Howdy - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Saying hi to my new home. I had the Note. Then the n7 and bought this today. So far love it although after note it does feel small
And someone please point me to the easiest rooting method. I'd greatly appreciate it. I did choose white as blue wasn't for me.
Anyway wanted to intro myself and say hi and I look forward to rooting and getting to know some of you.
Now what's the easiest root method?
Later buds

Hi there, I am not sure if I am allowed to link you to another web-page, but i went to http://galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-root/how-to-root-verizon-galaxy-s3-sch-i535/
make sure you download and unlock your bootloader after rooting.
EDIT: to unlock Bootloader there is an app called on the market "Ez-Unlock" we can thank Adam for the open bootloader.

Thank you sir. I appreciate it

Finally I could help someone on the forum too

Best place to look is the stickies in the development forums I would think.

The best way to root is with Adam Outler's Casual program.

Thanks everyone! I'm unlocked. Rooted and running my rom 24hrs in. Still getting used to the size after the Note but the I do like the screen and camera better

How to install custom rom

I am a new android user. I am learning little by little about this phone. Does anyone know how to install custom rom on infuse? I got my phone rooted already.
Thanks in advance.
Ok. First of all you have to be rooted. PM me if you need help with that. Which ROM do you want to flash? There are two that are working well, Infused and refuse. Refuse needs to use odin though, and infused usually doesnt. Just hit me up and I'll send you detailed instructions via PM. We dont need more clutter in these boards.

since the this thread is already started i do have a few noob questions if someone is willing to answer
you should ask.
Look at the thread that I made in the dev section and post questions there. They will be answered
Sent from my 4.5' Infuse 4g: Currently running Infused v1.3.1 w/ voodoo lagfix. Thank you gtg465x!
k will look there first and guess go from there. I have been hesitant to ask cuz always afraid they have been asked or wrong place to ask. Ive looked thru so many pages that i probably saw the answers to some of my questions but read them as a blur. I come from an iphone and with so many android phones seems so confusing at times.

If you go to the Verizon development section there are guides that show you exactly how to root you phone. There is only one way to do so currently. I don't know what rsd is but Odin allows you to flash files onto your sgsiii from your computer anand you will have to use it to gain root.
Also yes you will be able to use any apps that require root.
Also, future reference, a simple search and you would have had these answers and not needed to wait for a response.

AT&T Samsung SGH I727 4.0.4 ICS Root?

Hello! I have a simple question for y'all.
I have a Galaxy S2 Skyrocket that I recently updated to ICS 4.0.4 (I727UCLF6). I was wondering how I might go about rooting said firmware/whatever to run Superuser? I don't care for a custom ROM, just stock with Superuser access. I am familiar with using ODIN as I once ran a Superuser-enabled Gingerbread. Might any of you be of help and point me in the right direction? I would greatly appreciate it! Google has failed me in finding the information I need and it looks like a lot of the old forums are down.
If any of y'all can help, please do!

SKY ICS 4.2f6
Okaaaay... well, my apologies for ending up in the wrong forums. Sorry, I did not see a listing for the Skyrocket when looking through the different threads and such. My bad. You'll have to excuse me for not knowing my way around.
So, I see a fair share of folks makin' "oohs and ahhs", waving the good ol' e-peen about and in general being rather boisterous about a simple mistake... anybody here able to link me to something of use? Once again, I apologize for not being able to navigate the forum with ease. Perhaps a few more friendly faces and less folk simply looking to add to their post count commenting on the most mundane of errors might be of help? I would imagine there's got to be quite a few folk here who can be of service. Also to the poster who mentioned the SKY ICS, I don't think that's what I'm looking for. Though, I very well could be wrong. Still trying to get a hang of this. Perhaps a guide or walkthrough of sorts? As I said before, all I want is to root and run Superuser.
Thanks in advance!
No read the stickies up top read them all understand them then you can try and root
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Check the stickies in this section on how to flash a recovery. From there, you really only need to flash the su files. A zip can be found in the Paranoid Android post in the development section that contains just the superuser files, but at that point you can also flash any number of roms as well. Your call.

Fair enough. I suppose I'll tear through those and see what's all in them.

(Q) Rooting Brand New GT-5113 With 4.0.4 Preloaded

I went to the thread but the link to root 4.0.4 leads nodda. Anyone had success rooting their 5113 with 4.0.4???
Sent from my GT-P5113 using xda premium
yes, rooting the gt-p5113 with 4.0.4 works by using odin, just as the tutorial at : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657056
I did it, it's easy peasy, and the explaignation and files are complete and well done. Others are gonna come around and yell at you about not searching though I'm gonna bet, but I need to earn my bones, so I'm answering.
Wait...you are a senior member asking this? really? haha...I sorta find that funny.....sorry. It's good to see no one knows everything and anyone can simply want to know a simple question. good luck to you.

All the info you might want in re rooting the Charge & the current (& most likely, permanent) top of the heap ROM, Tweaked 3.x, installation and maintenance, is located in the OP for Tweaked. You might have to do a little research but I'm here to tell you, as much as the Charge could be a pain in the butt and locked down with proprietary crapware, it is incredibly easy to root and update as you want.
One of the things you will find in this forum is that the people here will be happy to help. Please, in the meantime, be sure to properly thankful when someone does.
Good luck! I loved my Charge and found it to be an excellent phone. For all its faults, it's a great intro into Rooting / ROMing, relatively difficult to "brick," and, like I've pointed out, an active community of users who like to be helpful.
