ALL CREDITS GO TO THEM I DO NOT WISH OR CLAIM IT TO BE MY OWN, I MADE IT ONLY WORK FOR SENSATION
Quote:
This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone. I know you've seen tablet mode roms before, they change two lines in your build.prop file which you could easily edit yourself in seconds and maybe throw a keyboard in there to make it work better. It's a start, but this ain't enough. This thing has potential, but it is wasted the moment you try to stuff a full blown tablet into your poor phone. Yet we all know our high res phones can very well handle more than silly 1-column layouts. So the magic must be in between somewhere, a place that Google must have overlooked and left blank. Yes, this rom strives to drop your device into tablet mode, but it won't stop there, it will reshape and redefine JellyBean to make it all a useful addition and not just a cute novelty. we're calling it: Hybrid Mode, best of both worlds.

Pretty simple really, download and flash
- Full wipe isn't always necessary, but always highly recommended. Don't bother with bug reports until you've full wiped.

ULTIMATE TABLET-MODE SETUP
Azothyran's Ultimate Guide to TABLET MODE!
NOTE: THIS WILL REQUIRE A FEW REBOOTS, AND DOWNLOADING AN APPLICATION.
STEP 1: Download Nova Launcher , hit your HOME BUTTON, and set Nova Launcher as your Default launcher.
STEP 2: Go to SETTINGS -> Paranoid Settings -> Workspace
STEP 3: Select Tablet UI (Mid) and allow the REBOOT.
STEP 4: Go to SETTINGS -> Paranoid Settings -> User Interface
STEP 5: SET THE FOLLOWING VALUES:
WORKSPACE UI: Tablet Mode
SYSTEM APPS: Tablet Mode
USER APPS: Tablet Mode
Sliders:
System apps default size: 200
User apps default size: 200
Statusbar size: 180
Lockscreen size: 185
CLICK APPLY IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER AND REBOOT.
- FOR OPTIMUM VISUALS FOLLOW THE REST OF THE TUTORIAL BELOW
STEP 6: Go to SETTINGS -> Paranoid Settings -> Apps -> Nova Launcher
STEP 7: Make sure size is set to 200. Slide your finger from the right side of the screen to the left, to go to the LAYOUT / UI TAB. Set the drop down menu to 1. 360px. CLICK APPLY IN THE TOP LEFT.
STEP 8: Go to SETTINGS -> Launcher -> Dock -> Dock Icons [SET TO 7]
STEP 9: Go to SETTINGS -> Launcher -> Drawer -> Drawer App Grid (and hold your phone in portrait mode) [SET TO 6 ROWS / 5 COLUMNS]
STEP 10: Go back into Drawer App Grid and rotate your device to LANDSCAPE. [SET TO 4 ROWS / 6 COLUMNS]
STEP 11: Go to SETTINGS -> Launcher -> Desktop -> Desktop Grid and make sure it is set to 5 ROWS / 7 COLUMNS
- APP SPECIFIC SIZE SETTINGS:
Try out the keyboard. If you don't like it and want the old one back:
Go to SETTINGS -> Paranoid Settings -> Apps -> Android Keyboard (AOSP)
Slide your finger from the right side of the screen to the left to switch to the LAYOUT/UI tab. Set it for 1. 360px.
Slide your finger right to left again, to the FORCE tab, and check the box that says FORCE.
TO FIX OTHER APPLICATIONS, USE THE SETTINGS BELOW:
Please note that you don't have to check FORCE on every application you change, ONLY IF IT DOESN'T RESPECT THE SETTINGS YOU CHOOSE. So don't use FORCE unless the app won't listen.
GOOGLE NOW: Size - 240 / Layout - 360px
YOUTUBE: Size - 150 / Layout - 720px
STOCK LAUNCHER SIZE: Size - 240 / Layout -360px (You should set the options on Nova back to default)
Last of all, you can experiment with these settings to find something that works for you! This is just a guideline to show you how to mess with the settings, and adjust specific apps for the best result. If you find settings that work great for other apps, post them so we can add them to our list!

