[Q] Learning Hub - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Was watching a video on YouTube of the learning hub app and was wandering if anyone had heard if it would be included in the American version of Samsung software at some point. Looks like another great application that utilizes multi screen, but with a new twist in linking the timing of the two applications. Would really like to know if anyone has any info on this.

It's provided in India version I'm sure. And for other version, you can download it from samsung apps.

It's avialble through s suggest app>>>>

Thanks, I will check that out.

Well, when I tried to download it I got a message saying that Product does not exist in the store. It appears the application that shows up in the search is for the galaxy note phone. Don't know if anybody has successfully downloaded this app but I would be interested to hear if you had.

Okay to get the learning hub app (honestly I didn't find anything useful in it but it might be for others) through Samsung apps here's what you need to do:
1. If you have a Samsung account on your tablet, remove it
2. Clear data and cache from your Samsung apps
3. Go to your Samsung apps, create a new account but list your country as United Kingdom
4. Create a new Samsung account and also list your country as United Kingdom (I suggest to open a new email account or if you have an old email address you don't use anymore/often and register your UK Samsung account with, note that you're gonna have to confirm it through a link that they will send to you via email
5. Login with your UK Samsung account and viola, download the app and enjoy it.
The app will require you to sign in with your UK Samsung account ,which I found annoying, so I removed the account from my tablet. I might mess with it later to see what all the fuss is about! I hope this helps

Hey guys, just got my note N8000 and i realize that i dont have learning hub installed, i am from philippines, do i need to install this app or should this app be included when i purchased my note? Oh and i also dont have the s suggest app

WiFi Overseas + Market Help

The device:
GT-P6210 v3.2
Kernal: 2.6.36-P6210UEKL1-CL583281 [email protected] #3
Build: HTJ85B.UEKL1 P6210UEKLI
The sitch:
I'm a US citizen with a US device (I bought through Amazon.com and had shipped to me through a third party). However, I am currently living in Japan on a military installation. When searching for an app on the Android Market, 95% of the time the return is: No results found--even if what I'm searching for is free. I'm assuming the 5% app result (even though it's never what I'm looking for) is because of a similar app posted on the Japanese market (I could be wrong). Using a median to get through to the market (GetJar, etc.), I am able to download free apps, but I cannot buy anything that costs money. I finally emailed the Android App Customer Service and was told it was because of my IP address.
The kicker:
First and foremost, how is it my IP when I have reset my device to factory default and used a US VPN before I logged into the market and was still unable to access apps? But even putting aside that point, here is some food for thought:
I have owned both a Nook Color and Kindle Fire and, after rooting them, was able to access the Android Market just fine. All within the IP address I am currently using.
I have friends here who own Android phones (bought here on the military base through a Japanese phone company) and an Android US tablet. On all three devices they are able to access the market without any problems. Additional info: Friend's devices are SIRIUS α IS06 [au.kddi.com/english/seihin/ichiran/smartphone/is06/index.html] x2, and a Toshiba Thrive 10”; none of friend's devices are rooted.
I had above friend log into my Android Market account on her phone and buy a few apps for me, and she was able to.
Another friend of mine here owns the same Galaxy Tab I do and can also not access the Android Market.
So what is going on? How, exactly, does the market determine your location. And how do I fix it? MarketEnabler and MarketUnlocker don’t work on WiFi only devices.
Not a fix, but have you tried accessing the market from a computer, and purchasing the apps through it? If the computer can access all the apps, you may be able to choose your tab as the device you wish to install them on. Not a fix, but maybe a temporary work-around.
Sent from my GT-P6210 using Tapatalk
Also, what are a couple of the apps? Could be that the market doesn't recognize them as compatible with the 7+ (due screen resolution, lack of telephony, etc.) List a couple apps, and i can see if i have access to them. Good luck!

Yes. I apparently have 3 devices on there and all 3 are always grayed out. It says "This item cannot be installed on your device."

