How do you copy from address bar? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm obviously missing something very basic.
I'm in the web browser. I want to copy the text in the address bar to the clipboard. I put my pen in the address bar. Some kind of text indicator (arrow) appears. Sometimes a little box shows up which says "Paste, Clipboard". But, when I click on clipboard, it doesn't get copied; it just shows me what's in the clipboard. I've looked under the browser menu, nothing says copy or clipboard.
The way I had to do it was to touch "Share" and select e-mail. Then, copy the link from the e-mail message text to the clipboard. That can't be the only way. Right?

Works for me, I just press and hold the address either with my finger or with the S Pen until the whole address is marked. Then I select either Cut or Copy in the toolbar that opens up.
I will post a screenshot from the Note in a minute.

OK. Thanks. It was me being stupid. The problem was that I didn't actually touch the text, I just touched the blank area in the address bar. The text would get selected, but no toolbar popped up. When I touch text string, all the text is selected and I see the toolbar.
Sorry, this is my first tablet/touchscreen.

No need to apologize, this is a Q&A thread where we can ask questions so just fire away! :good:

Also, a quick double tap on the address bar will bring up the same copy/paste option. I find It faster then the "hold" option mentioned above.

PLUGIN Request: Simple Phone Status

EDIT: Seemed to have screwed up BBCode on this post while trying to edit :S
see new post below!
I've been looking for along time for a very simple plugin, but it doesn’t seem to have been made. I have considered writing it myself, but looking at articles it seems the programming experience I have (developing web applications) is largely irrelevant
The closest plugin I have found to do what I want is called PhoneToday (see below)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The plugin I’d really like is as such:
The left hand icon is of a little phone (like PhoneToday) and on the right of the icon is the Operator Name and nothing else. Tapping this line does nothing.
On the second line on the left is the e-mail icon from messaging app (Is it possible to have two icons for one today plugin?) which says SMS: x/y (where x is unread messages and y is the total in the inbox and subfolders – the total bit is important) tapping this line should open the SMS inbox. The text would be bold if there was a new message.
Below that line (with no left hand icon) it would say ‘No missed calls’ if there had been no missed calls and X missed calls if there had. The text would be bold if there had been a missed call. Tapping this line should open the call log.
The above would just be perfect…as I have a *very* busy schedule and love being able to see it all on one page – which requires my today screen to be pretty empty!
If anyone was feeling the need to extend the plug-in it would also be really good if you could choose to add extra lines for each different mailbox (MMS, IMAP, Exchange/ActiveSync) and maybe add some options for changing fonts/icons…I dunno!
I would be really made up if anyone (apart from JGUI – you have caused me to hard reset twice now…I don’t like you) would be able to make a nice simple plugin like this or knows of one I’ve missed.
Thanks *very* much

WM6.5 Messages panel - what is the name? (Samsung Jack)

I flashed my Jack with WM 6.5 recently and loaded the Titanium panels. But I am not seeing an "all in one" panel for Missed calls, Email, Text, and Voicemail. Instead I have a panel for each one.
I checked out the list of apps/panels in the 3vo ROM's for the Excalibur and nothing seemed to be the panel I'm after.
See middle Screenshot at the bottom of first post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523718
Or just below the Wifi panel in this SS.

Anyone know where I can find the stand alone installer? Or help narrow down the search terms? The results I am getting haven't helped find it yet.
I was able to find the info in the Titanium CPR file on the 3VO rom, so I copied that over to the file for my phone. It works!
I just can't find the icons though, I've got red x's on the condensed view and 2 of 4 icons in expanded have red x's. I've looked over the text a lot and I just can't find where they are pulling from.
Looking at the image keys in the registry I see the following:
Value Name: chNotification_cv_email
Value Data: 2003
I'm guessing that is pulling from a DLL, but I am stumped on where to find the name of the DLL so I can view the contents to pick new icons.
Have you tried checking with CHomeConfigurator? I have both the combined panel and the individual ones...
U must install titanium notifications plug

I think you would have to edit the CPR file and comment out the items you don't want to use. If you're editing the CPR file, make a copy for safe keeping in case you mess it up.
Commenting an item out should be easy enough, you'll probably have to adjust the spacing afterwards to get things to appear neatly again.

[MOD] Replace 'Call History' Button for 'All Contacts' in HtcDialer Bottom Taskbar

This small tweak was done as a personal preference on my part. Don't know if others will find value in it or not, but figured I'd share since I spent to them to make the tweak.
It has always bothered me that when I pull up the dialer, that the bottom right button provides for the ability to 'View Call History', when the call history is already presented by default when opening the dialer.
For me, it would be more convenient, when opening the dialer, to have the button default to my contacts list, rather than call history, so this is what this mod/tweak accomplishes. That is, it modifies the functionality of the bottom right button on the dialer taskbar, in order to default, when pressed, to your 'All Contacts' list, rather than the 'Call History'.
Old Dialer Setup w/ Call History Button (bottom right):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
New Dialer Setup w/ All Contacts Button (bottom right):
Note: This mod is provided as a MetaMorph, as such, it will only change the button behavior and icon, but NOT the look (color) of your dialer. This mod also includes the NO Haptic feedback when dialing
XML MetaMorph Control File <--- Apply using the latest MetaMorph Application
That has always bothered me too, but I just dealt with it. Now that you created this update I will have to try it out. Thanks
Works like a charm.