The Collective Proudly Presents Ascension v1.0 Alpha-8!
For Inspire 4G or Desire HD
aka "The Dude"
*DISCLAIMER*
You do this knowing all risks involved with flashing a ROM.
Neither I nor any member of The Collective is responsible for any permanent damage.
This is considered an Alpha release so please treat it like an Alpha and expect bugs and some things not to work properly.
Absolution ICS is now Ascension!
*Read This Entire Post Completely Then Read it Again*
NOT WORKING:
-Full video playback may still have glitches but much improved
-Stock Camera has glitches - use included Abso Cam or other aftermarket camera app and don't ask for fixes
-Other minor bugs
*WARNING*
-Do not ask for support or complain that something doesn't work because YOU flash someone else's kernel.
-Do not ask for support or complain that something doesn't work because YOU restore apps and/or data and/or system settings from Titanium Backup or Mybackup etc.
-The kernel included is specific to this build and the only one supported.
-If you would like a CFS version grab the one from the OTA as it is clearly stated below.
-Do Not ask for ETA on the next release
-Do Not ask for Cyanogenmod or AOKP Features (If I want to add them I will at my own leisure)
-Do Not ask for help if you didn't full wipe before coming from a different rom!
-Do Not Flame other users in my thread! That's my job alone!
-Enjoy the rom and remember it is ALPHA Quality and sure to contain bugs
What is it you ask?
-A Serious Work in Progress!
-This is compiled from from source from the latest aospX by existz
(Don't forget to donate to his Nexus fund!)
-Custom CollectiveACE kernel BFS by default CFS version available in OTA Full Source Here
-Collective Tools app with OTA features
-Custom Camera Launcher that launches Angel Camera for stills and VideoCam Illusion for Videos
(You need a player like Rock Player Lite or MXPlayer to Play the Videos)
-OTA updates.
-Andrev OC built in with CPU Tweak for custom Sleep/Wake Profiles
-InspireMod Audio files installed by default
-Custom Preset CPU OC profiles and preset UV settings
-Latest Gapps for ICS and libs
-Tweaked APN config for AT&T users (Tested and seems to have best results with MMS etc)
-WiFix Manager for those having trouble with WiFi
-ES File Manager
-Titanium Backup
-QuickPic
-Velvet Leisure Suit Lives On!
-Tons of Features in Collective Tools in the Settings Menu
-Ability to download and install Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher or Trebuchet Launcher along side the default launcher.
-Again Please keep in mind that this is an Alpha Release. It is very stable for every day use but will contain bugs

Stable from the get-go, and battery performance that's unbeatable. Coupled with the Outstanding OTA and built in tools.*
The best ICS build (IMO).
Cheers
* Once again I repeat I am not paid by the team for my comments...well not much anyway
Excellent work. A new rom for a flashaholic.
Yeah I know an update already!
Just rolled out a quick update in the OP and in the OTA!
flappjaxxx OUT!
Just a suggestion, maybe you can add a section on post 1 that mention what works and what does not work properly for current version. That will be helpful

The stock camera has the same glitches as Lord's build, and Angel camera works fine in both (although Ascension has it built in).
As for comparing them:
Ascension's advantages:
Smoother and faster
Useful CPU tweaking menu (wake and sleep governors + UV options)
Much more stock experience. No extras like 6-bar network or clock AM/PM
OTA updates
Downloadable Ascension mods and tweaks from the menu
Fantastic battery life after flashing LorD's 8.9b6 kernel (but stock kernel isn't that great)
IceColdSandwich's (3.0) advantages:
Much more customization like different batteries, different clock styles, signal bars, 4 and 8 way lock-screen, etc.
Much more non-CPU performance options like KSM and scrolling cache
Great battery life

@People who are using this rom

[COLOR="Red"][B]Build 3[/B][/COLOR][/SIZE]
This release of the rom contains a ramdisk that will scan ext(4,3,2)
filesystems prior to mounting. Repairs are done automatically as
needed so if your filesystems are clean, you shouldn't notice anything
different. If they are corrupt it may take a little longer to boot.
Precautions:
We are asking (insisting) that everyone flashing this version of the
rom do a clean install.
Factory Reset must be run through recovery. The installer is not
capable of unmounting the cache partition that recovery mounts.
The Option inside the installer for clearing Data will reformat
the data partition only. In the future it will clear all the data
that the Factory reset option in recovery does, but for now it is
limited.
We are insisting that Factory Reset be used because it's an almost
guarantee that /data, /cache and perhaps /system are corrupt.
Journals only repair certain types of fs corruption and android
doesn't use fsck to repair filesystems. So overtime, especially
with the use of overclocking and undervolting and unsupported versions
of android, these writeable filesystems get corrupt.
Repairing such corrupted filesystems will yield completely unknown
results as far as files that get cleared or duplicated.
In the future however, you should be able to rely on dirty installs
much more, as those filesystems will not get more and more corrupt
overtime. You should also notice that long term use will not
result in increasing instability.
You can verify that filesystems are being repaired prior to mounting
by checking dmesg via adb or in Terminal. You should not see any
messages about the journal recovering the filesystems when they
are mounted. But more importantly you'll notice things are way
more stable (at least in the force close and random crash department)
Short version:
Boot into recovery.
Factory reset
Install zip
Leave installation options on default settings.
proceed with installation.

