<< HTC HD2 >> with mwakiousRUNNINGrom® v.10 ROM no Internet Access - General Questions and Answers

Hi all!
've Tried both versions, CLK and MAGLDR. Unfortunately, in both versions, the Internet does not work. Network is enabled, but no connection possible.
WiFi works well.
with 1GB ext4 as 2nd Partition of 16 GB SD is available, have tried 200mb/5mb cache and 220mb/5mb cache, hard and soft reset, but no success.
HTC-HD2 is a 512 MB of Germany T-Mobile, SIM ist T-Mobile too.
Very sad, the ROM would like to use. Any idea what it could be?
Thanks for your help
Here the Link from the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282281&highlight=internet

Manual setup?
Hi!
I've had the same problem several times with other ROMs as well. I found an article that described manual connection to the internet.
I had to set up the following manually:

APN: telenor

Thanks for the answer. I've now tried it. But the APN settings match and it's not the same. Meanwhile another ROM've tried to make it go smoothly at first attempt.
Only I do not like the ROM. So .... I'm looking for further

Try port another ROM

It reads very well, thanks for the tip!
However, there are a few problems for me:
First I'm a newbie
Second My English is not good
I understand, for example, not following instructions from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28679487&postcount=3
2) esp for clk users please flash the touch cwm beta 8 attached below, using the leoimg.nbh file from hd2tool kit in bootloader mode, when the phone restarts keep pressing back key ,you'll be in clk settings

Previously I used to programming HD2 Toolkit 4.3 (Recovery Version TouchRC1-, CLK-version 1.4.0.1) and then I flashed "cLK_1.5.0rc1.nbh" over it. Is it the same (touch cwm beta8)? And where can I find the "leoimg.nbh" File?

EU & Tmobile with a sd ext Configuration:
recovery = 7 MB
misc = 1 MB
boot = 5 MB

How can I cache and recovery set to 7 MB? In HD2 Toolkit is only 5 MB or 44 MB cache. Or I have to do in the recovery mode?
I would love to use the ROM, because I fail at the moment. Can you help me here please? That would be great, thanks!:highfive:

success!
ok, I've read a lot and learned even more. And so I could install the ROM "Team Blue Droid SENSE 3.5,HTC One X MODS" as well. It is really very nice and quickly. And the mobile internet is working fine.:good:
Thank you very much for the tip!

I've done BigStorage 1.12.00WWE - upgrade experience sharing

I finally can successfully upgrade my O2 mini to version ROM 1.12.00 patched with 27MB BigStorage (ROM verion: 1.12.00WWE, ROM date: 05/28/05, Radio:1.12.00, Protocol: 1337.42, ExtROM: n/a <- of course!! ). Although I stuck for quite some time but finally I got it!!! I just want to share some experience with you folks. If you are stuck in either one method, try the others! [I used method 3 to do the patching]
1.12 ROM image from http://www.buymobilephones.net/romfile_download_s100.ihtml
Currently, I recognize that there are 3 ways to patch BigStorage,
1/ Anansky method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20043)
- currently it can only manage 1.11wwe version
- my experience: seems that 416 (DEC) is the magic number
2/ MKS mehtod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=22582)
- apperently can handle all verison of ROMs
- but some guys (me too) can't use this method at all. No matter what ROM I was using (shipped, patched), no matter what I did on the rom (not masked, 416byte..), the problem was that it stuck at BootLoader mode after 100% flashed. I think it may be hardware related (mine is O2 mini, original ROM is traditional chinese 1.06).
- my experience: if you have upgraded your Magician using official AKU, then extract the image and run this patch progam. If you are using upgraded ROM from other sources, then you have to upload you own ROM, copy the first 416byte to the upgraded ROM, and then apply this patch program.
3/ Dr. Chair / Talent (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=23250)
- apparently can handle all version of ROM-
- my experience: key point is to search 2 locations "02 00 00 80 00 20 20 00 00" and replace them by "02 00 00 b8 01 20 20 00 00". Also, after flashing the machine, the first start up time will take a bit longer (mine is 4 minutes), be patient!
Other general sharing:
- try to use external card reader
- pressing Bootloader mode will immediately erase all the information (except data in rom) of your PPC, no matter you have it patched or not. Further, BigStorage patching will erase data in "storage" (rom) as well.
- when using HexEditor (or so), be careful if it's the DEC or HEX position
- On-screen checksum failure, ntrw write failure can be ignored
From others:
Koksie said:
I found that trying to use the ntrw program thorugh an USB hub did not work, all copied ROM files from my SD card would turn up as 0kb. Be sure to plug the card reader directly into the USB port of the PC, then the full ROM wil be copied.

