Rom GT-N8013 and GT-N8010 - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. In this site I can found some custom rom for Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 and N8013 but nothing for N8010 Model.. Can i install N8013 Rom in N8010 Model?

Looks like the Jellybean OTA may have just been released in India. Ours wont be far behind. Just wait on that. If it comes flash it through Kies if you are rooted.

I have a N8010 device with root. Can I flash the stock firmware on rooted device?

Anyone?

i'd like to know the answer too

Oops. Wrong thread. Apologies

But what happens if you flash a rom for n8000 over a n8013/8010?? The only difference is 3g, I think there must be no issues... Does someone more experienced in this can give an answer?

I don't have this problem, but if I were in this situation, I would use ODIN to flash a ROM. You will lost everything, though.

I too had the same issue and resolved it by flashing a ROM with ODIN.

If you're rooted, boot into CWM and clear cache and data and try restarting the tab. If that doesn't work, then do a factory reset. Last option would be to Odin. I still have the old official HC LA3 firmware if u need it, although most of us have gone over and flashed the UK ICS firmware. Don't know why Sammy hasn't given us U.S users an official American ICS release yet.

So, when the U.S. version comes out, if I have the non-rooted U.K 4.0.4 version installed, can I use Odin to install the U.S. version without root?

You will run into problems with things like Titanium backup getting confused and not restoring properly.
Honestly the rumor is that the JellyBean OTA may be coming shortly. You should just wait for that. The cm10 rom is the best developed now but you lose s notes with that.
I recommend just rooting with the 8013 Odin in Development and leaving it at that for a while. Other than cm10 the other roms have proven to be a bit unstable. Always be careful. With ICS flash the wrong combination of recoveries and roms and you could have a paperweight on your hands.

Thnx for ur feedback.... But Im only planning on using stock roms.... So can i flash stock n8010 roms from sammobile on the n8013?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I would not if i were you. Honestly until JB gets released you arent going to see much of a performance pop flashing any stock roms.
Better just to chill and enjoy your tablet. Run it on Apex Launcher. Makes it faster.

Thnx again.... The weird thing is that no where could i find a post of how these 2 versions differ except that one is the US version nd the other international..... If they have the same exact hardware, nd they only differ in the region released nd model no. then supposedly flashing one model's rom on the other should not cause any problem.... Am looking 4 strictly technical input on this.

The exact differences between the two models are still unknown. Apparently on the Tab2, the difference was IR ports, but 8010 has them.
I'm not sure why you're so concerned, considering that more developers have 8013 and 8000 units, very few people have 8010s.

They never seem to do so for USA devices.
There is a Kies dump (effectively a full return to stock package) for UEALH2 available in the Development forum.
I know people have flashed the leaked 4.1.1 on their 8013 and in settings it even showed up as a 8010 but yeah I wanna know if the ROMs work

For a custom stock based rom for the 8013, i recommend checking out the rom in my signature. Extremely stable, and has jelly bean animations
I bought a N8013 @ best buy in the USA two weeks ago. I am now back in germany and flashed a german DBT N8010 ROM (LH2). Everything went fine. WLAN, BT, ... everything is fine. I would say that I have now a "real" N8010 machine Even Kies accepts my tab and does not say that it is not qualified for updates...
So, to answer the question: Yes, you can flash a N8010 ROM on a N8013 machine.
But what about N8000 and N8013? Are those interchangeable?

I bought my N8010 (sales in China) and there's no 5GHZ WLAN support in OFFICAL firmware (both CHN and TW ROM , it can't recognise the 5Ghz access point of Cisco E3000)
But it DOES SUPPORT 5Ghz WLAN after flashing N8013 ROM JellyICS (This rom isn't stable enough for daily using for my N8010, all google apps go crash.)
So I guess (just guess) N8013 Rom supports 5GHZ WLAN natively but N8010 doesn't (at least in CHN Version Rom)
I have the 8010 uk version and it works perfect with 5Ghz radio on my asus rt n66u

My N8013 have just flashed with N8010 UK firmware. It stops recognizing 5ghz airport and OTA updating feature. However, using new 4.1.1 is great. it's compromise.
N8013 JB update?
Is their any word on when Samsung will release the JB update for the N8013???

[Q] Will it be possible to revert to ICS from JB?

Hello!
Being a newbie, I would like to get some feedback from the more experienced users in this great forum. As JB seems to be just around the corner for the N8010 series I'm interested in learning whether it will be possible to revert to ICS from JB if that's wanted/needed for any reason. I personally find Samsung devices to be 'flexible' when it comes to flashing ROM/firmware via Odin, which is great compared to other brand tablets I've had my hands on. The reason for my title question is that my local Samsung support centre (Sweden) tells me there is no going back once JB is installed. Do you think this is a fact or merely something they have to say to all customers according to some policy? From what I understand there is no bootlocker or signature match (correct me if I'm wrong here) on our devices under ICS, and I don't see any reason why Samsung should introduce something like that under JB which should stop the possibility if reverting. Anybody who knows or have any thoughts?
Rgds,

Its easy. Just flash an oficial ics fw with odin, I already did this and I had no problem. Just get the fw for your region from sammobile.

[Q] Firmware for Note 10.1 WiFi Only

Hi everyone, I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 WiFi Only (Model N8013) when I go to sammobile.com and search for firmware for this device there is only one for a US carrier, with the version I already have 4.0.4. Does anyone know if I can download the firmware for the model N8000 (3G/WiFi), will it be compatible for the wifi only device?
From what I understand, our model is closer to the 8010.

There is no difference in hardware. Only difference is regions where it is sold. 8013 is US only. 8010 is international wifi. That's why the stock roms are interchangeable. Best way to get JB is flashing 8010 roms.

[Q] N8020 Custom Roms?

HI.
Are there any custom roms for N8020?
Why do seem to find all goodies for N8000 and N8010, however N8020 not much.
I know being the LTE, obviusly has a different radio, but what seems to be the hold up with compiling CM or Omega or any other of the big roms for the N8020?
I am a software developer by trade, and if there are no port of CM or OMEGA to N8020, I would like to get involved to make it happen. Could someone guide me in the process?
Thanks all
Is the n8020 the he Verizon variant? If so you're in luck. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2333169

No its not.
Standard N8020, from Vodaphone South Africa.
Rooted and CWM, 4.1.2 JB Official Firmware.
I wanna run CyanogenMod 10.1.
Can someone point out why is there no version for it?
What is the issue with the LTE?
What will happen if I flash Cyanogen mod for n8000 ?
Thanks

My plan is to first get cyanogen mod 10.1 installed. Fix the broken symlinks.
Once the tab can actually boot will have to see what I need to do to get lte working.
Then there is the IR transmitter that need to get working.
Let's see how it goes.

Here here, me also.
I have both a N8000 & N8020, I will be offloading my N8000 when I sort out a no S Pen working issue so would love to see a port for the N8020.
In fact, I am surprised that there is not even a listing for this model.
Time brings us things though, so no doubt we will eventually see some progress.

Basic answer NO .
https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/1739?query=n8020
4.4.2 is the last release of stock firmware for N8020 .
Development is mostly dead for this model and many links no longer exist .