The 3 latest apps I've tried are gReader Pro, HD Widgets, and Tabletbar Hider (root). My friend was able to buy the first 2 for me on my account with her phone, but Tabletbar Hider is incompitable so it doesn't show up. When trying to download it from my PC, my friend's newly added phone says "This item is not compatible with your device" while my tablet gives the above error. I've had the market issue with every single app I've tried.
Sent from my GT-P6210 using Tapatalk
Yep, I have access to all three from my 7+. Strange that the options for your devices are grayed out. Hopefully somewhere here will have more to offer.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I forgot to add that if I can get an outside link to the marketplace app, if it's free I can download it fine. I can even browse within the market and download free apps. I cannot search for apps (free or pay) and I cannot buy apps even with an outside link into the marketplace. <--this is all on my tablet. My PC can find apps, I just can't download/buy them because it says I have no compatible devices.
Update from The Galaxy Tab Forum:

ref 3. ask your friend to log into her android account on your Tab & see the outcome

I logged into my friend's marketplace account and was unable to access the market properly. I don't know exactly what I'm supposed to be doing in Devices and Trouble Downloading. My device shows up, as well as an old Nook Color and Kindle Fire, along with my friend's newly added phone. I am now able to buy things from my PC on the marketplace using my friend's phone, but only if it's not tablet specific (which sucks, 'cause I own a tab). As far as trouble downloading, I can download things if they're free. Oddly enough, I can't search for free from my tab's market, but I can download free. If I need to search for something I have to use alternate means (GetJar, Browser, etc.). I can not buy anything, though. And that's especially frustrating since a few of the things I needed to buy are tablet only apps that couldn't be bought from PC market (using friend's phone as device).
Also, my friend tried using her Toshiba Thrive with my market account and was unable to. So I wrong, her tablet can't access the US market. Not even using her own account can she access it. So it seems to be a tablet specific issue. But only "real" tablets, because like I said in a prior post, after rooting a Nook Color and Kindle Fire I was able to download, install, and use the marketplace without issue.

Cant open learning hub

Hi
I cant start the lwarning hub , when i open the app only the topbar is showing and after seconds it shutdown
Sent from my GT-N8000 using XDA Premium HD app
If you're rooted this could be the reason...
Since I live in australia I've never been able to open the learning hub as "your country isn't supported" but I once got a message saying that due to piracy concerns the hub was going to close....
I have actually solved this problem. I use learning hub on my n8000 now.
1) create a new samsung id and use the uk for your country.
2) on kies go to regedit then find the folder for your kies( Skip this step if your keys has the samsung app store already
Path for this is Computer>HKEY_CURRENT_USER> Software> samsung> Kies2.0> on the left side click on region then enter IN
3) save
4) open kies and log in with your new samsung id from UK
5) Install learning hub
6) Done! you now have learning hub, download the books. And they even have a promotion to get some free stuff
Hope I was able to help I also had this problem before and I had to think it through because of some info I found
You said "create a new Samsung id using UK as my country".
But I don't find an option to choose country.
I'm trying both from the web and Galaxy note 8.
I doubt since the post is 1 year old,Samsung has changed their policy during this time.
UPDATE:
I got UK account from here
www . samsung,. com / uk / register /
(Pls correct the link as I don't have rights to submit links as a new user)
and Learning Hub runs OK
But I still don't understand why you told to edit registry keys of Kies.
Would you like to explain?
Thanks

Milk music

I know milk music isn't available for non Samsung phones, but shouldn't there be a way to install it on the Samsung watch? It seems like the watch is partially crippled by me having a non Samsung device.
Does anyone know of a way?
@paoloroeseke, were you ever able to find an answer to this? I just purchased an S2 and I haven't been able to find anything on this; only how to install Milk Music onto my phone. Thanks!
use a file manager to sideload it. Same thing for any geo-restricted app. If you plan on using those geo-apps regularly, do like me, create a new Google account with some us address, then use a VPN when you want to download restricted apps while switching to that american account. I've been doing that for years and have never had any problem, then only thing you need, at least I did, is a deposit of US funds. I simply bought a 10$ Google Play card from ebay.
@polish_pat,
I actually live in the US, I just do not have a Samsung phone. Milk music is only accesible via the Play/Gear stores on samsungs. I have filesmaster, i just cant seem to locate a Milk Music .wgt file to push over. Would you by chance know of (or have) one I could try?

You will not be able to sideload the app on non samsung devices. MilkMusic is a re-skinned Slacker Radio app. It requires some Samsung frameworks only available on Galaxy devices. This is a deal they have signed with Slacker in order to reduce ads and interruptions for free users and reduce monthly cost for premium users. I know there are some mods that either reskin the slacker app to look like milk or trick the app to emulate a galaxy, but those have been killed by Samsung overtime. Still worth giving it a shot, check out the link below

Thanks a ton for taking the time to respond. Funny enough, I actually found that link yesterday after i had posted, and was in fact able to sideload the samsung account app as well as whatever old version of Milk that is. The problem I'm still having is i'm unable to find/get the milk music .wgt file to send/install to the watch itself :-/

Don't bust your balls with that, I have a Note 5 and have issues with milk on my gear as well, I can't even imagine a non-samsung user. My problem is my location. I'm able to trick the phone to play milk in Canada, but the watch keeps asking to install "com.samsung.mdl.radio.gear.providero" but when it launches galaxy apps it says the app is not available for my device. It seems to be geo-restricted and somehow the watch is able to see through my VPN.
As for your issue, let me try and pull the file from my watch if I find a free filemanager as I don't have any credit card on file with my samsung account.

