Problem with screen - LG Optimus 3D

Phone has been exposed to rain, at first did not work at all. Then he turned on the band appeared on the screen is very much in 3d mode, 2d too much

Hello
If you aren't familiar with opening things up you'd better take it to some phone repairing service if the phone isn't anymore in warranty (even if I don't believe that warranty will cover up such a thing). At the easiest and happiest your phone has only a few contacts gone bad and cleaning them up would do the trick. Worse scenario - you got water between screens or some electronics is gone bad.
Advice: when you got water in your electronic device PLEASE take off battery and let it dry well - about 12 hours minimum and only after that put on the battery and power it up.

Sorry to hear your Magician has gone bad...
Of course you can buy a replacement screen, but it's rather expensive and a true heartbreaker if it still doesn't work. I think your best bet is to take it to a professional and have it checked out. Only then will you find out what has happened and how expensive it will be.
Normally, if you drop your phone in water, you should just pull the battery right away and let the phone dry in room temperature for at least 24 hours, before trying to power it up again. Be careful of hairdriers and radiators, which might turn a bad thing worse. Don't ever try to disassemble until you know for a fact that it is the last option.
Thanks for your responce..i think i should sent the phone to qtek service centre....

Fuze Problem (Help)

My Fuze got a wet.
I shook out the water
I powered it on. It came on and everything.
It reset itself.
Then I played with it for a while.
Everything seemed fine until I hit the power button. The screen turned off.
I pressed it again and it wouldn't turn on.
Nothing gets the phone back on at this stage, except taking the battery out and powering up again.
I then decided to do the bowl of rice thing and let it sit for about 7 hours.
It is still the same. If I press the power button at the top of device, it turns off.
If I press it quickly after, it turns back on but if I wait a while, lets say 3-5 seconds, it doesn't turn back on.
Also, the water damage sticker has turned light pink, like 65% of it.
any suggestions
I'm afraid there is probably no help. Even if the water dried completely before turning it back on the impurities in the water probably will cause problems.
I had one drop in some water. Powered it off, disassembled it and dried completely. I let it sit for 8 hours, reassembled it and powered it on. It worked for a couple of hours.
Luckily I had insurance on it.
oh ok
what about warranty, i am still covered
the little white box is still white but mostly pink
its kinda crazii that it turns on and everything works
its just that if i turn off the phone or it turns off automatically due to the power settings, it can't turn on.
the soft reset doesn't work and the power buttton atop the phone doesnt work either
w0w!!!
i just powered on my waater damaged 8525 from 2 yrs ago (had a tilt & fuze since) & it works!!!
b4 it would turn on but the screen wouldnt work
you would have to position it @ a certain angle in order to make anything out
it works now, besides needing to hooked up to the charger in order to load up
fuze is still sitting in a bowl of rice
any more ideas, suggestions...etc
ok, i just realizedthat the soft reset button @ da bottom doesnt function @ all
any idea on how to go about fixing this??
itsjust the screen doesnt come back on but device isnt off because the scroll wheel lights still show up
but it shouldnt because the device isnt charging
Can you warranty a device if the sticker is partially pink?
You can try the warranty, but when they see the water sticker is colored, you're likely to be charged for the cost of the phone. Water won't be covered by warranty, only insurance.
If you want to avoid replacing the phone at your cost, then about the only thing I can think of doing is pulling the battery out and cleaning it thouroughly with distilled water (in other words, another dunking). Do that 2-3 times with fresh distilled water to get rid of as many impurities from the other water as you can. Then let it dry for 24-48 hours (getting some dessicants wouldn't hurt to suck out as much water as you can). Then put a battery in and see what happens.
Odds aren't good this will improve things, but it's possible. It's more likely you'll need to get your hands on a new phone.
You could also try to find a broken fuze online, maybe eBay, but no water damage, and swap stickers.
thanks guys
do the silica packs count?
how would you go about switching the stickers?
is there a particular part i can switch from a used fuze to fix my problem?

For the sticker, just carefully take it off a different Fuze, hell maybe even a different phone as long as the sticker fits. Take off the pink one on your Fuze and glue on the new one. Should be good as new.
As for swapping parts, it would probably be too much money and trouble to do that, that'll void your warranty right there anyways and there's a chance you'll never assemble the phone back perfectly. Trust me, it has happened to me a lot when I thought I could swap parts.
I've seen a friend of mine do something with one he got wet that actually worked ... he dipped his entire phone in a bowl of rubbing alochol for a few seconds - the pulled it back out & let it dry out for about 24 hours and it's worked. Obviously take the battery out when you do that....
kinda scared about the rubbing alcohol because the phone works for the most part, just not the reset button
i have other devices so im gonna try the sticker swap for now
well the concepton the alcohol dunk is that you need alcohol that is as close to pure alcohol as possible. rubbing is great as previously mentioned. what it does is that it takes the water and vaporizes with the water. the same concept as adding wine or spirits into a soup. it makes the soup thicker and creamier because there is less water in it.. and it also can be used to fix a situation where you use too much water or something....