Cool. It just seems to make more sense to me, providing quicker access to your contacts, as opposed to call history.
Isn't it faster to just type the name of the contact you want? And if they have multiple numbers, swiping left and right will let you scroll through the numbers.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. What mod have you published that I can critique?
Sorry if I came off as condescending toward your mod. Didn't mean it like that.

[Userscript in Chrome on XDA] Easily Comment and Reply to Messages

If you're like me, you comment on XDA threads frequently. I noticed that whenever I go to reply on a thread while quoting more than one person, the quoted text gets pretty long. Then I have to scroll way down to the bottom of the reply text field before I can start typing my response.
So I created a userscript for the Tampermonkey Chrome Extension to do the scrolling for me. Supposedly, any userscript that works in Tampermonkey on Chrome should work in Greasemonkey on Firefox but I couldn't seem to get it to work in Firefox. But that's fine with me because I only ever browse XDA on Chrome.
Anyway, this userscript will scroll to the bottom of the text fields on these three webpages:
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/newreply.php?do=newreply*
http://forum.xda-developers.com/editpost.php?do=updatepost&postid=*
http://forum.xda-developers.com/private.php?do=insertpm&pmid=*
Those three pages are for a reply to a thread, editing any of your previous posts, and for replying to private messages.
It's been super convenient for me and I hope it's convenient for you too. Once again though, I couldn't seem to figure out how to make it work in Greasemonkey on Firefox. If you happen to figure it out, let me know because I'd like to be able to use this userscript in Firefox once in a while.
Attached below is the userscript for Tampermonkey as a zip file. Download it and extract it. Then, open your Tampermonkey Dashboard, click on New Script, delete all the text that's currently in there, then click and drag the xda-text-field.user.js file that you extracted to the code section of that New Script page. Then hit Save.
Alternatively, you can just copy and paste the code I have below into that same New Script page and save it. Take your pick.
Code:
// ==UserScript==
// @name Scroll to Bottom of Text Field - XDA
// @namespace com.misterpyrrhuloxia.xda.text.field
// @description Scroll to bottom of text fields
// @include http://forum.xda-developers.com/newreply.php?do=newreply*
// @include http://forum.xda-developers.com/editpost.php?do=updatepost&postid=*
// @include http://forum.xda-developers.com/private.php?do=insertpm&pmid=*
// @version 1.0
// @grant none
// ==/UserScript==
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#vB_Editor_001_textarea").focus();
$('#vB_Editor_001_textarea').scrollTop($('#vB_Editor_001_textarea')[0].scrollHeight);
});
Please update chrome. Clear cache, storage delete need please could fix it

Tutorial For beginners –Using SQLite Debugger to edit Google Dictionary
For modifying Indonesian Dictionary
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/tutorial-google-keyboard-indonesian-t3215118
Download the app from Google Play
Open the app, and this will be displayed
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Choose App
Select User Dictionary
Touch words. Below will be displayed
SQL command (Select * from words) is displayed. To execute, touch the arrow in right upper corner
All words will be displayed
Suppose you want to change the shortcut for the word/phrase "Aduuuh...", touch that word.
The following screen will be displayed. Do you want to update something?
Yes, we want to update the shortcut
In that case, touch Update Value
The SQL command now turns into Update
But we want to update the shortcut, not the word… OK. No problem. Just touch Update? in the upper left corner
Now touch shortcut in the options. Below will be displayed
Select Enter Value (if you see your choice in the option, just touch that. But you don't see that now. Touch "null" if you want to get rid of a shortcut).
You just need to enter your shortcut. In this case, I try to put the word "aduhm", choosing the letter "m" being close to the dot button in the keyboard
The SQL command is now perfect (you can remove "word = Aduuuh..." if you want, by touching Update again. Try it...)
Just execute by touching the arrow in the upper right corner
Then you have to press "Commit" twice, in the screen below and next screen, to make sure you don't make a mistake
The first Commit
The second Commit
Done. The changes are written to file
You can get out by pressing the upper left arrow, or
You can delete the Where clause and execute the select command again
Or just press Back Button of the phone and go to previous commands
=======================
You also can add Bookmarks for the commands so that so don't need to write again next time.
The two arrows in lower left and right corner is for navigating through records, mostly for Select command.
That's all
Thanks for reading and watching
