offline Google maps - Asus Transformer TF700

Hey all. On my phone, i can set Google maps to auto cache, but not on Infinity. Anyone know how i can?

Just tried and it works fine on mt TF700 - what happens why you try?
I'm running Zeus ROM, but I'm pretty sure it worked in stock as well...
EDIT: just realized that you said "auto-cache" - not sure what that means - didn't know that you coould set it up to automatically cache all map data...

Do you have the latest version of Maps on your Infinity? That function was new with the JB announcement and new Maps version.

It's current. I go settings> offline and cache, but it only shows "clear all map tiles"
On phone,, it shows that, AND auto caching.
Running locked, rooted, stock. Waiting on Jelly Bean before unlock.

Ok then yeah, mine is the same way - just "clear all map tiles" - no "auto caching"...
I am using the latest maps app too...

I think that the new maps changed that functionality. Open Maps, go to settings, and make available offline. I'm pretty sure that they updated the offline cache with this function.

wifi forced off and ramdump.log, after NVFlash wipe and install?
Is it just me that's continuing to have ongoing issues with rebooting even after trying complete wipes back to stock, and then NVFlash wipe and install of this latest Prime or ARHD ROMs?
I just NVFlash installed v2.0.1 yesterday, then applied the v2.0.4 update in CWM. Everything seemed fine, I kept applications installed to a bare minimum to test stability, went to bed last night and did not touch the tablet until 11 hours later. It seems that it slept through the night until about 10 minutes before I turned it on, and found that the wifi was completely turned off (had to go into settings and check the "on" box to enable again), and of course that it had just rebooted as there was a ramdump.log file!
The log seems fine other than a line towards the end that is just a bunch of random numbers? Can anyone figure out what went wrong?
http://db.tt/mIUcelsR
Stock ROMs seem to work just fine, but where's the fun in that?
Thanks.
EDIT : could it be possible that the European radio check is causing wacky stuff with use in the United States? I have unchecked it but not sure if this caused the problems.

Google Navigation Crashes.

Hi.
I'm on TeamEOS stable 1.0.0, but this problem have been for some time.
I can start google navigation and write a search destination.
But as soon as the routing starts 'logo in the middle appear' it stops with maps has closed.
Any pointers ?

I´m having this problem too, it Works Perfect till the GPS Satellite connect , the Maps close. this happen till I start using Team EOS Build that was the 17 Know I´m using 22 and still not Workin.
Motorola Xoom MZ605 with Teams EOS utms 22 GApps 10.5
i've tried to clear the cache for the navigation program, but i don't even find it in the app list.
I find map, and can clear the cache, but that does not change anything.
Used Wingray before Everest, and it worked perfect there.
Any pointers is apriciated.

I Just update my Google maps to the last version 6.2.0, and this Crash just stop occurring
So the problem wasn´t the Team EOS Build After all, but an incompatibility of Google Maps to the ICS.
So Just Update it
I used to get this on my Galaxy Nexus.
If I started Navigation through Maps (directions) and then chose Navigation, everything would work fine.
I think a recent update fixed this.
You are absolutly right, it is fixed in the latest update.
Thank's for letting me know...

[Solved] Market not connecting properly

I am getting this issue since morning. Market loads up with base screen, and then from there on messes up by saying "Error retrieving information from the server. [DF-PFA-02]" or something like that. Most common error is "Connection timed out." and shows a Retry button.
Its happening on WiFi too, not just data. I have full signal where I am!!!
Is this happening to anyone else too? Looks like some issue in market app servers.
Things I tried:
1. Clearing market cache
2. Uninstalling updates
3. Rebooting
Neg...just dl from GP and ran an update on a couple of apps both data & me WIFI....no issues sir.

It is updating/installing apps. That's no issue. But I am getting these connectivity issues like about 50% of the times.
Well.. That's what happens on betas... They aren't perfect.
Maybe try reflashing it..

