Korean Samsung Galaxy S II with Tegra Kernel..Custom Roms possible? - General Questions and Answers

Hi Im new to this forum but I hope people will still help me
Well, like the title says, i got a korean galaxy s II rooted with tegrak kernel. I rooted by flashing siyah kernel first, but because the phone did not boot, i flashed tegrak kernel after that. Now, i havent really seen any confirmation for custom roms to work on the tegrak kernel and i dont want to risk to brick my phone... so..does anyone actually know if its possible and if yes, does the person also know HOW to do it? I searched for it in the internet but i didnt find anything..(i should mention that im not too good at korean..so i couldnt search for it on korean :0)

Trying to root GS2, but Kernel and Baseband are different. Is this a problem?

Hello everyone, I'm on the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100. I was following a tutorial on how to root and it tells me that I must find the matching Kernel for my phone. I noticed, however the phone the user is using in the tutorial has the same Baseband and Kernel model. Mine, however, is different. My Kernel says it is model DXKI2, but just above it the baseband model is DXKI1. Now, I don't know if the two are related, but I am just worried that I might cause damage to my phone.
Do the Kernel and baseband need to be the same?
Thanks in advance!
No problem at all, try d00ml0rd's v3 rooting toolkit, it is working very easy.

[Q] Any ROM available Samsung Galaxy S II SGH 727R

Here's the thing. As usual it seems to be an organization issue here between major brands and models so after looking around for hours I'm still not able to figure out what is going on here.
I bought a Samsung galaxy S II LTE SGHI727R from Rogers Canada.
Is there a European ROM available for it? i want to debrand it and remove bloatware I guess.
Will the Samsung Skyrock ROM work on it ok?
Some good info on this matter would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I think the easyest thing to do is go on the samsware website choose a reagion u want it from and flash it. I had a problem upgradeing my phone with loads of crappy bloatware. So I just flashed stock europe firmware to it. Just dont choose a network provider firmware but it does explain it easly enough
Where exactly can I find this on samsung's websites? Been looking, but can't find it
This is most probs best site for the original firmware its got a list of all sgs2, sgs1 etc

[Q] Questions about my GS2 LTE version

Hello everybody,
I'm French and totally new in this forum.
Just got a Galaxy S2 LTE from my dad who brought it back from a biz trip in Germany here's what I found when I checked the phone's version:
Baseband: I9210XXKI5
Kernel: 2.6.35.11-I9210XXKI5-CL616063 [email protected] #2
Build number: GT-I9210-eng 2.3.5 GINGERBREAD 0XXKI5 test-keys
Anyone can tell me something about it? I know that the phone is rooted because Root Check Basic told me so.
As I'm living in France, will it be a problem if I try to upgrade to ICS?
Thanks,
Max
Well your phone is definitely not the Skyrocket, but it definitely has the same chip set. I wouldn't advice rooting with any if the skyrocket methods until you know it's safe.

Indeed, the phone isn't the skyrocket but no for the GS II LTE
Does anyone know where I can find the stock firmware so I can unroot the phone?

Y7562 Smart Phone

Hello,
Could someone be so kind and point me in the right direction to this Chinese Galaxy knock off, My friend purchase it and im trying to get it rooted and install a custom Rom. It has the stock Rom but for the life of me we try att,tmobile,net10 sims with the correct APN and still says no service, So I would like to root it and try a different rom to see if that works,
Any help would be great. And yes I did a search and that model doesn't show up.
The corrent rom on it is:4.0
Baseband: DM_BASE_12A_W12.43|sc6820_modem|11-01-12
Kernel: 2.6.35.7
Software: 6820_4.0_c910_YP_v13
Hardware Ver: 1.1.0
Duo Sim
Thanks in advance.
This has nothing to do with the Galaxy S Duos (GT-S7562), unfortunately. Incompatibilities relate mostly to hardware differences.
Cheers,
C.