EAGLESBLOOD™ ROM INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
=======================================
**IMPORTANT** - MUST READ CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW COMPLETELY
1. Make a full backup of your current ROM. Then copy it over to PC if you wish.
2. Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM). *Note* You should always flash CWM using a USB Cable and NVflash; do not 'flash CWM from the ROM Manager app'.
3. To begin start by clicking "Wipe User Data/Factory Reset", this will wipe all data off of the phone's memory (not SD card though).
4. Now click "Wipe cache partition".
5. Then go down to "Advanced > Wipe Dalvik cache".
6. Choose Install zip from "External SD Card". Wait for that to complete and confirm you see an "Installation Complete" message.
7. Now, you must flash the correct Google Apps - GApps ICS (gapps-20120212-ics.zip) ...link below.
Once the gapps are installed you can now click "Reboot System". Failing to complete all of these instructions precisely can potentially leave you stuck in CWM Recovery until you manage to build your way back out. This is not fun, trust us.
9. Done. Enjoy your new ROM!

Might be the new libaudio...
Hope to get this fixed soon, or we'd have to be reverting to older libaudio

What are the bugs in this rom???
Bootanimation specially made for our device, yay!
Many thanks to espen96 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=5250979) for making the new awesome PA bootanim, and resizing it for our device too
Here in attached is the bootanimation for our device, personally tested by me (not flashable, atm): View attachment 480p.zip
you can install it using adb by:
Code:
adb shell su -c 'mount -o rw,remount /system'
adb push 480p.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
adb shell chmod 755 /system/media/bootanimation.zip
adb shell reboot (optional, in case you want to view animation :) )
This would be the bootanim by default, in future builds (if PA doesn't make a better bootanim, ofc)

U r welcome! Cooking ROMs has become my hobby. It keeps me alive!
I would greatly appreciate it if you give me some feedback in return! :good:
@spezi77, hat's off to your talents. I have flashed 3 of your roms
from Xperia Z > CM-11 KitKANG > Carbon
they are all ready well made and at very high standard.
Omni is the next rom that can match CM. I can't wait to try.
off topic, are you working on a Sense based rom?
U Rock!
Spezi, can't thank you enough for your efforts!! You're awesome!
Will test it out tonight and let you know how it goes... :good:
@spezi77, you are doing good job to desire community. Keep up good work.
Just flashed this and all running good. Will have more of a play and let you know but big thumbs up so far . Thank you kindly

Relieved to hear that it's running good. I have asked devs from omni-team about the BT and UMS issues. Maybe someone can help me to find the right fix..
Nice rom, very fast and smooth.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
My experience on the first build of the Omni rom is smooth and fast response.
On Installation process, please add "flash supersu zip" before InstallA2SD,
Boot ROM and let it settle down (3-5 min)
Install A2SD
because root access is required.
Do you find develop in Omni is easier or harder than CM?
I still ran out of space quickly using a2sd, but mount2sd is working sweet, 20+ apps so far.
Rom has been very stable for me, compared with other kitkat roms I've used. Good work

For softkeys try Xposed and gravitybox. Or you can edit the build prop yourself but I forget the line you need to add

Ah ok. Can't remember if with gravitybox you can adjust the size or not.
Super!
Quick and easy installation.. Super quick and smooth Rom!!
Just one small issue with the default messaging app - outgoing SMS shows up blank, although the messages are getting delivered.
Something to do with the theme colors I think. Just moved to some other messaging app.
All-in-all - a great rom -
Active display and other cool features too!
I don't know if it is a placebo - but the battery seems to last longer :victory:
Thanks Spezi77!

I believe that longer battery life comes from SmartassH3.
SmartassH3 - based on SmartassV2 with parameters tuned by H3ROS (thanks) -
more efficient frequency scaling - not ramping too high when not needed this could potentially
result in better battery life

BTW, I got Bluetooth to work!
Furthermore switched to the latest Purity bionic repo (thanks @Chromium).
Mini update for release 2:
I have uploaded a new rom.zip which comes along with a File Manager -- get it from the 1st post.

OT: Well, I thought of looking for a new challenge.. but until now I could not find enough time to continue my SENSE research..

Well, it is hard to give you a true and general statement.
I was working approximately for 2-3 months to make my debut with Kitkang. At that time I have invested a lot of time in researching, discussing and learning from other xda devs. That was really a great time! OmniROM took me less time (maybe 2-3 weeks) because I was already aware of all the tricks to make it run on HTC Desire.
I admire the unique aspects of OmniROM -- I like the innovative and experimental approach and thinking different -- "Omni isn’t better, just different"!
So if I were to start or get involved in feature developments, I would definitely go for Omni.
P.S.: I believe that with one of the next releases we can expect the much-discussed "Multiwindow" feature.