Using that thread, I was able to install milk music on my moto x pure, AND log into a Samsung account to enable explicit content. Now to just figure out installing the wgt. I think I actually have it saved somewhere.

Thanks a ton for the linkage @paoloroeseke! Installed them both and Milk works great on my device now. The only remaining thing, as you said......is to find that wgt and push it over to the gear s2! thanks a ton!

I have the same issue. I live in Korea and have a Korean S5 and an American Gear 2S. I use a VPN for my Milk Music, but I get an error trying to install the helper. There is actually a different version of Milk Music here simply called Milk. Since I am defaulted to the Korean Gear Apps store anyways, I even tried installing their version of the helper which requires their version of Milk as well. The helper installs fine but when I get to the Milk install it also fails citing that I do not have an official samsung firmware on my phone.......go figure. Anyways, I haven't given up on trying yet, and if you find a fix before me, please let me know. I will do the same for you. I have thought of trying to do a rest on the watch while at home with my router running the VPN/DNS and also not allowing any location until after attemping. But I worry that because my phone defaults to the Korean Galaxy App Store( and I tried many ways around it, bottom line it is a Korean phone) I will be doing it in vain.

Dont bother when I set up my watch I was in the United States for 2 weeks after that. My guess is it's not seeing through the vpn, or location but more the Samsung Account info. Same thing happened when i bought a pair of multiroom speakers a few years back...the multiroom app prevented me to use Pandora within the multiroom app while streaming to all speakers that were paired. What's funny is as soon as I closed the multiroom app and launched the pandora app on its own, it worked, but i had to stream by Bluetooth to one speaker only. Something tells me they use the account info to filter us

I finally got it. I decided to give it a shot and it worked. i threw my wife's SiM card US Sim card in and was able to access the US store and download the helper. Once it is installed you can go back to using Milk with the VPN and all is well with the helper app and using the watch to control it. If you are able to find a US sim card, it doesn't matter the status of the card as long as it is a US sim card.

Samsung gear app store paid apps for non Samsung phone

I managed to purchase some watch faces that were previously not available to non Samsung devices. Have Samsung note allowed those with non Samsung phones to buy apps?
I had to register a credit card with them, but it was easy.
Using lion gate watch face at the moment, was £0.98
Seems like a good news for non-Samsung users Which phone are you using?
Seeing paid apps in the gear app store on my LG V10 and have access to prevously bought stuff as well.
Edit: Tested purchasing as well and worked fine.

Were you able to able to register your credit card on Gear App itself or did you have to do it somewhere else online?
I have it paired with a Huawei Mate 7 and can only see free apps with no apparent option to add any credit card details.
Thanks.

I managed to register with the Samsung gear app store via the app. Didn't have to register anywhere else.
I had to do it on my computer. I kept getting error messages on the phone.
In my case it never asks for a credit card. I have even tried creating a new account on a PC. It must be geo locked or something of the sort.

Sadly there are still free apps i can't see in store, like ntv, kommot or golfcard.

Hi Javan, I always downloaded the gear manager app from the play store. In the meantime I finally got a reply from Samsung and they basically said that paid apps are not supported in my country (Malta).
My problem is that I don't know at which stage this "country check" takes place.
1) Is it when I am creating the Samsung account? In this case I would be able to use a VPN workaround when creating a new account.
2) Is it when I download the Samsung gear app from the Play store? In this case I will need to root my phone and use a market unlocker.
3) Is it when I am accessing the Tizen store? In this case I have no idea ... it would be too cumbersome to workaround this [emoji22]
One way or another there has to be a workaround, I just want to avoid rooting the phone as much as possible.
If anyone has any ideas or managed to access paid apps in the store from a non-supported country, I would be forever grateful if you can share your solution.

