Same situation hapened to me with CM 8.3 and was repeating several times after.I resolved it and here is how i did it.
1:Flash CM 7.2 Aplha 8.3 or any other rom with default kernel via cwm.
2:Wait till download is done and your phone restart's in cwm recovery.
3:Then select "Wipe data factory reset",then go in Advanced menu,Clear cache,Clear Dalvik cache
4:Hit restart and wait for the boot to complete.
And that should solve the problem.I hope that helped to you.

@up Same problem happened to me, I just flashed cache.rfs via Odin and it went back to normal...

Ok, Remove this "fs.current " file from the sdcard folder /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/ and reboot.
This will solve issue
or else goto download mode and flash another kernel and reboot, note : remember to remove above mentioned file before flashing.

I have deleted that file and I directly reboot into recovery than I flash CM7.2 alpha 8.3. When download complete, I wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache. But same error occur "failed to mount /dev/block/stl7 (invalid argument). So is there other ways to slove this problem or my internal memory problem?

If ODIN is the only way to slove the problem, I need the step and the tools for ODIN to recognise my Phone and how to flash with ODIN.

Recovery backup failed

This is something unusual. I backup whole rom with help of recovery many times without any problem. But when today I tried to backup through recovery then everything goes well but suddenly at the end message appeared that 'cache backup failed'. I was using xda bam v14 fix kernel. I thought may be there is some problem with kernel so I flashed UC team kernel v15. Tried same but same error occured. Finally I tried advance backup option so that I can backup only 'cache' but nothing happened. I am experience such bug first time I have attached log for more reference. Please take a look guys so that where my phone is going in a wrong way.
Anybody is kind enough to reply on this topic???

My backup is 1.8gb anyway it was just a possible error, no need to seem so offensive. I would just flash a few different kernels to check. U flashed one only, right?

I tried that. But still I am getting same error. Wiered thing is that system, data etc all parts get backed up successfully but only cache backup gets failed. Also I tried 2 kernels i.e. bam v14 cf root kernel & UC kernel v15. Same error on both kernels.

reformatting cache partioin only??? How to do that??? Will I loose any data???
EDIT :- Ok I did reformatting cache formatting through recovery but still no change. Now I am getting very serious problem. I tried to flash DDLF2 rom through mobile odin. But flashing is not getting done. App says its flashing firmware & after that nothing happens. I think some system files has corrupted. Once I get a pc I will flash from .pit file to DDLF2 rom. But still I wonder because of what this has happened

Logs seems fine - just stops where it shouldn't. Looks like a corrupted flash block. Hope the .pit-flash solves it.

once i had same problem and tried everything like you did but no way. i flashed rom again and etc. then it worked.
Try doing "advanced backup" with which you can backup each partition separately. You'll get an error at some point, but continue to the next anyway. Next, flash a clean ROM and do a factory reset. Finally do "advanced restore" but skip the partition that gave an error and restore what you can using titanium backup (restore from nandroid).
Cheers

it is simple i think..
1)just boot into recovery..
2) enter mount and storage option
3 and format all the options..
/cache
/data
/system
/sd-ext
4) reboot recovery..and...
done!..flash new rom as you wish..

What are you wiping? Just cache? just dalvik cache? Make sure you have a spare rom on your pc and then wipe everything. Cache,Dalvik cache, sytem, factory reset, and sdcard. Guaranteed all your stuff will be gone. Including your rom. Youll have to mount your sdcard afterwards and copy a rom to the sd and flash it afterwards.

I'm at a loss sorry. If you didn't check the md5, that would be a good start, just to ensure it was a good download. Also, hopefully it was twrp 2.3.3.1 or earlier as higher versions have wiping issues.

And how do I mount storage from recovery, can you give me a detailed process? I've never had a problem like this.

The tab that says mount... And it won't make a difference if u delete one thing at a time or format it. If you can't find mount in recovery stop screwing with the phone. You haven't read enough. I don't mind helping but.... Do try and help yourself before asking. These phones can be tricky, spend a few hours getting a grasp then I'll bet you could handle it on your own

Not sure what is going on but here is how I flash a ROM from recovery and so far so good.
Copy rom file to external sd card in phone.
Do a full factory wipe, cache and dalvik.
Install rom.
Install Gapps if necessary or desired.
Wipe cache and dalvik again.
Reboot
Note that some roms will give you a recommended list of what to wipe if doing a new install or upgrade of that rom, if such instructions exist its best to follow those instead but the above has worked for me for a while now.

That's what is advised to do before flashing a completely different ROM anyway by some. From recovery, flash the ROM again, and if the ROM is not corrupted (check md5 or whatever comes with it), you should be good to go.

Have patience,wait for 10-15 minutes.
First of all, you shouldn't have used Rom manager. It bricks our device
Read the guide in the top of general section and install a proper recovery from odin.
Maybe the zip you have downloaded is corrupted. So download it again and try.
Make sure you are on official gingerbread(2.3.x) and not froyo(2.2)
If none of this works, there is something seriously wrong with your device.
But don't worry, you can flash stock via odin and revert back to factory state.

Which customize ROM?
For customize ROM you need with ODIN instal Clockwork Mod Recovery (CWM).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339640
Now you can install custom ROM. Go in CWM and go on wipe data reset, wipe cashe partition in Advanced wipe dalvik cashe. Install ROM and again go on wipe data reset, wipe cashe partition and in Advanced, go on wipe dalvik cashe. Reboot phone. It need wait about 5 minutes for system up.

Actually I tried all the way dude
Googled a lot to find a solution but didnt find anything useful.
I tried to flash CM 10.1 but it shows booting but nothing else..
Only boot image ,,,,,,
But Im not ready to give up
Here I will explain the whole thing I did
1.I rooted my phone with help of update zip
2.I connected phone to computer in download mode and flashed CWM recovery via odin,, in that I selected ops tag and then one package with cwm.
3.after flashing CWM via odin , I entered into CWM mode by pressing Ok button +power on button.

Stock ROM work on your phone?
Bro! Goto "mounts & storage" & select "format /system"...(if u haven't done yet). Then try flashing custom rom. & always use cwm recovery by tjstyles v5.0.2.7
Let's hope for the best...

Do this straight away:-
1. Flash Froyo 2.2.1(4 package) of ur country.
2. Then flash Gingerbread 2.3.6(one package) of ur country.
3. Then flash cwm via Odin.
4. Flash the custom rom thereafter.
Since it seems a bit complex issue, u need to try this to ensure zero errors.:sly: Btw u can try above steps in ur spare time.
As for me, I always try all methods that I know b4 concluding anything.