Oh no! I flashed the Zeus Beta only today morning (I've been on Beta since its release and never once had any issue with market).
same problem
hi im having the same problem on sgs2 i9100.. stock rom/firmware, I think it's a market issue, not to do with your custom rom.
for those who don't get an error, try to install "slash'em"
Right. Looks like this issue got resolved.
Yup, seems to have resolved itself.
A quick resolution.
I have found a solution to this issue for GSM phones. The only reason I am posting on a year old thread is this is the first search result for this issue on Google. If this issue does not resolve itself as it did for these guys, do the following:
1. Power Down the phone.
2. Remove the SIM.
3. Power the phone back On.
4. Go to the App or Applications menu and select the All tab to view all installed applications.
5. Find the Google Play services and Google Play Store, clear all data for both of these applications.
6. Start the Play Store and log-in.
7. Power Down the phone and replace the SIM card.
Upon restarting the phone, the Play Store should now work without issue.
How do you log in to the playstore without your sim? Did you connect to wifi?

[Q] Nav no longer speaks the street names for me.

Any ideas why? I'm on jelly bean. It will tell me the lefts and rights, but no street names. I've toggled between the Samsung and Google TTS things and no fix.
It works fine on my nexus 7. It works fine on my girlfriends iPhone and that just pisses me off lol
any ideas? Uninstalled updates and still no go. I use nav every day and the streets names are very helpful to avoid looking at the phone.
anybody??

I am having the same issue. There seems to be a little bit of people reporting it online, but haven't found a solution yet. It seems like it is an issue with Google's TTS engine. Hopefully there is a maps update soon that resolves this.

Few things I have tried, and their results:
1. Cleared Search cache -> Uninstalled Search updates -> Restarted phone
-No change except no longer have Google Now
2. Updated Search back again
3. Cleared Maps cache -> Uninstalled Maps updates -> Restarted phone
-Maps speaks street names, but with the old scary robot voice
4. Updated Maps back again
-Maps stops speaking street names, but keeps scary robot lady voice.
5. Cleared Maps cache again -> restarted phone again
-Maps speaks street names again, but the scary robot lady voice still won't go away.
Clear Maps data and it will resolve the problem. I've noticed this happens every time I fix permissions in Recovery.

Just tried this, and I still have the scary robot voice person. It looks like I have kept street names in the voice navigation though, at least.

I tried everything above and still no go. I have flashed a lot of roms and even though I was back to stock JB, still had the issue. So, I backed up and ODIN'ed back to stock ICS, OTA'ed to JB, and now its working again. Who knows what file was screwed up. Then I unlocked bootloader and rooted, still working.

When I select the Text-to-speech output I only have Samsung TTS as an option?
I found that by formatting, going back to stock, and clean flashing CM10.1 that everything is resolved.

[Q] Dead GPS - stock, CM and EOS

Having some difficulties with the GPS on my TF101. I've done complete wipes and installed the latest stock ROM, a CM variant, and EOS 4 w/ Kat kernel.
At each stage, I attempted to get a fix using Google Maps, then with GPS Status. I tried rooted vs unrooted. I tried using the Kat GPS fix, and with the GPS wipe / download in GPS Status -- all to no avail.
The absolute most I ever see is a single, solitary GPS (getting 0/1 in GPS Status). Never enough to locate my position.
Had someone else who bought a TF101 around the same time as me try it as well. He is running the stock firmware, and has the same issues with the GPS.
Is there any obscure fix that someone here knows about that has solved their GPS issues on the Transformer? Anything else I can try? With my Galaxy S3, I get 9 almost immediately, and it goes to 11 within a few seconds. Is it just that the GPS in the Transformer is full of fail?
If it does not work on complete stock, there is a chance your GPS radio is fubar.
I have no idea how to diagnose this, just a thought.
Look at your GPS.conf file and on the net there is the GPS government website I think it is that tells you what servers to use. Maybe you can compare what your file has versus what the site says.
The file dictates what is will do and how it connects. Programs that show your GPS like agps or others on the play store don't actually edit the file so garbage in garbage out.
