Cyanogenmod 10, activation screen? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey all. I just flashed CM10 9/6 and so far its been fantastic. I get a full 4G signal where I used to only get 1-2 bars 3G. On that subject, every time I boot up the phone, it launches the cellphone activation app, and it is already obviously activated and working as it should. The activation app does nothing when ran and is just an annoyance. How do I get it to stop launching?
Thanks.

I'm not sure, I'm sure someone will help you out here, but meanwhile you could always try to clear cache and dalvik in CWM and or fix permissions first.

Hmm guessing its just one of those random bugs, you could try reflashing CM10

I agree, or at least do a factory reset/data wipe on it.

this has been happening to me as well, just use the 4 corner trick to get rid of it, the phone will still work

Random restarts.

I get 1-2 reboots a day. A couple lock ups happen too. Anyone else? Is it normal?

It's definitely not normal. Try wiping fresh and installing only necessary apps then test again. If the issue persists trade it in for a new Infuse.

My wife and I both get it on our two new Infuses. Mine pretty much happens when I am browsing... It will lock up vibrate a few times and basically reboot... Pretty frustrating... And I don't think wiping it clean will help since this happen on both of our phones

I've had my Infuse for a week now and it's been great....no reboots of any kind. No real bugs to complain about, though I have noticed it can lag quite a bit when looking at mms'.

Problem with restarts had been referred to SD cards. It is not always relevant, as such behaviour used to happen even on card-free phones. My problems started just after update to Mango, what made phone practically unusable.
I tried and seems succesfully solved problem in following way:
- connect phone to Zune
- click on phone, then settings
- choose RESERVED SPACE position
- change with slider from default 1% to 20%
- apply, disconnect
My phone, with Micro SD, stopped crazy behaviour, f.ex. during making photo, using apps. So far so good.
So maybe, either Samsung or MS had screwed up default settings of phone and use of ROM/RAM upon processes.
Solution can be applicable to Focus S and Omnia 7 too.
Good luck!

[Q] Freezes up

my phone freezes up multiple times a day and i have to take out the battery in order to get it to work. Does anyone else have this problem?
What are you running
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
I have not experienced that. A bit of information might help others to possibly help you, though. Can you tell us what ROM you're using, if the problem started recently, if it started after you installed a certain app, if you're over clocking or under clocking, and if you've tried to do a factory data reset?
Im running stock. The last time i tried to install a rom i ended up with the picture in the attachment. So i took it to the local T-Mobile kiosk and they replaced it for me. i re-rooted it but didnt rom it at all. And its been like this since i got the replacement phone. never had the problem before. (this was a week ago)
Pretty picture. Kidding, of course. Reminds me of messing with interlaced graphics on my old Amiga.
If it's been doing it since you got it chances are it's probably a hardware issue. I've not heard of rooting causing issues like that. Did you install any apps after you got it, specifically anything that runs/syncs in the background?
Nothing i didnt have on before. umm.. Go SMS and Launcher, Widget Locker...
I'd go the factory data reset route & not install any apps for a day or so and see how it runs. If all is OK, start reinstalling your apps 1 x 1, give each app a day to see if the problem starts up.
If you do a factory data reset and it's still doing it, then it's probably faulty hardware.
Yeah try a factory reset and see how that does. The rainbow screen looks like a gingerbread rom without the correct bootloaders.

I used to have that problem all the time when i was stock... New ROM and it went bye bye...
Hah that picture you got there reminds me of when i stupidly flashed a gb kernel on froyo... still fixed it and matter of factly I'm using the same device right now were all newbs at some point, don't let it discourage you, just take it as a lesson learned and be more careful next time

What do you mean by lag? Like your phone stalls and lag when opening/closing app drawer or scrolling app drawer and home screen? Or browser lagging?
I've never had this problem. But you can retry flashing the rom but before doing so wipe data/cache/davlik and format system.

I mean that it starts lagging overall. Everything I try to open it takes forever and sometimes it's so slow I can actually see some system animations frame by frame. I've the issue with stock software(no root) and after I've rooted. I sure hope it's not a hardware issue. Wi-Fi works it's just making my phone way slow and it's downloading via Wi-Fi...
Something else I've noticed-once in awhile when I try to turn of Wi-Fi it will say there is an error and it won't turn on-have to reboot the phone and then it works...but still would slow down my phone....
so if you're not on wi-fi the phone is fine?
What rom are you running currently, and stock kernel or no?

Has to be a hardware issue. Fresh out of the box shouldn't be like that.

The only thing you can try is a custom kernel on a different rom, as the 2.3.4 rom has no kernels besides the stock one. I doubt it though since it is like that from out of the box.
Thanks guys. I might try and ask for another replacement phone from T-Mobile then....sounds like hardware problem....

