Call record app - HTC Desire S

Hey. Is there any app which allows you to record a call in order that both users can be heard clearly??? I have tried few apps, but none of them recorded the opposite person.

the problem is that android OS is made the way that it can not be done well. so, if you want a real both-way call recorder you should first patch your system. the simplest way to do it is flashing a rom that already has this patch done. if you prefere GB, than Reaper (CM based) or Endymion (Sense 3.6 based) or Hyperion (Sense 3.5 based) from lowveld will do. If you want ICS you'll maybe like ICE DS (based on stock ICS) by ronks888. there are also others...
when you have a pached system you can install this app and you're ready to go.
if you're not rooted i think you're screwed.
EDIT 1: before buying call recorder you should install the trial version to see if it work for you. don't blame me if it doesn't.
EDIT 2: hah, it seems that this app now woks even with the stock ICS (rooted). just found out...

What does it mean "Patch the system?"
And I have rooted my phone and as well flashed the ICS Fallout 4.4.0 ROM. But I don't really know is this ROM has this patch support.

On kernel 3 (even stock) there is no need of a patch it comes with 2wcr support out if the box. The patch was necessary for GB kernels

Thanks for the replies guys.
Somehow it's not recording at all... At least the app from above.

I am using ICE_DS 4.4 with stock kernel. I have call recorder 1.1.7 full. it was working in endymion in GB but in ICS it is configured as kernel patch and amr format. it records call but file can not be played. if mp3 or other selected it does not create a file. I think you can make compatible kernel. thank you

The not playable file is a fault of the app. As far as I know the author is working on this. If you play the file on PC it is fine

I have the same problem about playing back on the phone the AMR files. Otherwise it works perfect on the PC. Great app. I don't regret buying it.

DSP Manager Equalizer for Android

A stand alone equalizer. It works by default for all sound and can be disabled, if desired. This version allows independent equalizer for the headphone, speaker, and bluetooth. (New GB apk version contains additional settings.) I am not the DSP Manager dev…just making it available for those whose ROM doesn't include and would like to try and see if it works for them.
Should work on many ROMs and newer phones. You must be Rooted…Make a Nand Backup…I’m not responsible for problems...YMMV
For Froyo: Flash zip file like ROM, kernel, theme, etc. The proper Froyo library files will be added along with the app. Suggest you wipe cache and dalvik cache. If you have an older version in my test it appears you can flash over it and it will overwrite older files and update it. As always recommend NAND backup first.
For Gingerbread: Install apk file. Newer Android GB ROMs (appears to work up through GB 2.3.5) are no longer dependent on audio library files to be added to get DSP working. You should be able to just install a DSP apk to get it working. I've attached an apk. Do Not Use the Zip...that's for Froyo ONLY. As always recommend NAND backup first.

i dont think for my kind of usage an equalizer will make much difference...BUT, i'm interested in being able to raise the volume of the speaker...is that something I can get done with this app? and if so, can the volume really be increased any noticeable amount without risking damaging the speaker?
thanks in advance!
gonna give it a whirl on a few different sound systems, never use headphones though so don't know how helpful this will be.

Yes, but without the library file included it does absolutely nothing.

Is there a newer version that works over Bluetooth?
yes actually if you check out Vaelpak it has been using this in the last few updates before it showed up in EVIO 1.3. so if you are looking for it w/bluetooth its in that rom. try it out or at least thats were a newer version is available

You could raise the gain to increase "apparent" volume but with these tiny speakers probably shouldn't do too much.

Since you know how to do this stuff with ROM building you may want to go to devs site http://bel.fi/~alankila/android-dsp/ and get newest source http://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_packages_apps_DSPManager. That even includes equalizer for bluetooth devices. If you do and could create a flashable zip with the newest version sure would like to have to post here for others to use as a stand alone.
Jim
Thanks for submitting.
Installed and working fine on headset...will try out speaker when I get out of the library.
In the meantime...how can I uninstall this? After flashing it pandora force closes and won't open at all. Need to uninstall to diagnose what is causing the problem...

