yellow tint mark in top left corner - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I my galaxy sl is having a yellowish tint. it appears in the left top (near the volume buttons). it will appear when the phone gets hot, and dissappears when its not hot. that appears in the form of a small arc, and ithas the same length that of our volume button.
what is it?? how to remove ? can we replace d screen? how much cost

It sounds like your screen is damaged. Was there some time that your SL got wet?
Anyway, it could also be a software problem. I had a similar prob on my S2, i flashed a different firmware and it fixed it. Perhaps it will also fix your problem. If it does not fix your problem, then you must send it to the customer service (lucky if you're still on warranty, it'll save you a lot of money)
I suggest you ask your nearest service center to get the exact price of the screen replacement, in the Philippines, it costs P8000
Hope this helps

[Q] Is anyone else getting black spots on the screen?

I got my Infuse when it released 4 months ago and I've been in love with it ever since. Just last month I have noticed a huge black spot on my screen. The spot is located on the bottom right hand side of the screen (the app/widget spot just above where the applications app). It has a diameter of about 1cm and is only extremely noticeable when the screen is dark. I know this is not a software problem since I have taken pictures with the camera and the spot is not in the pictures and I have taken SS of the screen and the spot refuses to show up on those SS also. It is a hardware problem and I'm getting worried that I am not the only one.
I've been trying to ignore it but my paranoia is getting worse since the spot is so huge. Upon closer inspection (looking at a black picture), I've been able to make out a LOT of black spots on the screen too. These black spots are not as big as the one HUGE spot but are definitely noticeable now that I can see them. These spots have a diameter of a mm and there must be at least 20 of these black spots. I've asked if my gf could see the huge spot and she was able to see it and soon after she could spot all of the tiny black spots too.
I want to do a manufacturer's warranty but it's a little too soon and I'm afraid it will be difficult for Samsung to reproduce (assuming that they are lazy and just don't want to help me) and also because I can't take SS of it so I don't have the proof unless they see it for themselves. Please help me!
I wish I could take a SS for you guys to prove it but I don't have a camera that would be good enough to capture these things. My phone is probably the only camera that I have.
Sounds like an LCD leak. If it is, it will probably only get worse. Try to use your warranty or insurance.

Go ahead and do a manufacturers warranty.
Samsung doesn't care, as long as it's not your fault (LCD leak isn't your fault, it can happened on it's own), they'll repair it (most likely by putting a new SAMOLED+ screen on your phone, they have millions).
Also, it's never to early to do a warranty, if there's something wrong with something you own, you should always have the manufacturer fix it.
LCD leak on an OLED phone....?
Whatever the problem is, I suggest claiming a warranty. I saw on the net where a guy had the same issue on a sii and they fixed it.

Yellow spots on my display

I have square yellow spot on bottom of screen above touch sensitive keys and I can see it on white and grey screen color. Yesterday I also notice round yellow spot in upper right corner of display and it is slightly less noticable than one on the bottom but still annoying. What to do, send phone to service, will they repair this, will it help and is there any help with this. I read that I need to set brightness to 75-80 percent, it sometimes helps and sometimes dont because I still see yellow spots. Crazy. Is there anyone with this kind of situation and how do you guys handle it?
Thanks.
I have too...

I think that you somehow ( by pressing power button as you mentioned) broke the display :/ so the only solution is to change the display by yourself or samsung custom service but i hope that im wrong!

If your screen turns out to be really broken, don't be afraid of switching it yourself.
Just don't make the same mistake I made (twice). Buy the new display from a store that's specialised in mobile spareparts, not from ebay. If the display doesn't look exactly like the one you took out of your phone, send it back. I had a bent and scratched one and one that had lower resolution and no brightness control. Insane, who hopes to make profit from that?
This page shows you how to disassemble a G3: http://www.formymobile.co.uk/i5800disassembly.php I recommend using a guitar pick for all steps.

thanks for trying to help turboblaz, but i have already disassembled the handset and inspected it from all sides, there is no bleeding ,crack or scratch of any kind on it and moreover the placement of the power button is such that it wont harm the display even if its pressed with a moderate to hard pressure.

thanks martialaw ,yeah i know hw to dissamble this handset ,actually i hve done it twice before, once for replacing the menu key button and the other time for replacing the audio jack. moreover i know a good shop which sells good mobile spare parts
i had checked it with the service centre , the price of the audio jack there was 650 inr along with the replacement so i bought it from that spare shop ,it costed meh around 150 inr n works perfectly fine even after 6 months. So im guessing that the price of the lcd display at the service centre would be around 1500 inr and at the local market it would be around 500 inr,but i am just worried about its contrast and brightness as u mentioned and moreover what if the display is fine and the problem is with the board or other things.

sounds familiar. I spent 1200 inr on ebay, twice, both crap. Then 2100 inr in a proper shop, which finally looked like the original part on the circuit area. Dunno if those prices can be compared, I converted them from Euros for you. Go for a original part and try to keep the option to give it back if it turns out the error lies within another component. gl&hf

[Q] Samsung Galaxy SIII with Cracked Screen (Craigslist)

Hi there. I have a pebble blue16gb S3 that's currently on the fritz. Some people are recommending a jtag service to force a stock rom back onto my s3. I've got others that are telling me my emmc chip is probably bad and that a jtag probably won't help my issue at all. Anyway, I've been cruising craigslist and I found a 16gb pebble blue s3 that has a cracked screen. In the pictures I was sent the crack is right down the middle. The guy selling it says the LCD display wont show up at all, but in some pictures the back button and the other button light up as well as the blue notification light on top were working in the picture. He's selling the device for $90. I checked the IMEI he gave me on swappa.com/ESN and its said its ready for activation. I asked the craigslist seller how the device was damaged and he said he got into a car accident going 60mph and he was hit by a drunk driver and the phone hit the dash. I have a buddy of mine who is willing to take the motherboard from this phone and switch it out with my phone, but he expressed concern that the fact the LCD won't display anything and he thinks the motherboard may have suffered some kind of damage in the crash causing the device not to display. He also noted that he has seen phones with cracks all over and the lcd still displays something. Can anyone shed some light as to how much impact a Verizon SIII motherboard can absorb and if its possible for the screen to totally not work, but the board itself be fine? Thank you very much!
Im not sure if this was the right thread to post this question either, but I hope it is. Thanks!
Also just wondering, is the notification light at the top and the lighted back button and the function button by home at the bottom run through the same connection that controls the display?

I repair these devices and I'll say that you should just stay away from an S3 with a blacked out LCD. The repair for the LCD is about $300. Just a cracked glass may run you anywhere from $80-$150 for repair. The motherboard could be damaged, but there is really no way to tell unless the screen is on. I doubt it would be broken, though... I would look at it to see if the metal frame around the screen were bent or warped. If not, I doubt it would be. If the soft keys light up, you should also hear the volume turn up.... this checks to see if the speaker works.
But with a busted LCD... too much cost to fix that and not worth it. May as well buy a new one.

So should I just pass on this craigslist phone? All I wanted was the board from it and switch it out with my motherboard that is on the fritz.

Lightbleeding

Does anybody here has this little problem with lightbleeding from sides of the screen? On mine I have a little portion on the top center of the screen that has this problem. Do you think I can return it as a defective phone and get a new one without this "problem"?

Yes! you can return it as a defective phone and get a new one without this problem if you are under warranty , since this is a hardware issue (assuming it hasn't been dropped or tampered)
Yes I have it too in the upper center of the screen. But it was noticeable in complete white screen and highest brightness settings like only during bootanimation. So I didn't opt for a replacement.