Me too. Try to search " 02 00 00 80 00 02 02 00", as some other post said, there are only two searches required. This can be applied to 1.11WWE and 1.11 Chinese rom too.
1.12 is faster than 1.11 so far I have seen, bluetooth functions fine.
Please, could anyone tell where to find the 1.12 or upload it?
I am sorry to my previous post, the numbers to search should be
02 00 00 80 00 20 20 00 00

I got problem trying to do BigStorage
hi there,
i have successfully upgrade my ROM to v1.11 and now i'm having trouble upgrade the BigStorage, i'm in the stage where i need to backup the original ROM, i have follow these instruction below:
Backup original ROM:
1. Cancel USB in ActiveSync on your PC <important!>
2. Put Mini into the boot loader mode (hold both on/off and camera buttons at the same time while resetting). <you need to
hold all three buttons for several seconds.>
3. Insert empty SD card to Mini.
4. Connect Mini to PC through USB.
5. Run romupdate.exe on pc.
6. Select “\\.\WCEUSBSH001” in port settings. In the popup windows, enter “d2s” and press enter.
Click to collapse
Up to step 6, that's where my problem come... I can't select any “\\.\WCEUSBSH001” in port settings, all I can select is COM1 or COM2...
Someone told me to end the process wcescomm.exe in task manager but it doesn't help either...
Now my mini is in the "boot loader mode", anyone can help me to re-flash it back to normal?
Please help. Thank you for your time.

Just uploaded to the FTP :
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Magician/mksBigStorage112.rar
this is the file I downloaded from the FTP a few days ago, but seems some1 has deleted it.
It must be noted that this is ROM 1.12 with Radio 1.11.
If you'd like install it don't forget to edit the first 416bytes with the one from yr original ROM
good luck.

You missed step 1.
No need to end the process for WCESCOMM.EXE. Just go to the ActiveSync icon on the system tray, Connection Settings, and uncheck "Allow USB connection..."
method using .nb1 file to upgrade OS ?
May I ask how exactly to use .nb1 file to upgrade the device?
Re: I got problem trying to do BigStorage
BeyondtheTech, after that I did try to do but the problem still there...
this boot loader mode continue to goes on until the power depleted... then I charge my Mini and I try to switch on again and my Mini back to normal (like factory default setting, just like when you hard-reset) my ROM version is 1.11
So currently my Mini is running now without BigStorage patch

If your problem is can't selecting any “\\.\WCEUSBSH001” in port settings, then try
1/ using other USB port
2/ rebooting the PC
3/ use another PC to try again.
PC USB recognization is not as good as we think and it depends of OS, USB hub, hardware, drivers installed...

===== How to repair Huawei C8150 with non-working 3G internet =====
Download the stock ROM. Huawei removed all ROMs for C8150/U8150 from their site, and stock ROM for U8150 will refuse to install onto C8150, here's the only ROM for C8150 I've found across Internet:
www.4shared.com/file/la-2GIpG/C8150-Bakrie.html
www.4shared.com/zip/d8MGuLlf/C8150-Indonesia-AHA.html

www.mediafire.com/?p0j6igxm76wmd9y
stupid forum won't allow me to post links
Put the file "UPDATE.APP" to the directory "dload" on your SD card, power off the phone, then power it up while holding Volume Up button and End Call (red) button. The phone will be updated to the stock ROM (and all your personal data will be erased).
If you don't like Indonesian user interface for any reason you may select different language by clicking the button in the lower-right corner in the startup dialog.
Next you'll need to enter APN for your cell network operator.
The phone is locked to the operator - it will delete any APN with MCC and MNC code not matching Indonesia and AHA. However the 3G works even with wrong MCC/MNC, at least for my operator.
Here's instructions for Ukrainian operator Intertelecom:
Go to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile -> APNs. There will be two APNs, click the first one. Enter following values:
APN: #777
Proxy - clear this field.
Username: IT
Password: IT
DO NOT change MCC and MNC fields.
Authentication: PAP or CHAP
APN type: *
Press Menu -> Save. Internet should be working now.
I did not try those instructions for different ROMs, but I think they might work.