[DEV] Two-way call recording on Desire HD/Z [ALMOST SOLVED]

Finally, I've found a way to record the calls directly from the phone line on Desire HD and Desire Z.
This was previously solved for regular Desire (see the Desire thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993793 under the same name), but the DHD drivers turned out to be much trickier, so I spent some time reviving them.
Now everything _seems_ to work well (i.e., both parties of incoming and outgoing call are recorded very clearly, as opposed to mic/speaker-feedback recordings where the other party is barely audible). However, I do need your help in testing and resolving any possible issues. Also, I'd greatly appreciate if the kernel/ROM developers make any suggestions and/or consider using the patch in their work.
The attached files are:
* Update zip with the patched stock 2.6.32 kernel (the latest HTC's QMR releases) for DHD.
* CallRecorder app by skvalex (hope he'll join this thread soon & will be posting his updates here), the latest build with DHD/DZ support.
* The kernel patch, suits both for DHD and for DZ stock 2.6.32 kernels, needed for developers only. It's not for installation thru recovery!
Needless to say, you have to have a rooted/s-off device for tests.
No other call recording app will suit, because it must talk to the driver directly (I'll post my rVoix here a bit later).
IMPORTANT NOTE
The update binarу is for those ROMs based on stock HTC 2.6.32 kernels only.
If you have CM7, just download the latest LorDmod kernel at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020637, it already has everything necessary!
If you have some other ROM, please contact its author and ask him to apply the patch (it just enables direct line recording, and does nothing more).
So far, the only app capable of working with it is CallRecorder, I'll attach my rVoix as soon as I fix it for DHD/DZ.
---------
UPDATE: Updated everything, including CallRecorder app! Moved the Desire Z file to their separate thread.
UPDATE Sept, 7: New patch sources for Desire HD gingerbread (2.6.35) which include numerous fixes and AMR support are now at http://code.google.com/p/2-way-call-recording

It would be great if you patch yours and post it here!
You'll need to install this .apk to record the calls: as of now, this is the only app capable of talking with the device directly in order to record from the phone line.

It does the same when trying to take pictures, the camera preview window would freeze after a couple of seconds but pictures come out ok. same thing when viewing videos through browser or when i try to watch a video file saved in the sd card, video freezes after couple of seconds but audio is totally normal.

Call recording is working!

NOTE: Make absolutely sure that call recording is legal in your country or state!
I finally found a way to capture the the direct line of other party. It has not been documented elsewhere and was discovered mostly on a whim. Tested on SCv7 and should work on any ATT ICS based rom. Here we go:
Download the MIUI port from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914096
Extract the system files mentioned here(the first code box):http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28914725&postcount=16 copy them to your system/lib folder with Root explorer. Backup any replaced files just in case and set the permissions rw-r--r--
Download and install Callrecorder app by Skvalex. Free trial can be found here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441643
In Callrecorder preferences set 'Record calls from' to 'Standard Android API' and 'Standard Android API preferences'>'Audio source' to 'Voice call uplink + downlink'
Recorded calls will have the other party loud and clear, no comparison to the old way of capturing with the mic and the speakerphone cranked
Thanks go out to timmytim and Team Shogun for the MIUI port where I grabbed the libs from, whirleyes for the idea of grabbing libs from a Chinese rom
and skvalex for Callrecorder
UPDATE:
I discovered that with 'Audio source' in Callrecorder settings set to 'Voice communication' you only need to copy two files files. I have uploaded these two files for your conveniance: https://www.box.com/s/r2ygsemgr2tjn2fu3jnl
Copy libaudioril.so to system/lib and replace audio_policy.omap4.so in system/lib/hw. Set permissions to rw-rw-w-- for both. This should make the first two steps a bit easier.
Nice score will give it a go in a few.....

Will this work on Paranoid Android? I assume not..since it's Jelly bean...
Note that getting call recording working requires audio library files sourced from an existing Asian ROM for the same hardware and Android version. My instructions are valid for ICS only. For Gingerbread different files are copied. For Jelly Bean there's a slim chance that you can copy files from asian Bionic or Razr JB ROMs once they get released but don't count on it.

awesomeness !
flashed "2012-10-08 v2" but
1) dialer/phone is not working at all, can't make calls, no audio via bluetooth either.
2) phone was getting VERY hot !

did you wipe, sounds like a serious error in memory of wiping, when /data is not clean.
edit: i just wiped and tested, and yes, audio with calls, even with BT seems to fail at some point, i just got noise in bt headset and on my mbile answering machine so not working well.

honestly do not know wheere the mem leak is, but as this is use proprietary drivers from GNII stock firmware, lets just hope it do not
