available for the TF. Rouge was the last updated, if you need help flashing a new recovery though just get whatever recovery.blob or image you want and I'll walk you through the commands.
Yea.. Rogue XM Touch Recovery v1.5.0-R1 (CWM v5.0.2.8) is good since it support both SD and microSD when installing zip files..

[Q] Is there a new version of ClockWork Mod Reccovery for Desire C?

I've been searching for a newer version of CWM Recovery for my Desire C phone. Anyone seen an updated version? Also, does CWM Recovery has to be custom built for a device or other versions would also work?

Best way to find out about new versions is to visit their site here http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
Oh and FYI, is not wise to use other recoveries made specifically for a certain device on other devices........this is an easy way to end up bricking your device (soft or hard)

Aroma is a dev tool allowing a graphical user interface for users installing custom roms. It is customized by a dev to allow users the ability to add/change/modify rom features and settings. For our device there are 3 roms installed through aroma though only 2 give us the option to perform a wipe android revolution hd by mike1986 and omega by indie when running the script from your recovery it launches aroma installer and both of the mentioned roms give you the option of wiping your device before continuing with setup. Be careful of which recovery you use, most users agree the newer cwm recoveries dont like aroma and freeze on some screens. Not a huge deal as this just requires a reboot which will bring you back to cwm. The original high on android from the android dev how to root guide by zedomax seems to work well and from personal experience i can tell you twrp works as well. Hope this helps

First off, I have the N8013, not sure what you have. I found your post because i couldn't figure out what this damn aroma thing everyone is talking about is. so thanks for your response on that.
But i have a question, what version on TWRP are/were you using? Did you just install it from goomanager or rommanager(clockwork) or did you have to flash from odin?
I'm not excited about using this high on android recovery, so when you said you used twrp i figured i would ask.
Best recovery is:

Some RECOVERY had problems with aroma instaler. I tried a lot of them CWM, TRW etc. but only one of them have no problem when I instaling something where was the aroma been. This Recovery is in my signature. Here : HighOnAndroid Recovery
Even KitKat custom ROMs I flashed without problem.
It's my opinion only, but I'm very satisfied with it! Peter

[Q] CWM backups and TWRP

This may sound stupid, but will CWM backup work via TWRP? I have stock ROM backed up on CWM, and I wanna switch to TWRP. Similar threads seem to imply that it's a no, but these date to over a year ago even - has anything changed?
Also, CWM site allows you to download .img for CWM Touch - wasn't it paid after buying ROM Manager premium? Can I flash it regardless and update it from the site, every time there's an update? (since Touch is supposedly paid and I don't know if the Manager will allow me to push the update, when available)
Last I checked...No
EDIT: our signatures look similar. What a coincidence. lol
They can't restore each other's backups. Only Philz can restore both
You can (and should) use touch without rom manager

U can give a try TWRP :thumbup::thumbup:
Send My Signature phone to XDA with my Bad grammars..
TWRP is a much better recovery IMHO. It's much more user friendly than CWM.

TWRP vs Philz CWM

I've been reading through tons of posts trying to figure out which recovery works best for flashing zips and/or installing OTA updates. I'd like to get a thread going so that it's more clear which recovery ROM is recommended and why. I've been using TWRP but find the touch to be spotty at BEST, also I got my phone into a bootloop after installing the 174.44.1 OTA update and it seemed like a lot of ppl that had no issues were using Philz CWM. So anyway, please post opinions!
I have the same query.

Have also been reading a lot about those recoveries.
I started with CWM because I had good experience with it on my Acer S120.
Recently (yesterday to be precisely) I changed to Philz CWM after I had to do a reflash of the whole system.
I decided for Philz because of the buggy touch functions from TWRP I read about.
So far I'm pleased with Philz CWM.
Can you link to where you obtained Philz CWM and which version are you using. I have just installed TWRP v2.6.3.0 and it seems fine (I couldn't find v2.6.3.2 which I think is the latest ver).
i had philz cwrm and when i did "restore default" for resetting settings original from menu settings, didn't work. it is a bug and for me, that want a phone complete working, this is important. most users use wipe from recovery but i want that function!!!
now i have v2.6.3.2 twrp and all is workind, even touch slide that before (until 2.6.3.0) was bugged.
same issue of philz recovery for my ex phone htc desire 500.... is philz that insert something error for restoring and even i asked many forum, noone know solution and many users don't know because don't try (or don't want try)
I use twrp with no issues at all (pretty sure the touch bug was fixed a while ago). But then I've also heard that Phil's cwm is brilliant, so I guess it's just down to personal preference?

Can someone point me to the correct twrp 2.6.3.2 for moto g please. The one I found installed but says its 2.6.3.0 although its working fine.

I read somewhere that it was a typo. Mine says 2.6.3.0 after the install of 2.6.3.2. And yes its running fine, no bugs that I can see.
@slamor. OK, thanks yes its very responsive and seems to be perfect, the date is now correct too. Just that niggling v2.6.3.0 that shows up. I am reluctant to try Philz CWM only because I have several backups that I want to hang onto. Maybe Philz CWM uses the same backup/restore format? But right now it ain't broken, so no need to fix it!

I dont know about that. From past experience I could Never use CWM backups on TWRP and vice versa.
Think about it as ...working.