DAMN, wish I would have seen this earlier. I thought it was just my phone or that I was doing something wrong. spend several hours trying to figure out what was going on! I finally gave up earlier today and called it quits on the theme anyway. dont need it, just dont like the clock centered in beanstock R2. Bean 3.1 and v5 have the clock to the right but I didn't get as battery life with them. back to R2 now with no theme.
What specific interactions are causing the 4g issues? I have both and still have a very strong 4g signal ...

using phoneinfo to change it from LTE/CDMA/EVDO to anything else, you can switch off it fine but if you try and change it back then it won't go back and will be stuck at CDMA auto prl.
Is there anyway to fix it?

This theme is kick a$$, I hope that a fix is coming soon. Right now I have not played with phoneinfo yet and still have 4g. Everything seems to be running fine and Google Wallet is working too. The only thing I see that gives me a hard time is when I try wifi off, I have to reboot the phone to get wifi back on. But that's it, tethering is works, data works, phone is fast, calls are clear and the theme is great. Thank you for the great theme!!!!!!! Hoping for a fix soon for others....

I think its an issue with all Bean Roms. Even on R2 it was an issue. its the main reason I switched to synergy. Now I'm back on R2 because I like it better than synergy. I'm just running the R2 without the theme. wasn't huge on the center clock at first but I'm adjusting to like it.

Saaaame issue. I tried going in to recovery, wiping caches and dirty flashing the rom again but it didn't work. Then I tried wiping data & caches and I reflashed the rom and it's STILL stuck on CDMA auto (PRL)...ugh.
The worst part is that I was just messing around with it, I didn't have a specific reason to change it.

Any idea what's causing this

It's like my radio sleeps sometimes. This screen shot shows no data. Once I wake my phone data reconnects. I don't think this is caused by no signal.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Looks like you live in a so so signal area, the closer it is to green then the greater your signal is. I would think that's an issue with the towers in your area cuz as you know the signal fluctuates often even while sleep.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Thanks. I don't understand why it shows no signal when there was signal. As soon as I woke the phone it reconnected to the tower. There's a delay when it switches from 4g, 3g and 1x....This long area of red was probably the phone stuck in the delay between switching? While trying to submit this post I just lost data in a strong 4G area..... I don't get it.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
How often within a day/week does this occur? That's still odd behavior that you lose signal or notice signal degradation while sleeping.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
This happens once or twice per day. Seems to happen in areas with less than great signal, that's why I think it is maybe getting stuck in the transition between 3g and 1x. No idea why it stays stuck once I move to an area with better signal.... Seems like the radio is sleeping until I wake the device.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium

Are you stock? if no, what ROM are you running? Are you rooted? what apps are installed.
If you have CWM recovery, i would try to wipe cache and reboot, see if it helps at all?? if you don't have much installed, i would say do a full system restore...
one other thing, are you losing data, ie; not getting text and or phone calls? Also, check to see if you have any battery savers checked. Might be just a method of saving battery by shutting off data until it is needed.

As far as I know I am not missing phone calls or texts. Power saver is turned off. I am basically running the phone the way it came brand new (not many apps, no root, no unlock.... Yet).
Thanks for the replies. Any chance a factory reset would help? My mute/vibrate functions in settings do not mute the phone either... Still get audible notifications and phone rings like normal. Unrelated to the data issue but still weird for a new stock phone.

I'm not going to lie. I don't know if it will help or not. But if you are stock and got nothing to lose it would give it a shot. Can't hurt? Also, as others have said, it sounds ds like it could be because of signal strength. A lot of variables though.

Now before I say this I want to make it clear that I am not representing Verizon or Samsung in any way with this post, I am just updating the users on what I have identified from the test of my device on this reported issue.... So with that said you can take this accordingly..
Ok everyone about the reported connection issues reported, I recently have been able to duplicate the signaling issue reported on my S3 and it appears to be miner for me at the moment but I can say that it is present.. I recently attempted to isolate the bug and I learned that when I placed it in my test rig to monitor the device in the weakest area in my house the software would temporarily powers down the radio for a few seconds that causes the device to loose all connections (Wifi, Bluetooth, 4G and some times also the network connection), this only happens in a weak connection area and it does appear it could be a software related bug with how the radio drivers handles switching the connection from one connection to another.
From the test results this does not appear to be a hardware issue but I do agree that this could be a pain for a user on the border of a 3G and 4G connection because any connection change causes a crash or radio and force restart.
I have reported this to CS and it appears to be a situation that is being looked into and a solution is possibly in the works... Eventho this isnt a major issue for me at this time, I hope to see a update to address this soon.

This is frustrating. I have lost signal now two times and needed a reboot to get it back. When I did, I was not only losing data, but phone also. I would get this barrage of texts and missed calls.
I am rooted and unlocked, so there in itself could lie a problem, but it comes without warning and the phone appears to be working. Would the SIM card really effect that?