Hmm, I must be doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what it is. I followed what was posted in the OP, but I don't seem to have some, if not all, of the features such as the 14-toggles or the extended power menu. It seems like it's just the stock ROM, all the stock features of the UCLE2 release included. I wiped data/factory reset, cache, /system, and dalvik cache a few times like most ROMS for this phone suggest. Then I flashed the linked UCLE2 modem, as stated in the OP, and onto the ROM itself. I rebooted and let the phone sit for about 10 minutes as usual and it broke my root. I flashed the provided fix for that several times, but to no avail. And that's where I'm at now.
EDIT: I didn't notice this before, but the provided root fix gives me this error when I try to flash: E:Error in /sdcard/ROMs/Smooth Ice UCLE2/icsSuperuser-3.0.7.-efghi-signed.zip (Status 0) Installation aborted.
I thought that it might be a corrupt download, but I tried downloading a few times more and transferring to my phone, but it gives me the same error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to have the toggles and the extended power menu.
Thanks.
EDIT 2: I probably should have asked this before, but does the RC1 include all of these features or just the RC2 update, which I know isn't out yet?

With the superuser zip you've got to keep flashing it over and over til it installs successfully and I think its only R2 that has the extended settings and the 14 toggles

RingPlus provisioning on Cyanogenmod

hey guys,
I'm currently running CM13 nightlies and want to do a clean install without flashing over my current setup. is there any way i can retain my provisioning while flashing a new cm build? i tried wiping and installing a new nightly build. everything booted fine, but the phone was not provisioned. even after flashing mvno slayer, the phone wouldn't register to the network.
I have to flash back to stock and then flash cm if I want a fresh install?
Provisioning *should* persist through flashes... unless you're changing providers.
I was able to get my device provisioned for Sprint on stock when I used it, and then was able to flash any ROM I wanted. Never needed to go back to stock, but I always stayed on Sprint.

technically it's ringplus (updated title), but I don't think being an MVNO makes the process any different. So if I wiped and flashed a new CM build but couldn't get the phone to register, what can I do? Trying to avoid going through the whole process of RSDlite back to stock and starting from complete scratch...

I'm not following - was it working before, and the act of updating the ROM to a newer build of CM broke the provisioning?
Never heard of that before, but have you considered it's the update? Have you tried restoring a backup? You do have a backup...?

Yes, everything was working fine. I wipe, then flash a new build of CM, but it doesn't register with the network. Restoring my backup has everything working again. It's just that the rom has been quite sluggish and I wanted a fresh start. I don't know if it was always like this or because of an app. That's why I'm starting over

Just try to clean wipe the working ROM, see if that works.
If it does, I'd say that update of CM is the issue.
Did you ever find a solution? I am having the same problem. If I install the latest CM 13 the phone no longer connects to the cell network. Stupidly, I did not do any backup, so the only option I have to go back to the stock ROM. With the stock ROM the phone connects to to the network with no problem.

What about flashing an older build of CM13?
What were you running before you flashed the latest CM13?

To answer your questions, I was running CM13 I can't find older builds of CM13 that work. The only ones I find are relatively new.
I managed to get voice to work. I still don't have data. These are the steps I took. I am not sure all of them are necessary. But at least now voice is working.
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Click on the 3 vertical dot menu on top right
Select Radio Band -> PCS (1900 MHZ)
Back button <|
Set Preferred Network Type to LTE/CDMA (auto PRL)
Back button <|
Back Button <|
Settings -> Cellular Network Settings ->Preferred Network Type -> CDMA+LTE/EVDO
Settings -> Cellular Network Settings->CDMA subscription -> NV
Reboot

OK, now I got 3G data.
I changed
Settings -> Cellular Network Settings ->Preferred Network Type -> CDMA/EVDO/GSM/WCDMA
Reboot
Now if I could only get 4G without losing voice I'd be all set. Little by little...

