Hi Guys,
I have some question and already 1 day I can't solve it, I can't get any signal from my phone and mobile network connection such as hsdpa or edge or etc. suddenly after I charging my phone thru usb from pc the signal just gone and there's cross (x) on signal icon. I don't know why but phone seems can recognize my provider but no signal. Is it baseband? or what? I already re-flash rom or flash another rom but didn't work
Thanks, I need fast respond!
Which baseband are you on??
Re-flash the baseband!!
If this doesnt work.. go to service centre!!
Your phone antena is screwed up.. the board has to be replaced!!
It's most likely the baseband, try flashing something like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887281&highlight=void
and if you get signal on that rom that means that you have the old baseband, which means you need to either use a baseband fix, use an old baseband rom or upgrade your baseband. If you don't get signal on the rom I linked or any new baseband roms (like cm9, aokp, cm7, cm10) then there might be a hardware problem.
If you can search network but still X on signal?? Go network preferences and select GSM.

I am new to all this Android mi'larky - what exactly is the baseband and what is it's role?
Also is it the baseband that gets hacked so you don't need a modified USB cable to upgrade?
TIA.
Baseband is the code that manages all radio connections such as 2G/3G/4G mobile network/data connections. I think Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also managed by baseband.
With android, you dont need a modified usb cable unless you mess up your phone while trying to hack it
Thanks for the clarification exceleth.
No problem dude
just another question about baseband
well
i got this problem with a few ROMs.
the problem is:
the SIM doesnt connect
i cant do calls or go online or something
is it because of the baseband?
do you know what i have to do?
You have to flash the baseband first to get your radio working:

Or flash the V21a Gingerbread kdz, which includes the required baseband along with gingerbread:

I`ve got an LG MyTouch Q (C800) which was network locked to T-Mobile, i`ve flashed the latest nightly CM9 (doing everything by the instructions), and now the phone can`t connect to any mobile networks. Looking for a solution i`ve found that you can flash a stock baseband to solve this, but everytime i flash this stock baseband image through CWM recovery nothing changes - no network connections and baseband still shows "unknown". IMEI is the same as on stock ROM.
Removing the sim card doesn`t bring "emergency call" option and there is no "no sim card" sign in the tray, and the phone acts like it has a sim card in it when trying to connect to a mobile network it says that "Unable to connect to this network at this time. Please try again later".
Flashing back to stock ROM solves the problem - i have a baseband number and emergency call works but the biggest problem still exists - it`s network locked.
So the question is:
Am I flashing correctly this stock baseband through CWM recovery or I am doing everything wrong?
P.S.
I can`t post in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752704 and instructions on stock baseband flashing were sketchy at best.
No one knows? Please guys\gals help, it`s driving me nuts that I can`t figure it out how to flash this baseband.
Have updated my spica from 2.1 to cyanogenmod-6.1.1-spica-alpha8.3 build number K/Criminal.r6
Everything is perfect and I like it, but It cannot connect to internet.
Here is the phone status
Signal strength is changing but have managed to see this -111 dBm 4 asu
Mobile network-both edge and UMTS
Service state-in service
Mobile network state-disconnected
IMEI-000000000000000
IMEI SV-00
WI-FI MAC address- unavailable
Bluetooth address- unavailable
I tried to re boot, I also tried to re-install the rom but I have the same problem...I read somewhere about updating prl, but I could not do it because those #### thing are not for my network providers (my country is zambia, africa).
When I flash it back to 2.1 mobile internet service is perfect.
What is the problem here?
Your help will be really appreciated.
Thank you
Hi!
That's very bad news. Are you sure you updated with firmware for your exact device? Your imei has been erased, making the phone useless as a phone. No data, no calls and no texts.
If you have a backup from before the update, restore it. Hopefully the efs folder was backed up. Without a backup, you may need to send your device for service to have the imei restored.
See this similar thread for more of an explanation.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1027833
I hope you can get it resolved. Good luck!
Ah, you do have a backup. Restore it and don't flash that rom again. Its broken your imei.
Please be more careful what you flash and be sure it is for your device. Sounds like what you flashed was for another device.....or something just went very wrong.
Hi,
I have an issue with the radio of my phone. When I switch to 3G, I get a weak signal varying between one and a max of 3 bars. The phone gets heated up and the battery starts draining. Please find below the device and OS that I am using
Device: Samsung Galaxy S2
OS: CM M12
Base band: I9100DDLP8
Location: Bangalore, India
I have inserted my Sim in a different phone and have found that nothing is wrong with the connectivity in the area. I have no issues when I switch to 2G. I have tried flashing various modems and RILs but in vain. I have also tried using the Getril app to correct the issue but without much success.
Here is what I have tried and noticed
1) Flashed the modem DDLS9 and DDLPB. The 3G signal strength is good when I flashed these modems but I am unable to make or receive calls. I have flashed the RIL along with the modem.
2) On trying the modems XXLS6, XXLS8, XXLS9 and XXKH3, nothing has changed and I still got the weak 3G signal though am able to make and receive calls.
I have also tried flashing a stock rom (Jelly bean) but the issue was still there.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance
Hi you can post your question here for direct support.
Good luck
Hello! I now move on to new cyanogen roms but since the firmware is updated new baseband is "di 3.0".
I have a oneplus one which its IMEI changed by changing 00550 NV ITEM. Since oneplus one has its own security policy about changing IMEI my 2G not working yet I can able to run 3G in 2.0 modems ( Kitkat Modems ) (My country doesn't have 4G btw).
Since I installed a new rom with a new firmware my reception run into connection loop which is connecting and instantly drop the connection says no sim card. Since its in a loop it tries to connect over and over and drops.
I can easly save this by flashing any kitkat modem, connection become stable but it breaks gyro sensors and the sensor fixes in xda won't help the issue..
Is there any way to disable natively disable 2G on DI3.0 basebands ? or is it checking the NV item and breaks the connection ? if it is, is there a way to disable that also ? I Can't use any roms because of this baseband and sensor issue.
Note : I also tried to write its own IMEI again but it is still looping and no 2G in 2.0basebands.