Amazon Alexa on Samsung Gear/Galaxy Watch (Alexa Gear) - Beta thread

*** IMPORTANT ***
Beta is over; final product is available in the galaxy store.
*** IMPORTANT ***
Hello everyone,
This is the announcement of our new Gear (Galaxy) watch app. It is basically a full-featured voice assistant using Amazon Alexa voice service running on your watch.
Today, we will be starting a closed beta and hopefully if we can solve all issues, the app will be released in 10-15 days.
The application consists of a GUI on the watch and a companion app which should run on the Android phone. (only Android , no IOS unfortunately)
The Android companion app is released at:
Alexa Gear
Without the watch app, the companion Android application is useless.
We have a few known issues, and before a full release including watch side application, we would like to identify and solve all issues.. That's the reason of this closed beta.
The app supports following Samsung Watches:
Samsung Gear S2
Samsung Gear S3
Samsung Gear Sport
Samsung Galaxy Watch
If you are interested in beta testing, please see below notes for beta testers, and provide your information in the form of following example by sending an email to mrmrmrmr(at)gmail.com
Email Subject: Application for AlexaGear Beta Test
Email body:
Name: John Smith
Email: [email protected] (your email address used to login for Samsung Galaxy/Gear App Store)
Phone Brand/Model: Samsung Note 9
Watch Model: Samsung Gear S3
Phone OS: Android 8.0
Notes for beta testers:
Beta application will be open from now on and will be closed when we believe all required type of users are selected.
Applying for the beta does not guarantee that you will be selected as a beta user. We would like to keep the beta group small with enough sample of various watch/phone models.
Beta process may continue untill the application is released.
Beta download link will be provided to selected users starting later today.
Notes about the current state of the application - also important for beta attendees:
The app is not fully released and this is a closed beta. It may cause application force-close on your phone.
The debug version of the app may cause high battery usage on your phone since it is not optimized.
You may have to install Amazon's official "Amazon Shopping" application on your phone to login, if it is not already installed.
The current version of the app outputs the voice response from Alexa on your phone and not your watch. Voice response will be sent to watch in a later release.
We expect from beta users to share their experience in the form of following only. All other communication attempts may be missed (i.e. different mail subject or wrong form of mail body);
Code:

UPDATE : Login problem is solved ; now we don't need Amazon Shopping to login.
Looks good on the video, I assume you're using the Alexa API directly (hence the Amazon Shopping log in)? And it looks like you're sending recorded audio to the phone, not STT?
I'd offer to join your beta, but I don't use Alexa anymore
Edit: Just letting you know your Play badge isn't linked to your store listing...

You are correct. application is using Alexa API directly. Amazon Shopping shouldn't be required for the final release. App should be able to login using Alexa authorization. We are going to fix it before release, hopefully.
Thanks for informing me about the badge issue. It was originally linked to the Play Store listing but the image tag overwrites it. I changed to plain text instead of badge now...
Hi there, I've been after something genious like this for Google Assistant or Alexa but just sold my Echo Dot!
With your app are we able to ask Alexa questions and receive answers on the watch or does it simply route the question to the Echo Device?
Great work either way..

In a later release we'll move the responses to the watch.

But I am not sure if non-Samsung devices can attend beta. Samsung might have a limitation there. You can try.
mm i'm thinking to ask for beta test. i'm italian and i have amazon echo (i'm part of preview project to improve italian before official release in our country)
should i have time, i'll email you
UPDATE : Login problem is solved ; now we don't need Amazon Shopping to login.
OK, great I've installed both and tested a small amount, this will be amazing if you can get answers on the Galaxy Watch. Couple of things if I may.
1 - When asking for location based queries it can't answer, says I need to add to Alexa App (Not installed)
2- Says Spotify and Google maps not supported on this device when asking for them.
3 - App closes intermittently on Galaxy Watch when screen closes (15 seconds on mine)
I'll give it a good go later when children are asleep and report back.. So far though seems very good
Is possible to have this app in spanish?
final version in action....

- response will be sent to watch in 2 weeks. I know what I have to do, but it is planned for second phase. Priority is to make a release with no major problems.
- for location, timezone and metric units settings you have to use Alexa app or https://alexa.amazon.com settings page.
- Spotify and Google maps are not supported on Android applications by Amazon. I am sorry but this is not possible.
- What happens when app closes ? Do you see any errors ? What happens if you reopen it ? Does it work normally ?
Thanks.

it should support all languages which are supported by Amazon Alexa. But the language setting is not available yet. I will try to fix it.
I'm using a Google Pixel 2 XL and a gear S3. I don't see the app in the US store. Am I missing something? Cheers
You can count me in. I'm in the US on Xfinity Mobile on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and a Samsung Galaxy S3
Sent from my SM-N950U using XDA Labs

which store you mean ?
On Google Play you should see the app (the direct link is in first post)
On Samsung apps Store (for watch part) , you can not see anything because it is in beta, not released. (see the first post if you'd like to attend beta)
This sounds interesting, so I think I'll sign up for the beta. I just purchased recently my S3 and it is still in the mail.