If I go to Settings -> Cellular Network Settings ->Access Point Names, I get a message that says "APN settings are not available for this user". Is that normal? I seem to remember I had a list of APNs.
I've got the exact same problem with the CM13 nightlies on Ting. I've tried a bunch of them all the way back to April and can't get LTE to work on any of them.
If I go back to the stock ROM, it works fine. If I go back to CM11, it works fine.
I don't know if its related or not, but in the SatStat app, it shows a bunch of dashes under LTE and some long numbers like 21474 83647. This line disappears and reappears every few seconds while the app is open.

If it works in CM11 but not CM13, then something changed... Please submit logs to the CM maintainer (radio logs will probably be necessary). Of course make sure the correct settings have been applied.

Following this procedure allowed me to use Voice, SMS MMS and internet (both 3G and 4G) on PAC-ROM and builds of Cyanogen Mod up to and including 12.1. I have not tried 13.
Code:
1. click "Mobile networks" to access the settings
2. Data enabled checked
3. Data Roaming unchecked
4. Battery Saving Mode unchecked
5. Set preferred network type to: CDMA+LTE/EvDo
6. System select - set roaming mode to Home Only
7. Set CDMA subscription to NV
8. Create a New APN with these values:
a. Name: Red Pocket
b. APN: n.r6.ispsn
c. Proxy: Not set
d. Port: Not set
e. Username: ##########@redpocket.sprintpcs.com
replace ########## with your red pocket mobile phone number
e. Password: Not set
f. Server: Not set
g. MMSC: http://mms.sprintpcs.com
h. MMS proxy: 68.28.31.7
i. MMS port: 80
j. MCC: 310
k. MNC: 120
l. Authentication type: Not set
m. APN type: default, mms
n. APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
o. APN roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6
p: Unspecified
q. MVNO type: None
r. MVNO value: Not set
s. save changes
9. Set the Red Pocket APN as your active one.
10. reboot
Net10 APN Settings?
I am giving you how I went from point A to B in this post. My next post will be the correct settings for my new Sprint mvno: Net10.
After getting voice, data, sms and mms working in the rooted stock ROM, I install the xposed framework for Android 4. Reboot
Open Play store and install "Hidden Android Settings" and "NoHiddenPasswords". NoHiddenPasswords is an xposed tool, but does not show up if you do a search in the xposed manager app. Open xposed and Enable NoHiddenPasswords. Reboot.
Back-up your tweaked Stock ROM with TWRP.
Install Cyanogen. When Cyanogen boots up, go to Settings-"Mobile Networks", my educated guess is that the settings for
Data enabled
Data Roaming unchecked
Battery Saving Mode unchecked
Preferred network type: CDMA+LTE/EvDo
System select - set roaming mode to Home Only
Set CDMA subscription to NV
I can at least confirm those work with the two mvno's I have used: Red Pocket & Net10.
The first thing I tried was to the same settings as I showed in my prior post.
I tried changing 8.e. to ##########@net10.sprintpcs.com. Then I tried ##########@sprintpcs.com. Neither of those worked, so I knew I needed to find the value using some tool in the Stock ROM. I googled Android APN settings app, and found "Hidden Android Secrets". It has a APN settings viewer. When I looked at the ones in my phone, I saw some password fields that it would not show me without the help of NoHiddenPasswords.
Then I used Notepad++ on my laptop to copy the information shown in each access point in the stock rom on my phone. I did a new tab for each access point.
It seemed pretty obvious that at least 8e would need changed.
I tried changing 8e to ##########@net10.sprintpcs.com
I then tried ##########@sprintpcs.com
Voice works & SMS worked, but no data nor MMS over 4g.
I notice that none of the access points in my stock ROM has any reference to n.r6.ispsn. There is one with an APN n.t9.ispsn. That is very similar so I changed 8.b. to that. Miracle, I now have LTE data!
Unfortunately, though, the MMS is till not working over LTE.
In my stock ROM, there is one and only one APN with APN Type: default, mms
BTW, there is no space after the comma in the stock ROM, so I changed that.
I merged its values into my APN.
This did not kill my data; so, I tried sending and receiving MMS. Tada, that's it.
