Running stock 2.3.3. Even with call volume maxed out I can barely hear the person on the other end. I have tried with multiple calls to multiple people and get the same thing.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Anyone experienced something similar?

i have that problem, i tend to use speaker more. hopefully a mod comes soon
I'm running CM7 RC1 with Voodoo kernel, not sure if the Voodoo sound patch has any part in this, but the volume on my phone is quite loud when using Skype. But in a noisy environment, I'd rather use a pair of noise blocking earphone or headset.
Yea i can barely hear the other person as well. I dont know if its just in my head but it almost seems like it started after the 2.3.3 update

During a call turn the volume down and then back up. When you turn it down you won't notice much difference but you will when you turn it up again. It seems that the volume settings thinks it's at max when it isn't and you need to reset it by turning it down.
Hmm ill give that a shot

Could be your service provider too.

Don't think so. The same issue was present with the N1, kernel developers implemented an audio boost feature that really helped this issue out. Hopefully we will see the same for the NS soon enough.
I would LOOOOOVE for an audio boost similar to the N1 to be implemented for the NS.

[Q] volume of the front speakers? Help please
hello all
does anyone know the phonecodes for the nexus s (service mode)? I want to increase the handset (speaker to the ear)!
in the galaxy s, he is **#*#197328640#*# but not work
nexus s CM7 netarchy 1.2.7
sorry for my bad english
does anybody know how to raise the volume of the front speakers?
I'd like to do this also. Default max volume is too low, sometimes hard to hear what people say.
exactly!
It must be possible to increase the volume
with the voodoo kernel only the speakers on the back work
I have the same problems, in call volume is too low :-( and its not the provider because with my Galaxy S the volume is okay.
Phone speaker is quiet but with my bt earpiece I can get it loud enough to hurt my ears.

i don't know about you guys, but i have no problem hearing the call even in busy ( noisy ) streets environments.
using any of the 3 methods:
normal ear speaker
back speaker
BT headset
on 2.3.3 stock, no mods of any kind
temporarily solution:
During call set volume to min and then to max and then it's OK. After reboot problem is back.

this works
Only volume probs I come across 2.3.0-2.3.3 has been the other person's provider (att, Boost, Metro) so far.
In every rom I've tried, the volume buttons don't work when I'm holding the phone to my head. Is this supposed to be like that? Anyone know of a way to fix this?
Also, is there a way to decrease the min volume, even the lowest is still loud.
Thanks

I'm a give HTC fan but this phone is beyond buggy. The random reboot and such are a huge problem, but now ever so often my phone will make the volume down sound without being touched and without affecting the volume level. Anyone else had this issue?

I noticed this for the first time last night, media volume decreasing while looking at the screen, but the crazy thing is, my podcast never got any quieter.

Has anyone figured out how to change notification volume independent of ringer volume?
And, barring that, is there a way to get the full battery notification to shut the hell up, instead of ringing every 15 seconds until you take it off the charger?

I think we need some more information to better assist you. The ROM you are running would definitely help

Cool, hopefully someone on the same ROM can pipe in. I know there are apps for that. I would just search the market for "volume" and see what you can find. Good luck.
**Actually the ROM I'm on is Sense based and I found the controls for ringer/notification volume under menu>system settings>sound>volumes.
Yes, I know where to find the volume sliders, but there are only three sliders for volume on Sense, Media, Ringer/Notifications, and Alarms. There's no way to separately change Ringer volume and Notifications volume, nor lock either or both to always vibrate, because every time I change a volume with the volume rockers it turns vibrate off (and before you say just keep going until the vibrate icon shows in the notification bar, I want Ringer AND Vibrate together always).
I've tried Audio Buddy, and some other audio app, and they show separated volumes, but the phone still only sets them as one. So if I slide Notification to be silent but leave Ringer up, notifications still ring.
And now so sit here and Swype this out, my phone keeps "notifying" me over and over that my battery is full.
I'm getting the sense that the only way to escape these moronic decisions by HTC is to root and install a different ROM, which I really don't want to do. :-/

I figured out the issue with the full battery notification, it was an app doing it, so now all I need is a way to separate notification volume from ringer volume.

I'm guessing it is stuck. As I'm typing this, the volume panel keeps popping up. If I try to adjust the volume slider down, it goes right back up. If it hit the down button, it will go away for a minute or two. It also keeps me from being able to put it to sleep. Could it be a software issue?

So I just found out my xoom is the Verizon 3/4G + wifi one but I unlocked and rooted it as the wifi only version. Could that be why I'm getting weird malfunctions with my up volume?
