Dear all:
Can any owner tell me if US version of note 10.1 supports Chinese or Japanese Language? If not, I am wondering why Samsung takes them out from US version. UK version supports those two languages..
Thanks a lot.

i want to know if i can install chinese into the US ver. b/c my dad cant read eng
Google is pretty good with Asian languages. I have Korean on my galaxy nexus through the Google play Store. They also have pinyin (Chinese) and Japanese.
Just search for "Google IME" in the play Store.
What I need and am frustrated about: German input language
Note:this is only input language, not interface language. That should be trickier I think.

Japanese is compatible in the international LTE version (SM-P605), but NOT in the Wi-Fi-only version (SM-P600).

Hi everybody,
I'm in China now and I bought Huawei Honor2 (U9508) phone from Huawei sell desk at Huawei Campus. The device has gr8 specifications and its price is cheap (about 300$). The OS is Android ICS and only English and Chinese languages are fixed. Beside this the device can't run Playstore! while another store from Huawei called "HiSpace" is installed (Sucked!) and almost all applications are in Chinese .
My questions are:
1- Can we run regular Android ICS like other devices do so as all languages can be supported like (Arabic, German, English) and the others?
2-Can we run Playstore on this Huawei Honor 2?
Many Thanks.
Ahmed.

Good luck.
thanks
I read in a few Threads of the Moto X forum, the Verizon 4.4 Kitkat Software includes addtionial System languages like German, Italien, ...
So my question is if there are other system languages in the kitkat update for the Droid familiy too?
I'm from Germany and ordered a Droid Mini from the US. I want to use touchless control with my german language. I know the Moto X is available in the end of february in germany, but i don't like Amoled Displays because of the Burn in Effect which i had on my S2.
Thank you for your help!
Sorry for being impatiant, but is there nobody who has a Droid Mini with Kitkat who could look quickly in his language settings and answer this simple question?
So my Droid Mini arrived in Germany and i checked it in my own. The answer is YES. It supports many languages including Herman of course. Perfect sized phone with nice features working fully in germany excluding LTE.
Hi

Any keyboard from the playstore supporting languages will be fine. I'd suggest TouchPal-X as its really the best in my opinion You can install about 100 different languages within the app i suppose.

I recently bought a vivo nex s from eBay it’s the Chinese version. I love the phone but noticed I can’t update my apps that I download off the play store. Should I sell it on eBay and just get the global or keep the China version and use APK mirror
I heard the app situation you're experiencing is due to the last update Vivo released.
Us with international models are not experiencing this as that update hasn't rolled out to us yet.
One solution is to download Aptoid and use that for application download and updates.
Under any circumstance i would opt for the international version if I were you.

- Vivo account only with chinese number phone
- Not Play Store preinstalled
- Too much trouble with notifications and Permissions
- A lot of stuff chinese garbage
and more...
With time and patient all works, but it isn´t easier that Global Rom.

So it would just be easier to get the global Rom then? What about Jovi, i have heard that that's only in Mandarin? Or does the global Rom just use google assistant?

For me its better Global ROM. In Global, dont use Jovi, instead use Google assistant.

Is the phone preopened for inspection?
I have the Chinese vivo nex that I ordered from tradingshenzen, and I already set it up that everything works, and all Chinese crap is to a minimum. However there's a rumor that the global version has better hardware like better fingerprint sensor, is that true? Is it recommended to switch to global or not. Here is how mine looks like btw https://youtu.be/uhoxGY7MGUY
Is the Global version of the vivo nex s the international version
I recently just purchased a Vivo nex S on gear best and the description says it's the Global version or Global rom is that considered the international version?!?!

Yes because when you push the button on the left hand side it opens google lens by default instead of jovy (chinese assistant)
is there any possibility to know it´s global or chinese version without opening the packging?
or better say: how can i say it´s global version without turning the phone on. is it possible to see it via serial number, or included accesoires? the packaging?
Gearbest's global version is the global version. I have it, I know.
Get it too, it's a wonderful phone.
So the Global version is the international version which comes pee installed with Google and less of the Chinese app clutter?

Yes, not a single Chinese character on this phone since I have it. I installed everything I need and did all the settings I wish. I even didn't bother to uninstall anything with adb, because there's nothing to bother about.
Really a wonderful phone.

That sounds great,
Interested in buying it but I wasn't unsure about the whole DRM L1 thing where you're unable to play protected content such as Netflix, Amazon on Full HD and only plays at SD or 500p. Wanted your input on that also does the global version come with NFC? willing to sacrifice the NFC so not really a problem.
So I'm in China where the Chinese model is about to come out, and I wanna get it, except I'm concerned that I would be unable to use google software (namely google play, maps, email, and syncing contacts). I recall some Chinese phones won't allow google services to be installed, rendering all those things useless, even with a VPN. Anyone know if the Chinese version can support the installation of google apps?
Likewise, I read in one of the threads here that the CN version might be rootable. Is there any way to confirm this, or has it been confirmed?
And finally, does it have a ton of Chinese apps pre-installed and somewhat burnt into the OS, so they can't be uninstalled?
I know some people already have it, as there are a lot of reviews of it online, but none of them address those questions. Any help? Thanks!
Chinese version will not have locked bootloader, it will be rootable. On the other hand, you are going to void your warranty for unlocking bootloader.
For Google play services, it's all included in Chinese variant. You don't need to worry about it.
Finally for the Chinese bloatwares, I believe you can uninstall them due to some Chinese regulations... If not, I believe you can flash HK rom on it to get rid of Chinese only features.
great

Wow for sure? Out of curiosity, do you have this phone already? I believe ya and all, just curious how you can know for sure. I'm just kinda shocked to think that the Chinese version of the phone would ALREADY include google services - I can't think of any phone I've ever had all these years (I've lived in China for about 20 years) that included google services. That's amazing. Thanks a ton!

Okay. Due to Chinese regulation, phone manufacturers are not allowed to put carrier lock on phones in China. Therefore, Samsung has never locked BL on Chinese and HK variant. Also, Samsung has Google services baked into all Chinese firmwares, you only need to install Google Play manually to use it. You can check how they are using Google Play on Chinese Galaxy S20 series. As I said, the last thing you can do is to flash HK firmware on your phone as they have exactly the same hardware, it comes with everything without Chinese specific features.

You're my hero mate. I know that's a bit overkill, but just excited at the good news, as I already pre-ordered. Might I add a follow up question? What kind of "Chinese specific features" might there be? Apps like WeChat, AliPay, Didi, DouYin, KuaiShou, TouTiao, Youku, WeiBo, BiliBili, etc, are these not also popular in HK? If ya don't know, no worries, you've still made me a happy camper, and thanks again~

In that case, I would definitely prefer the HK version. Can't stand Chinese social media, nor do I use samsung pay - come to think of it, i've NEVER seen that in China mainland. I'll prolly switch to HK version once it's out - and safe to do so. Again, thanks a bunch!
