[Q] Manual TF300T Jellybean Update - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there. I have unlocked TF300T and since my "Firmware update" did not found a new one (currently running ICS) I decided to try a manual update. I went to the Asus Support site and downloaded WW 4.1.1 update for my TF. I extracted it onto my tablet (so there was WW_epad-user-10.4.2.9.zip), after restarting and after booting into Stock ICS, it found an update. I pressed ok and restart. After that, it just boots into my TWRP and that's it. Any help?

Nevermind, problem solved. Used fastboot blob method. JB is working great!

Noob here looking for som help with flashing JB

Hello to anyone who offers to help!
First post ever on XDA.
I just installed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1893714
Jelly bean release on my TF300T, however, I seem to be stuck in a bootloop.
Stuck in the screen where it says "The Device is unlocked" in the top left corner.
On the thread above I flashed the first out of three options (untouched official latest firmware ;stock kernel ;su & Superuser for root access !).
I did wipe both cache and dalvik before flashing with TWRP.
Any help is appreciated

Were you already running jb before you flashed the ROM? If not, get the latest ICS release from Asus and flash that, then upgrade to jb. If you were already on jb, flash that again via twrp, then see if it boots fine, if it does, then begin your root process again.

All the ROMs that are available right now for JellyBean require that you are already on the JB bootloader. If you are NOT on the official (OTA) JB update, then I suggest you read up on NVFlash before you do cause you can't go back to the ICS bootloader once you update to the official JB firmware 10.4.2.9 or .13.

Hi Guys!
I also got this beauty today! Still charging!
So.. what should i do 1st? Put the last ICS and bootloader? And only then go to JB? Firmware?
Im confused....

A510 relock bootloader for OTA updates?

Hi, there are several mentions of this subject, but none of them really addresses the issue in detail. My A510 is rooted with stock ROM. I installed Thor's recovery image. After a while I found out that there are no real custom ROMs for this tablet out there, only experimental. Now until this happens I would like to get at least the OTA firmware updates and eventually Jelly Bean as soon as it comes out from Acer.
So if I got this all right, my situation is:
1. I can't get OTA if my bootloader is unlocked
2. I can't just re-lock the bootloader via adb
3. I did install the stock recovery, but I am somehow still unlocked
4. When I try to lock/unlock the device, as soon as I push any of the Vol buttons, it says timeout
Any idea what I do wrong here?
Thanks a million for any advice!

[Q] Best option for root

Its good to join a new forum!
Ive decided too take one of tf300s home from work to help feed my root hunger (also running cm10.1 on htc evo 4g lte)
This tablet is currently running 4.0.3
Assuming i will be walking the custom ROM road, should I leave tablet at 4.0.3 or upgrade to JB? I won't have my p c to perform fastboot until next week, this is why i ask.
Thanks in advance

I would suggest moving up to JB. I've been using CM 10.1 (which is running 4.2.1) on my TF300T and it's been great. The UI and options are better on JB than on ICS, even though ICS was a pretty great step up.

I also just got my tablet now and I'm holding the firmware update while reading, what do you advice? push to OTA or unlock, root, then custom rom? I thought I saw few others having problem with JB is that OTA JB? That's why I'm not pushing any OTA updates for now.
Thanks in advance!

1st solution (That I've made)
Don't update to JB now.
Rooted and unlock in ICS
Backup your root with OTA Rootkeeper
and after JB update by OTA and restore your root with OTA ROOTKEEPER.
2nd Solution:
Or unlock and root your TF and use the NVFLASH tool (with pre-JB bootloader)
3rd solution:
Go on OTA JB Update
Unlock your TF
and use this guide : [ROOT/ROM] Root Stock/Deodex Firmware 10.4.2.20 (US/WW) | Insecure kernel ! when you are on the version of firmware
Go to my index and you will find all the links that you need

Thanks for your help here's what I did:
-Unlocked using APK
-did NVFLASH tool
-flash CWM
-root
-install OTA Rootkeeper
Now I want to install hydro and I know I have to be in JB boot loader the only question for me now to be able to proceed is:
-Install the pending OTA JB update (I dont know if this will proceed installing since it was downloaded while Im stock, I'm afraid it will brick my device since Im now unlocked, nvflash, rooted)
OR
-Just DL latest from ASUS (ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T Firmware: V10.4.2.20 Only for US SKU (Android 4.1)) Can I just install the latest or I need to install pre requisite update first?
THEN
-Install compatible recovery for JB
-Install custom rom

It's really easy now that you're unlocked, rooted and used NVFlash.
I suppose you're still in ICS.
Backup somewhere all of your files (stock rom, nvflash file etc...) use Titanium backup for save & restore your apps later
You can use both process for update your TF
The OTA update, and every time, you are going to have to restore your root.

[Q] XT1033 (rooted, stock ROM) doesn't install 4.4.4 update. help?

So I got the update today, downloaded OTA, phone reboots and starts installing it, but it stops and gives an error message. I tried updating again and same thing happened. Anyone with the same problem?
I was having problems like you to get it to update. I gave up on my xt1032 and just flashed stock 4.4.2, no root. Then it installed the update without issues.
Unroot and try again... also go back to the stock recovery if by chance you aren't using that already.

Trouble updating to 5.0.2

Hi folks,
my Moto G (GB retail, running stock 4.4.4, stock recovery) has been working fine for quite some time. A few months ago, I experienced a bootloop and made a hard reset. Since then, Google Contacts Sync isn't working until I install a GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk (that I found somewhere on the internet).
Today, the new update to 5.0.2 fails to install (aborts after a minute or so) and the phone boots back normally. I also tried updating via .zip file through recovery and the system says the update has been aborted because current "GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk has unexpected contents". The same message is shown when installing the update on a freshly reset phone (without installing the aforementioned downloaded .apk).
Could anyone provide a solution?
Thanks a million!
If you have an unlocked bootloader, you could try flashing a stock 4.4.4 ROM, then try to OTA to 5.02.