[Q] Nexus S [i9020] Possible Water Damage

Hello all,
My Nexus S i9020 running Android 4.0.4 has run into a spot of bother!
As a result of leaving my phone on the windowsill while I was having a shower, condensation seeped into the phone, causing it to malfunction, and eventually die. The phone will not turn on/off and the computer cannot recgonise the phone when I lug it into the USB port. The phone however, does get warm when I leave it charging for 20-30mins. I have tried the bag of rice trick and that didn't work. I have also taken the phone apart and cleaned it but that didn't work either.
I sent it away to a phone repair company to see if they could do anything and they said it was a waste of time as there was mildew growing on the circuit board. I said I would post this anyway, incase anyone might have an idea on how I could bring back my beloved phone, and also to warn people not to leave their devices in the bathroom when having a shower!
Thanks, Jake
Take the phone apart use a hairdryer and dry the mobo+screen for quite some time (20minutes++ depends) at the maximum heat be careful on the screen cause u can damage it from excess heat i can't tell exactly what is degree is ok for the screen as i do it by "feel' (no i don't touch it to understand if the heat is enough) . If that doesn't work then probably the ic chip is damaged or something else ;P
As for myself i never had a phone die from water damage i have dipped a nexus s in water (don't ask why i'm crazy enough) the battery didn't die completely but was unusable, the screen had marks after the water was removed, but the motherboard was fully functional. (take notice i have dipped 2 nexus s screens in water they always leave marks when the water is removed always !)
Worst i had was a bb9000 which i got into the shower with it (i was drunk) next morning the phone was on and completely soaked, motherboard survived, screen survived but battery died and the key membrane needed to be replaced

What Should I Do if I Drop My Cell Phone in Water

If you drop your cell phone in water, it is often possible to salvage it. Time is of the essence, however, so the first thing to do is to get your cell phone out of the water as soon as possible. Leaving a cell phone in water for even a few seconds might damage it beyond repair, but there are a few things that you can try and that sometimes work. The main things are opening the phone as much as possible, taking out the battery and completely drying off all of the components.
Remove the Battery
After retrieving your cell phone from the water, the next thing to do is to remove the battery immediately, without even hesitating to turn off the power. This reduces the risk of a short circuit that would render your phone useless. Dry the battery with a towel, and it set aside to dry thoroughly. The battery itself might not work again, but it can be replaced fairly inexpensively. Even if the battery does work, it is a good idea to get a new one to avoid the risk of having the old one leak battery acid.
That's a good idea
Thank you very much for your offer that very useful

Back Cover is opening

Hello
Before few days I noticed a strange sound from the back side of my phone. It was like a broken glass. When I turned over my phone, I saw, that the back cover was a bit open at the left side (where the Volume Buttons are), but it isn't broken. The whole side is open maybe about 1 mm. If i push the cover back it's opening again.
I think, that the battery is expanding, but the phone doesn't get hot, and I can use it normally. Everything works perfectly. Also I want to say, that the phone NEVER fell down and it also never fell into water. Only at this day I was at the beach, and it was a bit hot, but the phone was in my bag in the shadow
Now I want to ask, if it's safe to use (I don't want, that this thing explode in my hands, or at night while charging ). I was at my operator store, and they said, that they have to repair it, and this could take 3 Weeks(!). They would also reset all my data, I really don't know why. I am also thinking of repair it myself, but I don't know where to buy the Battery, and the Back Cover.
Some infos if it's important:
- Rooted
- Android 8.0
- 40°C - 43°C Battery Temperature at heavy Gaming with Max. settings
- Buyed in October 2016 (as a new device at my operator-shop)
- 4000 - 4200 times plugged into charger
- 750 full charging cycles
- charged mostly over original charger with fast charge
- never used Wireless Charging
- not tweaked by power or electicity current
- I have a Phone cover, which holds at the back side, but it also closes the Phone
Should I try to repair it myself or should I give it to my operator and they do it for me (of course I have to pay, because at Batterys there is a 6 Month warranty in Austria)
Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english.
The chances are very good that the battery is expanding. The opening is in the right area for it to be the battery, and if it keeps reopening when you try to close it then it must be the battery pushing the cover off, as there's really nothing else in the phone that could do that.
You should definitely get it fixed. An expanding battery is bad news. It might not explode but it's not going to get better. You can fix it yourself (for example, look at the teardown on ifixit) but the main difficulty is getting a new battery that isn't a fake. Getting it fixed through your operator would probably give you a better chance of getting a real Samsung battery and having it repaired in such a way that it would still be water resistant.
Thanks for the reply. I think, I will give it to my operator and they should repair it, because I want to keep that the phone is water ressistent. Its not nesseary, but it's fine to have it.
